Tens of thousands of stateless people in Kuwait - known as Bidun - could be offered citizenship of the Comoros islands off Africa, an official says. The senior interior ministry official told a local newspaper that the Bidun would be given special applications for economic citizenship in the Comoros. He said those who accepted would receive residence permits in Kuwait. More than 100,000 Bidun claim Kuwaiti nationality but are considered illegal residents by the government. Kuwait: The Humanitarian State, is attempting to buy and sell the identity of its own stateless population. This is not a new program, but an old one - it has been trying to remove the identity of its stateless Kuwaiti population by assigning them foreign passports, for some years. The issue is being raised again in order to distract the media from raising awareness about a second wave of bans on schooling for stateless children, commenced in September 2014. Rather than a physical expulsion of the entire population as threatened, the program looks more like to continue to crush the identity and dignity of the population and to make it difficult for their employment conditions, some which can be characterised as slavery, from becoming more widely known about. By re-assigning the identity of the stateless the population as 'non-national' expatriate workers, they will be even more difficult to trace than they already are, having been excluded from the census. Instead they will be assumed to be expatriates but continuing without employment protections, where the government does not provide them with any state-sponsored services, but with no claims to citizenship. While individuals continue to be forced to work in conditions that for some, are tantamount to slavery: disproportionately low wages, with no contracts or other employment protections, chronic job instability and underemployment (ie in menial or meaningless jobs unrelated to educational attainment), in relationships of servitude and indebtedness and at constant risk of not being paid at all. The government, via its Ministry of the Interior, threatens to hurt the population further if it finds stateless people talking to the international media. This video is from Australia, and the information provided is based on academic research. The community has endorsed the release of the information in the wake of recent education bans and Kuwait's public relations exercise at the UNHCR - joining the 'fight against statelessness' - and at the UN - in its 30 Oct 2014 speech about its care and concern for 'human rights.' This the proposed solution to 'end statelessness': buying and selling the identity of the stateless population to a country with which they have no relationship. Some might call it human identity trafficking. The government continues to threaten the stateless population with annihilation in public, as is regularly documented by international news services as it re-installs the bans on children to prevent them from attending private schools to receive tuition that parents paid for directly.

Comoros Tours Video - Haphazardly scattered across the Indian Ocean, the mysterious, outrageous and enchanting Comoros islands are the kind of place you go to just drop off the planet for a while. Far removed from the clutter that comes with conventional paradises -- sprawling hotels, neon discos -- the Comoros are so remote even an international fugitive could hide out here. In particular, the island of Mohéli, boasting the sleepy town of Fomboni. Anjouan is the beautiful sister among the already good looking cluster of islands, it does paradise so well, it actually lives up to all the clichéd expectations any Toursler could possibly muster -- Palms, bananas and the scent of ylang-ylang and cloves borne on the breeze. Rich in Swahili culture, and devoutly Muslim, the charming inhabitants of Comoros come from a legendary stock of Arab traders, Persian sultans, African slaves and Portuguese pirates. The four developed islands offer everything from relaxing on white-sand beaches by turquoise seas to hiking through rainforests on the lookout for giant bats. Grande Comore, the largest of the islands, boasts the largest active volcano in the world, Mt Karthala, which last blew its lid in 2005, flattening villages. The aftermath, though has created a spectacular desert landscape on the mountain, and walking and trekking here is particularly good. Also on Grande Comore, timeless Moroni is oozing with old-time Arabian flair. Mayotte, is the only island of the four still a part of France, and while some love the whitest of white beaches, others find it a little too French. Nicknamed Cloud Coup-Coup land because of their crazy politics, the three independent islands (the fourth, Mayotte, is still a part of France) have experienced almost 20 coups since gaining independence in 1975! In fact, a Comorian president is lucky if theres time for his official portrait to be taken before armed men are once again knocking on the door. In the last decade, however, the quarrelsome tiff-prone independent islands agreed to put their differences aside and fly under the joint banner of the Union des Comores. Holidaying in the Comoros isnt for everyone; Tours will kick your arse at times. But it teaches lessons in patience, humility and resilience. Everything moves mora mora (slowly slowly) and Toursism facilities are far from plush. Islam, and all its traditions, is evident everywhere. Women are expected to show modesty and cover up, and alcohol is a no-no for both sexes. But if your idea of the perfect holiday is less about drinking rum punch in a skimpy bikini at a swank resort, and more about long, lazy days sipping tea and talking politics with the locals, then a safari in the exotic Comoros will probably be the kind of unpredictable, swashbuckling adventure youve been craving. In 1841, it was simply a plan of 20 streets on the 256 hectares (640 acres) of south central America, claimed by a Tennessee lawyer, John Neely Bryan. Today, it is the ninth largest city in the USA, and including its western neighbour of Fort Worth, it is the nation's fastest growing metropolitan area. Thriving at the bottom edge of America's Great Plains, Dallas has embraced dreamers and entrepreneurs for the better part of two centuries. Big D, as it's affectionately called, merges Southern hospitality with modern sophistication. Though the landscape looks different than at its humble beginning, the city still welcomes enterprising people who gather to share their grand ideas and stake claims on new frontiers. Dallas will always be remembered for one, if not two, shootings. The first and most shocking occurred on 22 November 1963, when President J F Kennedy was assassinated in downtown Dallas. The second shooting may only have been fictional but, when J R Ewing was shot by an unknown killer in the TV series Dallas in the early 1980s, fans across the world were devastated. Even today, the legend of J R remains strong, as does the legacy of President Kennedy. Today the city is a mecca for the banking, electronics and oil industries, as well as for dining, shopping, arts and entertainment. Large scale developments of urban lofts, apartments, condominiums, retail and both indoor and outdoor recreational facilities are springing up across the city. An impressive new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts opened in 2009 to vie with New York's Lincoln Center. New facilities and relevant attractions in and around this cultural centre continue to grow. Among things you probably didn't know about Dallas: The city has the largest urban arts district in the United States spanning 19 blocks. What's more, the Dallas Arts District has more buildings designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects in one contiguous location than anywhere else in the world. And Dallas' Fair Park, just a short distance east of the arts district and a district with numerous museums and venues, features the nation's largest collection of 1930s Art Deco, exposition-style architecture. Dallas offers true Southern hospitality, be it in a humble hideaway cocktail bar or in the Mansion on Turtle Creek, repeatedly and regularly ranked as one of the world's top hotels. And with a 10th of its workforce in the hospitality industry, Dallas is always happy to have y'all come on in and stick around awhile. Those wishing to explore further afield should take the busy freeway 30 miles to the west to the easy-going, cattle-driving, twin city of Fort Worth, home to a national historic district and a surprising stash of world-class art museums. Comoros Islands Travel - The Comoros officially the Union of the Comoros (Comorian: Udzima wa Komori, French: Union des Comores, Arabic: الاتحاد القمري al-Ittiḥād al-Qumurī/Qamarī) is an archipelago island nation in the Indian Ocean, located off the eastern coast of Africa, on the northern end of the Mozambique Channel, between northeastern Mozambique and northwestern Madagascar. Other countries near to the Comoros are Tanzania to the northwest and the Seychelles to the northeast. The capital is Moroni on Grande Comore. At 1,862 km2 (719 sq mi) (excluding Mayotte),[3] the Comoros is the third-smallest African nation by area. With a population estimated at 798,000 (excluding Mayotte), it is the sixth-smallest African nation by population—although it has one of the highest population densities in Africa. Its name derives from the Arabic word القمر qamar (moon).[4] The archipelago is notable for its diverse culture and history, as a nation formed at the crossroads of many civilizations. Though in the contested island of Mayotte the sole official language is French, the Union of the Comoros has three official languages: Comorian (Shikomor), Arabic and French. Moroni with Harbor Bay and Central Mosque, Capital of the Comoros The country officially consists of the four islands in the volcanic Comoros archipelago: northwestermost Grande Comore or Ngazidja, Mohéli or Mwali, Anjouan or Nzwani, and southeastermost Mayotte or Maore, as well as many smaller islands. However, the government of the Union of the Comoros (or its predecessors, since independence) has never administered the island of Mayotte, which France administers as an overseas collectivity. Mayotte was the only island in the archipelago that voted against independence from France in 1974; the latter has vetoed United Nations Security Council resolutions that would affirm Comorian sovereignty over the island.[5][6][7][8] In addition, a 29 March 2009 referendum on Mayottes becoming an overseas department of France in 2011 was passed overwhelmingly by the people of Mayotte. The Union of the Comoros is the only state to be a member of all of the following: African Union, Francophonie, Organisation of the Islamic Conference, Arab League and Indian Ocean Commission. The country has had a history marked by numerous coups détat since independence in 1975.
