In this BBC iPlayer exclusive, renowned poet and writer, Benjamin Zephaniah gets a sneak preview and takes us on a personal tour of the new blockbuster exhibition at Tate Britain showcasing one of the great names in British Art. J.M.W.Turner was celebrated in his day, but towards the end of his life, his style grew more radical and daring, causing some critics to think Turner had gone mad. This is a rare chance to see the late great works of one of Britain's most visionary artists, together in one exhibition.

This week's Afaq has a flavour from the Gulf region. The programme is presented indeed from the Out of Arabia exhibition, an exceptional initiative involving the British Council, aiming at presenting the perception of Saudi artists of the kingdom's landscape. Afaq explores also the topic of Pearls from the V&A; where an exhibition dedicated to this theme retraces the intimate relation between this wonder of Nature and humans, in which the Gulf region played an essential historical role. Eli Melki went to wales to meet the artist Ben Barbour at his arrival in Milford Haven in Wales on board of a gas tanker coming from Qatar. Ben wanted to retrace, partially at least, the trade routes from the Gulf to Britain, while drawing sketches of the ship and crew in a style reminiscent of the venerable tradition of Navy artists.

Rubens Royal Academy exhibition: 'No one paints flesh like him'. A major exhibition on the most influential of Flemish painters, Peter Paul Rubens, opens at the Royal Academy in London on Saturday. His work was both prolific and sought after. Rubens and his Legacy brings together masterpieces by Rubens and the artists who were inspired by him during and after his lifetime. It also features a special gallery curated by British artist Jenny Saville, who, like Rubens, is not afraid to portray human bodies in a very bold way.
Exhibition shines spotlight on British stage design A successful live production does not just rely on a fine script and superb acting or singing, audiences also expect creative costumes and sets. The work that goes on behind the scenes is often overlooked, but a new exhibition aims to shine a spotlight on "the unsung heroes of live entertainment". Tim Muffett reports.

Thanks to AMNUA in Nanjing, Crane Kalman Gallery and ARTouch Consulting in London. http://www.artouchconsulting.com/ls-lowry65306artist-of-the-people.html L.S.LOWRY (1887-1976) is one of the most important and famous British artists of the Twentieth Century, yet he is barely known in the rest of the world. Lowry has been the subject of more than 340 exhibitions from the early 1900’s to the present day yet "L. S. Lowry: Artist of the People", the show opening in November 2014 at the Art Museum of Nanjing University of the Arts is incredibly Lowry’s first ever museum exhibition overseas. With nearly thirty oil paintings and works on paper selected carefully from British public and private collections, this event in Nanjing is a very special occasion. Following the artists widely acclaimed retrospective exhibition at Tate Britain, London in 2013, the collection of works at AMNUA will enable a new public to explore and value Lowry’s art - in Nanjing, China and hopefully beyond. We are proud to present this exhibition, and its associated events, to the public at this moment.

A new exhibition by artist Ai Weiwei has taken over Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. Mr Weiwei has never set foot inside the stately home as he is under house arrest in China, so the works had to be put together based on 3D computer models sent to artists in the UK. The exhibition will open on October 1 and contains more than 50 works by Weiwei, including over two thousand ceramic crabs and a 50ft carpet piece in the Great Hall. David Sillito discussed the exhibition with Michael Frahm from the Blenheim Art Foundation.
