Ubisoft has acknowledged several missteps with the Assassin's Creed Unity launch and is working on fixing the issues as well as changing how they do business in the future. ► VGN Video Game News: http://www.VideoGamesAndNews.com ► Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/TwTheRedDragon ► Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/TwTheRedDragon ► Google +: http://goo.gl/GGVGr ► The Red Dragon: http://www.TwTheRedDragon.com In responding to a story about widespread criticism about the unstable nature of Assassin's Creed Unity, publisher and developer Ubisoft told the BBC that it is working to change the way it works with game reviewers and gamers. "We are working to adapt our services and communications with consumers accordingly, both by changing the way we work with reviewers and by offering customers open betas or other early access to some games, all so that they have the information they need and want," a spokesperson told the BBC. The official told the BBC that issues that arose out of Unity, including the late embargo for reviews, was driven by the changing nature of games. "Having the online elements available and having populated worlds is essential to creating a representative and complete experience for reviewers," the spokesperson said. "Achieving this prior to launch is incredibly complex, which is why some games are being reviewed much closer — or as was the case with Destiny, even after — the game launches." http://www.polygon.com/2014/11/13/7215169/ubisoft-to-change-reviews-policy-work-more-with-gamers-in-wake-of

BBC reporter Tim Wilcox reminds a frightened Jewish lady during a street interview: “Many critics though of Israel’s policy would suggest that the Palestinians suffer hugely at Jewish hands as well.” Four people were killed at the Paris grocery store Hyper Casher supermarket on Friday. As shots and explosions rang out in the City of Light, five people, including the gunman, were found dead in the aftermath of the assault on the Jewish store in eastern Paris and several captives were freed, security sources said. A further four people were in critical condition after the raid, as ambulances raced to the scene, joining a jam of police vans, other emergency vehicles and helicopters buzzing overhead. "It's war!" screamed a mother as she dragged her daughter from the scene. An AFP reporter saw at least one body lying at the scene, where the sliding glass door of the shop was completely shattered. The dramatic climax to the two standoffs brought to an end more than 48 hours of fear and uncertainty that began when the two brothers slaughtered 12 people at satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in the bloodiest attack on French soil in half a century. Chris Rogers presents this edition of BBC World News, recorded at 1100 hrs SGT on 12 Jan 2015. More than three million people have taken part in unity marches across France after 17 people died during three days of deadly attacks in Paris. Up to 1.6m are estimated to have taken to the streets of the French capital. More than 40 world leaders joined the start of the Paris march, linking arms in an act of solidarity. The marchers wanted to demonstrate unity after the attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, police officers, and a kosher supermarket. The French government said the rally turnout was the highest on record. The following news report is reproduced from the BBC News online website @ http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-30765824 The rally, led by relatives of the victims of last week's attacks, began at the Place de la Republique and concluded in the Place de la Nation. Several other French cities also held rallies. The interior ministry said turnout across France was at least 3.7 million, including up to 1.6 million in Paris - where sheer numbers made an exact tally difficult. Rallies also took place outside of France, with thousands of people gathering in London, Washington, Montreal and Berlin. In Madrid, several hundred Muslims held banners saying "Not in our name" next to the train station where in 2004 Islamist bombings killed nearly 200 people. World leaders, including British Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, EU President Donald Tusk, and Jordan's King Abdullah II joined the beginning of the Paris march. "Paris is the capital of the world today," French leader Francois Hollande said. The leaders observed a minute's silence before the march began. About 2,000 police officers and 1,350 soldiers - including elite marksmen on rooftops - were deployed in the capital to protect participants. The Paris march was split into two routes for security purposes. Marchers chanted "liberte" ("freedom") and "Charlie", in reference to Charlie Hebdo magazine. Some waved French flags, cheered, and sang the national anthem. Samia Ghali, mayor of one of Marseille's districts, told the BBC that people there were marching for tolerance and co-existence. Marseille is the city with the largest Muslim population in France. So many people were crammed into the Place de la Republique that it created a bottleneck. Some marchers had to filter down side streets to reach the Place de la Nation for the final rally. They streamed past the cafe where I was working, wrapped against the chill as the sun went down, so many faces beaming with pride, voices still not too hoarse for another yell of "Charlie!" Their hands must have been sore from clapping. "This is serious, this was an attack on freedom, we cannot allow this," said Laurent. The march was so crowded it took him, his wife Isabelle and his daughter Coline two hours to walk just 2km (1.2 miles). "Our values are liberty, equality and fraternity and we cannot allow terrorists to dictate to us," he added. "We had to get into the streets to show we are not afraid," said Isabelle. Solidarity marches were also held in world cities including London, Madrid, Cairo, Montreal, Beirut, Sydney and Tokyo. Gunman video Ahead of the rally, a video emerged appearing to show the supermarket attacker, Amedy Coulibaly, pledging allegiance to the so-called Islamic State. In the video, he said he was working with the Charlie Hebdo attackers: "We have split our team into two... to increase the impact of our actions." He killed four hostages seized at the Hyper Cacher supermarket on Friday before being shot dead by police. The four victims will be buried in Israel on Tuesday. Coulibaly is also believed to have shot dead a policewoman in Montrouge on Thursday, and has now been linked by prosecutors to the shooting and wounding of a 32-year-old jogger in a park in Fontenay-les-Roses, in south-west Paris, on Wednesday. His partner, Hayat Boumeddiene, is still wanted by police - although she is thought to have fled France last week. Officials believe she may have entered Turkey en route to Syria. Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve says France will stay on high alert in the coming weeks. He hosted a meeting on Sunday morning of fellow interior ministers from across Europe, including the UK's Theresa May, to discuss the threat posed by militants. Following the meeting, the ministers issued a statement saying that greater internet and borders surveillance was needed to combat terrorist attacks. In the wake of the attacks, police detained people believed to be connected to the killers - including family members. Cherif Kouachi's brother-in-law, named as Mourad Hamyd, reportedly handed himself in to police but was released without charge and denounced the violence on Sunday.

Sally Bundock presents this special edition of BBC World News, recorded at 1400hrs SGT on 19 Sep 2014. Scotland has voted to stay in the United Kingdom after voters decisively rejected independence. With the results in from all 32 council areas, the "No" side won with 2,001,926 votes over 1,617,989 for "Yes". Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond called for unity and urged the unionist parties to deliver on more powers. UK Prime Minister David Cameron said he was delighted the UK would remain together and said the commitments on extra powers would be honoured. Mr Cameron said the three main unionist parties at Westminster would now follow through with their pledge of more powers for the Scottish Parliament. The following news report is reproduced from the BBC News online website @ http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-29270441 "We will ensure that those commitments are honoured in full," he said. He announced that Lord Smith of Kelvin, who led Glasgow's staging of the Commonwealth Games, would oversee the process to take forward the commitments, with new powers over tax, spending and welfare to be agreed by November, and draft legislation published by January. The prime minister also acknowledged that the people of England, Wales and Northern Ireland must have a bigger say over their affairs. And he promised a resolution to the West Lothian question - the fact that Scottish MPs can vote on English issues at Westminster. In other developments: * The pound hit highs against the euro and US dollar, as Scotland voted against independence. * Royal Bank of Scotland said it would keep its headquarters in Scotland following the "No" vote. * Wales's First Minister Carwyn Jones said he was pleased Scotland voted to stay in the Union, adding: "Together we will shape a new constitutional future for the UK." * Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson said he was "delighted" Scotland would remain in the Union and he would hold talks with his Welsh counterpart to discuss the wider implications. * Scotland rejected independence by 55% to 45%. For latest results and full coverage, go to bbc.co.uk/scotland-decides. The result became a mathematical certainty at 06:08, as the returning officer in Fife announced a comfortable No vote. Shortly afterwards, Mr Salmond said he accepted the defeat and called for national unity. He said the referendum and the high turnout had been a "triumph for the democratic process" and promised to keep his pledge in the Edinburgh Agreement which paved the way for the referendum to respect the result and work for the benefit of Scotland and the United Kingdom. He told supporters: "The unionist parties made vows late in the campaign to devolve more powers to Scotland. "Scotland will expect these to be honoured in rapid course - as a reminder, we have been promised a second reading of a Scotland Bill by March 27 next year. And the First Minister said: "Whatever else we can say about this referendum campaign, we have touched sections of the community who have never before been touched by politics, these sections of the community have touched us and touched the political process." In a rallying call to his supporters, Mr Salmond urged the Yes voters to reflect on how far they had come. "I don't think any of us, whenever we entered politics, would have thought such a thing to be either credible or possible," he said. "Over the last few weeks we have seen a scare and a fear of enormous proportions - not a scaremongering directed at the Scottish people but the scare and the fear at the heart of the Westminster establishment as they realise the mass movement of people that was going forward in Scotland. "Today of all days as we bring Scotland together, let us not dwell on the distance we have fallen short, let us dwell on the distance we have travelled and have confidence the movement is abroad in Scotland that will take this nation forward and we shall go forward as one nation." This margin of victory for the Better Together campaign - 55% to 45% - was greater by about 3% than that anticipated by the final opinion polls. The winning total needed was 1,852,828. Speaking in Downing Street, Mr Cameron said the result was decisive. He said: "Now the debate has been settled for a generation, or as Alex Salmond has said: 'Perhaps for a lifetime'. "So there can be no disputes, no re-runs; we have heard the will of the Scottish people." The prime minister also spoke of the implications for the other nations of the UK. 'English voices' "In Wales there are proposals to give the Welsh Government and Assembly more powers and I want Wales to be at the heart of the debate on how to make the United Kingdom work for all our nations," he said. "In Northern Ireland, we must work to ensure that the devolved institutions function effectively." Mr Cameron said "millions of voices of England must also be heard".

history: After the 1956 Suez Crisis, Egypt agreed to the stationing of a United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF) in the Sinai to ensure all parties would comply with the 1949 Armistice Agreements.[9][10][11] In the following years there were numerous minor border clashes between Israel and its Arab neighbors, particularly Syria. In early November, 1966, Syria signed a mutual defense agreement with Egypt.[12] Soon thereafter, in response to Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) guerilla activity,[13][14] including a mine attack that left three dead,[15] the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) attacked the city of as-Samu in the Jordanian-occupied West Bank.[16] Jordanian units that engaged the Israelis were quickly beaten back.[17] King Hussein of Jordan criticized Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser for failing to come to Jordan's aid, and "hiding behind UNEF skirts".[18][19] In May 1967, Nasser received false reports from the Soviet Union that Israel was massing on the Syrian border.[20] Nasser began massing his troops in the Sinai Peninsula on Israel's border (May 16), expelled the UNEF force from Gaza and Sinai (May 19), and took up UNEF positions at Sharm el-Sheikh, overlooking the Straits of Tiran.[21][22] UN Secretary-General U Thant proposed that the UNEF force be redeployed on the Israeli side of the border, but this was rejected by Israel despite U.S. pressure.[23] Israel reiterated declarations made in 1957 that any closure of the Straits would be considered an act of war, or a justification for war.[24][25] Nasser declared the Straits closed to Israeli shipping on May. 22--23. On 27 May he stated "Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel. The Arab people want to fight." [26] On May 30, Jordan and Egypt signed a defense pact. The following day, at Jordan's invitation, the Iraqi army began deploying troops and armored units in Jordan.[27] They were later reinforced by an Egyptian contingent. On June 1, Israel formed a National Unity Government by widening its cabinet, and on June 4 the decision was made to go to war. The next morning, Israel launched Operation Focus, a large-scale surprise

Aid workers say conditions in Yarmouk, a Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus, are growing increasingly desperate for civilians trapped by fighting. After nearly two years under siege by government forces, the camp was attacked last week by so-called Islamic State militants. They are now believed to be in control of much of it. Jim Muir reports.

Up to 1.6 million people are estimated to have taken part in a unity march in Paris, after 17 people were killed in three days of terror attacks. More than 40 world leaders joined the start of the Paris march, linking arms in an act of solidarity. The families of the victims, as well as workers from the Charlie Hebdo magazine, led the crowd. BBC News takes a look at some of the day's most memorable moments.

Elle aurait quitté la France début janvier, selon différentes sources. Lassana Bathily 'Courageous' Muslim rescued Jewish shoppers, handed market key to French police Charlie Hebdo suspects killed as twin sieges rock France (AFP) Elite French police stormed a printworks and a Jewish supermarket Friday, killing two brothers wanted for the Charlie Hebdo attack and a gunman linked to them in a dramatic end to twin sieges that rocked France. The weekly had lampooned jihadists and repeatedly published cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed which angered many Muslims. A woman living in an apartment two storeys above the supermarket, Virginie Handani, 35, said she heard "two big bangs and gunfire that lasted around a minute" when the assault started. President Francois Hollande was to address the nation before 1900 GMT. - All guns blazing - About 30 kilometres (16 miles) to the northeast, in the small town of Dammartin-en-Goele, the two Islamist Charlie Hebdo gunmen staged a desperate escape bid, charging out of the building all guns blazing at the security forces before being cut down in their tracks, a security source said. Police confirmed their identity as Cherif and Said Kouachi, French-born orphans of Algerian origin. The other hostage-taker in the eastern Porte de Vincennes area of Paris was also suspected of gunning down a policewoman in southern Paris Thursday and knew at least one of the Charlie Hebdo gunmen. French police released mugshots of the man, Amedy Coulibaly, 32, as well as a woman named as 26-year-old Hayat Boumeddiene, also wanted over the shooting of the policewoman. The Vincennes area was swamped with police who shut down the city's ringroad as well as schools and shops in the area. Authorities ordered residents to stay indoors. In Dammartin-en-Goele, only 12 kilometres (seven miles) from Paris's main Charles de Gaulle airport, French elite forces had deployed snipers on roofs and helicopters buzzed low over the small printing business where the Charlie Hebdo suspects had been cornered early Friday. Ahead of the stand-off, police had already exchanged fire with the pair in a high-speed car chase. One witness described coming face-to-face at the printer's with one of the suspects, dressed in black, wearing a bullet-proof vest and carrying what looked like a Kalashnikov. The salesman told France Info radio that one of the brothers said: "'Leave, we don't kill civilians anyhow'." One 60-year-old choked back tears as she said how elite forces burst into the shop where her daughter works and ordered them to take cover. "My daughter told me: 'Don't be scared mummy, we're well protected. She was calm but me, I'm scared. I'm really scared," said the woman. Prior to the standoff, the suspects had hijacked a car from a woman who said she recognised the brothers. - 'Mass casualty attacks' - The spectacular attacks came as it emerged the brothers had been on a US terror watch list "for years". And as fears spread in the wake of the attack, the head of Britain's domestic spy agency MI5 warned that Islamist militants were planning other "mass casualty attacks against the West" and that intelligence services may be powerless to stop them. video footage caught on tape cellphone camera surveillance raw dash cam air live on tv
