Pharaoh ( /ˈfeɪ.roʊ/ or /fɛ.roʊ/) is a title used in many modern discussions of the ancient Egyptian rulers of all periods. The title originates in the term "pr-aa" which means "great house" and describes the royal palace. The title of Pharaoh started being used for the king during the New Kingdom, specifically during the middle of the eighteenth dynasty.
Pharaoh, meaning "Great House", originally referred to the king's palace, but by the reign of Thutmose III (ca. 1479-1425 BC) in the New Kingdom, had become a form of address for the person of the king.
The term pharaoh ultimately was derived from a compound word represented as pr-`3, written with the two biliteral hieroglyphs pr "house" and `3 "column". It was used only in larger phrases such as smr pr-`3 'Courtier of the High House', with specific reference to the buildings of the court or palace itself. From the twelfth dynasty onward the word appears in a wish formula 'Great House, may it live, prosper, and be in health', but again only with reference to the royal palace and not the person.
Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Perry grew up with gospel music, and during her first year of high school she pursued a music career as Katy Hudson, releasing her first studio album called Katy Hudson which failed to chart. She recorded a solo album later, which was never released. After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry.
She first gained recognition with the release of her first mainstream album, One of the Boys in 2008, which spawned three Billboard Hot 100 top-ten songs—"I Kissed A Girl", "Hot n Cold" and "Waking Up In Vegas". Perry supported the album with her Hello Katy Tour. In 2010, her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010), which topped the Billboard 200 chart, and spawned five number one singles—"California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"—Teenage Dream was the only album (after Michael Jackson's Bad)—to do so, and the first female in history to achieve this milestone. She embarked on the California Dreams Tour, which grossed nearly $60 million worldwide. Perry re-released the album under the name of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection on March 26, 2012, and the re-release has already spawned the number-one single "Part of Me".
Dark horse is a term used to describe a little-known person or thing that emerges to prominence, especially in a competition of some sort or a contestant that seems unlikely to succeed.
The term began as horse racing parlance. A dark horse is a race horse that is not known to gamblers and thus is difficult to place betting odds on.
The earliest-known use of the phrase is in Benjamin Disraeli's novel The Young Duke (1831). Disraeli's protagonist, the Duke of St. James, attends a horse race with a surprise finish: "A dark horse which had never been thought of, and which the careless St. James had never even observed in the list, rushed past the grandstand in sweeping triumph."
The term has been used politically in such countries as Peru, Philippines and United States.
Politically, the term reached America in the nineteenth century when it was first applied to James K. Polk, a relatively unknown Tennessee Democrat who won the Democratic Party's 1844 presidential nomination over a host of better-known candidates. Polk won the nomination on the ninth ballot, and went on to win the presidential election.

A grand retelling of the epic story of Moses.
Moses: Because a man is born in slavery, it doesn't mean that he is a slave!
Moses: This is my flock, I can not abbandon it.::Zipporah: We'll stay with you.
Ramses: I am Pharaoh.::Moses: I am Moses.::Ramses: I'm willing to bargain.::Moses: I am not.
Menerith: My son was taken, too.::Moses: I grieve with you.::Menerith: You... grieve? Wasn't this your doing?::Moses: It was God's.::Menerith: You willed it. Ramses will give you your freedom now. Your God won. I think your God is a cruel one.::Aaron: Years ago, Pharaoh sent his soldiers to kill our children.::Menerith: I wasn't among them! My son wasn't there! Why should we be punished?::Moses: I do what God tells me.
Zipporah: Why is God punishing you? He's taken your brother Menerith, made you turn your back on Jethro who's like a father to you, turn your back on me, on your sons. How much more will He take from you? Is what you're seeking worth what it's costing you?
Rani: What if he is the one who is destined to bring down the Pharoah? If power is meant to change hands, if this child, if he is the future, if he is the chosen one, then he will bring wealth and power to those he thinks of as his family. You saved his life, he must know that, he must know what he owes you and me.
Egyptian Priest: If the idea of God had any meaning, there could only be one all-powerful God. But if men started to question what they had been told to believe since the world began, what else might they begin to question? One God. A ridiculous idea. Far better that there be as many Gods as there are men, if only to keep us priests employed.

Plot
This Chicago-made video centers on a support group for gay men of color; the six members discuss barebacking, fidelity, bisexuality, etc. This is the second installment in a series, funded in part by the Chicago Department of Health, intended to promote HIV awareness. The educational agenda results in some stiff moments ("But why should I get an HIV test?" "Well, let me tell you four good reasons..."), but the talented actors do a good job of selling the material and codirectors Sharon Zurek and Lora Branch strike a nice balance between didacticism and drama. By the cliff-hanger ending I cared enough to want to know what happened next. 60 min.

BURIED FURY!...stalking to life from the depths of doom! (print ad from Realart re-release)
Eyes That Crawl With Madness! Hands That Creep Like Cobras!
The FEAR of the Year!
No fucking rounds can hit him
no, no chain made can hold him
don't make that one mistake
turn your back your life he'll take
no, no standing army can turn him
the politicians don't understand him
he burns with fire, shines with hate
down on their knees to accept their fate
he is the pharao
the man who's shaping our destiny
madness – noone may stop – try
he lives to kill
he is the pharao
who knows what he has in store
just one more nasty surprise
we must prepare to strike back
he's just like a loaded gun
in the hand of a child
there is no time to run
he senses your presence close
he, he smells your fear nearby
you feel your anger slowly build
let's say good bye old man
have a nice try
he is the pharao
the man who's shaping our destiny
madness – noone may stop – try
he lives to kill
he is the pharao
who knows what he has in store
just one more nasty surprise
An earthen melody
Enchants my ears
An evening symphony of tears hanging in the sky
I dream of better years
A distant sun
I watch the rain and wonder whether you and I can ever
Hope to find that way again
Hope to walk that road together
It could take forever
Wait for all the tears to end
For what we could have been
Could have that chance again
We won't know how it ends without one more try
Before we fade
We turn to grey
Remember why we turned away
Is it too late?
Before we die
You and I
Open wide our eyes
Ready for another day to cry
An echoed memory
Returns to me
A voice is speaking from the river ever flowing by
It washes out my heart
And leaves me cold
I mourn for all the days of old and I wonder can we
Hope to find that way again
Hope to walk that road together
I could wait forever
Counting on the tears to end
For what we could have been
Could have that chance again
We won't know how it ends without one more try
For what we could have been
This might be the end
At least I found a friend not afraid to cry
Hearts gone deaf to the cries
Ringing the death toll of freedom
Blind to pain in our eyes
Marching our way to the Colosseum
They grace a roaring applause
Masking out the voice of reason
Generations have suffered the cause
Justifying castles in the sky
Fortifying Castles In The Sky
Certifying heroes as they die
Why?
Behind a fortress of stone
Towering over the masses
The king looks after his own
Feeding and filling their privileged glasses
They drink the blood of our dead
From a sea of deep denial
Hold your tongue or he'll hand you your head
Pay your tax or get the axe
Respect the castles in the sky
Walls defending castles in the sky
Reprehending castles in the sky
Condescending castles in the sky
Rainbows ending castles in the sky
Far above
Calling us
Peace will come
Everything you're dreaming of
Like a dove
Soon enough
Leave the world to suffer
But why?
Walls defending castles in the sky
Reprehending castles in the sky
Condescending castles in the sky
Rainbows ending castles in the sky
The sky
Sleep now my child
We will rest tonight
I am your shelter
From the storm outside
There is no sadness
In our song tonight
So until tomorrow
Say goodnight
At dawn, all I see is darkness
Deep snow surrounds the house
And there's no getting out
For days, we're trapped inside this fortress
The doors are frozen locked
The windows icy blocks
I know we won't get out tomorrow
It seems our freedom's taken
Replaced by desperation
And as the weeks go by in sorrow
We watch each other starve
And I prepare to carve
At a month's demand
Our supply surpassed
My secret plan
A grim repast
A chance to stay alive
In this world of frozen light
Hate to see the hunger
In your eyes
Take a piece from me
Even though I'm weakening
You will be alive
Another night
It might be insane
But there's no other way
Only one can survive
So I'll keep you alive
Ignoring the pain
I try to sustain
I hope you don't see
That I'm feeding you... me
Sleep now my child
I will keep you warm
Don't let your spirits
Be buried by the storm
Just close your eyes
Don't want you to see
Why you keep living
How much I bleed
So with this knife
I give you life
This is the last time
Come take my heart
Just as the sunshine
Comes to melt the dark
Last meal is given
The child is fed
Now the sun is risen
And I am dead
A chance to stay alive
In this world of frozen light
I took away the hunger
From your eyes
It was all in secrecy
But in piece by piece of me
I have given you
Afraid To Walk The Streets
In The Coldness All Alone
The Blackness Of The Night
Engulfs Your Flesh And Bones
Hoping For Relief
From The Fear You Feel Inside
Losing All Perspective
Of Reality In The Night
Running From Shadows
Blinded By Fear
The Horror Of Nightfall
Is Ever So Near
I Slowly Surround You
As Terror Sets In
Are You Afraid Of The Night
I See The Fright In Your Eyes
As You Turn And Run
But Is Your Mind Playing Tricks
On A Body So Very Young
Feeling As If No One Cares
The Fear Runs Down Your Spine
But I Know I'll Never Rest
Until I Know You're Mine
Running From Shadows
Blinded By Fear
The Horror Of Nightfall
Is Ever So Near
I Slowly Surround You
As Terror Sets In
Are You Afraid Of The Night
Afraid To Walk The Streets
In The Coldness All Alone
The Blackness Of The Night
Engulfs Your Flesh And Bones
Feeling As No One Cares
The Fear Runs Down Your Spine
But I Know I'll Never Rest
Until I Know You're Mine
I Know You're Mine
To Late To Hide
To Late To Save Your Life
Break your back, all the action
Takes your breath away
Grind the gears, after years, it’s
Just another day
A wicked lie told coldly by
Dead voices in the sky
Says you should just obey because they
Own you ‘til you die
They don’t want you to know
They think that you don’t know
It’s an illusion of control
Oh-oh-oh
Only you decide the time is right to
Go-oh-oh
Make a difference to the world around you
No-oh-oh
Don’t let the devils in the sky deceive you
Oh-oh-oh
You have the power now
In your hands
So here’s the plan
Trip the switch, trick the system
Snipe it from inside
This mad machine’s worst enemy
Could be itself tonight
Right behind your tired eyes
Your spirit is the spark
Blast the light, let loose the lightning
Show them you’re in charge!
They don’t want you to know
They think that you don’t want to know
That you decide what they control
Oh-oh-oh
Only you decide the time is right to
Go-oh-oh
Make a difference to the world around you
No-oh-oh
Don’t let the devils in the sky deceive you
Oh-oh-oh
You have the power now
In your hands
Under the circuitry humming
Rings a warning of shame
Soon an unholy cavalry’s coming
Waiting, waiting
You reexamine the riddle
No, it’s never too late
Realize the solution is simple
By your hands escape
Oh-oh-oh
Only you decide the time is right to
Go-oh-oh
Make a difference to the world around you
No-oh-oh
Don’t let the devils in the sky deceive you
Oh-oh-oh
You have the power now
Hi to all the people that are selling me
Here's one straight from the factory
They've sewn my eyes up in their sockets
I dip my hand into their pockets
Is there anybody there
I could swear I'm not alone
Show your faces if you dare
Slaving platinum to bone
One big man with a good connection
Takes the whole damn ship in the wrong direction
I don't mind him misinterpreting me
I hate it when he gets us lost out to sea
Late at night when I'm lying in bed
I've got to say a prayer for my daily bread
And early in the morning when I'm still asleep
You sit upon your throne making grown men weep, with boredom
Waning strength feels always more eminent
To those it fails
The mighty, still falling, so muster their armies
And set the sails
In the burning twilight glow
Can’t you see your sun goes down for you?
Look with pity on people less powerful
See them cowered in fear
Say you’ve come to redeem them, but still they don’t
know
Just why you’re here
In the empty starless black
Don’t you know your sun is never coming back
The graveyard of empires is calling you
Calling you, it’s calling you
It’s calling you to conquer
The graveyard of empires is calling you
But will you live to see it through?
Over mountains,
Over deserts and over the fields
Crossed the oceans
Crossed the heavens and still no one yields to you
Days and months and years turn to decades
What power you had left is rapidly fading
Alive in the tomb are you laid
“Save us! Save us!
The savage betrayed us!
Save us! Save us!
We’re too great to die,” you pray
For the red of the day
Topple mountains
Clear the deserts
Burn the fields
They still won’t bow to you
Grab your chest, and clutch at the gaping wound
Your bloody shame
Your body will rot with the others before you
It ends the same
At the blinding break of dawn
In the foreign sun you pass forever on
The graveyard of empires is calling you
Calling you, it’s calling you
It’s calling you to conquer
The graveyard of empires is calling you
Won't be dark tonight
A great despair, we know why
Some say it's alright
But we all know, that's a lie
I fear the day that's coming
Bring back the night to me
Yeah
Voices from the crowd
Said burn the earth, it's allowed
Chaos coming now
And we all know, it won't go out
I fear for all tomorrow
Don't need the sun to see
A world in sleepless sorrow
In flames eternally
Burn with me
By my light, you will see
Burn with me
Paradise will never be
And now in the twilight
I see the smoke rise
Burn with me
By my light, you will see
Burn with me
Paradise will never be
Outside in the twilight
I see the smoke rise
Oh, in fires in the distance
Our sadness glowing
Burning on
Going alone, going alone, going alone
Take that pharaoh
Going alone, going alone, going alone
Take that pharaoh
When the lights die down
You'll see them go
Going alone, going alone, going alone
Take that pharaoh
Going alone, going alone, going alone
Take that pharaoh
When the lights die down
You'll see them go
We are all living for the game
For the game, oh, Heaven is weeping
We are all living for the game
For the game, oh, Heaven is weeping
Please don't let my memory fail me now
'Cause I've waited all this time and I can't run another mile
Oh, please don't let the world know now
Please don't let the world know now
We are all living for the game
For the game, oh, Heaven is weeping
We are all living for the game

Tormentor
Pharaoh he sits in his tower of steel
The dogs of money all at his heel
Magicians cry Oh Truth! Oh Real!
We're all working for the Pharaoh
A thousand eyes a thousand ears
He feeds us all he feeds our fears
Don't stir in your sleep tonight my dears
We're all working for the Pharaoh
Egypt Land Egypt Land
We're all living in Egypt land
Tell me brother don't you understand
We're all working for the Pharaoh
Hidden from the eye of chance
The men of shadow dance a dance
And we're all struck into a trance
We're all working for the Pharaoh
Idols rise into the sky
Pyramids soar Sphinxes lie
Head of dog Osiris eye
We're all working for the Pharaoh
I dig a ditch I shape a stone
Another battlement for his throne
Tell me brother do you understand
We're all working for the Pharaoh
Call it England call it Spain
Egypt rules with the whip and chain
Moses free my people again!
We're all working for the Pharaoh
And its Egypt Land! Egypt Land!
We're all living in Egypt Land
Tell me brother do'nt you understand
We're all working for the Pharaoh
Interlude
Pharaoh he sits in his tower of steel
Around his feet the princes kneel
Far below we shoulder the wheel
Call her your queen
And lay a bed of roses at her feet
Court the obscene
And lay with the swine
Her pledges and promises
Naked lies that beg your own decline
See no wrong in this
You're drunk on her venomous wine
Poison fills your cup
And when your mouth starts to foam
You trust that you're rightly riled
Frothing bile
Yank the leash, command it to comply
The Wolves are coming
Raise the whip and dare it to defy
The Wolves are coming
You thought you raised a dog, and wonder why
The wolf has bloodlust in his eyes
You're the trembling prey
Wolves will not obey
Slave in the mines
And praise your masters' magnanimity
Die for his diamonds
And groan for his gold
Unguarded and tame
Broken by the hypnotizing hold
Think you're high from the flames
But you're feverish out in the cold
Your life is cheaply sold
And then when the coal runs out
And the mountains are stripped and bare
Where's your share?
Yank the leash, command it to comply
The Wolves are coming
Raise the whip and dare it to defy
The Wolves are coming
You thought you raised a dog, and wonder why
The wolf has bloodlust in his eyes
You're the trembling prey
Wolves will not obey
Hacking and lame
Deny yourself the wanted medicine
The mark in a game
That you think you control
Wager with your soul
And so you howl with the wolves
But the scent on the wind is yours
The bloody track is yours
Yank the leash, command it to comply
The Wolves are coming
Raise the whip and dare it to defy
The Wolves are coming
You thought you raised a dog, and wonder why
The wolf has bloodlust in his eyes
You're the trembling prey
Pharaoh he sits in his tower of steel
The dogs of money all at his heel

We're all living in Egypt land
Tell me, brother, don't you understand
We're all working for the Pharaoh
Pharaoh he sits in his tower of steel
Around his feet the princes kneel
Far beneath we shoulder the wheel
In total darkness, slime is the air that I breathe
The stifled choking of sinners is all that I hear
Forever drowning, clawing for life in a bloody sea
But after ages, I feel something new to be near
A thread in the blackness above!
I start the climbing, pulling myself up the thread
Unto the heavens, hand over hand to a great salvation
Up many miles, the Mountain of Needles is small down
below
My arms grow tired, ascending the silk to escape
damnation
Looking down, I see a line
A thousand sinners close behind
Return to hell
This thread is mine!
(snap)
Oh! Can I ever hope to recover?
Back into the sea
The heaving depths of my misery
No! Can I hope again to discover
A thread to set me free
Music: Symphony X
Lyrics: Allen
Ancient lands, lost in time
Storms of sand, walls of lime
Surround this mask of death I wear
Awakened by intruder souls
The jackal screams as my stone gods behold
Desecraters of Ra
CHORUS
Pharaoh's curse upon you
Who dares to invade his sacred ground
Gods of the Nile arise to strike you down
Forgotten days of my rule,
Cities blazed with gold and jewel
Diamond symbol of riches beyond compare
Now I lay cold in this chamber of stone
Fools forsaken the wrath of my throne
Desecraters of Ra
CHORUS
Pharaoh's curse upon you
Who dares to invade his sacred ground
Gods of the Nile arise to strike you down
Mystic gods of the stars - I summon thee from afar
Sun, moon and earth - align for my rebirth
I feel the blood flow through my veins
The life force shines on me again
Let the ritual begin - you will pay for your sins
I am god, I am king of the land
The hour of judgement is at hand
Winds of revenge sweep through the sand
The mighty pharaoh lives again
SOLO
CHORUS
Pharaoh's curse upon you
Who dares to invade his sacred ground
Gods of the Nile arise to strike you down
Pharaoh's curse upon you
Who dares to invade his sacred ground
It's another heroes' sunset
I'm riding on the Great North Road
Coiled and tensed in wonder
As the land turns burning gold
[Chorus:]
Out in the sun, out in the wind
I'm nearly ready now to come back again
We are silent in this worship
Beneath the breathing of the summer trees
They sparkle in a dance of silver
As the light falls through the leaves
[Chorus:]
Out in the sun, out in the wind
I'm nearly ready now to come back again
So from the wisdom of trances, the armies of Jesus
To the Voodoo possessions, the different disguises
At dusk in the mountains, all bowed in surrender
A thousand voices calling out a million names
We knelt as we lit the candles
Around the little shrine
Take me back to the white light
I want to go there again
[Chorus:]
Out in the sun, out in the wind
