Start today by earnestly asking your Maker to guide your heart to the truth. Look beyond the hype and the false stereotypes and lies you've been told about Islam. Judge for yourself tune into TheDeenShow to really learn the truth about Islam and Muslims. Purpose of life ever Wonder? Islam means submission to the Creator alone. Islam is the belief that there is only One God, whose proper name is Allah, which means the God. Islam is the same message given to all the prophets, from Adam, Noah, Moses, Abraham, Jesus, and finally to the Prophet Muhammad, the last messenger (peace and blessings be upon them). They all brought the same message: worship only God, and stop worshipping human beings and their ideas. Allah is the name of God in Arabic, Arab Christians use the word Allah. Become a Muslim(Any Peaceful person who submits to the Creator alone) Now If you believe there is only One God who should be worshipped, and no one/nothing else has that right but Him, and you believe Muhammad, peace be upon him, was a messenger who brought the same message as all the prophets before him, then you are basically a Muslim. Following the division of Israel and the Assyrian captivity of the northern tribes, the southern kingdom of Judah adopted the pagan traditions of the heathen nation of ancient Babylon. These traditions, with their associated rituals which included human sacrifice, provoked God to judge the southern kingdom, which judgment the prophet Jeremiah forewarned the Jews for a period of forty years, to no avail. The Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem in three stages, from 605 to 586 B.C., in which year the Temple of Solomon was demolished and the remaining Jews were carried into captivity. During the Babylonian captivity, the prophet Ezekiel continued to reprove Judah for its apostasy from the God of Israel and their love affair with Babylon. Note, in the following passage, the Jews’ admiration for the images of rich, brightly attired Babylonian princes, which evoke visual images of the elegant processions of the princes of the Roman Catholic Church attired in their rich and colorful vestments: “...[Jerusalem] increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion, Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity: And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea. And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them. So she discovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakedness: then my mind was alienated from her...” (Ezek.23:14-18) Moreover, as Matthew Henry noted in his commentary on this passage, the kingdom of Judah patterned its own worship after the pomp and pageantry of the Babylonians with whom they had become enamored: “Thus she increased her whoredoms; she fell in love, fell in league, with the Chaldeans. Hezekiah himself was faulty this way when he was proud of the court which the king of Babylon made to him and complimented his ambassadors with the sight of all his treasures, Isa. 39:2. And the humour increased (v. 14); she doted upon the pictures of the Babylonian captains (v. 15, 16), joined in alliance with that kingdom, invited them to come and settle in Jerusalem, that they might refine the genius of the Jewish nation and make it more polite; nay, they sent for patterns of their images, altars, and temples, and made use of them in their worship. Thus was she polluted with her whoredoms (v. 17), and thereby she discovered her own whoredom (v. 18), her own strong inclination to idolatry.” According to two authoritative sources, H.P. Blavatsky and the Jewish Encyclopedia, the Jews also acquired from the Chaldeans their doctrines of Eastern mysticism. These were later developed into a written compendium of esoteric literature known as the Jewish Qabbalah or Kabalah, and in the Middle Ages as the Latin Cabala. “Kabalah (Heb.) The hidden wisdom of the Hebrew Rabbis of the middle ages derived from the older secret doctrines concerning divine things and cosmogony, which were combined into a theology after the time of the captivity of the Jews in Babylon. All the works that fall under the esoteric category are termed Kabalistic.” (Blavatsky, Theosophical Glossary, p. 168) * Subscribe for more Educative & Truth Videos (Like & Share) * https://www.facebook.com/wakeupnationorg * Go to our website http://www.advexon.com WakeUp Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/truebiographyhd/ * Documentary HD Channel --- https://www.youtube.com/user/truedocumentaryhd/
This lecture delivered by Rabbi Elyahu Kin in 2010 discusses the various themes that come together on the Jewish Holiday of Sukkot with an emphasis on the qualities of Joy and Happiness which are important prerequisites in forming a permanent bond with G-d. Rabbi Kin advises how to go about acquiring true spiritual Happiness with valuable lessons learnt by properly observing this Holiday. On this Holiday Jews celebrate by dwelling in a Sukkah - a hut of temporary construction with a roof covering of branches - for seven days and nights. The hut is representative of the miraculous cloud cover that surrounded and protected the Jews from the dangers and discomforts of the desert throughout the forty years journey in the Sinai Desert following the Exodus from Egypt. Ever since, Jews remember G-d's kindness and reaffirm their trust in His providence by dwelling in the Sukkah.
The biblical story of the life of Moses, an adopted Egyptian prince who becomes the deliverer of his real brethren, the enslaved Hebrews, and therefore leads the Exodus to Mount Sinai, where he receives, from God, the Ten Commandments, which play a fundamental role in Judaism and Christianity. They (Ten Commandments) include instructions to worship only God and to keep the sabbath, and prohibitions against idolatry, blasphemy, murder, theft, dishonesty, and adultery. The aesthetic category of the sublime has received increasing attention in scholarship on eighteenth-century German music aesthetics. Yet little consideration has been given to the stipulation of this category in terms of its emancipatory potential and its role in opening up the boundaries of German aesthetics within a broader context of Enlightenment culture and Jewish Haskalah. This paper is concerned with Jewish participation in the negotiation and formulation of German musical and aesthetic discourse in the latter half of the eighteenth century by examining the category of the sublime in music in the writings of Moses Mendelssohn. In light of the deep entrenchment of European musical culture in the theology and practices of Christianity on the one hand, and the lack of a music-philosophical tradition in Judaism on the other, Mendelssohn’s philosophical engagement with music from the mid-1750s onward deserves particular attention against the backdrop of German and Jewish Enlightenment. Through a contrapuntal reading of Mendelssohn’s aesthetic writings and Bible commentary in relation to contemporary theories of music, the paper explicates Mendelssohn’s conceptualization of music as a divine art form that ultimately reflects his ideas about revelation, redemption, and Judaism’s enlightenment, both ancient and modern. By drawing attention to the margins of eighteenth-century German aesthetic thought, I offer a more complex historiographical view of the cultural and ultimately political significance of music to such enlightened Jewish circles as that of Sara Levy and the Itzig family in Berlin.

Identity and Destiny The Book of Exodus: What is bondage and what is freedom? This week we begin the second book of the Torah, the book of Exodus, which tells of the formation of Israel's identity as a nation with a unique destiny. But the Torah is alive, and the account has a contemporary ring: questions, parallels and recurring themes abound. This week's Temple Talk features a lively discussion of the essence ancient and modern bondage, and the paradigm of true freedom which the Torah beckons and guides us to achieve. This game was a bit of a surprise to me. I got it as an extra I didn't really care about through a Humble Bundle, and never really planned on playing it. I'm obsessive of putting all my games in their proper category though, and since I knew nothing about this game, I started it up to see which category it best fit into. I wasn't gonna actually play it, mind you, just put it in a category. The game quickly won me over though. It has the charm of a classic adventure game, and the added charm of the Jewish culture... something I don't recall ever experiencing through a video game. So, starting the game up to see what category it belonged in turned into my first play through. The game isn't very revolutionary, other than the whole Jewish angle, but I found the story to be fun. On my first play through I died, and liked the game enough to play right through it again. This video is my second playthrough. As you can see, it doesn't take long to play through, as this whole video is only about an hour long. My first playthrough took about 2 hours. I think there are more endings than the two I experienced, so there's even more replayability available. The game is listed on Steam for $5 right now, if you're a big fan of adventure games, or the Jewish culture, I'd say it's worth it. I'd be slightly disappointed had I paid full price for it, just because of the length of the game... but it's almost worth it. Any less and I'd say go for it. I thoroughly enjoyed the game for the three hours I played it.

During his recent visit to Israel, President Barack Obama began his itinerary with a viewing of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Officials took this occasion to underscore the continuity from biblical times to the present exemplified by these most ancient of biblical scrolls. Of course, examination of the Dead Sea Scrolls and of the ways they have been understood in ancient and in modern times afford evidence not only of continuity but also of dispute and disagreement. In her Israel Studies Lecture, "Who Wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls and Why Were They Forgotten," Rachel Elior offers an overview of the provenance of the scrolls and her assessment of their significance in both ancient Judaism and modern scholarship. Rachel Elior is John and Golda Cohen Professor of Jewish Philosophy and Jewish Mystical Thought at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Israel Studies Professor for Spring Quarter 2013 at the University of Chicago Divinity School. She is teaching a course at UChicago, "Major Issues in the Study of Jewish Mysticism: Between Kabbalah and Hasidism." Professor Elior is the fourth visiting faculty member at the Divinity School's Religion and Culture in the Twenty-first Century: Perspectives from Israel program, made possible through the generous support of the Israel Studies Project of the Jewish Federation of Chicago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Elior http://pluto.huji.ac.il/~mselio/ http://huji.academia.edu/RachelElior https://www.facebook.com/HebrwUJewishthought https://www.facebook.com/public/Rachel-Elior http://podcast.occsp.org/wp/category/elior-prof-rachel/ http://jbooks.com/secularculture/Elior/Prophets.htm
