Han Win Aung, an activist, says about 1,000 police and security guards and more than 200 Chinese mine workers have surrounded several villages that protesters have refused to leave. He says two villagers suffered gunshot wounds today morning. His account could not be independently confirmed, and neither police nor mining company officials were immediately available for comment. The state-run Myanma Ahlin daily reported today that one villager was killed and 20 other people, including 11 policemen, injured on Monday when villagers protested against an attempt to fence off land for the mining project. As Myanmar's economy has opened up, it has become far more attractive to foreign investors. The country attracted less than a billion dollars worth of foreign direct investment in 2010, but recent government figures suggest it could be five times that much in the current financial year. The Asian country of Myanmar is known around the world for their traditional ways of life. Traditions are carried out in their culture from dress, to food, to living quarters, and mainly, their craft. Similarly to other Asian cultures, the craftspeople of Myanmar are heavily influenced by their religion. Theravada Buddhism is the most commonly practiced religion in the country, and acts as focal aspects of art in sculptures, paintings, metalwork, woodwork, and many other art forms. Paintings are strongly influenced by their neighbours; Indian techniques appear in characteristic and colour, using blue to symbolize their bright lifestyle. Traditional metals like gold and silver were originally used as a sign of status. The richest and most important families used gold and silverware at their table, but now, these metals, including copper, are used to create relics. Metalwork is Myanmar's oldest crafting tradition, and can be seen in pieces around the country. Distinctive patterns are seen on these pieces, intricate patterns known only in Myanmar that range from their metalwork to their textiles. The areas of Mandalay and Amarapura are major centres for silk and cotton sarong production. Like metalwork, intricate patterns typical to Myanmar culture can be found on these textiles created by craftspeople using traditional tools.

Training sessions are being conducted in May and June in 34 townships across seven states and regions. Some 1,500 midwives and health assistants from rural health centres are being trained. Music: "Awake My Soul" by Mumford & Sons - "Fade Away" by Yungchen Lhamo. Myanmar is very conducive to good physical, mental and spiritual health from the warm climate, fresh fruits and vegetables to the abundance of pagodas and state of meditation that they encourage. We found a wonderful place for Shiatsu massages where an intelligent group of young deaf students have learned the art and are even more sensitive to one's individual problems because they listen more deeply - all for about $4.00 an hour! The second part of the film was shot in Bagan - the valley of 1000 pagodas. Biking from one pagoda to another, meditating as you feel, stopping for a fresh sugar cane juice and continuing can truly give you a gift of life, way beyond "tourism".

Doctors have long struggled to reach patients in rural Myanmar, where ethnic insurgencies and political repression have made building a reliable healthcare system virtually impossible. But community health teams in eastern states, near the Thai border, say they are seeing evidence of improvement, in part because of political reforms and cease-fire agreements. Seven ethnic and community organizations recently conducted a survey to assess the overall health and availability of health care for about a half million people living in eastern Myanmar, also known as Burma. The Health Information System Working Group found a decline in conflict and more freedom of movement after the government signed cease-fire agreements with 14 of the 16 main armed groups has led to improvements in a range of health indicators, from the assisted delivery of babies to reduced malaria infections. This network of some 2,600 people includes medics, community health workers, specialists in maternal and child health, and trained traditional birth attendants. Saw Nay Htoo, director of programs, said reduced violence has allowed mobile health worker teams to reach local communities, although some legal restrictions remain. “Three or four years ago they could be arrested anytime, if you are caught by the Burmese government. But after the cease-fire agreement, temporary cease-fire agreement in 2012 more people can more or less have freedom of movement a little bit [more],” said Htoo. The health survey reported gains in reproductive, maternal and child health services. More than 70 per cent of women delivering their latest child had assistance from a trained traditional birth attendant. Lower rates of malnutrition among women were reported, but the survey found rates of malnutrition in children remained high with over 15 per cent of children under the age of five years suffering from acute malnutrition. The survey also found a greater use of bed nets to protect families from mosquito borne diseases such as malaria. Malaria remains a primary cause of death across all age groups at almost 20 percent, and the second main cause of death among children under five years. New drug resistant strains of malaria have been recorded spreading throughout Myanmar. Cynthia Muang, an ethnic Karen doctor and director of the Mae Tao clinic in the Thai border town of Mae Sot, said the reduction in fighting led to opportunities to rebuild local health care services affected by years of violence. She said there is also greater cross-border cooperation between the Thai and Myanmar ministries of health. “So what we have been doing in the community is we try to identify more communities, which we strengthen through collaboration. So we have put a lot of effort on the health system strengthening and we work with international partners and community organizations to upgrade the existing health services and health system,” said Muang. Despite the improvements, there are still enormous challenges in building a more comprehensive health system. The Thai based non-government group overseeing border refugee movements, The Border Consortium (TBC), said that since 1996, the destruction of some 3,700 villages has left about 400,000 internally displaced people in rural areas of eastern Myanmar. Voravit Suwanvanichkij, a research associate at the Center for Public Health and Human Rights at John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, said that while there is growing collaboration between the government and ethnic groups, leading to improvements in the overall system, more reforms are needed. “Burma desperately needs a health infrastructure. The peoples of Burma, particularly ethnic communities, lack access to essential health programs. Burma should really capitalize on the fact that many ethnic organizations and community organizations have been operating their own health programs for decades. To rapidly expand access there needs to be more collaboration, more decentralization,” said Voravit. Voravit said those first steps to make improvements include ending continuing rights abuses that worsen poverty and impact health care.

Travel video about destination Myanmar. Myanmar is a land of golden pagodas in which rivers, paddy fields and Buddhism dominate the lives of this country’s people who are made up of a variety of ethnic groups. But behind the bamboo curtain is a sleepy fairy tale land.Yangon is a river city and the capital of Myanmar. It is surrounded by India, China, Laos and Thailand. Few cities in Asia boast such a fascinating mêlée of tribes and cultures. A tranquil harmony of churches, pagodas, Hindu temples and mosques. The Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda contains one of the largest prone Buddha statues in the world. Its length makes up for its lack of artistry as it is seventy metres long! The Shan State Express is a sonorous name for a unique train that travels to the north of Myanmar and to the legendary kingdom of the Shan. The railroad travels in a zigzag up the mountains which enables it to negotiate severe slopes that would otherwise be impossible for it to climb vertically. It provides a fascinating insight into the culture and everyday life of the Shan people. The city of Pyin U Lwin, that is also known as Meymo, was once a British military base. Even today the city still has a certain air of nostalgia and passengers are offered various refreshments as the train journey normally takes more than twelve hours. Ox carts transport visitors to one of the most interesting buildings in Mingun, the Mingun Pagoda. It was designed to be the world’s largest pagoda. Huge numbers of workers built this seventy two metre wide and fifty metre high building. Bagan is the country’s ancient capital city. Prior to visiting the largest area of Buddhist ruins in the world visitors can enjoy both traditional puppet shows and dance. Classical myth and legend make up this theatrical treat of which each puppeteer is responsible for up to sixty strings. Any journey through Myanmar is a journey into the past and to a hidden world of dreams and mystique. This gateway to paradise is slowly opening up and revealing a splendid land of bygone times!
Burma, also known as Myanmar, was long considered a pariah state, isolated from the rest of the world and with an appalling human rights record. But after the country's first elections in 20 years and a move towards civilian from military government, it is back on the tourist map. But just how easy is it really to holiday there? Carmen Roberts went to find out what visitors can expect as the country starts to open up.

Myanmar (Burma) trip 2015 - Myanmar tourism & Vacations 2015 - Myanmar travel guide 2015 Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube Myanmar, or Burma, officially the Republic of the Union of Myanmar which is derived from the Burmese Empire (1500-1000BC) is a country in Southeast Asia. It lies on the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea coast with Bangladesh and India to the west, China to the north, and Laos and Thailand to the east. See in Burma =========== Myanmar's attractions lie largely in the area of the spiritual. Temples, pagodas and historical sites abound with some areas such as Bagan boasting so many attractions that it would be impossible to take them in during a single visit. With landscapes, a tropical climate, beaches, cheap transportation and truly awesome sights, Myanmar is a fascinating and bewitching destination. Bagan The main tourist destination in Myanmar and capital of the first Myanmar Empire; one of the richest archaeological sites in South-east Asia. Situated on the eastern bank of the Ayeyawaddy River, the magic of Bagan has inspired visitors to Myanmar for nearly a thousand years. Inle is a vast lake located in the heart of Shan State which shares borders with Thai and Laos at over 900m above sea level. It is outrageously beautiful and in the mountains so it is cooler than other areas. More than 30 hill tribes live in the surrounding mountains. It is on the tourist routes via Heho Airport. Lake transport is by long-tail boat, with the jetty some 30 minutes drive from the airport. There are several lake resorts on stilt structures. Ubiquitous clumps of water hyacinth give an interesting texture to the boat ride. Ngapali Beach - The beach stretches nearly 3 km with soft white sand fringed by coconut palms. Mrauk U - Largely unknown to the Western world for much of its turbulent history, Rakhine played a pivotal role in the exchange of cultures and religions between India and Southeast Asia. For over a thousand years the region which now forms the Rakhine State was an independent state whose rich history is only slowly being paid the attention it deserves. Kyaiktiyo (Golden Rock) - This mystical pagoda built in the enshrinement of Buddha relic stands on a gold gilded boulder, precariously perched on the edge of the hill over 1100 m above sea-level. It is important to dress moderately, especially in temples and pagodas. Cover your shoulders and knees, as the locals do. Be patient, polite and show respect. You will be rewarded with lots of nice experiences, because the locals will react more open and more relaxed towards you and let you take part in their daily lives. Nabule Beach. Beautiful golden sand beach 25 miles north of Dawei City in Southern Myanmar. The beach is completely unspoiled without all the drawbacks of modern beach side development. Do in Burma ========== Burma has some of the best and well kept secret dive sites in South East Asia. The main advantage of diving in Burma is being alone on the dive sites. Of course this also means that there are very few boats in the area. So far there is no dive centers offering day trips to Mergui Archipelago], the 800 islands on the west coast of Burma. The best way to visit the area is to board a Liveaboard living from Ranong in Thailand. The Smiling Seahorse, 170 Ruangrat Road, 85000 Ranong (on the main street), +668-601-106-14 (info@thesmilingseahorse.com), offers dive cruises for up to 12 divers. It is managed by a french couple and is specialized in cruising Myanmar. Sapel Traditional Burmese Foot Spa, No.78, 16th Street (Middle Block), Ground Floor, Lanmadaw, Yangon, Myanmar (Walk along Mahabandoola Rd towards Sule Pagoda and turn left from main road), ☎ +(95)9253988995. The only place in Yangon that specializes in Traditional Burmese Foot Massage in an open hall concept. It provides a safe and comfortable environment for all travelers to indulge in a healthy and relaxing massage after a day's walk along the nearby streets of busy Chinatown. The staff are able to converse in English.

Get more details about these things to do in Yangon here: http://wp.me/psd9b-54a 1. Shwedagon Pagoda (ရွှေတိဂုံစေတီတော်) - Probably the most important religious monument and most sacred site in Yangon and throughout Myanmar is the Shwedagon Pagoda (ရွှေတိဂုံစေတီတော်). The golden stupa of the pagoda is covered in gold, and it’s so bright that I you have squint when you look at it. At the top of the pagoda, in the small umbrella looking top, are thousands of gems and diamonds - though it’s pretty challenging to see all the way up there. The Shwedagon Pagoda is a place you must visit when you’re in Yangon. 2. Local Market - One of my favorite things to do in any city I visit about the world is to visit a local fresh market - that’s where life takes place and where the action goes down. There are no shortage of fresh local markets in Yangon, and one of the best in downtown is on 26th street, across the main road from the Shri Kali Temple. The market occupies a block of downtown, and there’s an indoor section, but I really like the street side part of the market. 3. Bogyoke Aung San Market - One of the centrally located markets in downtown Yangon, located at the northern side of town, is Bogyoke Aung San Market, also known by its former name of Scott Market. If you’re looking for souvenirs, gems and jewelry, and fabric, this is a great place for you to visit when you’re in Yangon. 4. Sule Pagoda (ဆူးေလဘုရား) - Another one of the most important religious, political, and overall just city landmarks in Yangon is the Sule Pagoda - basically all roads eventually lead to the Sule Pagoda and it’s a huge transportation hub. You can pay to enter the pagoda for $3, but in my opinion there’s not that much to see inside, but it’s rather the things around the are that are more impressive. 5. Chinatown, Yangon - One of my favorite things to do in Yangon is eat, and if you love food and markets, Chinatown is a place you can’t miss. In the evening, the city of Yangon in the Chinatown area comes alive sprawling with food and people. 19th street in Yangon is a very famous as the barbecue street in the city, and there are a few restaurants where you can get a table, choose some kebabs and have them barbecue them up for you. If you love eating and drinking, dinner at 19th street is one of the fun things to do in Yangon. 6. Kandawgyi Park - There are two parts to Kandawgyi Park, the boardwalk, and the restaurants area - each has an entrance fee. It makes a great relief from the city and place to relax in the natural beauty. 7. Chaukhtatgyi Paya (Chak Htat Gyi Buddha) - This giant reclining Buddha is housed in a huge shed, and it’s among the main Buddhist religious sites in Yangon. Originally in the same location, there was a seating Buddha, but when it fell over, it was replaced by a reclining. 8. National Museum of Myanmar - If you’d like to know more about the history and culture of Myanmar (Burma), one of the attractions in Yangon that you should check out is the National Museum. It was a little outdated, but the exhibitions were educational and interesting. 9. Yangon Circular Railroad - Not really one of the traditional things to do in Yangon, Myanmar, but taking the local circular train route is a great opportunity to see some of the outskirts of the city. 10. Walk Around Yangon - Probably the best way to experience the city is to just get out on your feet and explore Yangon by food - you never know what’s going to happen or what you’re going to see or come across, but it will be full of action. 11. Myanmar Food and Street Food - There’s nothing better than traveling to eat and experiences a country through its food. Yangon is filled with both street food stalls and restaurant where you can get a sample of the local cuisine. Another part of the Myanmar culture I love is the constant tea drinking - nearly everywhere you look, you’ll find a place to sit on the side of the road and drink a cup of hot tea and socialize. Yangon is a great city, and what I love so much about it is that it’s always full of action, people are extremely friendly, there are many different types of food and street food to try, and it’s just such a vibrant, always entertaining city. Hope you can visit Yangon! Tin Pa Pa Min from Rangoon, tour guide to Burma - Tin Pa Pa Min trip leader to Burma Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube Yangon (Burmese) is a former capital of Burma (Myanmar) and the capital of Yangon Region. Yangon is the country's largest city with a population of over five million, and is the most important commercial centre, although the military government officially relocated the capital to Naypyidaw in March 2006. Although Yangon's infrastructure is undeveloped compared to those of other major cities in Southeast Asia, it has the largest number of colonial buildings in the region today. While many high-rise residential and commercial buildings have been constructed or renovated throughout downtown and Greater Yangon in the past two decades, most satellite towns that ring the city continue to be deeply impoverished. Parks and gardens =============== The largest and best maintained parks in Yangon are located around Shwedagon Pagoda. To the southeast of the gilded stupa is the most popular recreational area in the city – Kandawgyi Lake. The 150-acre (61-ha) lake is surrounded by the 110-acre (45-ha) Kandawgyi Nature Park, and the 69.25-acre (28-ha) Yangon Zoological Gardens, which consists of a zoo, an aquarium and an amusement park. West of the pagoda towards the former Hluttaw (Parliament) complex is the 130-acre (53-ha) People’s Square and People's Park, (the former parading ground on important national days when Yangon was the capital.) A few miles north of the pagoda lies the 37-acre (15-ha) Inya Lake Park – a favorite hangout place of Yangon University students, and a well-known place of romance in Burmese popular culture. Hlawga National Park and Allied War Memorial at the outskirts of the city are popular day-trip destinations with the well-to-do and tourists.

DNA India 2015-04-12Burma i/ˈbɜrmə/ BUR-mə, also known as Myanmar i/ˌmjɑːnˈmɑr/ MYAHN--MAR, is a country in South Asia and Southeast Asia. It is bordered by India, Bangladesh, China, Laos and Thailand. One-third of Burma's total perimeter of 1,930 kilometres (1,200 mi) forms an uninterrupted coastline along the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. At 676,578 km2 (261,227 sq mi), it is the 40th largest country in the world and the second largest country in Southeast Asia. Burma is also the 24th most populous country in the world with over 60.28 million people.
Burma is home to some of the early civilizations of Southeast Asia including the Pyu and the Mon. In the 9th century, the Burmans of the Kingdom of Nanzhao, entered the upper Irrawaddy valley and, following the establishment of the Pagan Empire in the 1050s, the Burmese language and culture slowly became dominant in the country. During this period, Theravada Buddhism gradually became the predominant religion of the country. The Pagan Empire fell due to the Mongol invasions (1277–1301), and several warring states emerged. In the second half of the 16th century, the country was reunified by the Taungoo Dynasty which for a brief period was the largest empire in the history of Southeast Asia. The early 19th century Konbaung Dynasty ruled over an area that included modern Burma as well as Manipur and Assam. The country was colonized by Britain following three Anglo-Burmese Wars (1824–1885).
Hablas de repente
Y tu disco suena suavemente
Eres tan distinta
Cuando vas saltando entre la gente
Por favor,
no hay nada más que amor
La lluvia llueve, el mar se mueve
Y cada instante es tan distinto
Pero no,
no me puedes dejar así
Como un tonto pensando en ti
Sin saber por qué te vas
No no no no
No me puedes dejar así
Quédate un poco más aquí
Quédate un poquito más (bis)
Escapar contigo
Supermillionarios, vagabundos
Por favor,
no hay nada más que amor
El viento suena, el rayo truena
Y cada instante es tan distinto
Pero no,
No me puedes dejar así...
It wouldn't work,it's getting stronger
can't be controlled any longer
theres only guilt, there is no feeling of beauty left
what was so free is getting locked up
emotion-motion is dead stopped
there's just remorse, there is no hunger,no craving left
but I see what you mean-I wish I was 16
I'm not there ,only choking
it shuts down when I'm toking
on the air,the musky odors of yesterday
only numb,growing colder
don't need heat to make this solder
feels like I'm rustin g from this apathic decay
but I know how it feels to be underneath those heels..
now I've got nothing more to say
and I got burned on the way
you drugged me ,fed me ,
took me with you to whereever you'd go;
y toser, y toser, y toser, y esputar
y toser y toser, y toser y flipar
y toser, y toser, y toser y esputar
y toser, y toser, y toser y flipar
Ahora me siento tan distinto aqui contigo
Me enamora
Que me hables con tu boca
Me enamora
Que me eleves hasta el cielo
Me enamora
Yo no sé si te merezco
Solo sé que aun deseo
Que le des luz a mi vida
En los dÃÂas venideros
Léeme muy bien los labios
Te lo digo bien despacio
Por el resto de mis dÃÂas
Quiero ser tu compañÃÂa
Hay tantas cosas
Que me gustan hoy de ti
Me enamora
Que me hables con tu boca
Me enamora
Que me eleves hasta el cielo
Me enamora
nunca a mi me alumbraria.
Sin pensar,
que serca estabas tu.
Decidida a entregarme
el corazon.
Desde que te conoci,
algo estrano paso en mi.
Talves sea tu mirada,
Me enamore,
(me enamore)
me enamore de ti,
(me enamore de ti)
y aunque en secreto tengo que ocultarlo,
soy feliz.
Me enamore,
me enamore de ti,
y aunque en secreto tengo que ocultarlo,
soy feliz.(2x)
(salsa intro)
Me enamore,
Vou fazer você me notar
Por isso eu vim aqui te dizer
Ohh ME NAMORA!
Abre os braços vem e me namora
Abre os braços vem e me namora,
Se for assim o meu coração
Sofre, só, sem você em vão
Bate mais triste então,
Mas ele ainda pode se alegrar
Se de repente você reparar
Que com você também aconteceu
Que sente amor tão grande quanto o meu,
Abra os olhos veja quem te adora
Que sonha com você no mundo afora
E volta só pra me dizer
Ohh ME NAMORA!
Abre os braços vem e me namora
Abre os braços vem e me namora,
Hoy tu cara soy bestia _

[Coro:]
