As a new conflict opposes Israel and Lebanon, Hajar, a young Palestinian student, returns to her native village in Galilee on the occasion of a wedding in the family. Just before the ceremony, she goes to see her father, patriarch Abu Majd, who has always encouraged her to learn and to discover the world. Maryam Banoo, a depressed wealthy woman, finds out that her husband is having an affair with another woman. Her husband leaves the house after Maryam Banoo understands the truth. Maryam feels lonely and, by accident, she finds a poor worker and his pregnant wife who are homeless and need a warm place and some treatments for the wife. Maryam Banoo helps them by inviting them to her house and entertaining them with several kinds of food and drinks. The husband and wife invite some other members of their family to Banoo's house and they start to steal Banoo's expensive furniture and bothering her with their bad behavior. Finally Maryam's husband comes back from the trip and throws the poor people out. He admits that he is sorry about his affair but Maryam doesn't accept it and moves to an unknown place to live in peace. Her husband goes after her.

Sekelompok preman di Rusia telah salah pilih korban. Mereka mengganggu seorang wanita, dengan menariknya untuk bergabung ke meja mereka dalam sebuah bar di Starokorsunskaya. Wanita itu ternyata istri petinju profesional Rusia Nicolai Vlasenko. Nicolai jelas emosi saat keluar dari toilet, melihat istrinya sedang dilecehkan oleh para preman itu. Dia sudah berusaha tetap sabar, dengan meminta mereka tidak mengganggu istrinya. Tapi pemimpin preman, Leonti Yevdokimov (33), malah menantangnya untuk berkelahi di luar bar. Kamera CCTV kemudian memperlihatkan bagaimana petinju berusia 29 tahun itu, memukul jatuh satu persatu preman itu hanya dengan sekali pukulan. Tiga preman jatuh, termasuk sang pemimpin, tampaknya membuat yang lain menjadi ciut. Para preman yang disebut merupakan anggota kelompok preman setempat, dan kerap membuat keributan di kota kecil itu, akhirnya memilih tidak melanjutkan keributan. "Mereka ada setidaknya 10 orang, dipimpin dua orang yang berbadan paling besar," kata Eldar Vinogradoff, seorang saksi mata. "Salah satu dari mereka mulai menarik bajunya, dan saya kira dia bahkan tidak tahu apa yang telah mengenainya, saat dia jatuh seperti pin bowling. Preman kedua berusaha menendang, dan langsung jatuh seketika," tambah Eldar, yang dikutip Daily Mail, Jumat 21 November. Tapi sepertinya kelompok preman itu tidak mau terlalu banyak menanggung malu. Mereka menyewa pengacara untuk menuntut Nicolai, dan mengaku pada polisi bahwa mereka menjadi korban penyerangan Nicolai. Namun polisi mengatakan, mereka tidak akan mengambil tindakan apa pun terhadap Nicolai, karena rekaman dari CCTV jelas memperlihatkan bahwa dia hanya membela diri, dan dia juga hanya sendiri melawan demikian banyak orang. Kamera CCTV memperlihatkan bagaimana para anggota kelompok itu mundur, menyerah kalah, bahkan tanpa membantu tiga rekannya yang sedang menghitung putaran burung-burung kecil dalam kondisi pingsan.
