I created this video montage of my trip to Mexico City, Mexico that took place from January 1st to January 12th 2014. Mexico City is an impressive modern city of over 20 Million people. I was really impressed by the city, it's full of ancient ruins, museums, skyscrapers, monuments, statues, parks and fountains. The Mexico City Metro, is definitely the best way to move around the city, as traffic is unbelievable. Even with 2 weeks of vacation I simply did not have enough time to visit every attraction. Paseo de la Reforma is a stunning tree lined avenue full of roundabouts and monuments. A trip to Mexico City is not complete without a visit to the Teotihuacan Archeological site. On a good note, I was never concerned for my safety or felt threatened in any way. Hey guys here is a link to the photographs in the video. I own the photos and you may download them for personal use ONLY (e.g. wallpaper) https://www.flickr.com/photos/129016060@N02/

Travel video about destination Mexico City in Mexico. Mexico City is a vivid metropolis and cosmopolitan city situated on a plateau in the central highlands at an altitude of 2, 286 metres, where the food is spicy and the Tequila flows freely! The city's fascinating history is reflected in both its art and architecture with age old charm, Indian roots and elegant buildings. Until the Spanish conquest, the Templo Mayor was the setting of coronations and human sacrifice. The remains of the walls within which thousands of priests once lived are only a few steps from the buildings of the country's former Spanish conquerors. Construction of the country's largest cathedral, the Catedral Metropolitana, took 250 years. The lower section is quite plain but the upper section is of Baroque and Neo-Classical design. Spanish administrative buildings and private houses in the heart of the city have replaced the temples of ancient Mexico and has resulted in a synthesis of both old and new architectural styles. An elevator ascends the Torre Latino America, an earthquake-proof tower that was built in 1958. A viewing platform provides a wonderful panoramic view that includes the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Juárez Monument. Located 50 kilometres from Mexico City are the ancient remains of Teotihuacan that was once a centre of trade, art and ritual ceremonies. At its zenith in 500 A.D., it was as large as Rome and its Sun Pyramid is one of the greatest building achievements of ancient times. In 1988 ,Unesco attributed this complex as being 'one of the most important cultural centres of mankind'. The author Pablo Neruda once said: 'No other land on Earth possesses such remarkable human profoundness than Mexico and its inhabitants'. For surprises, sights and history galore, Mexico has to be at the top of the list!

The filming in Mexico’s capital of parts of the latest James Bond film, “Spectre,” will provide the city with good global publicity, Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera said Thursday. At a joint press conference with Mexico’s Minister of Tourism Claudia Ruiz Massieu, the mayor boasted that Mexico City was chosen as the location for the opening scenes of the 007 film, over such cosmopolitan centers as New York and Singapore. “It will make us proud to have Mexico City form part of the opening scenes, because the whole world will see us. Everyone knows the reach James Bond has worldwide,” said Mancera, adding “it is a great showcase.” In the wake of media reports that Mexico has spent up to 14 million U.S. dollars to ensure it gets favorable publicity from its role in the feature film, Mancera said the city had no economic stake in the film, but that it was supplying locations and helping production with such logistics as rerouting traffic. According to Ruiz Massieu, the capital’s cameo in the latest Bond movie is part of the ministry’s national promotion strategy, which has in the past two years attracted more than 53 million international visitors. This isn’t the first time the city has served as a backdrop for a Hollywood movie, but it appears to be the first time the government has invested money in making sure the production captures Mexico City’s glamorous cityscapes, and not its grungy underbelly. Travel video about destination Mexico. Mexico, land of the Maya and Aztec, temples and beaches and with a population of twenty-six million the bubbling metropolis of Mexico City is a maze of streets, flat roofs, skyscrapers and parks. Earthquakes, floods and civil wars created this ‘City Of The Aztecs’. Templo Mayor, the main temple of the Aztecs, lies in the centre of the city, in the large main square, Zocalo. The magnificent Catedral Metropolitana with its massive dimensions and fine stone masonry dominates the square, with equal prominence being given to the Palacinio Nacional, governmental seat of the Mexican President. In 1519, when the Spanish conquerors reached Tenochtitlan, capital of the Aztec kingdom, they discovered a lagoon paradise with floating gardens, Xochimilco, a labyrinth of lakes and canals, which today can be explored by boat. Known as the Pearl Of The Pacific, Acapulco is a world famous holiday resort of the rich and famous where luxury liners dock each day and endless golden sands beckon a swim under the Caribbean sun. Each evening, the famous cliff jumpers of Acapulco congregate when, from a height of 42 metres, they jump fearlessly from the top of the La Quebrada Cliff into the narrow bay below. In the legendary ruins of Palenque, numerous monuments of the Maya culture can be found such as a palace, and several pyramids and temples. From the air, there is a unique view of the lush growth of the impenetrable forests around Palenque, and of Mexico’s most beautiful waterfalls of Agua Azul. Chichen Itza is thought to have been built by the Mayas around 450 AD and over 500 years later the fighting TOLTEKEN took over the deserted city, which led to two hundred years of prosperity. Located in the north, Tequila is situated at the foot of the likewise named volcano and is world famous because it is here that the Mexican national drink is produced. But Mexico is much more than a drink…it is a feast for all the senses!

Capital of the country, Mexico City has been described as the "biggest" city in the world. In reality, with over 20 million population and an area covering approximately 600 square miles it is probably one of the most densely populated. Regardless, Mexico City is truly one of the great capitals of the world. Its origin goes back to around the year 1325 when a nomad tribe of warriors called Aztecas, whose chieftain Tenoch followed the instructions of Huitzilopochtli - their tribal deity - to settle "on an island on a lake where an eagle was devouring a serpent while perched on a cactus". That settlement became Tenochtitlan - a city with over 100,000 population living among splendid temples and pyramids built with the spoils gained from the many battles fought with neighboring tribes. By the time Christopher Columbus discovered the New World, the Aztecas dominance over neighboring tribes had started its decline. Their nearby neighbors - the Tlaxcaltecas - became their bitter enemies and facilitated Cortez' march into Tenochtitlan and his eventual conquest over the Aztecas in 1521. Today's Mexico City is full of hustle and bustle. The underground Metro covers over 200 miles of routes within the city. Restaurants, museums, art galleries, fashion shops, tree lined boulevards, boutiques, taco stands, and the haute and demi mondes are present in Mexico City. Culturally, Mexico City has something to offer the most jaded visitor. The Museum of Anthropology, built in the early 60's, rivals museums around the world. Visitors can spend hours, even days, viewing the extensive collection of pre-Columbian artifacts collected from sites around Mexico. Testimonials and remnants of the works of Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Siqueiros, Tamayo and other notable painters are found throughout the city. Taking in a performance of the world-renowned Ballet Folklorico is a must for first time visitors ... and highly considered by repeat travelers. The dawn to dusk effects on the Tiffany curtain image of the Popocatepetl and Iztaccíhuatl at the Palace of Fine Arts are an impressive start to a whirlwind performance of flying colors in regional costumes, traditions and beautiful music.

The 2009 estimated population for the city proper was around 8.84 million people, and has a land area of 1,485 square kilometres (573 sq mi). According to the most recent definition agreed upon by the federal and state governments, the Mexico City metropolitan area population is 21.2 million people, making it the largest metropolitan area in the western hemisphere and the fifth largest agglomeration in the world.
Mexico (i/ˈmɛksɨkoʊ/; Spanish: México, IPA: [ˈmexiko] (
listen)), officially the United Mexican States (Spanish:
Estados Unidos Mexicanos (help·info)), is a federal constitutional republic in North America. It is bordered on the north by the United States of America; on the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; on the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and on the east by the Gulf of Mexico. Covering almost two million square kilometres (over 760,000 sq mi), Mexico is the fifth largest country in the Americas by total area and the thirteenth largest independent nation in the world. With an estimated population of over 113 million, it is the eleventh most populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking country. Mexico is a federation comprising thirty-one states and a Federal District, the capital city.
In Pre-Columbian Mexico many cultures matured into advanced civilizations such as the Olmec, the Toltec, the Teotihuacan, the Zapotec, the Maya and the Aztec before the first contact with Europeans. In 1521, Spain conquered and colonized the territory from its base in México-Tenochtitlan, which was administered as the Viceroyalty of New Spain. This territory would eventually become Mexico as the colony's independence was recognized in 1821. The post-independence period was characterized by economic instability, the Mexican-American War and territorial cession to the United States, a civil war, two empires and a domestic dictatorship. The latter led to the Mexican Revolution in 1910, which culminated with the promulgation of the 1917 Constitution and the emergence of the country's current political system. Elections held in July 2000 marked the first time that an opposition party won the presidency from the Institutional Revolutionary Party.

What's that black smoke rising Jack, is the world on fire?
What's that distant singing, is it a heavenly choir?
Of the living and the dead, the living and the dead
I think about you Jack watching the TV
And drinking booze, shame on you, shame on me
But how can we help it there was no where else to go
I sent Julie and Billy out on that long hard road
On that long hard road, on that long hard road
I'm just back from Mexico city
I came back north to Texas to rest my weary head
My true love is fresh from the battle field
Sewing up the dying and carting off the dead
My baby don't stand no fighting amongst the living or the dead
What's that black smoke rising Jack, is the world on fire?
What's that distant singing, is it a heavenly choir?
Of the living and the dead, the living and the dead
The living and the dead, the living and the dead
Que Necesitas Marijuana? Lucas? Cuetes? Banko?
Aqui Tenemos De Todo
Aqui En Mexico! (Mexican Cry)
Mexico City (City)
A Place You Can Go
And Live Your Life In The Low
Mexico City (City)
A Place Where You Can Hide
And Everything Will Be Tight
They Want Me On A Murder Rap Which Violates My Probations
Aint No Fucking Way Im Staying Here With What Im Facing
Sold My Car To A Junk Yard
And Bought A One-Way Bus Ride
Take Me Across The Border I'll Coooool Out And Hide
After 80 Wicked Hours Of Stale They Hit The Last Stop
Threw Me Out The Bus Left Me Standing There Hasta
Turned And Started Walking Tell Me What Is There To See
Everything Was All In Spanish But The Sign 'Welcome To Mexico City'
Mexico City (City)
A Place You Can Go
And Live Your Life In The Low (Ok)
Mexico City (City)
A Place Where You Can Hide
And Everything Will Be Tight (Alright)
Maybe I Can Fetch A Job, Find A Wife And Start A Family
In M-E-X-I-C-O C-I-T-Y
Maybe I Can Learn Spanish Cause Nobody Is Understanding Me
In M-E-X-I-C-O C-I-T-Y
Maybe I Can Get A Place, Settle Down And Try To Blend In
In M-E-X-I-C-O C-I-T-Y
Maybe I Can Just Relax, Be Myself And Quit Pretending
In M-E-X-I-C-O C-I-T-Y
You Can Say Harbor Bay Or South Monterey
Even Islands Off The Map Within Their Dead Sea Passageways
Dont Fucking Matter Man From Pakistan To Chuck E. Cheeses
From The Ramada In Granada I Do Far As The Equater Reaches
Virginia Beaches, Saskastun, Cancoon, The Blue Lagoon, From Desert Sanddunes Metropolis Is To The Boones
From Pueblo North Cakalaki Back To Waikiki
They Searchin High And Low For Me
But Im In Mexico City
Mexico City (City)

e senorita va, bailando va irragiungibile, come sei
