The Sound of Freedom
Interrogator: I don't give a shit how young you are. You throw a bomb at me, I'm going to kill you. You try to burn down my house, I'm going to kill you. You make war on my country, I'm going to kill you. You think you've got the whole of black Africa just waiting to roll on over us, eh? You try it. Just try it. We're ready for you.
Sarafina: Come on, Nelson. Why can't I be a star? What does a star do? Nothing. Look at the camera, flash! Smile at the camera, flash! Look at everybody, big eyes! Say nothing. Stars don't do, stars just be.
Preacher: They fear you because you are young. They fear you because you are the future. How fearful they must be that they shoot you children. How powerful you must be that they fear you so much. You are powerful because you are the generation that will be free. The violence, the beatings, the torture, the killings; all this is the birth pain of our free nation. Please God, may I live to see it. But if I don't, I see it now on your faces like the light of the rising sun, and my heart lifts within me, as if I, too, was young again. And I know, yes, I know freedom is coming tomorrow. May our children rest in peace. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

Known as the 'Crocodile Man', Costa Rican animal lover 'Chito' swims, plays and even feeds 'Pocho' the giant crocodile in what is one of the world's most unlikely friendships. The Man Who Swims with Crocodiles Documentary following Chito, a Costa Rican fisherman who is one of the only men ever known to tame a crocodile with people traveling from all over the country to marvel at their bond. He nursed the animal back to health after discovering him blinded by the bullet of a hunter over 20 years ago. Feeling strongly compelled to investigate these legends first hand, Roger Horrocks visits a Costa Rican shaman, "Chito" that swims with a giant croc and even rides on the back of the ancient reptile. This and many other stories confirms Roger's belief that these giant crocodiles have the ability of showing emotion and creating connections with human beings, an otherwise impossible notion in the crocodile's long history. Beautiful documentary capturing the viciously ruthless lifestyles of animals and their inevitable competition for a fundamental resource, water.

This week, I have a video sent in from Billschannel viewer Intyas Ikhsan from Indonesia! Intyas came across a video that claims to show a crocodile trainer attacked and killed by the crocodiles he cared for. But is this video real? Or is it fake? That’s what Intyas wants to know. The first thing I did was look at the video 3 or 4 times to see the basic material. On the surface it looks very authentic -- typical grainy mobile phone footage shot in the vertical position. It shows a guy in a robe walking confidently among a dozen or so crocodiles for a few moments. He’s holding a stick or something, so I am assuming he is a trainer of some type. At one point, he even holds one of the crocodiles by the tail. But a few moments later, he looks like he is on his way out of the croc enclosure and crosses over one of the crocs… that’s when the croc suddenly grabs him by the leg and the guy falls to the ground. We don’t really see what happens next because somebody steps in front of the camera recording all this… When the view is clear again, the man in the black robe is gone. Now the video goes on for another minute or two and we never see the man again. But that is what makes me suspicious about this video. It seems a little too convenient that somebody would step in front of our view just at that moment. And then a few seconds later, the dude in the robe is just gone? I don’t know about all this.. smells kinda fishy! Leaving the video, I went over to the Worldwide database for Crocodile attacks and did an advanced search on this event. I couldn’t find any mention of it. I then went to Snopes.com - but there was nothing there either Nor was there anything on “Hox or fact” or “Hoax Slayer.” I have to admit, this one had me stumped for awhile, but then it suddenly occured to me that Maybe the simple approach might be the best approach… I ran a google news search on “trainer killed by crocodile” in three languages - and suddenly, there it was… A BBC News article from Sept 2013 with still pictures that looked like they came from the video I was researching. But hey if you are thinking this is real just because the BBC says it’s real -- think again. Not long ago, I did a “real or fake” story about testicle eating fish that dozens of newspapers reported as true when it was really fake. According the article, the trainer’s name was Dicko Toki and he was a crocodile feeder at the presidential palace in a west african country called the Ivory Coast . The palace is not open to the public but the Lake where the crocs live, is a tourist attraction. At about 5 PM everyday, people pay to watch Dicko and his team feed live chickens to the waiting crocodiles. Yeah, I know it seems kinda of gross, but according to John James who wrote the report for BBC - it is not just feeding - it’s also partly a sacrifice ritual that is deeply tied to the history of the culture. This ethic group originally came from Ghana three centuries ago. They were under attack at the time, and to escape they needed to cross a river filled with crocodiles. The queen sacrificed her only child to the river god (as the legend goes), and because the god was pleased, they were all able to cross the river on the back crocodiles. And that is why the presidential palace has a lake filled with cr

Hi there! Yeah, you ^_^. Thanks for watching! We're happy to share this collection of kids songs and nursery rhymes, starting off with a super simple goodbye song, "After A While, Crocodile." Let us know what you think in the comments ^_^. In case you're wondering, here's a little bit of information about the differences between alligators and crocodiles: - Alligators have u-shaped snouts. - Crocodiles have more v-shaped snouts. - Alligators' upper teeth often show when the mouth is closed. - Crocodiles' upper and lower teeth show when the mouth is closed. - Alligators generally live in fresh water. - Crocodiles generally live in salt water or water that is brackish (has more salt than typical fresh water.) -Neither make very good pets! Here's the lyrics to "After A While, Crocodile": See you later, alligator. After a while, crocodile. Bye bye, butterfly. See you again next time. See you later, alligator. After a while, crocodile. When a mother elephant decides to take a drink from a river, she is unaware that there is danger lurking right below the surface. A huge 10 ft crocodile decides to latch its jaws onto the unsuspecting elephant's trunk. The young elephants watch helplessly as the crocodile attacks and the mother fights back. This event calls to mind a short story by the author of "The Junglebook" Rudyard Kipling titled "The Elephant's Child: How the Elephant Got His Trunk". In this story, a young elephant gets tricked by a crocodile into going too close to the water. The crocodile bites the elephant's trunk and what was once a small trunk gets stretched to its modern day length. Read Kipling's story here: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/2781/2781-h/2781-h.htm#link2H_4_0005 Is this really how the elephant got its long trunk? Next time you go out for a drink, check for crocodiles first! The Luangwa River in Zambia includes hippos, Nile crocodiles and monitor lizards among its residents. Steve witnesses a crocodile feeding frenzy.
His name is Brutus. And this massive 16.5 foot, or 5.5 meter, giant one armed crocodile is who people hope to see when they take one of the popular jumping crocodile tours on the Adelaide river in Australia's northern territory. Brutus is definitely a rarity. 70 is very old for a crocodile, Brutus, is thought to be up to 80 years old. He is also missing his front right leg, thought to have been bitten of by a shark when he was younger. And, even with just his head above the water, you can still tell it's Brutus because of his several missing teeth, another rarity, since crocodiles normally grow new teeth to replace old or lost ones. When pictures of Brutus were posted on the internet earlier this year and many thought they were photo-shopped, but tour guides like Harry Bowman attests that Brutus is very real, and, not even the largest croc on the river. At half meter longer, that honor goes to a croc nicknamed Barabas. Apparently both croc can be occasionally seen on the river though the two have been seen fighting, so the tour boats try to keep them apart. So according to Harry and contrary to rumor the massive croc Brutus and his slightly larger sparring partner Barabus, are very real. It called crocodile attacks human and it’s only 14 seconds long, but is just long enough to show an unlucky man trying to outrun a crocodile... ….but is this video real? Or is it fake? That’s what Joe wants to know. I began by looking at the video a few more times. We see the crocodile first as it swims toward something. Then the guy appears, hopping, running through the water to get away from the crocodile. But then the crocodile overtakes the man and they both disappear under the water. On the surface this thing pretty darn real to me… but what do I know? So I went out to my usual urban legends websites to see what they say about it and guess what? It was a dead end. There wasn’t a single mention of it on any of the pages. I pulled some still frames and did reverse image look up, but still couldn’t find even a mention about it. I even posted it on my Facebook to see if anyone knew anything. There were a lot of opinions but no one had ever seen this video before. Ok, see my problem with this one? This is a tough one! And when the going get’s tough here on billschannel, the tough turn to the A-team… In this case, Adam Britton, a crocodile expert and Mikey Borup who is an expert in special effects… I showed the video to Adam first -- Adam: The first time I saw it. there was something that gave it away immediately and that is the way it went after a person. A croc wouldn’t do it that way for something that big. Adam’s take is basically this: The video of the man running from the croc is actually pasted over something else that the croc is really chasing… ADAM: I think what you got is the original footage which is two crocodiles- one swimming away quite fast and the other one is chasing it. As soon as it gets close enough it whacks it on the back It’s an aggressive territorial display telling the first one get the hell out of here. this is my territory. To give me a better idea of how crocs act in territorial disputes, Adam sent me a link to this amazing video from his website. ADAM They have this ritualized combat… and so what they’ll do is swim up next to each other- sit side by and side and then use their heads like sledgehammers - when one of them has had enough he’s swim off. And when it is swimming off the other croc will swim after it and give it one last wack. The more I thought about it, the more Adam seemed to be correct in his reading of the video. it would explain what Deo Max said after he took a look at the pre-post on my Facebook… He said, it's fake because the croc didn't do the "death roll” like they normally do with big prey. Good Point -- when Crocs take down somthing big they usually grab on with their teeth and spin around violently until their prey had drowned or died. Next, I showed the footage to Mikey Borup who teaches computer effects on his Youtube channel. MIKEY: Okay so what we will do is look through the footage…. Mikey noticed a few things that made him think it might be real, like authentic wave patterns…. MIKEY - you see this and that… very hard to fake. but then Mikey noticed something else that made him think it’s a fake. MIKEY: the first thing I noticed was this — you see there is something else there… Interesting - I think I see a pattern developing here… don’t you? Both Adam and Mikey suspect the man has been inserted over something else… Ok now normally I would let my secret panel of judges make the final call, but this one - it’s so iffy - I think what we really need to do is take a vote… Adam? Fake Mikey? Fake And me… well, I’m going with another big fat… Youtube hoax…

A crocodile is any species belonging to the family Crocodylidae (sometimes classified instead as the subfamily Crocodylinae). The term can also be used more loosely to include all extant members of the order Crocodilia: i.e. the true crocodiles, the alligators and caimans (family Alligatoridae) and the gharials (family Gavialidae), as well as the Crocodylomorpha, which include prehistoric crocodile relatives and ancestors.
Member species of the family Crocodylidae are large aquatic reptiles that live throughout the tropics in Africa, Asia, the Americas and Australia. Crocodiles tend to congregate in freshwater habitats such as rivers, lakes, wetlands and sometimes in brackish water. They feed mostly on vertebrates - fish, reptiles, and mammals, and sometimes on invertebrates - molluscs and crustaceans, depending on species. They first appeared during the Eocene epoch, about 55 million years ago.
The word "crocodile" comes from the Ancient Greek κροκόδιλος (crocodilos), "lizard," used in the phrase ho krokódilos ho potamós, "the lizard of the (Nile) river".
"The Man" is a slang phrase that may refer to the government or to some other authority in a position of power. In addition to this derogatory connotation, it may also serve as a term of respect and praise.
The phrase "the Man is keeping me down" is commonly used to describe oppression. The phrase "stick it to the Man" encourages resistance to authority, and essentially means "fight back" or "resist", either openly or via sabotage.
The earliest recorded use[citation needed] of the term "the Man" in the American sense dates back to a letter written by a young Alexander Hamilton in September 1772, when he was 15. In a letter to his father James Hamilton, published in the Royal Dutch-American Gazette, he described the response of the Dutch governor of St. Croix to a hurricane that raked that island on August 31, 1772. "Our General has issued several very salutary and humane regulations and both in his publick and private measures, has shewn himself the Man." [dubious – discuss] In the Southern U.S. states, the phrase came to be applied to any man or any group in a position of authority, or to authority in the abstract. From about the 1950s the phrase was also an underworld code word for police, the warden of a prison or other law enforcement or penal authorities.
I know you're not that strong
but if you were we would've gotten along this time
I was only hanging out
Just waitin' for my wings
Just wasting time with you it seems
I know you're not already there
because if you were you wouldn't mind what i said all
the time
you were mistaken, i was misunderstood
i'd never hurt you if i could
The thing that i could never relate
is the thing that i never would trade
trying not to settle down
yeah, i'm trying all the time
Hanging on breaking ground
sounding like some other sound
if you hear this anywhere tonight
it's a liar
So late at night on your radio
at the end of the dial but too slow to mind these times
I was only hanging out, waiting for my wings
Just wasting time with you it seems
You were mistaken
Oh and I was misunderstood
I'd never hurt you if I could
is that you?
is that
is that really you?
to call between my lips
two kangaroo fingers push
through and scratch my back in rhythm
slow foot
slow fast
waiting for a night to wrap around us
i could go in there
get some sweet stuff
all these things
in me (in me)
all these things
in me (in me)
is that you?
is that
is that really you?
to hold beneath my skin
two numbers click between her touch
when you pull me down into them
rising and rising
[through the inside of a glass eye painting]
calling me in there
get that sweet stuff
all these things
in me (in me)
all these things
in me (in me)
vocoder stuff [did you walk around the stairs?]
is that you?
is that
is that really you?
to crawl between my lips
two kangaroo fingers push
through and scratch my back in rhythm
slow foot
slow fast
waiting for a night to wrap around us
i could go in there
get some sweet stuff
all these things
in me
all these things
I see you walkin' down the street
Big black clonkers on your fat old feet
You stole the pants off of Gomer Pyle
You look just like a crocodile!
You look just like a crocodile!
You look just like a crocodile!
At the high school carwash you drive into the yard
Those cheerleaders are gonna have to scrub your wheels real hard
You pull out your folding chair, its gonna take awhile
You look just like a crocodile!
You look just like a crocodile!
You look just like a crocodile!
Woah!
Woah!
Woah!
Dude what's your deal?
I've never - I've never kissed a girl with braces before
Watch it now, watch it now!
Too cold, like ice to touch.
You hold on far to much.
God knows why we’re in love.
When you throw your temper out of doors
that I cannot follow through
and yet…you grow ever near.
I promise I will not see out this night
without comforting and holding you.
Your eyes alight, they’ve never shined so bright
Crocodile
No you won't make me jealous
That she left me for him
Scene one standing
Crushed on landing
You may have walked out
But I'll swallow up my fate
Scene two sitting
Man in kitchen
Bit cold and lifeless like
The burger on my plate
But there's one emotion I'm afraid of
Hear him scratching gently to be fed
I can't stand it when he sits there smiling
I don't want him nesting in my head
Crocodile
No you won't make me jealous
That she left me for him
Get away
Crocodile
No you won't make me jealous
I'm not letting you in
Scene three lying (through his backteeth)
Speared and dying (bitten beneath)
I'll crawl the wall to hand there
Skinned and stuffed with drink
But there's one emotion I'm controlling
Green eyed monster with his jaws spread wide
(But he's your pet now
You can't run away and hide)
I can't stand it when he sits there crying
I don't want to throw myself inside
