Get more things to do in Kuala Lumpur, and travel tips: http://migrationology.com/2014/02/kuala-lumpur-travel-guide-food-lovers/ I'm Mark Wiens and thank you very much for watching this video about a few of the top things to do in Kuala Lumpur, a city that just happens to be one of my favorite cities to visit in Southeast Asia. It's the largest and probably the most important and influential city in Malaysia and truly has some amazing sites to offer. Along with modern skyrise towers like the Petronas Towers, there are still lots of traditional historic buildings as well. The awesome mixture of cultures, the mix of traditional and modern, and very importantly, the outstanding cuisine is what makes Kuala Lumpur such a great city to explore! 1. On this list of top things to do in Kuala Lumpur I first stop by the most famous landmark of the the city: the Petronas Towers. These twin giant sky scrapers are huge, and they literally reach towards the heavens and touch the clouds. On the bottom of the Petronas Towers is a pretty fancy shopping mall while the tops of the towers are filled with offices. On the 41st and 42nd floor, there is a sky bridge which connects the two towers together and which is open for visitors. Years ago, it used to be free entrance but unfortunately now they have started to charge a rather steep 80 Malaysian Ringgits per person. 2. After the visiting the Petronas towers, number two on the list is the historical district of old Kuala Lumpur. Visiting and walking around the area is one of the top things to do in Kuala Lumpur and you shouldn't miss the opportunity. From Merdeka Square to the old railroad station, you'll see some amazing architecture and buildings. Another must visit is the National Mosque, which is known as Masjid Negara. With a capacity of 15,000, this is the central and most visited mosque in the city. 3. The Menara KL Tower, along with the Petronas Towers, is one of the dominating features of Kuala Lumpur's skyline. At 421 meters in height, it's one of the world's tallest communications towers. I was lucky enough to be invited to the annual BASE jumping event which was held at the KL Tower so I had a pass to go to the top for the incredible view and to see the event (http://migrationology.com/2012/10/jordan-kilgore-base-jump-kuala-lumpur/). The KL Tower also offer look out viewpoints and a number of restaurants where you can dine with an incredible view. 4. Number 4 is Little India which is better known as Brickfields. Kuala Lumpur is home to many Indian's many from the south of the country. Brickfields is a popular place to browse, shop for all sorts of Indian products and most importantly to eat at some seriously delicious Indian restaurants. If you're looking for good Indian food in Kuala Lumpur, check out this restaurant: http://migrationology.com/2012/11/south-indian-food-kuala-lumpur-vishalatchi/ 5. Chinatown, located on Petaling Street, is one of the biggest Kuala Lumpur attractions. It's mostly known for it street shopping and restaurants. You can find all sorts of fake brand names and nearly everything imaginable. 6. Thean Hou Temple is one of the most impressive Daoist temples in Kuala Lumpur. It's free to visit and offers insights into the Hainanese community in the city and there are also great views of the city. 7. Central Market, is a top tourist shopping attraction in Kuala Lumpur. Though many of the products are rather touristy, there are some good things waiting to be found. 8. Within central Kuala Lumpur are the KL Lake Gardens and Bird Park. It makes a great tropical escape to the bustling city life. 9. The Batu Caves, located just outside the central part of the city is one of the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur. The caves and shrines are one of the most sacred Hindu sites outside of India. 10. Chow Kit Market is the central fresh wet market in the city. Everyday thousands of shoppers get their Malaysian food ingredients at this interesting market. 11. Malaysian food is the ultimate attraction to visiting Kuala Lumpur. With a great mixture of local Malay, Chinese, and Indian, there's no shortage of incredible dining that will leave you satisfied and hungry for more! For myself, eating is one of the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur! Hope you enjoyed this list and hope you have a wonderful visit! Music in this video is Feel Free by Joe Sacco. Travel video about destination Malaysia. Malaysia is an exotic world located in the Far East, full of tradition and history. We begin our journey in Malacca, the oldest city on the southwest coast of the Peninsular Malaysia that boasts six hundred years of history. Both Portuguese and Jesuit settlers lived here for a hundred and thirty years and introduced their culture to the region. The city’s history dates back to 1403 when Hindu prince, Paramesware of the Sri Vijaya Realm in Sumatra, established a sultanate. The Chinese-dominated area of the city extends across the opposite banks of the river where the mainly two storey residential and business premises are densely packed together. In contrast, the Cheng Hoon Temple is one of the oldest temples in Malaysia and nearby is the Kampung Kling Mosque which is of ancient Sumatran design. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s modern capital city, is relatively young. It originated in the middle of the nineteenth century at the junction of two rivers. Chinese pioneers discovered an abundance of minerals here. Since then, however, things have much improved and Kuala Lumpur is now one of the cleanest cities in the world with two steel towers as its unmistakeable landmark, connected by an impressive bridge. Since 1926, tea has been cultivated in the Cameron Highlands where the mild and rainy climate is ideal for its growth. British surveyor, William Cameron, discovered this region in 1885 and soon afterwards its wooded hills were transformed into tea plantations that now attract tourists from all over the world. Sarawak is located in Borneo, the third largest island on the planet. We start our journey through this Malayan federal state, in the northwest of the island, in the capital, Kuching. The British Empire had various buildings constructed in the city but its ethnic groups were content to remain within their own surroundings. Malaysia is like a magnificent fairy tale, a melting pot of various cultures and ethnic groups amid abundant tropical vegetation. Although Malaysia has changed, it has not forgotten the rich traditions of its indigenous tribes yet it is now a country that is travelling into a new age.

Part Human part animal genetic hybrids A parahuman is a human-animal Genetic engineering hybrid or chimera hybrid. For Years Scientists have done extensive research into the mixing of genes or cells from different species, e.g. adding human (and other animal) genes to bacteria and farm animals to mass-produce insulin and spider silk proteins, and introducing human cells into mouse embryos. Para humans have been referred to as "human-animal hybrids" in a vernacular sense that also encompasses human-animal chimeras. The term parahuman is not used in scientific publications. The term is sometimes used to sensationalize research that involves mixing biological materials from humans and other species. According to Daily Mail, as of 2011, more than 150 human-animal hybrid embryos were created in British laboratories since the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008. With respect to animal-human mixing, no evidence of any entities being born has ever been recorded but new developments in crossing the species barrier may no longer limit animal-human mixtures to the domain of mythology. Indeed, procedures have recently been developed by scientists which mix human and animal biological elements to such an extent that it questions the very concept of being entirely human. For example, concern for animal-human mixtures was raised in 2001 by the UK Animal Procedures Committee which indicated in its Report on Biotechnology that though questions may exist as to the likely fate of such animal-human mixtures, there may be a deeper repugnance at the thought of their very existence. Indeed, The Regulation of New Biotechnologies and published in 2004, that the crossing of the animal-human boundary was, in some respects, quite complex and subtle but that the mixing of human and animal tissues and materials was not by itself objectionable. In other words, in the context of therapy and preventive medicine, the President's Council accepted that the transplantation of animal parts to replace defective human ones could be considered as ethical. Moreover, the Council had no overriding objection to the insertion of animal-derived genes or cells into a human body - or even into human fetuses.

While the abundance of cheap foreign labor in a country with staggeringly low unemployment rates may seem to be a blessing on the surface, some economists are pointing out the hidden economic dangers of long-term dependency on such workers.

In our latest travel video we showcase a series of our favorite travel photos from Malaysia as a slideshow sequence highlighting our time traveling in Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Melaka, Penang and George Town. The near month we spent in Malaysia was a great way for us to start our backpacking adventures around SE Asia. Some of the highlights in Kuala Lumpur included seeing the Petronas towers (both during the day and at night),visiting the Merderka Square (Independence Square) along with having an adventure filled morning exploring KL Bird Park. In Malacca (Melaka), we loved wandering around Chinatown, taking a rickshaw tour, eating dim sum, taking a riverboat tour and visiting the infamous Jonker Street Night Market. In Penang (George Town), we took the time to wander around the Clan Jetties, visit the Botanical Gardens, get lost in meandering through alleyways featuring crumbling colonial mansions and stuffing our faces with Tandoori Indian set meals. You'll notice photos featuring Malaysian food, Malaysian culture, Malaysian people along with personal photos of us. I hope this slideshow series along with our extensive video collection from Malaysia will inspire you to visit in the near future. This is part of our Travel in Malaysia series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Malaysian culture, arts, food, religion and people. http://nomadicsamuel.com/city-guides/kuala-lumpur Proudly presented by: http://nomadicsamuel.com , http://smilingfacestravelphotos.com , http://thatbackpacker.com & http://backpacking-travel-blog.com All photos and video taken by Samuel Jeffery (Nomadic Samuel) and Audrey Bergner (That Backpacker). In this travel video we visit Dataran Merdeka Sqaure (Independence Square) in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Although it was disgustingly hot and humid we still enjoyed ourselves marveling a the impressive architecture and massive flag. As a travel tip we recommend coming early in the morning to avoid the midday heat and humidity. Merdeka Square (or Dataran Merdeka, Jawi: داتارن مرديك) is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is situated in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. It was here the Union Flag was lowered and the Malayan flag hoisted for the first time at midnight (time: 12:00 AM) on August 31, 1957. Since then, Merdeka Square has been the usual venue for the annual Merdeka Parade (National Day Parade). Literally Independence Square, it was formerly known as the Selangor Club Padang or simply the "Padang" and was originally the cricket green of the Selangor Club (now Royal Selangor Club). The Sultan Abdul Samad Building, which grandly overlooks the Merdeka Square, is one of the most significant landmarks built by the British. Designed by A. C. Norman who was inspired by Indian Moghul architecture, this building was completed in 1897 and housed the Selangor State Secretariat and later the Supreme Court before being abandoned for a number of years. It now houses the Ministry of Heritage, Culture and Arts.[1] The field at the Merdeka Square's immediate vicinity was officially renamed 'Dataran Merdeka' on 1 January 1990 in conjunction of Visit Malaysia Year 1990. Merdeka Square was the starting line of The Amazing Race Asia 1. On August 31, 2007, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi shouted 'Merdeka!' on midnight celebrations, where thousands of Malaysians celebrated 50 years of nationhood. Surrounding the square are many buildings of historical interest. Just beside the square is the Sultan Abdul Samad Building currently the office of the Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture of Malaysia. Opposite the square is the famous Royal Selangor Club Complex built in 1884 as a meeting place for high-ranking members of the British colonial society.[3] To the South is the former National History Museum which used to house a vast collection of historical items. The collection has recently been moved to Muzium Negara. To the North is the St. Mary's Anglican Cathedral, currently the Diocese of West Malaysia and the see of the Bishop of West Malaysia. A 95-meter flagpole, one of the tallest in the world, marks that spot with a flat, round black marble plaque. It is located at the southern end of the square.[4] Nearby is also the original Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, which is still operational. However the main hub has recently been moved to KL Sentral in 2001. The Sultan Abdul Samad Building (Malay: Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad; Jawi: باڠونن سلطان عبدالصمد) is located in front of the Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square) and the Royal Selangor Club, by Jalan Raja in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The structure takes its name from Sultan Abdul Samad, the reigning sultan of Selangor at the time when construction began: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merdeka_Square,_Kuala_Lumpur This is part of our Travel in Malaysia series. In this travel video we take a train ride from Kuala Lumpur to Butterworth and then a commuter ferry from Butterworth to Penang (George Town), Malaysia on a long full-day journey. Given that it was our first train trip in Malaysia we were ecstatic to have a 7 hour journey. Boarding from KL Sentral we headed up north passing several cities, countryside areas, jungle and mountainous regions. Overall, the scenery was stunning and we nearly had the train to ourselves sharing a cabin with only a few families and some curious cute children who came over to play with us. Along the way we snacked on some food and ended up purchasing a box of mixed rice that we shared together. Our train was delayed by nearly one hour meaning it came closer to eight hours than the scheduled seven. Upon arriving in Butterworth we walked a short distance and then boarded a passenger ferry to Penang (George Town). Overall, we had a great trip but we certainly were tired and in need of food upon arrival. We are at KL Sentral and it is really early in the morning and today we are boarding a train that is going to take us all the way up to Butterworth and from there we are taking a ferry over to Penang. I am super excited today because this my first time taking the trains in Malaysia. Train transportation is by far my favorite way of getting around in any country. It appears our journey today is going to be about seven hours, so we've got a nice long train trip ahead of us. We're on the train now and as you can see we've almost got the whole place to ourselves. We've been on the train for an hour and a half now and we've already devoured all of the snacks we brought along except for the peanuts, so we've decided to purchase a little rice-y goodness over here. Hungry boy, what are we having? Well, we have fried rice. Your favorite. We are on a very exciting train journey. We have been traveling for a few hours now and we are just crossing through the jungle. I want to live in a jungle. You seem like a jungle kind of girl. Yes, in a shack in the jungle. With me? Maybe? Whatever. We're finally getting close to Butterworth here. We've been on a journey that has actually been over seven hours. The train is slightly delayed and it looks like we're about 20 kilometers outside of Butterworth. From there we are going to grab a quick bite to eat and then we're off on a twenty minute ferry to get to Penang our final destination. It has been a very long journey and how am I going to reward myself by eating Indian food. Oh yeah. The first thing we're doing in Butterworth according to you. We are. I want Indian food. Butter me up here in Butterworth. Right over here is the Eastern Oriental Express train - one of the luxury trains that goes all of the way from Singapore to Bangkok. It is a train we both really want to take someday. We are almost at our destination. We are taking the ferry from Butterworth to Penang. We're pulling in to the port now and this is the end of journey. It has been a full day event. We woke up at four AM this morning to work on blogging projects. We left the guesthouse by seven. We hopped on the train by eight forty and it is now almost five thirty. We are completely knackered. We are starving. We are going to get a big plate of food. I don't care what it is. Indian food! Whatever? I don't care. We're going to eat. We're going to feast and we're going to drop off our bags wherever we're staying and we're going to chillax the rest of the day. This is part of our Travel in Malaysia series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Malaysian culture, arts, food, religion and people. When I think of the most under-rated countries to visit in SE Asia Malaysia comes to mind. With a rich culture and diversity - unlike any other nation in Southeast Asia - there is something for everyone. Some of my favorite places to visit in Malaysia include Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Penang and the Cameron Highlands. The following is a top attractions travel guide for the best things to do in Malaysia: 1) Few architectural wonders can compete with the Petronas Towers. Equally as impressive by day as they are at night, it is an absolute must landmark to visit in Kuala Lumpur. 2) Night markets in Malaysia are well worth a visit. My personal favorite is the Jonker Street Night Market located in Melaka. On the weekends Jonker street shuts down to traffic and turns into a sea of people and stalls selling everything from trinkets to street food. While we were there we made sure to cool down with Cendol, which is our favorite Malaysian street food snack. 3) The Batu Caves are of my favorite attractions that is absolutely free! Taking the commuter train from KL Sentral we arrived early in the morning before all of the package tourists. The caves themselves, an important Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Murugan, are worth the 272 step climb to the top. You'll notice many of cheeky monkeys along the way. 4) The KL Bird Park is a quirky attraction worth checking out. Its claim to fame is being the largest walk in aviary. Home to thousands of birds you'll be able to spot peacocks, flamingos and many other exotic ones. It's not the cheapest attraction but I would say it it worth the price of admission if you plan to stay for several hours. 5) While you're in Georgetown, Penang consider visiting a recently opened cat cafe! The Purrfect Cat Cafe in George Town is home to some adorable cats just waiting to be petted. For the price of a small meal or drink you'll be able to sit down and play with them. 6) Whenever I head back to Malaysia I can't help but break out in a smile because I know I'm going to get a chance to eat dim sum again. My favorite place is in George Town and along with Chinese tea I can't really control myself. 7) When I mentioned Malaysia was a diverse country, I was referring to the people and cuisine. Indian food is one of my favorite cuisines and having the opportunity to eat a delicious banana leaf thali set is something I wouldn't miss for the world. Loaded up with rice, dal, vegetables, roti, papad, chutney and pickles. Coming in at only 22 Ringgit (for the two of us) it's an inexpensive but delicious meal. 8) Want to visit the biggest Buddhist temple in all of Southeast Asia? Would you be surprised to learn that it is in Malaysia? Kek Lok Si temple, also known as the Temple of Supreme Bliss, is located in Air Itam. The temple combines Mahayana Buddhism and Chinese rituals. To visit take bus 201, 203 or 204 from Komplex Komptar in the heart of George Town, Penang. 9) The Petronas Towers are brilliant by day but 'wow' do they ever shine bright at night. They have really cool light shows that takes place. 10) You can't visit Malaysia without having Roti Canai for breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or a snack. An Indian flat bread, similar to a pancake, it comes in all different sizes, shapes and flavors. Our two favorites being cheese and banana. Dip in curry using either you hands or utensils. 11) While in Malacca it's a great idea to take a Melaka River Cruise at night as the city really lights up at night. You'll notice wonderful old colonial architecture and street art along with traditional homes alongside the Kampong. 12) The Clan Jetties are an important part of George Town's heritage and the last bastions of old Chinese settlements. 13) Georgetown is one of the most hot and humid cities I've ever visited. If you're looking to escape that for a while head over to the Botanical Gardens just outside of the city. In shady conditions you'll have the opportunity to walk around this massive park where you'll surely spot monkeys and other wildlife. 14) When visiting Malacca be sure to check out a Baba-Nyonya restaurant. A mixture of Chinese and Malaysian cuisine at its finest. Some of our favorite dishes included Nyonya Laksa, Rojak and Popiah. 15) Bling. Bling. That's not the sound of a horn but instead the decorations on a rickshaw in George Town. For around 30 to 40 Ringgit you can take a full one hour city tour. It certainly beats walking around in the heat. Highlights for us included going through Little India. This is a Kuala Lumpur travel video showcasing our favorite things to do along with what we consider to be the top attractions in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From this travel video guide you should get an idea of an itinerary or schedule you can plan activities around while based in KL. We first venture off to marvel at the magnificent Petronas Towers. These otherworldly towers are the most impressive buildings I've ever seen in my entire life. They don't look like they belong on planet earth. Equally as impressive during the day as they are at night, I recommend visiting the towers frequently and scouting out various vantage points to take photos. Next we tour around the Independence Square (Merdeka Square) located nearby Chinatown. The impressive architecture and enormous flag are standout features. If you come early enough you can beat the tourist buses and at night the buildings really shine. No trip to Kuala Lumpur would be complete without hopping on and off the LRT sky train. At night we took a ride and captured some high speed footage. You get a glimpse of the Petronas Towers before we head into the tunnels. Just 13 km north of KL is a special Hindu Shrine called the Batu Caves. Dedicated to Lord Murugan it's a wonderful free attraction worth exploring. While visiting you'll notice your share of cheeky monkeys roaming about. Finally for breakfast, lunch or dinner consider having roti canai (flat bread) along with curry. My personal favorite is banana roti along with watermelon juice. This is part of our Travel in Malaysia series. All we ever hear about Penang was EATING! Much to our surprise there was a lot more to do in Penang than just eat until you pop. Walking through the quaint streets of Georgetown was an adventure in itself. Penang is definitely a way different vibe compared to Kuala Lumpur. I got way more of a typical South East Asian city vibe out of Penang, and by that I mean, the smells, dirty streets, critters etc.. However, this didn't detract from an excellent experience of the city. The first thing we did was rent a motorbike and get a lay of the land. Aside from the beaches (which were nowhere near as nice as Langkawi: watch our video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqjZrlsQzBQ) most action in Penang takes place in and around Georgetown. Georgetown has famous street art scattered through the city and we spent an entire day on a scavenger hunt to find all these different murals and sculptures. They were really worth spending a day hunting down. Penang Hill was a great view of the city, but as you can see in the video the tram ride to the top is less than stellar. You are crammed in like sardines and once you get to the top there isn't much going on other than to get an excellent view and pictures of the city of Penang. Eating.... of course, this is what everyone will tell you to do in Penang and there was no shortage of awesome Indian Food. We ate the same Indian food 5 meals in a row I think. Aside from Indian there are several excellent Dim Sum places to check out. This was one of our first times eating Dim Sum and it was an experience to say the least. Luckily we had a friendly staff member explain how this works. If you don't know, it goes something kind of like this: Sit down at a table in a jam packed open air restaurant and several carts will be wheeled around continuously. As a cart approaches pick your Dim Sum. I lost count of how many different options there were, but our favorites were definitely the shrimp dim sum and the BBQ bun. A Travel Video of Malaysia and Thailand, from my mother's eyes. Making this video we are just helping her to keep her memory alive forever with her. She had Traveled from Assam to Malaysia and touched Thailand as well. Covering most of the “Places to visit” in Malaysia and Thailand, and “Point of interest” in Kuala Lumpur, she enjoyed the trip for 45 days.
Travel video about destination Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's modern capital city, is relatively young. It originated in the middle of the 19th century at the junction of the Gombak and Kelang Rivers. The Petronas Twin Towers are one of the city's main landmarks. Each tower is 452 metres tall connected by a breathtaking bridge. The façade of this unique architectural gem is particularly splendid in bright sunlight or when illuminated at night. The old Masjid Jamek Mosque is situated in the centre of the city on the precise spot where the city was founded. Several prayer halls, and an inner courtyard that contains palm trees, make the mosque into a tranquil oasis. The Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the largest building in Merdeka Square, extends for more than 200 metres. This splendid Moorish style building with onion-shaped towers and a central clock tower was designed in 1897 by architect A.C. Norman. Malaysians dance at every opportunity. Although traditional clothing and dance styles change from region to region, they always convey the same expressions of love, emotion and passion. Traditional festivals also feature dances where the men and women dance together without touching. The Zoo, Negara provides a good insight into the animal kingdom of Malaysia and South East Asia. The enclosures are extremely spacious. From the ostrich to the imposing Seladang wild buffalo, there are also rare animals such as the orangutan and tapir. Hardly any other capital city on earth offers as many contrasting sights and multicultural impressions as here. Tradition, history, the past, present and future, each is harmonically united in the pulsating metropolis that is Kuala Lumpur.
Kota Kinabalu, the capital of the state of Sabah sits on the northwest coast of Borneo facing the beautiful South China Sea. The largest urban centre in Sabah, KK - as it is affectionately called - is a popular gateway for travelers visiting Kinabalu National Park and the spectacular Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. But there are plenty of reasons to linger in this friendly city by the sea. By day visitors can explore KK's many natural and cultural attractions. As the sun sets and the cool breeze washes inland, locals and visitors head for the popular KK Waterfront and Boardwalk for its huge selection of eateries, pubs and cafes. Fabulous night markets such as the famous Filipino Market by the waterfront never fails to pull in the crowd. Close to Sabah's many natural wonders, and a welcoming, laid-back destination in it's own right, it's easy to see why Kota Kinabalu is one of Malaysia's most loved cities.

The "Stormwater Management And Road Tunnel" or "SMART Tunnel", E38 is a storm drainage and road structure in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and a major national project in the country. The 9.7 km (6.0 mi) tunnel is the longest stormwater tunnel in South East Asia and second longest in Asia. The main objective of this tunnel is to solve the problem of flash floods in Kuala Lumpur and also to reduce traffic jams along Jalan Sungai Besi and Loke Yew flyover at Pudu during rush hour. There are two components of this tunnel, the stormwater tunnel and motorway tunnel. It is the longest multi-purpose tunnel in the world. In 2011, the SMART tunnel received the UN Habitat Scroll of Honour Award for its innovative and unique management of storm water and peak hour traffic. Big News Network 2015-04-16Malaysia (i/məˈleɪʒə/ mə-LAY-zhə or i/məˈleɪsiə/ mə-LAY-see-ə) is a federal constitutional monarchy in Southeast Asia. It consists of thirteen states and three federal territories and has a total landmass of 329,847 square kilometres (127,350 sq mi) separated by the South China Sea into two similarly sized regions, Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo. Land borders are shared with Thailand, Indonesia, and Brunei, and maritime borders exist with Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines. The capital city is Kuala Lumpur, while Putrajaya is the seat of the federal government. In 2010 the population exceeded 27.5 million, with over 20 million living on the Peninsula.
Malaysia has its origins in the Malay Kingdoms present in the area which, from the 18th century, became subject to the British Empire. The first British territories were known as the Straits Settlements, whose establishment was followed by the Malay kingdoms becoming British protectorates. The territories on Peninsular Malaysia were first unified as the Malayan Union in 1946. Malaya was restructured as the Federation of Malaya in 1948, and achieved independence on 31 August 1957. Malaya united with Sabah, Sarawak, and Singapore on 16 September 1963, with si being added to give the new country the name Malaysia. However, less than two years later in 1965, Singapore was expelled from the federation. Since independence, Malaysia has had one of the best economic records in Asia, with GDP growing an average 6.5% for almost 50 years. The economy has traditionally been fuelled by its natural resources, but is expanding in the sectors of science, tourism, commerce and medical tourism.

Actually, this directory is intended to accept any incoming files
from anybody who wishes to contribute something. Every person who wishes to
put something here is welcomed to do so; just use the `put' command and rename
the file with a word or sentence common to all Malaysians. The Internet
system and Internet Relay Chat (IRC) have made possible for us Malaysians to
interact with each other and there might be some other ways which make use
of electronic communication networks. Files in the ftp directories are free
to anyone; just as anybody should be free to put something here. Wishing you
all the best, having your hard time in colleges!!:)
