A mince pie, also known as minced pie, is a small British sweet pie traditionally served during the Christmas season. Its ingredients are traceable to the 13th century, when returning European crusaders brought with them Middle Eastern recipes containing meats, fruits and spices.
The early mince pie was known by several names, including mutton pie, shrid pie and Christmas pie. Typically its ingredients were a mixture of minced meat, suet, a range of fruits, and spices such as cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Served around Christmas, the savoury Christmas pie (as it became known) was associated with supposed Catholic "idolatry" and during the English Civil War was frowned on by the Puritan authorities. Nevertheless, the tradition of eating Christmas pies in December continued through to the Victorian era, although by then its recipe had become sweeter and its size reduced markedly from the large oblong shape once observed. Today the mince pie remains a popular seasonal treat enjoyed by many across the United Kingdom.
A pie is a baked dish which is usually made of a pastry dough casing that covers or completely contains a filling of various sweet or savoury ingredients.
Pies are defined by their crusts. A filled pie (also single-crust or bottom-crust), has pastry lining the baking dish, and the filling is placed on top of the pastry, but left open. A top-crust pie, which may also be called a cobbler, has the filling in the bottom of the dish and the filling covered with a pastry or other covering before baking. A two-crust pie has the filling completely enclosed in the pastry shell. Flaky pastry is a typical kind of pastry used for pie crusts, but many things can be used, including baking powder biscuits, mashed potatoes, and crumbs.
Pies can be a variety of sizes, ranging from bite-size to ones designed for multiple servings.
The need for nutritious, easy-to-store, easy-to-carry, and long-lasting foods on long journeys, in particular at sea, was initially solved by taking live food along with a butcher or cook. However, this took up additional space on what were either horse-powered treks or small ships, reducing the time of travel before additional food was required. This resulted in early armies adopting the style of hunter-foraging.
William Robert "Will" Young (born 20 January 1979) is a British singer-songwriter and actor who came to prominence after winning the 2002 inaugural series of the British music contest Pop Idol, making him the first winner of the now-worldwide Idols-format franchise. His debut single, "Anything is Possible", was released two weeks after the show's finale and became the fastest-selling debut single in the United Kingdom.
As a teenager, Young studied politics at the University of Exeter before moving to London, where he pursued a musical theatre degree at the Arts Educational School. Although enrolled in a three-year programme, Young put his studies on hold in late 2001 to become a contestant on Pop Idol. After winning the competition the following year, he released his debut album From Now On (2002) which went to straight to number one. Friday's Child (2003) followed one year later and enjoyed greater popularity, eventually going platinum five times in the UK and spawning three top five singles. Achieving similar success, the album's successors include the multi-platinum Keep On (2005) and platinum Let It Go (2008) with his most recent release Echoes (2011) becoming his third UK number-one album.
Paul Hollywood (born 1966) is a baker and celebrity chef. He has worked as a baker since taking up the career at his father's bakery as a teenager and has gone on to become head baker at a number of hotels around Britain. After returning from working in Cyprus, he began appearing in guest spots on a number of British television shows on both BBC and ITV channels. Since 2010 he has appeared as a judge on BBC2's baking show The Great British Bake Off. He runs his own artisanal baking business, which supplies stores such as Harrods.
Hollywood was born in 1966 in Wallasey. He studied sculpture at the Wallasey School of Art and quit the course to start work as a baker, first in his father's bakery on the east coast of England and then in other bakeries on Merseyside. He went on to become head baker at a number of hotels, including the The Dorchester, Chester Grosvenor and Spa and the Cliveden Hotel. He then left the UK for Cyprus, where he worked at two resorts.
He has appeared in guest spots on a number of television shows, including BBC One's The Generation Game, The Heaven and Earth Show, and ITV's This Morning, and The Alan Titchmarsh Show. Since the show launched in 2010, Hollywood has been a judge on the BBC2 baking show The Great British Bake Off. In this capacity he has been described as the "antidote" to judges such as Len Goodman or Simon Cowell in other reality TV programmes, on account of his straightforward and honest manner and because his judging is restricted purely to the finished product. His partnership with Mary Berry has been described in The Guardian as being the "secret weapon" of the show, and potentially one of the best judging combinations to have appeared on a reality TV show. He runs his own artisanal bread baking company. The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards named his 2005 book, 100 Great Breads as the "Top Bread and Pastry Book" for that year.
Curtis Stone (born 4 November 1975) is an Australian celebrity chef, author and television personality, nicknamed "The Quiet Terminator" by fans following his performance on The Celebrity Apprentice 3.
He was born in Melbourne, Australia. Stone began cooking with his grandmother at the age of five. He attended Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School. His father, Bryan Stone, is an accountant.
Stone was studying for his Bachelor of Business before deciding his heart was in food. He worked at some top Australian restaurants before leaving to work at various restaurants in London. In Australia, he debuted his cooking career at age 18 at the Savoy Hotel. On completing his qualifications as a chef, Stone began cooking in London under Marco Pierre White at the Café Royal and Mirabelle. He went on to become head chef at White's Quo Vadis.
Stone returned briefly to Australia to make the traveling cooking show Surfing the Menu (on ABC TV) with another chef, Ben O'Donoghue.
No stranger to television, Stone had appeared in a number of cooking programs in the UK, including Dinner in a Box, Good Food Live and Saturday Kitchen. He also hosted the first season of My Restaurant Rules in Australia. Beginning in May 2006, Stone hosted Take Home Chef on TLC in the United States, which went on to become an international hit for TLC.
Plot
Dorothy is carried back to Oz by a green turkey balloon on the final Thanksgiving she is to spend with her aunt and uncle, who are moving to a retirement community. She meets Jack Pumpkinhead, The Hungry Tiger, and Tic Toc (sic), and must stop the evil Tyrone the Terrible Toy Tinkerer (looking suspiciously like John R. Neil's depiction of the Nome King), who brings the balloon to life.

A little bit of love affection,
The demonstration of all I've done for you is all I mean,
Representing what you've come to do
It's such a beautiful time; it's such a beautiful time...
Searching for suffer, you may find what you're looking for,
As it nothing is perfect, the door is released,
As you enter the room, the darkness you see...
But, anyway...
All night long just to figure what you're looking for
You would never tell me, your demons are scared from harm...
You'll never believe, don't matter what I do...
You'll never live, scared about me in you...
Don't let your feelings in time...
Don't let your feelings on time...
Don't let your feelings to time...
Don't let your feelings behind...
But, anyway, anyway, anyway...
Live in a dream
You've got everything you need
But it still hurts inside
The way she led you to believe
All those vicious lies
She told you some things
Same lines she's told me before
But she'll win your trust
Then she'll walk over you
Leave your soul lyin' in the dust
And I know it's so hard to believe
The same thing happened to me
You'll just have to see for yourself
But that woman, she thinks of herself
And nobody else
I finally got mine and now I'm gone
I hope you get yours
'Cause it won't be wrong
What you see is what you get
What you see is what you get
What you see is what you get
What you see is what you get
What you see is what you get
If you do grow
then you must know
when you get so jive
you only half alive
show me right now
that you know how
you can stand up
look in a mirror and sigh
Get your feet wet
run with the jet set
be a good girl
go around the world
but the longer it goes on
the harder you hang on
'til you stand up
look in a mirror and sigh
Tryin' to be cool
you just be the fool
let it be known
you ain't full growed
and it's all right
don't put up such a fight
you can stand up
Sing to the fallen eagle
Helicopters fly
Chase him 'round the mountains
Chase him 'til he dies
They say that it's good sportin'
Shootin' him on the wing
Above the roar and clatter
You can hear your rifle sing
his death song
it won't be long
Sing to the western rancher
The eagle takes his lamb
He's got a thousand others
He don't give a damn
Get up with the sunrise
Everybody gather 'round
Kill him with the first shot
He'll turn and bring you down
down down
crash on the ground
Sing to the noble eagle
Help is on the way
A government team of experts
Is a'rushin' to your aid
I know your not excited
An eagle is no waif
Fly on up to Canada
This country isn't safe
anymore
If you're trav'lin' out west
And you see a dark haired girl
Tell her her love is a'waitin
In the rockies so near
And the mountains is high
As his love it is strong
It's a fine place to be
By his side
She belongs
And they both travelled far
And they both travelled wide
But they travelled alone
With no one to confide
Their love can't grow stronger
Tho' now it is deep
They must trust in each other
Their souls
For to keep
And we all know that people
Ain't made to live lonely
They need to be trusted
And loved by one only
That one special one
Who can just let it be
And remember that Jesus
Gave love

Six more days and I'll be gone
Get on the train, it takes me home
That old train where I belong
Home's gonna feel just fine
That old train is gonna move me down the line.
Yes, I know him and you do too
There's a lot he can do for you
He builds you up and bring you down
Plants your feet right back on the ground
You're so mixed up, your head keeps spinning around.
Ooh, see the light of day
Darkness comes, gonna wash it away
Pretty soon he’ll realise who hides the trip behind an alibi
There's so much inside for both of us
There's no reason to hide and justify
Just love and satisfy
Love and satisfy
Love and satisfy

Well, the people will come from far away
They dance all night til the break of day
The caller hollered the do-si-do
You knew Uncle Pen was ready to go.
Late in the evening at about sundown
High on the hill up and above the town
Uncle Pen played the fiddle, Lordy how it would ring
You hear it talk, you hear it sing.
Well, he played an old tune they called the "Soldier's Joy"
And the one that they called the "Boston Boy"
The greatest of all was the "Jenny Lynn"
To me, that's where good fiddlin' begins.
Late in the evening at about sundown
High on the hill up and above the town
Uncle Pen played the fiddle, Lordy how it would ring
I am a man I live alone
Don't much bother me.
It won't be long
Come a woman who wants to be near
Me and my mountains,
We'll be right here Colorado
Way back east in the dirt and smog
Courted a woman she had a job
Didn't want to leave her adopted home
Guess she was afraid of bein' alone in
Colorado
Way out yonder in tinsel land
Look around hard you might find a real man
Dark-eyed country girl, tears in her eyes
Needs the music of the wind in the pines
Colorado
Many's the time that I've gone astray
The things I'm thinkin' I seldom say
Guess I'm waitin' for that special girl
The one who loves me and loves my world
Colorado
Why can't you hear me
Why can't you see me
How can you be so blind to this feelin' in my heart
Time is a'waistin'
What have I tasted
Can you turn a deaf ear to my call
Both of us bound to lose
Why do we have to choose
Both of us bound to lose
Now can you hear me
Now can you see me
How do you like the fool when he's down
Is that really how you see me
Just a statue making sounds

When i was a young man long ago
i fell in love so hard you know
she was strong, she was pretty
such a pity
new york city took my love away
yes it did
Chances are we're better off you know
this guitar man's life goes on the show
she was strong, she was pretty
such a pity
City junkies cannot taste the day
so the sunken people waste away
she was strong, she was pretty
such a pity
new york city took my love away
My love is gentle thing
She moves with a whispering
She waits for my mind to slow
And then I'm hers to know
Have you seen her love eyes?
Watching me, her love eyes
We lay in Hawaii's sun
The water will make us one
The sleep of peace will come
The end of trouble has begun
Have you seen her love eyes?
And so begins the task
I have dreaded the coming of
For so long
I wait for the sun
To remind my body
It needs restin'
And I must learn to without you now
I must learn to give only part some how
Camping on the edge
Of your city I wait
Hoping someday
You might
Beyond yourself
The shadows on the ceiling
Hard
But not real
Like the bars that cage
You within yourself
And I must learn to without you now
I must learn to give only part some how
And I must learn to without you now
As I cannot learn to give only part some how
All of these cages
Must
And shall be set aside
They will only
Keep
Us from the knowing
Actors
And stages
Now fall before the truth
As they love
Shared
Between us
Remains
...Growing
And I must learn to without you now
Makin' it hard on each other
Makin' it hard on yourself
Makin' it hard on me
Makin' it hard on you
...It's all the same
Chorus:
I'm not the one to tell you what to do
I have no desire to run your life
Do you thing you know what to do
Just don't let nobody tell ya no lies
Could we retire
To a neutral corner
'Cause I'd like a chance
...To make myself... clear...
I said I'm still your friend
I've got a few things I'd love to say
And I'd like to think
That you might want to hear...
For instance the...
Chorus
Blind stubborn pride drove us apart
Can't you see the place we went wrong
You hide in your world
And I'll get lost in mine
All we got left is a song
Chorus
When you decide that you'd like to know
What it is that makes a person go
Standin' by a snowdrift in the pale moonlight
Hitchhikin' west on a highway at night
Tryin' to get to Frisco, lookin' for my girl
Here comes a trucker, hope he don't mind my long curls
I remember years ago hitchin' this same road
Never saw a trucker leave a man out in the cold
No riders sign on the window never meant a thing
Nowadays they just roll on lookin' kind of mean
Kind of makes me wonder, scratch my head and kick the
snow
Four years overseas who are these strangers in my home
Where are the country people, does anybody know
Do you remember the Americans, where did they go
New York City years ago
Tourists in the rain
Singin' on the swing shift
For pennies
Thinkin'bout the bayou
Cajun river song
Almost got my head broke
In Texas
Purple Peacock Honky-Tonk
Eunice, Louisiana
Bourbon whiskey free, son,
Just tune up the piano
Workin' clubs in New Orleans
Bringin' down a dollar
College boys drink beer
And throw the bottles
It's been a long long long way >
I got some more to go>
Don't look at my shadow>
Its behind me> chorus
It's been a long long long way >
In twenty years or so>
Thinkin'bout those times>
Might amuse me>

Play it best I could
Hope you in the stands
Can hear me good
California dreamin' nearly put me down for good
Colorado Rocky Mountains saved my senses
Just as everythings going fine
Lose my grip and slide
Bounce the rock and catch the ball
Bound to fall
Fall stumble or toe the line
See my face and hide
Catch the tears I've cried
From reality it seems I've strayed
Tired of all the silly games I play
Da da da da
From reality it seems I've strayed
Tired of all the silly games I play
Just as everythings going fine
See my life in rhyme
Hear my hand slip from the wall
Bound to fall
Fall, stumble and reaching blind
Oh, how hard I've tried

People they just don't seem to understand
Why is this person but he's just a man
He's seen it high, he's seen it low
He’s traveled miles, he don't know.
Imagination takes him far away
Dreamin' up things he might write down someday
And these people they turn around and say
At least I'm not alone, somebody else speakin’.
He got the world, he got the power
He got the wisdom, he'll never cower
He gonna tell you to tear down the tower
He'll make you pay in the witching hour.
He gets so confused
When he knows he's bein' used
He's so easily abused
And it hurts him so.
When Mr. Dreamer comes up with a new light
To cast on something hidden deep in the night
Heluva nation can be painfully bright
Some people love him for it other say he ain't got no right.
He got the world, he got the power
He got the wisdom, he'll never cower
He gonna tell you to tear down the tower
He'll make you pay in the witching hour.
He gets so confused
When he knows he's bein' used
He's so easily abused
And it hurts him so.
People asleep are easily alone
Come on, wake up, you’re missing on the farm
There’s so much to do that ain’t been done
Come on, the music’s playin’, the day has been gone.
He got the world, he got the power
He got the wisdom, ain’t gonna cower
He gonna ... to tear down the tower
What do we do
Given life
We move around
Solitude
Reach for light
Rich...
Or slight...
We move around
We move around
One searches
For the sake of searching
Clearly then
Stunbling...
Falling...
Lurching...
We move...
We move around
A supurb point of reference detected
becomes absured with a moments reflection
leaves one a simple thought
not sagging with the excess weight
of excess baggage and we move around
We move around
One thinks then
...Jinks
...Then stands at a brink
Finds a key...
And stinking of revelation
...drinking in exaltation
We move...
We move... around
No need
To prove
No one around
No one
...but
You to stand your
...ground
We move around
Don't you know its all right...
...To be wrong thus you grow be amused and be strong
The acceptance of error with grace
Is to refuse to be vain and so afraid of losing face
This fear drives one further into what one thinks
To be a race of life... or death
Or simply take another breath
Of nature's... air now...
Which is fair now...
Which is to be alive
To move
Most of my life I have spent alone
Most of this past year I been searchin' for my home
I met a girl she won't leave my mind alone
If she's listening I hope she understands my song It goes:
Chorus:
If you get lonely
All you gotta
Do is call me
I'll come on the run
Wherever you are
No matter how far
Bless my soul I think I'm fallin' again
I hear my woman she is callin' me again
If she needs me I gotta go she's my best friend
Y'see I promised her and I remember what I said
I said:
Chorus
Most of this life is such a hard road to go down, go down
Count your blessings on the good friends you got hangin' around
It takes two to be friends it takes two to be lovers
Know you got it made when you got one thats the same as the other
Then you say:
If you get lonely
All you gotta
Do is call me
I come on the run
Wherever you are
There's a place
I can get to
Where I'm safe
From the city blues
And its green
And its quiet
Only trouble was
I had to buy it
chorus
And I'll do anything I got to do >
Cut my hair and shine my shoes >
And keep on singin' the blues >
If I can stay here in Johnny's garden >
As the swift bird
Flies over the grasses
Dipping now and then
To take his breakfast
Thus I come and go
And I travel
But I can watch that bird
And unravel
chorus
With his love
And his carin'
He puts his life
Into beauty sharin'
And his children
Are his flowers
and they give me peace
In quiet hours
And it's all in the way you wonder
If you think you're learning how
Pick up your feet, you don't have to pick up a gun
You can prod the sacred cow
'Cause you know the song of love
It's empty now
As it always seems to have been
You can go on home
Used to be down to tear gas and clubs
What do you think about grenades
You know like a frag
Nonsense is as nonsense does
The judge's eagle promenades
And you know the song of love
It's empty now
As it always seems to have been
You can go on home
The good book tells us, "thou shalt not kill"
What is the meaning of this phrase
Is it sometimes right and sometimes wrong
Depends if you're foolish or brave
'Cause you know the song of love
Well, it's empty now
As it always seems to have been
by Stephen Stills and Fuzzy Samuel
Can you see them runnin' their games on my mind
See the wasted energy flyin' by
Whispering shadows standin' somewhere close by
Don't mean nothin' to me I can't see your eyes
Somebody rollin' my stone
How could you leave me alone
Oh darlin' you're on your own
Nobody rollin' my stone
On down the road
And I know I've done the same sort of thing
Hidin' inside myself, can't find my way out again
And the world can get so twisted from Mary Jane
Lookin' back it seems so ridiculously insane
Somebody rollin' my stone
How could you leave me alone
Oh darlin' you're on your own
Nobody rollin' my stone
On down the road
So then what have I got to say to you
Nobody's tryin' to tell you what to do
Then they know when you think of something new
Stills
Could you knock a man down if you didn't like the cut of his clothes ?
Could you put a man away if you didn't want to hear what he knows ?
Well, it's happening here people dying for fear by the droves.
And I know most of you, either don't know what to do
Or you don't believe it's true or maybe singing ‘bout you, who knows ?
And I know most of you, either don't know what to do
You can do what you want to do
You can be who you want to be
Just remember that me and you
Ain't all there is to bein' free
People need love
People need trust
People need one another
And that means us
My sugar baby
Oh, believe me sugar baby
Everyone knows that it ain't easy
But when you get it all together in your heart
It's the easiest thing to do to be pleasin'
Folks ain't made to live apart
People need love
People need trust
People need one another
And that means us
Oh, sugar babe
You may sing it now sugar baby
Sugar babe
You may sing it now sugar baby
Let yourself be open honey learn to bend
Remember everyone gets scared
But I'm still your best friend
When you forget about yourself
And think of things to do
To make me happy then you love me girl
Like I love you
How do turtles talk to one another
They just look, there's no reason to cower
Just like people they're drawn to each other
They don't live in no ivory tower
People need love
People need trust
People need one another
And that means us
My sugar baby
Come on now sugar baby
You know you hear me sugar baby
Come on sweet Rita
You're my sugar baby
Believe me sugar baby
So close, then again so far away
Where are the answers, I hear them everyday
Lovin' you from a distance
Never did make it anyway
So close, then again so far away
Here come little Miss Bright Eyes
Socking it to me everyday
Blues man
Play your hand
Do it right
Come on strong
Don't stay too long
Runnin' wild
Singin' child
Powered sound
Push you hard
Lookin' to get down
Such a waste
Y'left such a space
I shared your dreams
I felt your heart
Did I hear you scream
Runnin' scared
Y'run everywhere
Could not choose
Where to hide
Play the blues
Played it mad
Played it sad
Blues is pain
The way men cry
Like tired rain
Blues is mean
The real thing
Three good men
I knew well
Don't put your business in the street
your brothers and sisters is about all you need
no tellin' who you might meet
it might make you sad, make you feel mad
make you blue, what are you gonna do
The biggest fool of all is me
i play the music for the music you see
for money i do publicity
so i can buy guitars, put a studio in the backyard
you know what it costs me to find another key
And when you get a little bit older
you're carryin' too much weight on your shoulder
share your heavy load come on over
so we go and see, what you're gonna be
don't you try too hard, don't you break your heart
oh yes, wrong, right
i'm tellin' ya, tell me
gonna be all right
Someone right now,
Is leaving their apartment,
Lookin' down at the street,
Wonderin' where there car went.
Someone in a car,
Sittin' at a signal,
In front of a restaraunt,
Starin' through the window at,
Someone right now with,
Their finger in their teeth,
Who could use a little floss.
Right across the street,
There's somebody on the curb,
Who really needs a jacket.
Spent half a grand at a bar getting plastered.
Now hes gotta walk fourteen blocks,
To work at a shop where he's about to get fired.
Someone right now,
Is looking pretty tired,
Starin' at a laptop,
Tryin' to get inspired.
Somebody,
Livin' right across the street,
She's wrote the best things shes written all week,
But her best friend's coughin' up blood in the sink,
Can't even think what happened,
Feeling so confused,
And he knows it looks bad but,
There's nothing he can do,
I wonder what its like to be right there in his shoes.
[Chorus]
But no,
I'm just takin' it in
Out the window of a hotel bedroom again,
Tommorrow I'll be gone,
I dont know when I'll be back,
And this world everything can change just like that,
That,
Just like that,
Just like that that,
Just like that,
Just like that.
Somebody right now is droppin' his vote,
Inside a box and trying not to get shot in his throat.
For the act of freedom,
Right now somebody is stuck in Iraq,
Hopin' that he gets shipped back breathin',
A war that he's not really sure of the reasons,
So we show our support when the press mislead them,
Though we more then remain proud and salute the troops,
Get some I know you boys got some work to do
Meanwhile,
Right now someones 25 to life
And is standin' on the corner,
With their thumb up hitchikin',
Stratching off a lotto ticket,
Hopin' for a real winner,
Sneakin' through the water just to work,
And to eat a real dinner.
Right now someone wishes they were you and I
Instead of second guessin' freedom thoughts of quiet suicide
But right now,
I'm staring at the window,
At a frame with holes in his arms,
And holes in his jeans,
He pulled out his Cigarette and sparked the light,
And walked right around the corner just outta my sight
[Re-Chorus]
But yo,
I'm just takin' it in
From the second story hotel window again,
The TV's on, and my bags are packed,
But in this world everything can change just like that,
Like that,
Like that,
Like that,
[Repeat]
Right now somebody sittin' in the darkness,
Tryin' to figure out how to put some heat in they apartment,
But they got a little matress,
And a little carpet,
And they appreciate it,
Cause some people on a park bench.
You seen them when you rushin' to get to the office,
Wife robbed blind when she comin' from the market.
Right now somebody coming out from the pocket,
Tryin' to dump that rock they run around the block wit' it at,
The same time the cops is raisin' a Glock with ain't for your legs,
And back with some hot shit
Right now somebody strugglin' to stop this man,
Who's kickin' and punchin' and cussin' at the doctors.
Down the hall the child taking his first breath,
The doctors ain't even passed him to the nurse yet,
Yo I wonder if he understands what it's worth yet,
Like the time spent while we here on the earth,
Yet the answer to the question that we all seek,
To be found at the general how all free your fate
Right now it's somebody who ain't eat all week,
That would kill for the shit that you throw away in the street,
I guess ones man's trash is the next man's treaure.
One man's pain is the next man's pleasure,
One say infinity the next say forever,
Right now everybody got to get it together man.
Im just taking it in,
Another strange hotel lobby again,
Put my luggage on my back,
I don't know where I'm at,
I'm in world where we all change just like that,
Like that,
Like that,
Just like that,
Like that,
Just like that,
Just like that,
Just like that.
So many times i've been fooling myself
it's a hard hand to play, falls on nobody else
Those in the city reaching out to grab hold
of something they've only heard about
and never been shown
Who do you turn to and what do you say
when she's got the power and she got the way
does it matter at all who survives and who falls
when we live under darkness and hide behind walls
Why would anyone even try to hold sway
over somebody else in such a small way
Where are the answers to the problems we face
who would teach us about sharing and living in grace
Who do you turn to and what do you say
when she's got the power and she got the way
does it matter at all who survives and who falls
When I was a young man
Standin' in the door
The room was dark and smokey
The smell of death befo' me
Think I'll go down
Mama
Go on down the road
See what's goin' on
Down the road
Lotsa friends and chirren
Layin' in the grass
Hookah makes me crazy
Believe I'm goin' have to pass
Think I'll go down
Mama
Go on down the road
See what's goin' on
Down the road
Then you find your kokane
Start to movin' fast
Trip, stumble, fall, freeze up
Hope your body last
Think I'll go down
Mama
Go on down the road
See what's goin' on
Down the road
Drinkin' plenty good liquor
Bourbon twelve years old
Herowine, just in time
Worst trip that I know
Think I'll go down
Mama
Take a pass
Go on down the road
See what's goin' on
Some people into Jesus
Other people into Zen
I'm just into every day
I don't hide from where I been
I just go down
Mama
Go on down the road
See what's goin' on
Have you got a feelin' botherin' you like a bumble bee
Give yourself room for breathin' love you 'til you're fit to be
Tied... do you need a place to hide
Can you be believin' what they told you yesterday
Looks can be deceivin', you look like you're runnin' away
Why... if you don't stop you'll die
Everyone lookin' at my girl
Everyone thinkin'bout my girl. So tough
Everyone birdoggin' at my girl
You can take her if you got enough
You better fly
The love gangster gonna make y'cry
Policeman on the corner another one down the street
Kinda makes you wonder what you gonna do with your feet
An' it ain't no lie... everybody gonna need a place to hide
Dim lights thick smoke and loud loud music
Is the only kind of life you'll ever understand
Dim lights thick smoke and loud loud music
You'll never make a wife to a home lovin' man
A home and little children mean nothing to you
A house filled with love and a husband that's true
You'd rather have a drink with the first guy you'll meet
And the only home you know is the club down the street
Dim lights, thick smoke...
If I fell in love with you again
Would you simply want it said you once knew me
Could you care enough to follow and see
Just what is it lies between us, why we hide it so deep
I was told by a fried that you miss me
And you try very hard to forget me
And you live your busy life, there's no room for me
Cause the thing you're sure I'd take is your will to be free
Still you wrestle with the chains of your burden
And you're sure when they're gone you can be certain
You can live as you please, give what you sell
Stills
Don't look now, don't heed the warning
It's really of no concern
Don't care the sound, they're only just bombing
Anything left to burn.
Isn't it about time?
Isn't it about time we learned?
Isn't it about time?
Isn't it about time we learned? Yes it is.
Fire flood familiar famine
The jungle so far away
Blood baked into blackened soil
How many tons a day
Isn't it about time?
Isn't it about time we learned?
Isn't it about time?
Isn't it about time we learned?
Isn't it about time?
Isn't it about time we learned?
Isn't it about time?
Isn't it about time we learned?
Why does it have to take so long?
Is it easy not to care?
Seems to me that enemies are fantasies
Somebody else's living nightmare.
Who gonna live? Who gonna die?
Do you want to know?
Does it give you a sense of power
To say yes or no?
Isn't it about time?
Isn't it about time we learned?
Isn't it about time?
Isn't it about time we learned?
Oh .
Isn't it about time?
Isn't it about time we learned?
Isn't it about time?
Fallin' and spinnin'
Losin' and winnin'
Keepin' my head
Watchin' for signals
Wear some uigil
Was I misled
I remember you said that you
Don't want to forget me
It doesn't matter
Which of our fantasies fled
Every tomorrow
Lookin' to borrow
A piece of today
Run a bit faster
Here comes the catcher
Makin' his play
You had better not stay
You will soon be surrounded
It doesn't matter
Which of our fantasies fled
Lonely and winsome
Calling for someone
Living right now
Something is shallow
Ugly and hollow
Doesn't even allow
You to want to know how you might
Live for the living and
Give for the giving. Living
Moment by moment
One day at a time
It doesn't matter
