His main theme in his books are Love of Allah(god), which made him love humanity, nature and everything good. In his burning in the flame of love he has written many poems and couplets. The Love of Allah was ignited in his heart by his spiritual teacher(Murshid/ Shaikh) Shams e Tabrizi who took Rumi as his only student(seeker/ salik) throughout his life. To this day Rumi's spiritual tradition continues known as Mevlavi Spiritual Order of Islamic Sufism( similar to Naqshbandia, Qadriya, Chistia, Soharwardia, Naqshbandiah Owaisiah spiritual orders), they are also known as whirling dervishes. Rumi's message is of Love, which people need the most in these days. There is great wisdom in his poetry and his message of Love is for all.

Mawlana declared wine that is unlawful to be lawful
ADNAN OKTAR: One day, scholars of Islamic law ask Mawlana that "is drinking wine lawful or unlawful?" knowing that Shams Tabrizi drinks wine. I am narrating this. Mawlana says "What if he drinks it? A keg of wine does not spoil the sea. Everything that is poured on salty sea is considered salt thereafter. It is permissible by Islam to drink from and perform ablution with the water of that sea. But even a drop of wine spoils a small pool. This is how anything that falls into salty sea is considered salt thereafter."In other words, he says that Shams Tabrizi is a righteous man and he could even drink a keg of wine and nothing would be wrong with it.
Mawlana goes on, "If it is Shams Tabrizi that is drinking the wine, everything is permissible for him. Because he is like the sea. But if a brother of a harlot like you is in question, even a barley bread is unlawful for him." He says "a harlot like you" to the one who asks the question. He asks you a question whether wine is unlawful or not, and you accuse him of being a harlot. He says "If it is Shams Tabrizi that is drinking the wine, he can drink it as much as he wants it is lawful for him." This is in Manaqibal-Arifin, Afaki, volume 2, page 72.Should I approve this now? I wouldn't allow such blasphemy. Wine is unlawful, it is that clear.
“Mawlana orders a job to be done. When Sheikh Muhammad Hadim says ‘Insha'Allah’,” meaning God willing. Mawlana shouts at him saying, "Who is telling you this, you fool!" He means, God is telling you this. He doesn't let that one say Insha'Allah and says, “I am already telling this to you.” It is the commandment of the Quran to say Insha'Allah. He says "You don't have to say God willing, as it is God himself that speaks through me." What does it mean? In a way, he brings the subject to him being God, may God forbid it. Should I accept this? No. Maybe he wasn't the one who said it but these words are blasphemy, they are abnormal and not permissible. This is in Mawlana Jalal ad-Din, AbdülbakiGölpınarlı, InkılapKitabevi, Istanbul 1985.
“When the kingdom of colorlessness had been captured by color, one Moses went to war against another Moses. If you arrive at the kingdom of colorlessness, you reach the kingdom where Moses and Pharaoh confront each other." He refers to Pharaoh as Moses, saying, "two Moses confront each other." How can we accept this? One is dajjal and the other is Mahdi. He says that "their meanings are the same" in other words they are the same. This is in Masnavi, Volume 1, couplet 1284. They ask for a source so here it is.

ADNAN OKTAR: When someone says "Insha'Allah" (God willing), Mawlana shouts at him saying, "Who is it that is speaking, you fool!” You don't have to say God willing, because it is God Who is telling you. What does this statement have to do with religion or faith? God commands Muslims to say "Insha'Allah" in the Quran. But Mawlana says "you don't have to say Insha'Allah as it is God Who speaks through me." In other words, he claims that he himself is God. What does it have to do with faith or religion?
Manaqib Al-Arifin, Aflaki, volume 2, page 72 reads as follows. "One day, scholars of Islamic law ask Mawlana whether it is unlawful or lawful to drink wine. Their intention is to clarify the subject of Shams Tabrizi’s drinking wine. Mawlana says, "What if he drinks wine? The sea is not spoiled when you pour a keg of wine on it. Everything that is poured on salty sea is considered salt thereafter. Wine doesn't have an effect on him when it enters into his body." In other words, he says wine becomes lawful if Shams Tabrizi drinks it. "It is permissible by Islam to drink from and perform ablution with the water of that sea. But even a drop of wine spoils a small pool. Everything that is poured on salty sea is considered salt thereafter. If it is Shams Tabrizi who drinks the wine, everything is permissible for him." As you see, it is not just wine that is permissible for him, but everything. "Because he is like the sea. But even a barley bread is considered unlawful for a dishonorable person like you." Mawlana implies that drinking wine is unlawful for the common people, but everything, including drinking wine, is lawful for him, Shams Tabrizi and his other followers. This is in Manaqib Al-Arifin, Aflaki, volume 2, page 72.
Do you think these statements have a place in Islam? They completely reject the fundamental commandments of Islam, how can we approve of this? Some people say "It is right if Mawlana says it". But Mawlana, or whoever wrote these under Mawlana's name, is replacing the commands of God. I don't necessarily say that it is Mawlana who made these statements.
Mawlana Jalal ad-Din, Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı, İnkılap Kitabevi, Istanbul 1985, page 292; "Those who had a sip from the wine of godhood with the cup of an Anal Haq passed out. Even though I drank jars and kegs of it, I didn't pass out. Even though I said 'Anal Haq', I didn't pass out." In other words he says that he didn't pass out even though he said, "I am God". "I am the sultan sought by sultans, I am the qibla of needs. I am the qibla of hearts. I am not the mosque of Friday, I am the mosque of humanity." What do all these mean when a Muslim says it? What kind of language is this? You are just another servant that submitted himself to God. You are subservient to God. You are not allowed to speak like this.
"When the kingdom without color had been captured by color, one Moses went to war against another Moses. If you arrive at the kingdom without color, you will reach the kingdom where Moses and Pharaoh confront each other. " He refers to Pharaoh as the Prophet Moses (pbuh) as well saying, "two Moses confront each other". How can we accept this? One is dajjal and the other is Mahdi. He says that their meanings are the same, in other words, they are the same. This is in Masnavi, Volume 1, couplet 1284. They ask for a source so here it is.

wn.com/Mawlana Has Many Statements That Are Unbefitting The Teachings Of The Quran

Elif Shafak was born in Strasbourg, France, in 1971. She is an award-winning novelist and the most widely read woman writer in Turkey. Critics have named her as “one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Turkish and world literature”. Her books have been translated into more than 40 languages and she was awarded the honorary distinction of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters.
Shafak has published thirteen books, nine of which are novels. She writes fiction in both Turkish and English. Shafak blends Western and Eastern traditions of storytelling, bringing out the myriad stories of women, minorities, immigrants, subcultures, youth and global souls. Her work draws on diverse cultures and literary traditions, as well as deep interest in history, philosophy, Sufism, oral culture, and cultural politics. Shafak’s writing breaks down categories, clichés, and cultural ghettoes. She also has a keen eye for black humor.
Shafak's first novel, Pinhan (The Mystic) was awarded the "Rumi Prize" in 1998, which is given to the best work in mystical literature in Turkey. Her second novel, Şehrin Aynaları (Mirrors of the City), brings together Jewish and Islamic mysticism against a historical setting in the 17th century Mediterranean. Shafak greatly increased her readership with her novel Mahrem (The Gaze), which earned her the "Best Novel-Turkish Writers' Union Prize" in 2000. Her next novel, Bit Palas (The Flea Palace), has been a bestseller in Turkey and was shortlisted for the Independent Best Fiction Award.
Shafak' wrote her next novel in English. The Saint of Incipient Insanities was published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Her second novel written in English is The Bastard of Istanbul, which was the bestselling book of 2006 in Turkey and was longlisted for the Orange prize. The novel, which tells the story of an Armenian and a Turkish family through the eyes of women, brought Shafak under prosecution but the charges were ultimately dismissed.
Following the birth of her daughter in 2006 she suffered from post-natal depression, an experience she addressed in her first autobiographical book, Black Milk. In this book Shafak explored the beauties and difficulties of being a writer and a mother. The book was received with great interest and acclaim by critics and readers alike, being an instant bestseller.
Shafak's next novel focused on Love and love – East & West, past & present, spiritual & mundane, all in the light of Rumi and Shams of Tabriz. The Forty Rules of Love sold over 750 k copies, becoming an all time best-seller in Turkey and in France awarded with the Prix ALEF - Mention Spéciale Littérature Etrangère. It is also nominated for 2012 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
Her latest novel published in English, Iskender (Honour), has topped the best-seller lists and has been acclaimed by both critics and readers of various ages and backgrounds. The novel has opened up a vivid debate in Turkey about family, love, freedom, redemption and the construct of masculinity. It is the winner of the 2013 Prix Relay des voyageurs in France; nominated for 2012 Man Asian Literary Prize, 2013 Women’s Prize for Fiction and 2014 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award.
Her most recent novel Ustam ve Ben (2013 December) revolves around the life of Mimar Sinan, the most famous Ottoman architect and opens up important debates on power, creativity, artistic freedom and bigotry.
Besides writing fiction, Shafak is an active political commentator, columnist and public speaker. She is a regular contributor to major newspapers in Turkey and has been featured in major newspapers and periodicals, including The Guardian, The New York Times, The Independent, and The World Post/Huffington Post.
