POTHOLES 4 JUNE 2015 SHAME ON KENT COUNTY COUNCIL !
Late 2013 I hit a pothole in Seabrook, Shepway, Kent where my vehicle received considerable damage so I went through my insurance company, this included a broken spring on the nearside front.
This January 2015 I hit several potholes in the Lyminge, Shepway, Kent area, one was a big bump and the second one on leaving the village, Broad Street (shows as Canterbury Road on Google maps) broke the camels back, or should I say the REPLACEMENT spring that had only been fitted less than 14 months prior. Initially the cost would not have been worth putting through my insurance company so I decided to contact the KCC who seemed happy to send out a claims form.
Since returning the form with information on the culprits and photographic evidence the story is completely different. I have been lied to and needless to say that on several occasions they have turned down my claim.
I therefore now and going to take them to task at the Small Claims Court. I am a local council tax payer, as am I a road tax payer. Kent County Council should hold their heads in shame with the states of the roads within the county, they are dangerous and a liability and there will be injuries and death claims for sure based on the ignorance and lack of duty of care. KCC and their current bodging contractors that temporarily fill holes are just making a bigger problem and hole in the counties pot!
It's time for someone to be held accountable, there clearly are people in positions that cannot do their jobs and they should be sacked for taking wages for a position that they clearly can't fill adequately, just like the potholes in Kent!
DO THEY REALLY NEED TO SEE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION BEFORE THEY ACT?
Maybe I should refrain from paying my local council tax and road tax as it is clearly being wasted on those in charge of the highway and legal departments!

Hilary explained their amazing ‘Switch’ channel shift programme – how they’re replacing their Northgate CRM & website and going live with our full Platform. During the presentation Hilary and Sharon demonstrated their ‘multi agency’ referrals process which enables NHS, GP’s, Social Housing and the County Council to all submit referrals which go directly to a Handy Person’s iPad – cutting down the time from referral to job completion from weeks to hours and cutting down on wasted journey. Now they are looking on how they can expand their Multi-agency process to tackle the cost on Public Sector services of troubled families using the Firmstep Platform.

There was huge public support for the plans. Hundreds people packed into Rutland County Museum the meeting of the Council’s development control committee was moved from the council offices because so many people had turned up.

The public were very noisy, cheers and applause and annoyance that Tory Cllr Edward Baines appeared to be scared to use a microphone so people could hear him. At one stage he advised he would adjourn the meeting if the public did not keep quiet. If he had I think there would have been a riot.
The mayor of Oakham Jayne Woodcock gave a deputation on behalf of Oakham Town Council or
should I say a party political broadcast for a town council that certainly did not bare any resemblance to the Oakham Town Council I know.
Aldi’s property director for the Athestone region Ciaran Aldridge gave deputation ahead of the debate, which lasted more than an hour, urging councillors to vote in favour of the store, which Aldi claim will create up to 40 jobs. as Aldi's rep he also said they were agreeing a £100,000 developer contribution to help improve Oakham Town Centre and then continued with a commercial for the company. He was a hit with the ladies and probably a few closeted men, but fortunate for him only a few ladies offered kisses at the end.
The Planning officers’ recommended refusal. Cllr Cross the Tory Councils clown or fool, proposed members of the public should applaud council staff for their hard work. Nothing became of that
daft proposal.
Councillors also heard that there had been hundreds of letters and e-mails of support from members of the community, as well as two petitions set up in favour of the plans both containing 1000's of signature, A couple Facebook campaigns also attracted hundreds of supporters.
Members of the development control committee decided to approve the plans with 10 members voting in favour of approving the plans and one abstention. Chair of the committee Tory Cllr Edward Baines would have liked to vote against, but instead abstained describing himself as "a coward"
What became very clear from the meeting is most of our county Councillors currently shop at
Aldi in Corby
