Hong Kong Airlines HX775 : Flight from Hong Kong to Bangkok

Flying to the heart of Thailand on Hong Kong Airlines. Hong Kong Airlines are quite the good airline despite a few kinks here and there. And one of the better carriers I've been fortunate enough to fly on. Flight time was just under 3 hrs, at 2hrs and 55 min for this flight. Scheduled time of departure was 12:10 pm in the afternoon, with actual time of departure being just past 1 pm, almost an hour late. Scheduled time of arrival was 2:05 pm, Bangkok time, with actual arrival time being 2:20 pm, in the afternoon. My seat was 36A, like the inbound, on the left side of the aircraft. The aircraft was the smaller Airbus A330-200, registered as B-LNE, which flew HX775 today. Hong Kong Airlines have disappointed me a bit on this flight, as compared to the last. The main fault I had was with the seat, which is massively less comfortable than the seat on the A330-300. The IFE was similar to the last flight, with good selection for a 2.5 hr flight, although the touchscreen is a bit less responsive than the A333. The meal was quite good, although not exactly great in terms of quantity or quality, the sides particularly. The crew were the same as the previous flight, and are what Hong Kong Airlines have the most to improve upon. Of course, the timing of the flight is no longer an excuse, and a few smiles would do no harm. Seat 8/10 IFE 9/10 Meal 8/10 Crew 7.5/10 Overall experience rating : 8.1/10 Overall a pleasant and enjoyable experience with Hong Kong Airlines, although, there certainly is room for much improvement. Hong Kong Airlines HX774 : Flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong

To Asia's world city on the flagship of Hong Kong Airlines, a very good airline to fly with. Based on this flight, I'd rate Hong Kong Airlines as one of the best I've flown! Flight time today was a quick 2 hrs and 45 min, on this Hong Kong Airlines flight, with actual flying being 5 min more than the scheduled one. Scheduled departure time was 02:15 am , early morning, with scheduled arrival being 06:00 am in Hong Kong, just as dawn breaks. An early departure and arrival was much appreciated for this flight. My seat on this flight was, as always, a window seat, 36A, on the left side and just behind the wing of this airplane. The plane, was the flagship of Hong Kong Airlines, the mighty Airbus A330-300. The aircraft was registered as B-LNM. I have to say, Hong Kong Airlines have really impressed me a lot. My expectations of this airline had been shallow to say the least. But, this flight has totally obliterated that and I'm pleased to say that I enjoyed it a lot. The seat was the epitome of comfort and the legroom was absolutely massive, perhaps the best seat I have ever had the pleasure of resting my bottom on. The IFE was very good and the touchscreen was great! It was easy to navigate the system, though the library isn't as big as some of other big names like SQ or EK. Perfectly fine for a two hour flight though. The meal was good, though not great.A slight improvement in quality would be nice. The crew, in contrast, were quite the disappointment, not even breaking a single smile in the whole flight. They weren't sloppy or even the slightest bit rude in their service, but a friendly touch would have been great. The timing of the flight, I'm sure, has at least a slight contribution to their attitude. Seat 9.5 IFE 9.0 Meal 8.5 Crew 7.5 Experience rating : 8.6/10 Thinking of flying the A333 of Hong Kong Airlines any time soon? Stop thinking and get flying! The following is a list of the top things to do in Hong Kong: 1) Avenue of Stars at Night in Kowloon (星光大道) Wandering around Avenue of Stars at night is the perfect way to experience Hong Kong in the evening. Overlooking Victoria Harbour, this area has been modeled after the Hollywood Walk of Fame championing all of the celebrities involved in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. None is more famous than the Bruce Lee statue. This is also the perfect place to watch A Symphony of Lights laser show which happens daily at 8 pm. 2) Afternoon High Tea at the Peninsula Sitting down for afternoon tea at the Peninsula is one of the more posh activities in Hong Kong. Expect to wait in line (we waited over 2 hours) for a table. You can get complete sets which include assorted finger food along with a drink. This is definitely not a budget activity. 3) Views of Hong Kong from Victoria Peak and Tram Ride (太平山) Taking a tram ride up to Victoria Peak to experience the best vantage point of Hong Kong, Kowloon and Victoria Harbor is one of the top attractions in the city. Many come at night; however, we recommend coming in the afternoon on a weekday when you can enjoy having more personal space. 4) Star Ferry boat ride (天星小輪) There are many different modes of transportation in Hong Kong; however, none are quite as authentic of an experience as taking Star Ferry from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon or vice versa. It's one of the cheapest ways to get around. 5) Junk Boat Ride Taking a Junk boat ride around Victoria harbor offers some of the best views of the city. It's especially popular at night to take in A Symphony of Lights performance. 6) Hong Kong Park and Tea Appreciation Ceremony (香港公園) To get away from all of the hustle and bustle check out Hong Kong Park for a tranquil escape. If you have time participate in a Chinese tea appreciation ceremony. 7) Sampan Boat Tour in Aberdeen (舢舨) Taking a ride on a traditional Sampan boat allows you to experience what life is like for Chinese fishermen. 8) Eating Dim Sum (點心 - 点心) One should not leave Hong Kong without first trying dim sum. These small sized bites are treats that are accompanied by a pot of Chinese tea. 9) Taking a night bus tour of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Taking a night bus tour allows you to visit distinct areas in both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon such as Mong Kok and Causeway Bay.
