Mimesis (Ancient Greek: μίμησις (mīmēsis), from μιμεῖσθαι (mīmeisthai), "to imitate," from μῖμος (mimos), "imitator, actor") is a critical and philosophical term that carries a wide range of meanings, which include imitation, representation, mimicry, imitatio, receptivity, nonsensuous similarity, the act of resembling, the act of expression, and the presentation of the self.
In ancient Greece, mimesis was an idea that governed the creation of works of art, in particular, with correspondence to the physical world understood as a model for beauty, truth and the good. Plato contrasted mimesis, or imitation, with diegesis, or narrative. After Plato, the meaning of mimesis eventually shifted toward a specifically literary function in ancient Greek society, and its use has changed and been re-interpreted many times since then.
One of the best-known modern studies of mimesis, understood as a form of realism in the arts, is Erich Auerbach's Mimesis: The Representation of Reality in Western Literature. Published in 1946 and written while the author was in exile from Nazi Germany, the book opens with a famous comparison between the way the world is represented in Homer's Odyssey and the way it appears in the Bible. From these two seminal Western texts, Auerbach builds the foundation for a unified theory of representation that spans the entire history of Western literature, including the Modernist novels being written at the time Auerbach began his study.
Eat a lot, sleep a lot, brush 'em like crazy
Run a lot, do a lot, never be lazy
(Good boy)
Eat a lot, sleep a lot, brush 'em like crazy
Run a lot, do a lot, never be lazy
Eat a lot, sleep a lot, brush 'em like crazy
Run a lot, do a lot, never be lazy
Eat a lot, sleep a lot, brush 'em like crazy
Run a lot, do a lot, never be lazy, never be lazy, be lazy
Eat a lot, sleep a lot, brush 'em like crazy
I wanna know, who's the boss around there
Somebody, better step up now, and make this all clear
They run your life, with indecision
I would appreciate a little precision
But all I get is Mommy sayin' ask your Daddy says ask your Mom
Well I
Hang up the phone, said I'll be right there
Then I
Pull up front to find that we ain't going no where
(No where)
Looks like somebody can't make up their mind
I gotta half a tank of gas, and all that I find is
Uh!
Momma says ask your Daddy says ask your Mom
Now you've been walkin' the line
All of this time, they don't know what your thinkin'
You got it all down, next time around
You've been doin' what you like
Partyin' all night, playin' your records til the early early mornin' light
(OW!)
That's right
WHOO!
Naaaaa-Naaaaa
Naaaaa-Naaaaa
Naaaaa-Naaaaa
Naaaaa-Naaaaa
Alright
Well, they don't like me now cause I'm hip to their game
But just 1 more year, and they'll have no one to blame
Cause baby you can come live with me, it ain't no life of luxury
But your Momma said ask your Daddy said ask your Mom
There'll be no more Momma said ask your Daddy said ask your Mom
I'm sick of that!
Sick of that!
Momma said ask your Daddy said ask your Mom
There's just no decisions
Just Momma said ask your Daddy said ask your Mom
OW!
Verse 1
If my time on earth was over,
Then the last thing I would do
Is to pray to God and just thank him
For blessing me with you
What you did for me was a miracle
Every word you said was true
You were always there and protected me
This song goes out to you
Chorus
Mama, I never meant to make you cry
Mama, forgive me for the times I hurt you
Mama, if I could only turn turn back time
My live would be complete
Verse 2
In my darkest times, you're my shining light
I can always count on you
You were there for me, when I couldn't see
And helped me make it through
Remember when I was just a little child
All the things we used to do
I will cherish all the memories
That's why I sing this song to you
Chorus
Mama, I never meant to make you cry
Mama, forgive me for the times I hurt you
Mama, if I could only turn turn back time
My live would be complete
C-Part
How am I to make it through the night?
How am I to live my life my life when you're not here by my side?
Mama you're the reason why I've become a better man
Every word you said was true, and I'll make it up to you
Chorus
Mama, I never meant to make you cry
Mama, forgive me for the times I hurt you
Mama, if I could only turn turn back time
My live would be complete
Chorus
Mama, I never meant to make you cry
Mama, forgive me for the times I hurt you
Mama, if I could only turn turn back time
My live would be complete
Mama they won't take me seriously
They show me the door but they hold back the key
I ask myself what is wrong with me
Do they see something I don't see
I know you told me, not to take from strangers
But I am preoccupied with the dangers
and respect among thieves
There's a piracy on the high seas
And I am held for trason here
with no reasons clear, that I know
The old house by the late
A split was so apparent
An imminent break
How could I've known
I was just a kid
I was only doin'
Just what I was told
And I know you told me, not to take from strangers
But I am preoccupied with the dangers
and respect among thieves
There's a piracy on the high seas
And I am held for treason here
With no reasons clear, that I know
What do I know? The seeds don't grow
Through my broken home
What do I know?
I don't want to grow old alone
What do I know?
Mama they won't take me seriously
They show me the door
Early in the morning, 7 A.M.
I wake up and u are not here
I can't remember
if u leave me, so, u don't need me?
Until the sunrise coming, I cannot break me
And it's happened always in my life
And it's happened always in my mind
It's so asfixiated all the time
Nice way to hurt me
I cannot break me, Cannot complete me
I always trust in u, and u don't need me
I can't explain this, and cannot wake up
I gAve her all she wanted,
