Travel video about destination South East Asia. South East Asia is a fascinating, atmospheric and exotic world full of unspoiled nature and cultural treasures and a region in which both past and present live side by side and unite in a wonderful way. Myanmar, The Land Of Golden Pagodas: for decades the rulers of what was once known as Burma closed the country’s doors to the outside world and many of its fine religious sanctuaries were badly neglected but they have now gradually been given the respect that they deserve. Inlay Lake is home to the Inthas, one of the many tribes that came to Myanmar from various of South East Asia’s neighbouring countries. Throughout the area are the floating plantations of the Inthas on which tomatoes, cucumbers and beans are cultivated. A journey on the Shan State Express provides passengers with a fascinating insight into the life of the Shan people whose lives are dominated by agriculture. The north west of Myanmar is known for its many splendid sacred buildings such as Mingun’s Hsinbyume Pagoda that was built at the beginning of the nineteenth century. It was constructed according to the architectural rules of Hindu Buddhist cosmology and symbolizes the World Mountain of Meru.. One of Taiwan’s most important centres of arts and crafts is located in the west of the island, Lukang, an ancient and idyllic town full of age-old traditions whose large number of beautiful temples is most impressive. In Cambodia and around forty kilometres north of Phnom Penh is the former capital city of Udong. Today only the remains of the city’s former splendid buildings indicate that it was the last centre of Angkor’s power with hundreds of dwellings and temples. The ruins of Ayutthaya indicate the impressive dimensions of the former capital of ancient Thailand and one of the mightiest royal cities in South East Asia.
Since the nineteenth century, Western gardeners have harboured a stereotype image of the perfect exotic garden and Monty visits the pre-eminent of these - the mysterious Jim Thompson's Garden in Bangkok. He then pushes on to Singapore, 'a City in a Garden', before finally touching down in the lush and sensuous island of Bali, where what he learns about South-East Asian gardens surprises him.

WATCH IN 1080P!! This is the edit of our 4 month backpacking trip around South East Asia. We flew into Bangkok, Thailand, and then headed north to Chaing Mai. From there we went into Laos, then Vietnam and on to Cambodia. Our next stop was the Thai islands ( Koh phangan, Samui, Phi Phi & Tao) before heading to Malaysia and finally Singapore. This video does really not do it justice, some of the best moments weren't on camera! If anyone is considering going out there i would highly recommend it as soon as possible!!

noodls 2015-03-20East Asia or Eastern Asia (the latter form preferred by the United Nations) is a subregion of Asia that can be defined in either geographical or cultural terms. Geographically and geo-politically, it covers about 12,000,000 km2 (4,600,000 sq mi), or about 28 percent of the Asian continent, about 15 percent bigger than the area of Europe.
More than 1.5 billion people, about 38% of the population of Asia or 22% of all the people in the world, live in geographic East Asia, about twice Europe's population. The region is one of the world's most populated places, with a population density of 133 inhabitants per square kilometre (340 /sq mi), being about three times the world average of 45 /km2 (120 /sq mi), although Mongolia has the lowest population density of a sovereign state. Using the UN subregion definitions, it ranks second in population only to Southern Asia.
Historically, many societies in East Asia have been part of the Chinese cultural sphere, and East Asian vocabulary and scripts are often derived from Classical Chinese and Chinese script. Sometimes Northeast Asia is used to denote Japan and Korea. Major religions include Buddhism (mostly Mahayana), Confucianism or Neo-Confucianism, Taoism, Chinese folk religion in China, Shinto in Japan, Shamanism in Korea, Mongolia and other indigenous populations of northern East Asia, and recently Christianity in South Korea. The Chinese Calendar is the root from which many other East Asian calendars are derived.
You were broken inside but you're no fool
You keep wearing that smile 'cuz you're so cool
You're just pretending life is so good
And you remind me of someone I once used to be
You broke the fantasy world
But since you're well
The future knocks on your door
Every night we're there
The kingdom is changing
But the king will survive
And you remind me of someone I once used to be
Me of someone I once used to be
Me of someone I once used to be
And he reminds me of someone I once used to be
You were broken inside
But you're no fool
And you remind me

And you remind me of someone I once
