First you come up with a statement which looks somewhat true for anyone who's not well informed with the topic. The Economist says: "Judging by the lack of economic news in Russia, a crisis has arrived...State television doesn't report facts, it conceals them." And this is absurd. Well, we reveal the headlines they conveniently missed or forgot to show you. "In the Now" with RT's Senior Political correspondent Anissa Naouai is the first dedicated nightly Primetime show to air live out of our Moscow headquarters. Host Anissa Naouai has worked in the field for almost a decade and has reported from over 80 cities across the globe. Now from Monday to Thursday viewers can enjoy fresh, honest, and hard-hitting news coverage on some of the world's most pressing issues with one of RT's most experienced journalists . It 2010, the ash cloud from an unpronounceable Icelandic volcano brought Europe to a standstill. In this Volcano Live special, Kate Humble heads for the source of the ash to ask whether we should now be preparing for more of the same. On her journey, Kate meets the scientists monitoring the country's most dangerous volcanoes, and investigates the biggest eruptions in Iceland's past - including a catastrophic 18th-century event that killed thousands in Iceland and also appears to have led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people across Britain and Europe. In 2010, it became clear that Britain is well within the reach of big Icelandic eruptions. To help prepare for the next one, what can we learn from the people who live right alongside them? Lyce Doucet & David Eades present this 30-minute edition of BBC World News, recorded at 1900hrs SGT on 2015. The two main suspects in the Islamist attack on Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris are said to have robbed a service station in the north of France. They stole food and petrol, firing shots as they struck at the roadside stop near Villers-Cotterets in the Aisne region, French media report. France has observed a minute's silence for the 12 people killed at the office of the satirical magazine. Earlier in the day, a gunman shot dead a policewoman in southern Paris. A second person was seriously injured in the attack in the suburb of Montrouge, after which the gunman fled. It is unclear if the attack is related to the pursuit of prime suspects Cherif and Said Kouachi. The following news article is reproduced from the BBC News online website @ http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-30721677 According to the manager of the service station that was robbed on the RN2 road in Aisne at about 10:30 (09:30 GMT), the attackers fit the description of the two men, and were heavily armed with Kalashnikovs and rocket-propelled grenade launchers. They are said to have driven off in the direction of Paris in a Renault Clio car, apparently the same vehicle hijacked in Paris soon after the Charlie Hebdo attack. According to French commercial channel BFMTV, police are monitoring all of the main entry roads into the capital. During the national silence, the bells of Notre Dame cathedral in the capital tolled in mourning. French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve warned against jumping to conclusions after the pre-dawn shooting in Montrouge. The gunman was armed with a machine-gun and a pistol and wore a bullet-proof jacket, police sources told AFP news agency. A local resident, Ahmed Sassi, described a "scene of panic". He said he had seen a police officer standing and then a man dressed in dark clothes who ran up and shot the officer "at point black range". "I saw the officer fall and a colleague call for help," Mr Sassi said. Overnight, seven people believed to be connected to the Kouachi brothers were detained in the towns of Reims and Charleville-Mezieres, as well as in the Paris area. Cherif Kouachi was sentenced in 2008 to three years in prison for belonging to a Paris-based group sending jihadist fighters to Iraq. 'We killed Charlie Hebdo' Paris has been placed on the highest terror alert and extra troops have been deployed to guard media offices, places of worship, transport and other sensitive areas. On Wednesday, eight journalists - including the magazine's editor - died along with a caretaker and a visitor when masked men armed with assault rifles stormed the Charlie Hebdo offices during an editorial meeting. Eleven people were also wounded, some seriously. Two policemen were also killed. Witnesses say the gunmen shouted "we have avenged the Prophet Muhammad" and "we killed Charlie Hebdo", as well as "God is Great" in Arabic. The attackers fled to northern Paris before abandoning their car and hijacking a Renault Clio, police say. The magazine's office was firebombed in 2011. It had angered some Muslims by printing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad as part of its irreverent take on news and current affairs. Vigils were held through the night in Paris and cities worldwide in tribute to the dead. Many demonstrators held up placards reading "Je suis Charlie" (I am Charlie) in solidarity with the victims. French President Francois Hollande said the country's tradition of free speech had been attacked and called on all French people to stand together. Piles of pens - symbolising freedom of expression - and candles were laid across the Place de la Republique square in Paris where thousands of people had gathered. Cartoon tributes are circulating on social media, sending out the message of press freedom. One Dutch cartoon plays on 9/11 Twin Towers imagery, showing a plane flying towards two upright pencils. Thursday's national day of mourning is only the fifth held in France in the past 50 years.

He recounted the event just as he did in testimony to the grand jury, telling Stephanopoulos that Brown was aggressive and combative with him. Wilson rebutted witness testimony that he attempted to pull Brown into his car, and said there was a “barrage of swinging and grabbing and pulling for about ten seconds.” After Wilson grabbed his gun from Brown and Brown ran, Wilson chased after him. Stephanopoulos asked why he didn’t just stay in the car. Wilson said, “My job isn’t to just sit and wait.” But after he chased Brown, Brown stopped, then turned around and charged at Wilson. And Wilson said he was worried “he would kill me.” Stephanopoulos asked him if he could have done anything differently and if this would have ended any differently if Brown was white. Wilson said no to both counts. Darren Wilson Interview With George Stephanopoulos, Darren Wilson speaks out, Darren Wilson, George Stephanopoulos (Politician), interview..

Dover Officer Jeff Davis Goes Wild Singing Taylor Swift Shake It Off Cop Singing 'Shake It Off' Dash Cam Footage Cop Singing 'Shake It Off' Dash Cam Footage Police in Delaware have released dash cam footage of an officer belting out Taylor Swift's Shake It Off as he patrols Dover. The viral video of a cop singing "Shake It Off " while on patrol is NOT legit dash cam footage but if that stops you from watching, then you clearly have no soul. The video has been blowing up the internet Saturday and already racked up over 700K views on YouTube in less than 24 hours but the Dover PD tells us the whole thing was produced despite the chyron saying otherwise. We're told the officers wanted to film their Taylor Swift tribute to celebrate the success of the station's Facebook page ... and show a lighter side of law enforcement.
The first time Darren Wilson ever fired his gun in his five-year career as a police officer was when he shot dead black unarmed teenager Michael Brown, the 28-year-old told ABC News in his first televised interview. The police officer said he has a clear conscience as he was doing his job correctly. Officer Darren Wilson denied that the situation would have been any different if it had been a white teenager. He said that Michael Brown had "immense power" and he thought the teenager could have killed him. Wilson did say that he was sorry for the loss of life but he would not do anything different that day. He says he has a clean conscience over his actions that day. A Dictabelt recording from a microphone stuck in the open position on a motorcycle police officer's radio in the vicinity of the John F. Kennedy assassination in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963, has been used as evidence related to the assassination. The recording, made on a then-common Dictaphone dictation machine that recorded sounds in grooves pressed into a thin celluloid belt, gained prominence among Kennedy assassination conspiracy theorists starting in 1978, and was the only piece of evidence that prompted the House Select Committee on Assassinations to conclude that there was a "high probability" that assassin Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone and the Kennedy assassination was the result of a conspiracy, but later scientific examination discredited this evidence. The recording was made from Dallas police radio channel 1, which carried routine police radio traffic (channel 2 was reserved for special events, such as the presidential motorcade). The open-microphone portion of the recording lasts 5.5 minutes, and begins about 12:29 p.m. local time, about a minute before the assassination at 12:30 p.m. Verbal time stamps were made periodically by the police radio dispatcher and can be heard on the recording. Richard Sprague, an expert on photographic evidence of the assassination and a consultant to the HSCA, noted that the amateur film the HSCA relied on showed that there were no motorcycles between those riding alongside the rear of the presidential limousine and H.B. McLain's motorcycle, and that other films showed McLain's motorcycle was actually 250 feet behind the presidential limousine when the first shot was fired, not 120 to 138 feet. No motorcycle was anywhere near the target area. In 2003, ABC News aired the results of its investigation on a program called Peter Jennings Reporting: The Kennedy Assassination: Beyond Conspiracy. Based on computer diagrams and recreations done by Dale K. Myers, it concluded that the sound recordings on the Dictabelt could not have come from Dealey Plaza, and that Dallas Police Officer H.B. McLain was correct in his assertions that he had not yet entered Dealey Plaza at the time of the assassination. Left unanswered by the professional analyses was the question of whose open microphone captured the sounds recorded on the Dictabelt, if not Officer H.B. McLain. Jim Bowles, a Dallas police dispatcher supervisor in November 1963, and later Dallas County Sheriff, believes it originated from a particular officer on a three-wheeled motorcycle stationed at the Dallas Trade Mart, the original destination of President Kennedy's motorcade, along the same freeway to Parkland Hospital, which would account for the sound of sirens rushing by. McLain himself believes that it was from a different officer on a three-wheeler near the Trade Mart, who was known for his whistling. When interviewed by author Vincent Bugliosi, the officer acknowledged that his microphone could have been stuck in the open position (he did not recall hearing any transmissions for several minutes), and could later have become unstuck after he followed the motorcade to Parkland Hospital. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dictabelt_evidence_relating_to_the_assassination_of_John_F._Kennedy

A brilliant video uploaded to YouTube by Dover Police Department shows Officer Jeff Davis singing along to Taylor Swift's "Shake it off". Looking respectable in his uniform, Officer Davis is filmed at the wheel of his patrol car laying down some sassy moves including an eye roll and some head wiggling. At certain points when he spots a fellow driver or a pedestrian, Officer Davis does his best deadpan expression, only to pick up his moves where he left off.... Food For Thought, December 2014 "Lauren Andrews presents, "Monitoring the Greenland Ice Sheets" In this time of climate change denial we can find many examples that support the reality of climate change, but often we do not see what is behind the data. In "Monitoring the Greenland Ice Sheet: How and why we study its plumbing," an active researcher explains how we can study the hydrodynamics occurring under more than a mile of ice. Lauren Andrews is a researcher in the Jackson School of Geosciences at the Univ. of Texas, Austin.

BBC News 2015-03-23A police officer (also known as a policeman or policewoman, and constable in some forces, particularly in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth nations) is a warranted employee of a police force. In the United States, "officer" is the formal name of the lowest police rank; in many other countries "officer" is a generic term not specifying a particular rank, and the lowest rank is often "constable". Police officers are generally charged with the apprehension of criminals and the prevention and detection of crime, and the maintenance of public order. Police officers may be sworn to an oath, and have the power to arrest people and detain them for a limited time, along with other duties and powers.
Some police officers may also be trained in special duties, such as counter-terrorism, surveillance, child protection, VIP protection, and investigation techniques into major crime, including fraud, rape, murder and drug trafficking.
Responsibilities of a police officer are varied, and may differ greatly from within one political context to another. Typical duties relate to keeping the peace, law enforcement, protection of people and property, and the investigation of crimes. Officers are expected to respond to a variety of situations that may arise while they are on duty. Rules and guidelines dictate how an officer should behave within the community, and in many contexts restrictions are placed on what the uniformed officer wears. In some countries, rules and procedures dictate that a police officer is obliged to intervene in a criminal incident, even if they are off-duty. Police officers in nearly all countries retain their lawful powers, while off duty.
