Arc'teryx Athletes Jason Kruk and Marc-Andre Leclerc travel from Squamish, Canada to El Chalten, Argentina to climb on the legendary spires of the Torre massif. To climb well in the mountains of Patagonia one must have goals beyond the summits themselves. The only guarantees in these harsh peaks are of dynamic conditions and typically horrendous weather. Patagonia Dreamin, a film by AliasCinema, produced by Arc'teryx.
Peninsula Valdes is one of the priorities for naturalists visiting the South American continent, and it is perhaps beacuse this is the place where the observation of the great whales is easyer. Every year during the month of July, the whales arrive to these shores of Patagonia to give birth and raise their calves. His gentle nature makes approaching to them possible to enjoying the wonderful spectacle of his jumps in the sea. Approaching the austral summer, in the month of November, these giants leave the coast of Peninsula Valdes to head south in search of more water rich in krill, their main food. We will also witness the activities of large elephant seals during the breeding of their babies. This is the only continental enclave in the world where this happens. Much of the Patagonian fauna is well represented in Peninsula Valdes. We also approach the guanaco and interesting Patagonian Hare or mara. Running a hundred miles in the backcountry, surfing perfect waves around the world, climbing a world-famous skyline for the first time ever—experiences like these require well-made gear that performs in the toughest conditions. In this short video, Tommy Caldwell, Keith Malloy and Keira Henninger share stories about their favorite things and why they’d rather keep using and repairing those things instead of replacing them with something new. In 1946, importing 25 pairs of beavers from Canada to Chile in order to foster a fur trade in an economically lackluster territory of Patagonia seemed like a smart idea. However, no one would have imagined these incisor-toothed vermin would one day lay waste to Patagonia’s forests. Today, there are roughly 100,000 beavers in the region and their environmental destruction has allegedly led to the most transformative destruction of its southern ecosystem since the last ice age. We traveled to the southernmost tip of Chile to meet the beaver hunters in charge of crudely restoring order to its ecosystem. An arriving swell. Falling snow. Two forces, or one and the same? Two board sports legends, Pipeline master Gerry Lopez and snowsurf pioneer Taro Tamai, have spent a lifetime practicing the art of flow. The Northern Sky digs down to the roots of that shared sensation, as experienced in the mountains above Niskeo, Japan. This Farm League film is the first episode in our Find Away series.

Long considered impossible, coveted by many and attempted by a few, the Fitz Traverse has fueled the imaginations of climbers in Patagonia for decades. Tracing the iconic skyline of Cerro Fitz Roy and its six satellite peaks, it spans four miles and 13,000 feet across snow and ice-covered rock, with epic route finding and endless rapelling. Seizing their chance during a rare extended weather window, Tommy Caldwell and Alex Honnold went big. The pair completed the first ascent in a five-day push during February 2014. Watch the trailer of the upcoming film from Big Up and Sender Films.
Travel video about destination Patagonia in Argentina. Patagonia is a land of endless plains, a fantastic world of ice and rock but also a land of powerful winds and distant dreams. Our journey begins in the deepest south of Argentina, at the 'end of the world' within a natural paradise between both sky and earth. In the Tierra Del Fuego region, Ushuaia is known as the Gateway to Antarctica and is a small town that has experienced a great boom in recent years. It is difficult to believe that not so long ago, nothing but the wooden huts of Anglican missionaries stood there and 400 criminals were forced to build a prison. The Tierra Del Fuego National Park was founded in 1960 and is very accessible. The Rio Pipo snakes through the varied landscape and more than 60,000 hectares cover the border with Chile surrounded by snow covered mountains that survey the land below. By boat we travel to the impressive Glaciar Grey at the southern end of the Patagonian Ice Field, where the ice masses of the glacier meet the waters of the lake and huge chunks of floating ice slowly break away in dramatic fashion. Patagonia is one of the oldest landscapes on Earth, a beautiful world of rock and savannah created out of fire, water, wind and ice and subject to constant change.

http://www.ecocamp.travel - World's 1st Geodesic Dome Hotel Bringing adventurers together in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park * NEW VIDEO * Covering both EcoCamp Patagonia and the expeditions offered to guests during their stay in Patagonia, the aim of this new video is to show the experiences offered to guests during their stay in the unique sustainable domes located right in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park. Some of the exciting new elements covered in the video include EcoCamp's new yoga dome and the first Patagonia Puma Tracking which was a famous success with guests seeing a total of six pumas over four days. Also we were delighted to have the chance to showcase (in such high quality) our new Yoga Dome. With a guest visit from Santiago-based Yoga Instructor Tim Kovacs we managed to shoot beautiful footage in the dome. Tim has been a resident of Chile for almost three years now, and offers yoga classes at the Patagonia clothing store in Santiago. Indeed, this video was made in association with Patagonia Inc and will be shown on screens in their Santiago apparel stores. The team behind this cinematic video is the talented bunch behind Chilean wildlife documentary 'Wild Expectations', including 4-time Emmy award winning director Christian Muñoz-Donoso and the innovative director/producer/adventurer René Araneda. The video was made over a 3-day trip to Torres del Paine National Park in February 2014 and we hope you agree it shows the natural beauty of both EcoCamp and the national park - recently awarded the title of 8th Wonder of the World.

Travel video about destination Patagonia. Patagonia is the most southerly region in Argentina and the second largest state in South America. A dream destination of strong winds, endless plains, glacial landscapes and total isolation at the end of the world. In the Tierra Del Fuego region, Ushuaia is known as the Gateway to Antarctica and is a small town that has experienced a great boom in recent years. It is difficult to believe that not long ago nothing but the wooden huts of Anglican missionaries stood here, those who introduced Christianity to the Fireland Indians in 1869. The Tierra Del Fuego National Park was founded in 1960 and is very accessible. The Rio Pipo snakes through the varied landscape and more than sixty thousand hectares cover the border with Chile surrounded by snow covered mountains that survey the land below. Only a handful of people are allowed to visit Penguin Island, closely supervised by a guide and restricted to well-defined pathways. It is fascinating to watch the Magellan Penguins, which actually bray like donkeys, as they waddle along in true penguin-like comical fashion. From the Lago Nordenskjöld there is a wonderful view of the park’s natural landmark, the two thousand five hundred metre high Torres Del Paine. The remains of a dead guanako indicate that the park is also the habitat of a legendary yet dreaded predator, the puma. Patagonia is an ancient rock and savannah landscape that has been created out of fire, water, wind and ice and is one of the oldest landscapes on Planet Earth. Constantly changing but also frozen in the mists of time itself!

Patagonia Tours, Patagonia Vacation, Visit Patagonia, Patagonia Tourism, Patagonia Holidays Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube 10 things to do in Patagonia 1. Whale-watch in Puerto Madryn ============================ Patagonia offers some of the world's best whale-watching and Puerto Madryn is the place to glimpse them. Its warm, more enclosed waters along the Golfo Nuevo, Golfo San José and the coastline near Caleta Valdés are prime breeding zones for southern right whales between June and mid-December. A standard whale-watching trip lasts an hour and a half, but longer excursions are available too. 2. Outdoor adventures in El Chaltén ============================ El Chaltén's surrounding mountains are prime hiking, rock climbing and horseback riding territory so if you're into outdoor adventure, this is the spot for you. Think mountain traverses, mountain ascents and rock-climbing classes. You can go horse-riding to the pretty valley of R?o de las Vueltas or take a more challenging ride up the Vizcacha hill followed by a barbecue on a traditional ranch. There are also ice-climbing courses and ice treks available. 3. Dinosaur discovery at the Palaeontology Museum ============================ Showcasing the most important fossil finds in Patagonia, this natural-history museum offers outstanding life-sized dinosaur exhibits and more than 1700 fossil remains of plant and marine life. The three-hour guided visits are a walk through time, along a well-designed nature trail past a wealth of exposed fossils dating as far back as the Tertiary, some 40 million years ago. Speaking of dinosaurs... 4. Walk with the pre-historic ==================== The Dinosaur route in northwest Patagonia is a wonderful adventure. The skeletons of the biggest dinosaurs ever to have walked the planet are, palaeontologists insist, buried in this region's red-rock badlands; and discoveries to date in the area have forced scientists to rethink established theories. Find out more about walking the Dinosaur route. 5. Penguin-watch at Punta Tombo ============================ Punta Tombo has a colony of more than half a million Magellanic penguins and attracts many other birds, most notably king and rock cormorants, giant petrels and black oystercatchers. Most nesting areas in the 200-hectare reserve are fenced off: respect the limits and remember that penguins can inflict serious bites. Trelew-based travel agencies run day-long tours but may cancel if bad weather makes the unpaved roads impassable. 6. Explore Cueva de las Manos ============================ The incredible rock art of Cueva de las Manos (Cave of the Hands) was proclaimed a Unesco World Heritage site in 1999. Dating from about 7370 BC, these polychrome rock paintings cover recesses in the near-vertical walls with imprints of human hands, drawings of guanacos and, from a later period, abstract designs. Free guided walks are given every hour by knowledgeable staff. There’s an information centre and a basic confiter?a, but it’s best to bring your own food. 7. Stay at a ranch ============== Estancia Telken offers a welcoming stay in the pretty countryside of Los Antiguos. This 1915 working sheep and horse ranch 25km south of Perito Moreno has about 210 sq km of horseback riding and hiking possibilities, including a worthwhile meander along a creek bed up to the basalt plateau Meseta de Lago Buenos Aires. 8. Escape from it all in Camarones ============================ Camarones takes home the gold for Patagonia’s sleepiest coastal village. Empty beaches are perfect for strolling and the sociable townsfolk are masters of the art of shooting the breeze. It is also the closest hub to the lesser-known Cabo Dos Bah?as nature reserve, where you can visit 25,000 penguin couples and their fuzzy chicks. The very helpful oceanfront tourist office offers maps, good tips on scenic outings and lodging information. 9. Watch glaciers at Parque National los Glaciares ============================ Glaciar Perito Moreno is the stunning centrepiece of the southern sector of Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. Locally referred to as Glaciar Moreno, it measures 30km long, 5km wide and 60m high, but what makes it exceptional in the world of ice is its constant advance – it creeps forward up to 2m per day, causing building-sized icebergs to calve from its face. In some ways, watching the glacier is a very sedentary park experience, but it manages to nonetheless be thrilling. The main gateway town to the park’s southern sector, El Calafate is 80km east of the glacier by road. This is where you’ll find all the operators for tours and activities too.

Kathimerini 2015-03-24Patagonia is a region located at the southern end of South America, territory shared by Argentina and Chile, boasting some of the most dramatic landscapes on Earth. The region comprises the southern section of the Andes mountains to the southwest towards the Pacific ocean and from the east of the mountain range to the valleys it follows south through Colorado River towards Carmen de Patagones in the Atlantic Ocean. To the west, it includes the territory of Valdivia through Tierra del Fuego archipelago.
The name Patagonia comes from the word patagón used by Magellan in 1520 to describe the native people that his expedition thought to be giants. It is now believed the Patagons were actually Tehuelches with an average height of 180 cm (~5′11″) compared to the 155 cm (~5′1″) average for Spaniards of the time.
The Argentine portion of Patagonia includes the provinces of Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut and Santa Cruz, as well as the eastern portion of Tierra del Fuego archipelago and the southernmost department of Buenos Aires province: Patagones. The Argentine politico-economic Patagonic Region includes the Province of La Pampa.
There's a hole in space
Where the demons wait
They control our sounds
When the silence goes
By the time we awake
The desires go on
There's a queen in place
Would decide our course
While the silence waits
Till the silence comes
We dance across the realm
We dance across space
Does a tree like rain?
Smell the lonely waves
To control our signs
When the silence comes
A hero inside
All over this web
Lying inside
All of his wreath
A hero inside
Over his wreath
Waiting inside
Covered in smiles
Loving your steps
Across the realms
Dance above the plains
There's a hole in space
Where your demons wait
To control our sounds
When the silence goes
When the silence goes
We will see ourselves
When the silence goes
When the silence goes
A hero inside, over this wed
