In 2008 as Frank Miller's live action feature film based on Will Eisner's "The Spirit" was being released I wrote a piece for the Los Angeles Times on the time, back in 1980, when I became involved with Brad Bird and Gary Kurtz (producer of the first two "Star Wars" movies) in trying to get into production an animated feature based on "The Spirit" In that piece, which you can read here: http://herocomplex.latimes.com/uncategorized/the-spirit-that/ I spoke of a pencil test "trailer" for the our proposed film that was made by Bird along with several classmates from Cal Arts, most of whom were working at Disney at the time. Quite a few people who read the article contacted me about seeing the film. I did have it on an old VHS, but it was deep in storage at the time plus as I did not really own the film, I told them they would have to look elsewhere to find a copy. Later, I found the VHS and put it aside. Recently Andrea Fiamma, an Italian journalist writing on the subject for the website Fumettologica," asked again if the film could be seen. As it is a small piece of animation history, I've decided to post it here.

Ratatouille (/rætəˈtuːiː/; French pronunciation: [ʁatatuj]) is a 2007 American computer-animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the eighth film produced by Pixar, and was co-written and directed by Brad Bird, who took over from Jan Pinkava in 2005. The title refers to a French dish, "ratatouille", which is served at the end of the film, and is also a play on words about the species of the main character. The film stars the voices of Patton Oswalt as Remy, an anthropomorphic rat who is interested in cooking; Lou Romano as Linguini, a young garbage boy who befriends Remy; Ian Holm as Skinner, the head chef of Auguste Gusteau's restaurant; Janeane Garofalo as Colette, a rôtisseur at Gusteau's restaurant; Peter O'Toole as Anton Ego, a restaurant critic; Brian Dennehy as Django, Remy's father and leader of his clan; Peter Sohn as Emile, Remy's older brother; and Brad Garrett as Auguste Gusteau, a recently deceased chef. The plot follows Remy, who dreams of becoming a chef and tries to achieve his goal by forming an alliance with a Parisian restaurant's garbage boy. Remy is an idealistic and ambitious young rat, gifted with highly developed senses of taste and smell. Inspired by his idol, the recently deceased chef Auguste Gusteau, Remy dreams of becoming a cook himself. When an old woman sees his clan, they are forced to abandon their home; Remy is separated from them as a result of the woman's gunshots. He ends up in the sewers of Paris and eventually finds himself at a skylight overlooking the kitchen of Gusteau's restaurant. As Remy watches, a young man named Alfredo Linguini is hired as a garbage boy by Skinner, the restaurant's devious current owner and Gusteau's former sous-chef. When Linguini spills a pot of soup and attempts to recreate it with disastrous results, Remy falls into the kitchen and cooks the soup to perfection rather than escaping. Linguini catches Remy and is confronted by Skinner. As Skinner yells at Linguini, the soup is accidentally served and proves to be a success. Colette Tatou, the staff's only female chef, convinces Skinner to retain Linguini, who is assumed to be the soup's creator. After Skinner catches Remy in the act of escaping, he orders Linguini to kill him, but he cannot do it. Linguini then discovers Remy's intelligence and passion for food, so he keeps him. Patton Oswalt as Remy. Director Brad Bird chose Oswalt after hearing his food-related comedy routine. Remy was named after director Brad Bird's dog, an American Hairless Terrier.[3] Lou Romano as Alfredo Linguini, the son of Auguste Gusteau and Renata Linguini. Janeane Garofalo as Colette Tatou, Gusteau's rôtisseur, inspired by French chef Hélène Darroze.[4][5] Ian Holm as Skinner, a diminutive chef and owner of Auguste Gusteau's restaurant. Since Gusteau's death, Skinner has used the Gusteau name to market a line of cheap microwaveable meals. Skinner's behavior, diminutive size, and body language are loosely based on Louis de Funès.[6] Brian Dennehy as Django, Remy and Emile's father and the leader of the rats. Peter O'Toole as Anton Ego, a restaurant critic. His appearance was modeled after Louis Jouvet.[7] Brad Garrett as Auguste Gusteau (whose first name and last name are anagrams of each other). Many reviewers believe that Gusteau is inspired by real-life chef Bernard Loiseau, who committed suicide after media speculation that his flagship restaurant, La Côte d'Or, was going to be downgraded from three Michelin stars to two.[8] La Côte d'Or was one of the restaurants visited by Brad Bird and others in France

The Incredibles is a 2004 American computer-animated comedy superhero film written and directed by Brad Bird and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It was the sixth film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The film's title is the name of a family of superheroes who are forced to hide their powers and live a quiet suburban life. Mr. Incredible's desire to help people draws the entire family into a battle with an evil villain and his killer robot. Bird, who was Pixar's first outside director, developed the film as an extension of 1960s comic books and spy films from his boyhood and personal family life. He pitched the film to Pixar after the box office disappointment of his first feature, The Iron Giant (1999), and carried over much of its staff to develop The Incredibles. The animation team was tasked with animating an all-human cast, which required creating new technology to animate detailed human anatomy, clothing and realistic skin and hair. Michael Giacchino composed the film's orchestral score. "Supers" – humans with superpowers – are forced into civilian relocation programs after facing several lawsuits from peripheral damage caused by their crime fighting activities. Fifteen years after relocation, Bob and Helen Parr, formerly Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl, and their children Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack live as a suburban family. Bob is unsatisfied with suburban life and his white-collar job and longs for the glory days. On some nights, Bob and his old friend Lucius Best, formerly Frozone, perform vigilante work, unbeknownst to Helen. One day, Bob loses his temper when his supervisor refuses to let him stop a mugging, causing Bob to be dismissed. Returning home, Bob finds a message from a woman named Mirage, who convinces him to become Mr. Incredible again and gives him a mission to destroy a malfunctioning robot called the Omnidroid, promising a substantial reward. Arriving on Nomanisan Island, Bob is able to defeat the robot by tricking it into ripping out its own power source. Bob is rejuvenated by being able to use his powers freely, improving his attitude and relationship with his family, and he begins rigorous training while waiting for more work from Mirage. Discovering a fresh tear in his suit, Bob visits superhero costume designer Edna Mode who decides to make him and his whole family suits, unbeknownst to Helen and the children. Leaving for Nomanisan once again, Bob discovers that Mirage is working for Buddy Pine, a former fan shunned by Mr. Incredible and now identifying as the super-villain Syndrome. Syndrome intends to perfect the Omnidroid and defeat it in public in Metroville while manipulating its controls to become a hero himself, and then sell his inventions so everyone will become equally "super", making the term meaningless. Bob sneaks into Syndrome's base and finds Syndrome's computer. From it, Bob discovers Syndrome murdered countless retired superheroes with previous Omnidroid prototypes to improve its design. Meanwhile, Helen visits Edna, finds out what Bob has been up to, and activates a homing beacon to find him, inadvertently causing Bob to be discovered and captured. Development of Ratatouille began in 2001 when Pinkava wrote the original concepts of the film. In 2005, Bird was approached to direct the film and revised the story. Bird and some of the film's crew members also visited Paris for inspiration. To create the food animations used in the film, the crew consulted chefs from both France and the United States. Bird also interned at Thomas Keller's French Laundry restaurant, where Keller developed the confit byaldi, a dish used in the film. Ratatouille premiered on June 22, 2007 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and had its general release on June 29, 2007 in the United States. The film grossed $623.7 million at the box office and received critical acclaim. The film later won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, among other honors.

New Animation Movies - Ratatouille - Cartoon Movies, Comedy Movies, English Subtitles Full HD Subscribe for more: http://goo.gl/XAQKkH ====================================== Director: Brad Bird, Jan Pinkava Starring: Brad Garrett, Lou Romano, Patton Oswalt Genre: Animation, Comedy, Family IMDB:8,0 Release Year: 2011 A rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely - and certainly unwanted - visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy's passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down. noodls 2015-04-15Phillip Bradley "Brad" Bird (born September 24, 1957) is a critically acclaimed American director, screenwriter, animator, voice actor and producer. He is best known for having written and directed Warner Bros.' The Iron Giant (1999), and Pixar's The Incredibles (2004) and Ratatouille (2007). He made his live-action film directing debut with Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011).
All of Bird's films have received universal acclaim (or in the case of The Iron Giant, grown in popularity with time). On Rotten Tomatoes, his four films average a 95.75% rating, making him one of the most acclaimed living filmmakers, animated or otherwise.
Bird was born in Kalispell, Montana, the youngest of four children of Marjorie A. (née Cross) and Philip Cullen Bird. His father worked in the propane business, and his grandfather, Francis Wesley "Frank" Bird, who was born in Sligo, Ireland, was a president and chief executive of the Montana Power Company. On a tour of the Walt Disney Studios at age 11, he announced that someday he would become part of its animation team, and soon afterward began work on his own 15-minute animated short. Within two years, Bird had completed his animation, which impressed the cartoon company. By age 14, barely in high school, Bird was mentored by the animator Milt Kahl, one of Disney’s legendary Nine Old Men. Bird recalls Kahl's criticisms as ideal: Kahl would point out shortcomings by gently delivering thoughts on where Bird could improve. After graduating from Corvallis High School in Corvallis, Oregon in 1975, Bird took a three-year break. He was then awarded a scholarship by Disney to attend California Institute of the Arts, where he met and befriended another future animator, Pixar co-founder and director John Lasseter.
this place is hell to me
with the devil in my bed
and the devil in this bottle
and the devil in my head
I'll meet you in heaven again
if you wear that dress again
(I'll have one more drink, my friend)
where my heart is kept on ice
and prayers burst into flames
when ya walk outa here
when ya walk out
I gotta fill up that space
or fill up that no-space
I'll fill it up with tears
I'll fill it up with tears
I'll fill it up with tears
I'll fill it up with tears and
cry cry cry cry
where no-fish can swim
where no-fish can swim
where no-fish can swim
where no-fish can
cry cry cry cry
when ya slam that door
when that door slams
i gotta fill up that space
an' I'll pack my suitcase
I'll fill it up with no-clothes
fill it up with no-clothes
fill it up with no-clothes
fill it up with no-clothes
I'll fill it up with tears
I'll pack it up with tears
I'll fill it up with tears
I'll pack it up with tears and cry cry cry cry
where no-fish can swim
where no-fish can swim
where no-fish can swim
where no-fish can
cry cry cry cry
when ya slam that door
when that door slams
I'll dig my-self a hole
and I'll fill up that space
I'll fill it up with no-flesh
an' I'll fill it up with flesh
I'll fill it up with no-flesh
an' I'll fill it up with flesh
I'll fill it up with tears
I'll pack it up with tears

First: i tried to kill it with a hammer
Thought that i could lose
The head
Sure! we've eaten off the silver
(when even food was against us)
And then i tried to kill it in the bed
Second: i gagged it with a pillow
But awoke the nuns inside
My head
They pounded their goddy-goddy fists
(from the inside - so from the outside)
I got good: i stuck it. dead
Thirdly: i put my lips upon it
And blew a frost across
Its flat
I wrote upon its outside-surface
"tonite we're on the outside-surface"
Kathy's kisses, they fall out of
her mouth onto the floor, collect dust

spat it out in front of me
well I love that kewpie doll

I have a friend in you, oh Mr Clarinet
you make me laugh, and then cry like the song of the clarinet.
marry me, marry me alive O
I put on my coat of trumpets
will she be there? is my piccolo on straight?
her white stockings and red dress that goes
swish, swish, swish around her legs of lace
marry me, marry me alive O
could you tell her
would you tell her for me, oh Mr Clarinet
that I love her love her, oh love her
I love her but I cannot wait
marry me, marry me alive O
oh maybe, oh maybe lie down
I love her, love her, love her
Well, I, jump and fled this fuckin' heap on doctored wings
My flailin' pinions, with splints and rags and crutches
(Damn things nearly hardly flap)
Canker upon canker upon one million tiny punctures
That look like long thin red ribbons
Draped across the arms of a lil' mortal girl
(Like a ground plan of hell)
Curse these smartin' strings, these fuckin' ruptures
Enough, enough is enough
(If this is heaven ah? m bailin' out)
If this is heaven ah? m bailin' out
I can't tolerate this ol tin-tub
So fulla trash and rats felt one crawl across my soul
For a seckon there, as thought as wassa back down in the ghetto
(Rats in paradise! rats in paradise)
I'm bailin' out, there? s a mutiny in heaven
I wassa born and Lord shakin'
Even then was dumped into some icy font
Like some great stinky unclean
From slum-chuch to slum-church, I spilt my heart
To some fat cunt behind a screen
Evil poppin' eye pressed up to the opening
He? d slide shut the lil' perforated hatch at night my body
Blushed to the whistle of the birch
With a lil' practice I soon learnt to use in on myself
Punishment? Reward, punishment?
Reward, well, ah tied on, perched on my bed
I was stickin' a needle in my arm
Ah tied off! fuckin' wings burst out my back
(Like I was cuttin' teeth)
I took off
(Rats in paradise! rats in paradise)
There? s a mutiny in Heaven
Oh Lord, I git down on my knees
(I git down on my knees and start to pray)
Wrapped in my mongrel wings, ah nearly freeze
In the howlin' wind and drivin' rain
(All the trash blowin' round and round)
From slum-heaven into town
I take my tiny pain and rollin' back my sleeve
Roll Anna, roll Anna, roll Anna roll)
I yank the drip outa my vein, utopiate! I? m bailin' out
Utopiate, if this is Heaven ah? m bailin' out
My threadbare soul teems with vermin and louse
Thoughts come like a plague to the head, in God? s house
Mutiny in Heaven
(Ars infectio forco dio)
To the plank
(Rats in paradise! rats in paradise)
I? m bailin' out
(Hail hypuss dermio vita rex)

Big Jesus, soul mates, trash can
Well, it's a fucking rotten business this
Both feet in the bad-boot
Lie stiff in the crypt, baby, like a rock
In a rock, in a rock, in a rock
Big Jesus, soul mates, trash can
And he pumped me fulla trash
At least it smells like trash
And he's got greasy hair
Wears a suit of gold
But God gave me sex appeal
Right, right, right, right
Well well well rock
Well well well rock
Well well well rock
Well well well rock
He drives a trash-can
He drives a trash-can
He drives a trash-can
He drives a trash-can
And he's comin' to my town
He's comin' to my town
He's comin' to my town
He's comin' to my town
Rock, rock, rock, rock, right
Big Jesus, oil king down in Texas
Drives great holy tanks of gold
Screams from Heaven's graveyard
American heads will roll in Texas
Roll like daddy's meat
Roll under those singing stars of Texas
Roll under those glorious singing stars of Texas
Well well well rock
Well well well rock

Now I'm energized the dead shall rise and walk the night
Feel the pulse of steel rush through your veins the dragon burns
Off my thoughts go racing
Through the streets I'm racing
Feel the magic in the air
Electric is the night
On wings of black I ride
The candle blazing at both ends
Infinite power, my energy increases by the hours
I feel virtually unstopable
No one can contain my inner rage
My mind expanding
Into the abyss I'm spinning in the darkness
So climb aboard my hectic ship
We'll do a hit and we will blast off!
Spin the wheel tonight, euphoric high, I live to die
Rock is in the pipe, the needle's eye will stitch you blind
Feel the fire moving
Head to toe I'm grooving
Ecstasy I'm feeling now
Nothing can go wrong
My body getting strong
Hallucinations of delight
Forever chaos rein a blast of white into your veins
Come lust the endless night of fantasy we make our flight!
This will not last forever
Soon I return to reality
Misery breaks me to pieces
I must recharge my battery
Etchitty, sketchitty
Scratchitty, scrappity, etchitty, sketchitty, sketch!
Forever chaos rein a blast of white into your veins...
Come lust the endless night of fantasy we make our flight...
Forever chaos rein a blast of white into your veins...
Come lust the endless night of fantasy we make our flight...

the woods eats the woman and dumps her honey-body in the mud
her dress floats down the well and it assumes the shape of the body of a
little girl
yeah I recognize that girl
she stumbled in some time last loneliness
but I could not stand to touch her now
my one and onlyness.
deep in the woods
deep in the woods
deep in the woods a funeral is swinging.
worms make their cruel design
saying D-I-E into her skin
saying DEAD into belly and DEATH into shoulder
well last night she kissed me but than DEATH was upon her.
deep in the woods
deep in the woods yeah
deep in the woods a funeral is swinging.
now the killed waits for the killer
and the trees all nod their heads, they are agreed
this knife feels like a knife feels like a knife that feels like it's feed.
yeah I recognize that girl
I took her from rags right through to stitches (pray for me now)
oh baby, tonight we sleep in separate ditches.
deep in the woods
deep in the woods yeah
deep in the woods a funeral is swinging.
love is for fools and all fools are lovers
it's raining on my house and none of the others
love is for fools and God knows I'm still one
the sidewalks are full of love's lonely children
the sidewalks are full of love's lonely children
the sidewalks are full of love's lonely children
the sidewalks are full of love's ugly children
(oh baby let's go, ah pray for me baby, pray for me baby)
the sidewalk regrets that we had to kill them
The light from the window
Falls on the floor
And after it breaks
I cut my feet
On the little bright pieces
(i glow in the dark)
But only when night falls
It's falling it's falling
It's falling it's falling
It falls
My head is a night-club
Club-clubbed to dull drums
Beating to slow
To dance or to breathe or to dance
I insist that you cut in
(i a la flamb?
I'm drinking i'm drinking
I'm drinking i'm drinking
I'm drunk
on this European night out on the brink
the cafes and the bars still stink
the air is much too thick for seeing
but not thick enough for leaning
I leave in a catatonic crawl
and if I die tonight then throw me in
some bleak teutonic hole
six feet under with a snap-frozen soul
and really we could all just die of shame
dumb Europe, dumb Europe, dumb Europe.
oh the Utopian night on the brink
Mama's face staring up at me from the bottom of the sink
witness my trail of destruction
trying to leave this drinking place
my feet are magnetised for furniture
the floor's attracted to my face
and if I die tonight
sell me as some pre-historic bone
a lump of junk-souvenir for Jap
to fob off on his friends back home
the money-dance...
I find it hard to cope with days like this. pass the bottle etc.
dumb Europe, dumb Europe, dumb Europe.
on this European night out on the brink
the cafes and the bars still stink
the air is much too thick for seeing
but not thick enough for leaning
I leave in a catatonic crawl
and if I die tonight then throw me in
some bleak teutonic hole
six feet under with a snap-frozen soul
and really we could all just die of shame
Gun wears his alcoholism well
Finger in bottle and swingin' it still
From bed to sink and back again
Clock is crawlin' round the same
He's bustin' clock (he hates its face)
Just sittin' and talkin' to heart and ticks
Talkin' back to clock in slow and studied kicks
The fears of gun are the fears of everyone.
Fingers down the throat of love
Fingers down the throat of love
Fingers down the throat of love
Love! love!
Gun does the waltz around the room
Collecting table and chairs and sofa and so on and so on
Gun wears his best blue suit, now let's take to the sky
'we'll go dancin' and eatin' it up
Get a bottle and push it on down'
And let's just beat it up
Transistor radio plays an overwhelmingly sad and lonely song
Saying 'where she gone? where she gone?'
The fears of gun are the fears of everyone.
Fingers down the throat of love
Fingers down the throat of love
Fingers down the throat of love
wow! uh oh
I am a figure of fun
obsessive, dead-pan and moribund
[creantic girl] seasick
I am the figure of fun
[?] I baked in the sun
I have no luck in love
I have no luck in anything
I am a figure of fun
and I'm impressed by everyone
but I impress no-one
it's irritating
I am a figure of fun
ROCK!
I am a figure of fun
I have money
but money isn't everything to a figure of
fun fun fun fun fun fun...
this is a dead letter tale
if I could make this print talk
you made a deep mark/deep mark on me
and only saints say such things as these
so I slid under the floor
under the oak and the iron
with you under oak and iron
under the thick and under the thin
where only fire grows...
I forgot to tell you several things - Ma
I forgot to tell you several things - Ma
I forgot to tell you several things - Ma
I forgot to tell you 'bout the 7 sins
and I spat dead letter words
and all the breath that I own
imprinted one word in red/I read
and only saints say such things as these
about the marks on your throat
under the oak and the iron
under the fat and the thick and the thin
and all of that, and a few 100 more
and only fire grow
I heard the fire grow
alone in the...
I forgot to tell you several things - Ma
I forgot to tell you several things - Ma
I forgot to tell you several things - Ma
I forgot to tell you 'bout the 7 sins
Whoah bite
Whoah bite
Release the bats, release the bats
Don't tell me that it doesn't hurt
A hundred fluttering in your skirt
Oh, don't tell me that it doesn't hurt
My baby is alright
She doesn't mind a bit of dirt
She says, "Horror vampire, bat bite"
She says, "Horror vampire
How I wish those bats would bite"
Whoah bite, whoah bite
Release the bats and release the bats
Pump them up and explode the things
Her legs are chafed by sticky wings
The sticky, sticky little things
My baby is a cool machine
She moves to the pulse of her generator
Says, "Damn that sex supreme"
She says, "Damn that horror bat"
Sex vampire, cool machine, uh
Release the bats, release the bats
Release them
Baby is a cool machine
She moves to the pulse of her generator
She says, "Damn that sex supreme"
She says, she says, "Damn that horror bat"
Sex horror, sex bat, sex horror, sex vampire
Sex bat, horror vampire, sex
Cool machine
Horror bat, bite
Cool machine, bite
Sex vampire, bite
turn to my eyes so I may still you
snatching such a vision burns a shape into me
yet another hole, yet another hole in this infested soul
in this infested soul
could I keep you, keep you, keep you, keep you
here in my pocket, and hang you out and show around?
not much, not too much, oh let it ring
oh let it ring oh let it ring wow! let it ring...
and maybe in time I could change
and I would try to be you and I would kill to be good
until then, let's be eye to eye to eye to eye to eye
Catman's coming, better look out
Catman's coming, running about
Catman's coming, looking for a girl
Better hide your sister, man
C is for the crazy hairdo that he wears around
A is for the arms that he'll sneak around your waist
T is for the taste on the lips belong to you, yeah man
M is for the mean things that this mean man does
A is for all the hearts that he has ever broke
N is for the names on the list you may be on
Catman
Catman's looking for a woman all day long
Better watch out
Better watch out
You better watch out because you're gonna get kissed
You better watch out because he is in your midst
Catman
You better watch out because of Mr. catman
The drumming deceives you
The blood in your veins
And it pounds in a tattoo
It brings you to rags
And the
Guilt parade
The guilt parade
Parade, parade
The happy monotony
It drags like a nail
And it ladders your mealy mouth
Into splintering smiles
And the
Guilt parade
The guilt parade
Parade, parade
Wave and say hello
Wave and say hello
Wave and say hello
It's all a crumble locomotion on you
And we feel out the shining in our signaling suits
And explode into hohohoho!
It's a manner, hehehehehe, stow!
And we won't get to sleep for fifty thousand years
And we won't get to sleep for maybe five minutes
Waving my arms in motion around alot
Waving my arms in motion around alot
It's all a crumble locomotion on you
And we feel out the shining in our signaling suits
And explode into hohohoho!
It's a manner, hehehehehe, stow!
And we won't get to sleep for fifty thousand years
And we won't get to sleep for maybe five minutes
Waving my arms in motion around alot
Waving my arms in motion around alot
Waving my arms in motion around alot
To get a breath of fresh air
A tempestuous sea
A howling gale
Dirty weather
Hang around until lunch
Death by drowning
Death by drowning
It's an absolute dump
To get the tips of your toes wet
To be suntanned
His skin's peeling
To build sandcastles
Death by drowning
Death by drowning
To get out of one's depth
Carried off by the current
Lovely sea trip
The sea is only
A stone's throw from the beach
Death by drowning
Dancing like a chimney sweep
I look ridiculous
All hands and feet
The hat's on wrong
The hat's on wrong
The hat's on wrong
The hat's on
It's wrong, wrong, wrong, etc.
The skulls are just like stepping stones
The river's littered with little bones
The hat's on wrong
The hat's on wrong
The hat's on wrong
The hat's on
It is on wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
It's on wrong, wrong, wrong
The grass is green
The sky is blue
My feet are bound in bamboo
The hat's on wrong
The hat's on wrong
The hat's on wrong
The hat's on
It's on wrong, wrong, wrong
It's on wrong, wrong
The hat is on wrong, wrong
My hat is on wrong, wrong
On my skull
Look at me, my hat is on wrong
The street is very wide
And I can't see across it
My house isn't clear to me
The cars move in between
And I say "Question:
When is a door not a door?"
And I say "That's not right!
Answer: When it's ajar!"
The numbers soft as soap
And tend to bend in addition
They're much too wan for me
I'd prefer some consistency
And I say "Question:
When is a door not a door?"
And I say "That's not right!
Answer: when it's ajar!"
The windows open wide
But I can't see out of it
The view is not very there
Sometimes I look for it
And I say "Question:
When is a door not a door?"
And I say "That's not right!
I stuck a six-inch gold blade in the head of a girl
she: lying through her teeth, him: on his back
hands off this one, hands off! she cried
grinning at me from hip to hip
hands off, pretty baby, tough bone then so soft to slip
oooh yeah
I stuck a six-inch gold blade in the head of a girl
sharks-fin slices sugar-bed slices that pretty red-head
I love you! now me! I love you!
laughter, laughter
oh baby, those skinny girls, they're so quick to murder
oooh yeah
shake it baby, c'mon, shake, shake it baby
La, la, la....
With all the fortune Snatch at our hearts And when ourhungerhearts Until we find what we crave We fall for a fortune I save my soul for a lie, lie, lie
...my son of a spell Our vows were made to be broken ...was made to swing ...was made to swing Upon the shadow of a long ago moon
We're on a course fixed by fire She says me lies This is the prize of my birthright I mean I know zero of your girl's cologne I mean I know zero of your girl's cologne I mean I know zero of your girl's cologne ...that sticks to my veins ...that sticks to my veins
Before fortune fell us And we fall even further Oh, we will feel our fortune Oh, just singing away Oh, just singing away I have the future for a lie, lie, lie
We're on a course fixed by fire She says me lies This is the prize of my birthright I mean I know zero of your girl's cologne I mean I know zero of your girl's cologne I mean I know zero of your girl's cologne ...that sticks to my veins ...that sticks to my veins
With my face drained of colour
And my brain of blood
Like Billy Budd
I'm lashed to the grating;
With senses growing duller
And with quaking heart
I make a start
At temperature equating
And my lungs suck useless air.
Like paraplegic dancers
In formation team
My understanding seems
Hiidebound in its movements,
Contemplating answers
That could break my bonds--
To be half wrong
Would be, in me, improvement...
But my comprehensive faculties are impaired.
And it seems absurd, but now all I've heard
Fades in empty words and is worthless
As the Human Laugh rocks the cenotaph
But the joke is half-true, and mirthless.
Trying to trace a reason
From the spinning words
But all I've heard
Seem at odds with their meanings,
Phonetically pleasing
But delivered in such haste
That in their place
My mind commences screaming.
On the verge of belief I crash onto the reef
And a cynical thief steals my senses,
So I cling to the pew with dimensions askew,
And recognition refuses present tenses.
All the lives of the saints demonstrate that my faint
Is a minor complaint, but the end is
Nowhere in sight,
Why can't I find me a way to go?
I don't want to die in the nave,
But I know it may be with me some day
So I've got to find a way I can save up
My evergies, and find a cause to pray
So something for something
To which I can give my creed...
I'd gladly succumb to the wave,
If I thought the water taught a way to light;
I'd gladly succumb--I'm not brave,
And it's easy to believe what the preacher says
Except for the conflict raging between my head
And my brain.
I don't want to die, but just the same--
Some day...
Waiting for that moment
That I know will come
When I'll have to run
And find another sermon...
Everyman and Norman
And the talking priest--
Still, I am at least
Holding all the doors open.
Inside me all outside is shared.
As the cracked bells peal it all seems unreal
But the seventh seal stays unbroken
And the Offertory plate tenders no escape--
Still I refuse to scrape up a token
Of esteem for these false
Alleyways of the course;
I must try to divorce sense from sensing.
Tell me again,
Tell me the way to go.
So when I talk to myself
Although I take good care to listen
My heart grows ever more faint--

A catholic skin Boneless and uh thin blue fried flesh Fresh as butter Stained and dry When is a week not a wicked week? When flies attack his polished dome His nostrils bleed into a cup, a cup A perfect catholic skin Skin, skin!
Da da daa...
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Our life together is a hollow tooth
Spit out the shells, spit out the shells
You know exactly what I'm talking about
Don't drag the orchestra into this thing
Rattle those sticks, rattle those sticks
The sound is beautiful, it's perfect
The sound of her young legs in stockings
The rhythm of her walk, it's beautiful
Just let it twist, let it break
Let it buckle, let it bend
I want to hear the noise of my
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
My body is a monster driven insane
My heart is a fish toasted by flames
I kiss the hem of her skirt
My life is box full of dirt
We spend our life in a box full of dirt too
I murder her dress till it hurts
If there is one thing I desire in the world
Is to make love to my
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl
The sound is beautiful, it's perfect
I call out her name in the night
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
I call her by her family name
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Oh God, please let me die beneath her fists
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music
Zoo-music
Zoo-music
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Zoo-music girl, zoo-music girl
Guitar thug blew into town
His eyes like wheels spinnin' round
Jerkin-off at every sound
Layin' all his crosses down
O yeah
He got Six Strings
The Six Strings that drew blood
The bar is full of Holy-Joes
A Holy-hole-a-whole-aria
Around the neck of our consumptive rose
is the root of all his sorrows
O yeah
He got Six Strings
Six Strings that drew blood
A Holy-hole-a-whole-aria
Six Strings that drew blood
In the bathroom under cover
He turns on one tap to discover
He's smashed his teeth out on the other
Well he look in the mirror and say
don't fuck me brother
Cause I got Six Strings
Six Strings that drew blood
Numbin' the runt of reputation they call rat fame
Top-E as a tourniquet
A low tune whistles across his grave
Forever the master and the slave of his Six Strings
A Holy-hole-a-whole-aria
hey hey I am the stow-a-way
hey hey I am the stow-a-way
my girl turned as blue as an iceberg do
and me I'm totally shipwrecked over her

I am the stow-a-way
this is your captain talking to ya

heartache
hey hey I am the stow-a-way
I am the stow-a-way
my baby turned blue as an iceberg do
and I sank to the bottom of the sea
hey baby don't blow away
hey hey I am the stow-a-way
I am the stow-a-way
this is your doctor talking to ya
this is your doctor talking to ya
this is your doctor talking to ya
this is your doctor talking to ya
Quicksand, I'm in it's grip
Quicksand, I'm in it's grip
A sinken in the mud
Patron saint of the bog
They come with boots of blood
With pitchfork and with club
And they're chantin' out my name
And they got doggies screamin' on a chain
Lucy, I'll love you till the end
They hunt me like a dog
Down in swamp land
So come my executioner
Come my bounty hunter
Come my county killers
I cannot run no more
I cannot run no more
I cannot run no more
No, I can't, no
Oh, Lucy, you won't see this face again
When I caught you swing and burn
Down in swamp land
The trees are veiled in fog
The trees are veiled in fog
Like so many jilted brides
Hey and now they're all breakin down and cryin'
Splashing tears upon my face
Splashing tears cold upon my face
And they smell of gasoline, I scream
Lucy, you made a sinner right out of me
And now I'm burnin' like a saint
Down in swamp land
So come my executioner
Come my bounty hunter
Come my county killers
I cannot run no more
I cannot run no more
I cannot run no more
I cannot run no more
No, I can't
There is woman pie in here
Mr. Evangelist says, she's hit
The best cook you ever had
You can't blame the good woman now, dad
And you locked him up for twenty years
Now there's action on the basement stairs now
A monster half man half beast grind
I hear the hatchet grind grind
The pilgrim gets one hacked daughter
And all we get are forty hack reporters
Uptown's on a hundred skirts are bleeding
And Mr Evangelist says
She's hit every little bit
She's hit every little bit
She's hit every little bit
She's hit she's hit she's hit
Now if only we could all grow wings and fly
Sweet hatchet swing low son
I'm feeling mighty lonesome
That Christen the bastard Jack dad
The head shrinker is a quack
Anyone, anyone, anyone who'd wear their hair like that
The vinyl is so cool but the conversation's cruel
Hold my head Romeo it's in a rodeo
Hold my heart daddyo it just won't go
Hold my heart Romeo it's in a rodeo
Hold my head daddyo it just won't go
And all the girls across the world
And all the girls across the world
Are hit every little bit
She's hit every little bit
She's hit every little bit
She's hit every little bit
She's hit she's hit she's hit
And she won't get up
She's hit every little bit she's hit
She's hit she's hit yeah
She's hit she's hit she's hit
And she won't get up she's hit
And she won't get up she's hit
And she won't get up she's hit
Every little bit she's hit she's hit she's hit
I, cigarette fingers
puff and poke
puff and poking the smoke
touches the ground
you, your lungs and your wrists
they throb like trains
choo choo choo
it's a prison of sound
of sound
she, by my chinny chin chin
eee-oh eee-oh
like a zippo smokes the way
hope, around
you, your lungs and your wrists
they throb like trains
choo choo choo
it's a prison of sound
a prison of sound
she, by the hair of my chinny chin chin
eee-oh eee-oh eee-oh eee-oh
like a zippo smokes the way
hope, around
you, your lungs and your wrists
they throb like trains
choo choo choo
it's a prison of sound
now look out
I took a record of pretty music
I went down and baby you can tell
I took a record of pretty music
now I'm putting it to you straight from hell
I'll stick it deep inside
I'll stick it deep inside
cause I'm loose
I feel fine to be dancin' baby
I feel fine, I'm a shakin' leaf
I feel fine to be dancin' baby
cause it's love, yeah I do believe
I'll stick it deep inside
I'll stick it deep inside
cause I'm loose
and I'll stick it deep inside
and I'll stick
well I'm loose, well I'm loose,
ah fed Vixo on ev'ry fear 'n' fret 'n' phobia
til it nor ah could stand the strain no longer
sucked a chicken bone, tossed it in the corner

It's a wild world, hey, it's a wild world, hey

Our bodies melt together, ohh, we are one
Post crucifixion baby, post crucifixion and all undone

La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, it's a wild world
Hey, it's a wild world, it's a wild one to be sure

A forward and forever backward, forever backward, forever forward, alright
Strophe and antistrophe, strophe and antistrophe, hey
Antistophe, antistrophe, ohh, c'mon baby and kiss me tonight
It's a wild world, a wild world
Up here in your arms tonight

It's a wild girl, ooh, ooh, ahh, it's a wild world, ooh, ooh, ooh
And she's a wild girl, don't push me, ooh, don't push me, ooh
Don't push me, ooh, in a wild world, ohh, ooh, ooh and don't push
My wild girl, ooh, ooh, ooh, it's a wild world, hey, aha, hey
Aha, hey, aha, hey, aha, hey, aha, hey, aha, hey
in our yard
how many chickens can we count
on our fingers and toes
on their toes
sitting on father's hole
sitting on his chest
crushing rocks of dirt
the earth is soft in our
yard yard
stones in my shoes
and feet
dragging them through museums
where
under glass
refridgerate
freeze
hands and feet
and knobbly knees
