Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News In 2001, Argentina faced a devastating economic crisis that led to widespread unemployment and left more than 50 percent of the country living below the poverty line. Amid the devastation, a cheap and enormously addictive drug called paco — a variation of crack made from cocaine residue, baking soda, and sometimes even crushed glass and rat poison — started to take hold, especially among young people in urban barrios. Today, 13 years after the crisis, Argentina's economy is once again in trouble, and the widespread abuse of paco continues. VICE News traveled to Argentina and talked to paco manufactures and users, along with activists and government authorities, to find out why so little has been done to curb the problem, and whether a new wave of addicts is about to emerge. The Presidents of China and Argentina are pledging stronger diplomatic ties. The committment comes amid a visit to Beijing by Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez. Fernandez has sat-down for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, with both leaders overseeing the signing of a dozen deals in areas including trade, space technology, nuclear energy and defense. Chinese President Xi Jinping contends infrastructure construction is a key area of bilateral interest. "Both sides are committed to strengthening our cooperation in various fields, especially our cooperation on basic infrastructure development, including the major projects like the Belgrano Cargas railway and Nestor Kirchner hydropower station. We also hope to promote the sound and stable development of bilateral trade." For her part, Christina Fernandez says the infrastructure agreements are part of a broader-based strategy for her country's ties with China. "We decided that this integration should take a qualitative step forward in an integration that will include investment in infrastructure, such as the decision to build and fund the Nestor Kirchner and Jorge Cepernic dams, as well as the Belgrano Cargas, which have been two key projects that have triggered this comprehensive and strategic alliance." The Argentinian president is on a three-day visit to China. ***[Photo & Video Credits: CFKArgentina, Chinanews, Xinhua] 2015-02-05. http://www.undergroundworldnews.com The U.K. has sent extra military support to one of its overseas colonies at the bottom of the world, the Falkland Islands, amid concerns that it is facing increased risk of attack from Argentina, backed by Russia. Two troop-carrying Chinook helicopters and a new surface-to-air missile system have been sent by the U.K. to the remote islands in the South Atlantic, known as Las Malvinas in Argentina . They were the subject of a short-lived war between the U.K. and Argentina in 1982, and lie to the east of Argentina, 8,000 miles away from Britain . http://finance.yahoo.com/news/falkland-islands-fears-russia-backed-140531097.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc;_trk=tw

As Russia’s economic woes are increasing rapidly, it’s facing a pretty severe problem – but that doesn’t seem to be too big of an issue now that Russia is using its relationship with Argentina to get beef and wheat in exchange for Russian fighter jets. Argentina is currently challenging British claims made towards the Falkland Islands – British territory since the 1830s, and in a March 2014 referendum, it seemed that 1513/3 wanted it to say that way. A pretty ovewhelming number, but that isn’t deterring Argentina’s bid towards bilateral talks about sovereignity – which Russia supports. The jets the Russians sent to Argentina may be used for air patrols over Port Stanley, the Falkland’s capital – which is relatively unprotected, save but 4 Royal Air Force jets, anti-aircraft, artillery batteries, and 1,500 troops. Russia’s contract with Argentina is leasing them a dozen Su-24 all-weather fighter jets. Not until 2020, when the UK plans to send F-35Bs and its own 65-ton “HMS Queen Elizabeth” aircraft carrier, would this be significantly changed. Argentina, despite British claims, has said that the Falklands should be a part of Argentina, instead, due to their procimity. Thatcher enforced British control in the 80s, when Buenos Aires tried to put their will to force. The UK, according to its laws, has the right: "to protect UK interests and to ensure the overall good governance of the territory.” Russia has been cozying up to Argentina, and South America in general for several years now – logically, of course. While the West bloc, for all intents and purposes, stands as one amalgamous beast of Western Europe, America, Japan, South Korea and portions of South East Asia, the rest of the world bar Africa and much of the Middle East has been trying to form alternate power structures – such as the often complained about, and critizied BRICS institution. While not nearly as coordinated and unified as NATO and the transatlantic in general, they’re sort of trying to even the playing field. - See more at: http://www.datsyn.com/article/3480/2015/01/02/Russia-aiding-Argentina-as-latter-gets-into-UK-territorial-spat#sthash.mTodSsiv.dpuf

The US has the highest incarceration rate in the world. For the more Machiavellian minded business people, this creates an opportunity. This month, the Center for Public Integrity reported that under contracts awarded 15 years ago by the Treasury Department, Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase have exclusive access to the banking needs of over 214,000 federal inmates. Erin weighs in. Then, Erin sits down with Dr. Ann Pettifor – fellow at the New Economics Foundation and author of "Just Money: How Society Can Break the Despotic Power of Finance” – to discuss Europe and Argentina. Ann tells us what she believes is the biggest dilemma for Europe and suggests how Argentina should deal with the debt holdouts like NML Capital. After the break, Edward Harrison talks to Aswath Damodaran – professor of economics at the Stern School of Business at NYU – to learn about corporate finance. Aswath goes over the four specific categories of what he calls a “walking dead company” and gives us his take on the recent Hewlett Packard split. A Cook Abroad Episode :3 John Torode's Argentina BBC Documentary 2015 MasterChef judge and meat connoisseur John Torode fulfils a lifelong ambition to go to Argentina, where eating beef is a national obsession. After savouring the street food from the barbecues or 'asados' in Buenos Aires, John embarks on an epic road trip that takes him across the vast pastures of the Pampas to Mendoza, in the foothills of the Andes. His mission - to find the best piece of steak in the world and the best way to cook it. Along the way, John discovers that modern industrial farming has changed the landscape of the legendary Pampas and threatened a way of life unchanged for centuries. In order to learn the traditional ways of rearing cattle, he goes native with the gauchos on a working estancia and experiences one of the most authentic barbecues he's ever had. Back on the road, when John stops at a truckers' cafe to have lunch, he has an epiphany. He grasps the secret of cooking with fire. His final destination is a fabled restaurant in Mendoza, where cooking beef has become an art form. It's here, among the restaurant's seven fires, that John learns his final lesson.

At Expo Milano 2015, food is (also) culture. Art, architecture and photography interpret the theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", bringing different ideas together into a sole intent: show how food favors relations among peoples. It will be amazing to see how great architects give life to the theme of food in fascinating, sustainable works. It will be thrilling to see how master filmmakers and world famous photographers tell their stories of peoples, foods and cultures. And if the eyes are not yet sated with beauty, there is "Arts & Foods": a journey through the past and present entwining the surprising world of art with the vital theme of food. Expo Milano 2015. From 1 May to 31 October.
Here are 10 Celebrities with Mexican Roots. Many aspects of American culture, be they related to food, arts, or celebrations, have sprung from Mexican roots. As it turns out, a lot of celebrities have too. Here are 10 of them. Number 10. Fergie. The Black Eyed Pea's great grandmother on her father's side is from Guanajuato. According to the singer, that's where her fire comes from. Number 9. Nicole Richie. Lionel Richie's been her dad since she was 3, but the fashion designer's biological father is of Mexican descent. At birth, she was known as Nicole Camille Escovedo. Number 8. Jessica Alba. The Mexican roots of the actresses' family tree spread back a couple of generations, but they do reach there. Her father and his parents were born in California, but his ancestry is Mexican-American. Number 7. Louis C.K. The celebrated comedian wasn't born in Mexico, but did spend his younger days in the country, as that's where his father was born and that side of his family lives. Even though he returned to the US, he retained his Mexican citizenship. Number 6. Uma Thurman. Her mother was born in Mexico city in 1941. Number 5. Taboo. Fergie isn't the only Black Eyed Pea who is of Mexican stock. Taboo's real name is Jaime Luis Gomez, and his father is from Morelia. Number 4. Kat Von D. The former Wonder Woman and current Arizona resident is half Mexican and speaks Spanish. Number 2. Alexis Bledel. Many will always remember her as Rory Gilmore, the descendent of uptight, blue blood Easterners, but sees herself as a Latina. She was born in Texas to a Mexican mother and an Argentine father. Spanish is her first language. Number 1. Mitt Romney. His great grandfather fled to Mexico in 1885 in an attempt to dodge US anti-polygamy laws. Romney's grandfather grew up there and his father was born there, but both returned to the US when the Mexican Revolution started to heat up. Romney however, does not consider himself Mexican-American.

Jewish people from across Europe and Russia have been immigrating to Argentina for hundreds of years. They brought with them dance music that was eventually mixed with Argentine tango. The result is Yiddish tango -- a fusion of melodies and cultural experiences that is still evolving today. Elizabeth Lee reports from the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, where one band is bringing Yiddish tango to an American audience. Discovering our roots - British council project.
Forget the rose-in-the-mouth cliché, and discover how tango relates to art, activism, and even therapy. We will analyze films, advertising, theater, poetry, art, documentaries, material culture, digital art forms, and public protests to examine the production, consumption, and diffusion of meaning found in global cultural narratives related to Argentine tango. Students will learn how tango was used to champion women's rights and modernization in Turkey in the early 20th century, and how Jewish prisoners used it as a symbol of life and endurance during WW II. Participants will explore how tango has merged with Eastern practices and beliefs such as martial arts and Taoism. One session will focus on the dance itself, including a demonstration and lesson. You’ve heard of “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen,” right? It has never rung truer than when you’re watching “A Fuego Maximo”—translation: "Maximum Fire" (You’ll understand why momentarily)—one Argentinian woman’s topless cooking channel on YouTube, which has already garnered over half a million views since its March 10th inception. The chef whom has Julia Child rolling over in her grave is a 24-year-old named Jenn, who likes to wear skimpy underwear and is skilled at censoring her body with strategically placed food. Jenn’s videos (three as of now) include easy recipes like guacamole and salad, so don’t worry about her getting an oil burn. The topless chef said that she started the videos in order to encourage men to cook. Call us crazy, but we're thinking cooking is the last thing on their minds. A short visit to Buenos Aires:)
Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary, Health and Adoption Shelter in Largo di Torre Argentina, Rome.
Tens of thousands of health professionals of the public sector staged a nationwide strike to protest against what they called meager salaries. They demanded the national government a salary raise to catch up with the skyrocketing inflation rates. The government has just presented the annual budget to the Parliament earlier this week. The bill has been fiercely criticized by most of the national unions. According to them, the administration of President Cristina Kirchner is favoring the multinational corporations at the expense of workers’ welfare. Due to the deep crisis Argentina is going through, the government was forced to tighten its budget. The workers, however, claim the economic situation is becoming tough. In the past six months, state workers staged several walkouts and demonstrated against the austerity plans. More demonstrations like this one are being held across the country. The government claims it’s taking the necessary measures to address the workers’ demands, and thus this strike is meaningless. Buenos Aires argues that such walkouts will have a direct impact on treatments of thousands of patients. French Sports Stars DIE in Argentina Helicopter Crash Three French sports personalities die in Argentina helicopter crash For more Latest and Breaking News Headlines SUBSCRIBE to https://www.youtube.com/user/24X7BreakingNEWS Three French sports personalities are among 10 people killed in a helicopter crash in Argentina, the French presidential office confirms. Eight French nationals and their two Argentine pilots all died when two helicopters collided in La Rioja province in the country's north-west. Yachtswoman Florence Arthaud, Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat and Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine all died. The helicopters were involved in the filming of TV survival show Dropped. "The sudden death of our fellow French nationals is a cause of immense sadness," said a statement from French President Francois Hollande. They crashed near Villa Castelli, about 1,170km (720 miles) from Buenos Aires, according to local officials. The helicopters were filming Dropped, a popular celebrity show on the channel TF1. The show flies celebrities into rough terrains by helicopter and films their attempts to find food and shelter. One of the contestants, former France and Arsenal footballer Sylvain Wiltord, tweeted: "I'm sad for my friends, I'm trembling, I'm horrified, I have no words, I don't want to say anything." Another cast member, figure skater Philippe Candeloro, was said to be "extremely shocked but unharmed". The cause of the crash is unclear. Officials have said the weather conditions in the mountainous area where the helicopters went down were good. "An explosion occurred and it's believed that they must have collided,'' said La Rioja Secretary of Security Cesar Angulo. "Aeronautical experts will have to determine that," he added. "We learn with great sadness about the accident during the filming of the Dropped show," said a statement issued by TF1. "All TF1 teams come together in this terrible time with the pain of the families and relatives of the victims." TF1 says the show will be postponed and the rest of the crew is returning home. France has sent a team of experts and technicians to assist with the investigation into Monday's helicopter crash that killed ten people, including three sports stars in northwestern Argentina. The cast and crew of 'Dropped', a reality show by French channel TF1, boarded two Eurocopter helicopters in the region of La Rioja, Argentina. Local media reported that swimmer Alain Bernard got out of one of the helicopters at the last minute to avoid overloading. Other contestants, blindfolded, were standing on the ground several hundred metres away when the crash occurred. The choppers were flying very close to each other when their rotors clipped, sending both aircraft crashing to the ground, video footage shows. The helicopters exploded after hitting the ground. Contestants rushed to the site of the crash but were unable to put out the fire. No one survived the crash. Argentine authorities said it was too early to determine the cause of the fatal accident. The crash killed champion sailor Florence Arthaud, Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat and Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine. The others victims were members of the production crew working for Adventure Line Productions, the company behind the survival reality show. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoWorld, where we animate the biggest headlines from around the world. Travel video about destination Argentina. Argentina is the second largest country in South America and a captivating land of tango, adventure and breathtaking nature.Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and the most European city in South America with buildings that are reminiscent of bygone times. The mighty Plaza De Mayo is the historic heart of the city, along with the presidential palace, the Casa Rosada and the Catedral Metropolitana. Today the tango is performed in each corner of the city and in the nineteenth century poor immigrants from Italy and Spain settled in Buenos Aires. This explains the fiery temperament and deep melancholy that is expressed by the dances and is evident with each flick of the leg. In what was once the red light district with its whore houses of colourful corrugated iron taken from numerous ship wrecks, the tango was born. We visit an estanzia, a feudal residence of the beef barons who once settled on the endless plains of the pampas and who built their farmhouses according to the rustic designs of the nobility. From Salta Station we begin a fascinating train journey on the Tren A Las Nubes, the “train into the clouds",.which will climb to more than three thousand metres above sea level along one of the highest railroads in the world. The Los Glaciares National Park is a mixture of lakes, glaciers, mountains and untouched wilderness yet despite the harsh climate the local vegetation captivates due to its diversity. Our journey comes to an end. From north to south, through cities and pampas to glaciers and mountains, Argentina is a dream destination come true!

Travel video about destination Buenos Aires in Argentina. Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, is said to be the most European city in South America with buildings that are reminiscent of bygone times, with melancholy, romance and Latin flair is a part of daily life as well as a passion for steak, tango and football! The mighty Plaza de Mayo is the historic heart of the city and the pink façade of the Casa Rosada shines brightly, the Presidential palace from where Domingo Perón and his wife, Evita, once waved to their loyal subjects. The La Boca district is the old harbor area and lies at the mouth of the Riachuelo in the Rio de la Plata. The bright colors of the painted buildings are a joy to see and where today, dances are performed on every street corner. Everywhere traders have erected stalls and tango musicians, pantomime artists, ice cream sellers and various artisans hope for a profitable day. In what was once the red light district with its whore houses of colorful corrugated iron taken from numerous ship wrecks, the tango was born. When visiting an Estancia, a gaucho show is a must. Cowboys live with their horses, a fact made obvious by way of acrobatic performances. Tango, the true pulse of the city, erotic, melancholic and full of life. A dramatic adventure. But beware. When night falls, this Buenos Aires Diva turns into a City Fatale. Mysterious, dark and full of burning desire. An extraordinary metropolis of the superlative!
http://www.expedia.com/Buenos-Aires.d178242.Destination-Travel-Guides Named for good sailing winds, Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina, and home to nearly a quarter of the country’s two million residents. Come for the stunning European architecture, and stay for delicious cuts of meat, the city’s zest for soccer, and, of course, the tango. “The Paris of South America” boasts outstanding shopping and a friendly populace. A tour of Buenos Aires should cut through La Boca Harbor, where you’ll find numerous street vendors, restaurants, and street dancers willing to give you a spin. Wander down the streets to take in colorful artwork, and make a game out of asking the locals what neighborhood you should tour next. Here’s a hint: with so much to see, everyone will give you a different answer! Some will tell you to visit San Telmo for souvenirs, patio shopping, and crumbling historical buildings. Others will suggest Puerto Madero, a refurbished shipping port that boasts a mixture of old-world glamour and modern buildings. What everyone will suggest, however, is a stop by Plaza de Mayo. There you can take in the rosy architecture of the Casa Rosada, which was made famous by Argentine First Lady Eva Peron and the musical about her life, “Evita.” Take a tour and learn about her life, from her humble beginnings to her rise to power. Cap off your Buenos Aires sightseeing with an evening walk through Puerto Madero, where you can get a late dinner and dance until the next day arrives. What do you want to see in Buenos Aires? http://www.expedia.com/Iguazu.d6126331.Destination-Travel-Guides Iguazu Falls is located at the junction of three nations: Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. These “Great Waters,” as named by the indigenous Guarani people, are made up of 275 waterfalls that span nearly 2 miles. Sorry, Niagara! Any Iguazu Falls tour will provide you with a sense of nature’s power and wonder. You can follow a boardwalk trail and take in the majestic, roaring falls from a safe vantage point…or, if you feel daring, a platform above the falls. Look down, but hang on to the railing—that’s a lot of water pouring beneath you. Don’t mind getting wet? Take a speedboat safari beneath the falls and enjoy the spray. Prefer to stay dry? A helicopter ride over the falls might be for you. From up high, the falls form a tremendous chasm in the surface of the earth, further solidifying the fact that this area is one of nature’s great wonders. Surrounding the Falls are the two Iguazu National Parks, one located in Brazil, the other in Argentina. The parks are home to beautiful rainforest full of exotic creatures, like wild cats, reptiles, and 400 species of birds and butterflies. Take a tour of Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires, Argentina - part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats. The office of the president of the United States is known for its whitewashed exterior, much as Argentina's is known for its rosy walls. The Casa Rosada, meaning Pink House, in Buenos Aires, is the beautiful presidential palace of this country. Designed in the Italian style, this magnificent building was constructed between 1882 and 1898 on the site of an old fort. Because of its fame as a national monument, there is a museum here of items belonging to and associated with Argentina's presidents. The official office chair of the president is named after and represents Argentina's first president. The impetus for the Pink House began when a former President felt that the state house was being overshadowed by the adjacent grand post office building.
Bariloche, Argentina Tours (HD), Bariloche, Argentina Vacation Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube San Carlos de Bariloche, usually known as Bariloche, is a city in the province of Río Negro, Argentina, situated in the foothills of the Andes on the southern shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake. It is located within the Nahuel Huapi National Park. After development of extensive public works and Alpine-styled architecture, the city emerged in the 1930s and 1940s as a major tourism centre with ski, trekking and mountaineering facilities. In addition, it has numerous restaurants, cafés, and chocolate shops. The city has a permanent population of 108,205 according to the 2010 census. Tourism Bariloche, Argentina ================== Tourism, both domestic and international, is the main economic activity of Bariloche, all year around. While popular among Europeans, the city is also very popular among Brazilians. One of the most popular activities is skiing. Most tourists visit Bariloche in its winter (summer for North Americans and Europeans). Regular flights from Buenos Aires with LAN airlines and Aerolíneas Argentinas serve the city. The main ski station is the one at Cerro Catedral. During the summer, beautiful beaches such as Playa Bonita and Villa Tacul welcome sun-bathers; brave lake swimmers venture into its cold waters (chilled by melting snow.) Lake Nahuel Huapi averages 14 °C in the summertime). The fishing season is another great attraction. Bariloche is the biggest city of a huge Lakes District, and serves as a base for many excursions in the region. Trekking in the mountains, almost completely wild and uninhabited with the exception of a few high-mountain huts operated by Club Andino Bariloche, is also a popular activity. The city is noted for its chocolates and Swiss-style architecture.

And MALBA is one of its rising stars. MALBA, or El Museo de Arte Latin Americano en Buenos Aires, contains a Costantini Colección. It is one of the newest museums in Buenos Aires, opened in 2001. "The collection has a selection of around three hundred works from Latin American art of the 20th century and also of the 21st century. Artists from different countries especially from Argentina, from Brazil, Mexico, Chile. Some of the Artists' creative works were quite controversial at the time. One of the highlights the museum has is the work of Fernando Botero, the Columbian Artist. "The Widowers" it presents a portrait of a family, a bushwa family. This is the only work of Frida Kahlo that people ought to see in a permanent collection in Argentina. It is a self-portrait of Frida made in 1942 and it is a portrait that presents some of the usual elements that are used in her works. For example, her connections to the ideas of motherhood, the traditions of Mexico, the popular culture. This work called "Demonstration" was painted by Antonio Berni. In this case he presents this image that is quite influenced by mural painting in a way to try to depict the movement, this proactive movement that the population of Argentina was experiencing at that time. This is the work of Candido Portinari, and artist from Brazil. He also decided to present the social and also the political reality of his country in the 30's. The work that was presented a few years ago in a really controversial exhibition that was presented here in Buenos Aires. The tenor of the work is the Christian and Western Civilization and it is a work that criticize some of the platforms and main concepts that stand up all the Western society. It is also a place where we present other types of activities. Cinemas has a very important place here. We exhibit a lot of films from young directors and we also restore and preserve some old classics. Literature has an important place within conferences, book presentations and also the educational programs here are dedicated to a variety of public, not just kids but also adults, seniors, people that have special needs." What do we need to know about the museum that we have not learnt yet?" "That Tuesday is closed. And if you are a student and you present your ID you have free admission and also Wednesday is free for everyone." Wednesdays are free! Great! I am Ande Wanderer showing you Buenos Aires.
World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Buenos Aires - Argentina Travel Guide http://bit.ly/17JbKIz Buenos Aires - Argentina Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation Buenos Aires travel guide The romance of crumbly European architecture and cobbled streets makes Buenos Aires an alluring city, but it is the food that wins most hearts. While pavements are peppered with potholes, no one seems to understand when a Subte (underground train) carriage is full and tourists regularly find themselves in possession of fake bank notes, the slabs of steak, scoops of dulce de leche and oodles of smooth red wine never fail to impress. Daytimes in Buenos Aires can be filled with many pleasant activities -- from basking in leafy parks to browsing art galleries -- but it is at night that the city is in its element. Come 2100, parrillas (grill restaurants) fill up rapidly, with hungry tables enjoying a variety of animal parts charred to perfection. New bars open weekly -- the San Telmo and Palermo neighbourhoods are particular hotspots -- and many milongas (tango halls) and dance clubs are still thriving at sunrise. ============================ Buenos Aires Videos, Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Tourism, Buenos Aires Travel Guide, Buenos Aires Vacation, Buenos Aires tours, Buenos Aires Attractions, Buenos Aires Restaurants, Buenos Aires Shopping, Buenos Aires Transport, Buenos Aires Museums, Argentina, Argentina Travel Guide, Argentina Tourism, Argentina Vacation, United States of America

Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina - Ushuaia Tourism Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube Ushuaia is the capital of Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur Province, Argentina. It is commonly regarded as the southernmost city in the world (a title long disputed by smaller Puerto Williams). Ushuaia is located in a wide bay on the southern coast of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, bounded on the north by the Martial mountain range and on the south by the Beagle Channel. It is the only municipality in the Department of Ushuaia, which has an area of 9,390 km2 (3,625 sq mi). Tourism ============= Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, located in Ushuaia Tourist attractions include the Tierra del Fuego National Park and Lapataia Bay. The park can be reached by highway, or via the End of the World Train (Tren del Fin del Mundo) from Ushuaia. The city has a museum of Yámana, English, and Argentine settlement, including its years as a prison colony. Wildlife attractions include local birds, penguins, seals, and orcas, many of these species colonizing islands in the Beagle Channel. There are daily bus and boat tours to Harberton, the Bridges family compound. Tours also visit the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. Les Eclaireurs is sometimes confused with the "Lighthouse at the End of the World" (Faro del fin del mundo) made famous by Jules Verne in the novel of the same name; but the latter lies some 200 mi (320 km) east of Ushuaia on Isla de los Estados (Staten Island). Manufacturing ============ Ushuaia's industrial sector, led by the Grundig Renacer electronics factory, is among the largest in Patagonia. Arts and culture ================= Since 2007 Ushuaia has hosted the Bienal de Arte Contemporáneo del Fin del Mundo (Bienniel of Contemporary Art at the End of the World), created and organized by the Patagonia Arte & Desafío Foundation under the rubric "South Pole of the Arts, Sciences, and Ecology". The Bienal has gathered over one hundred artists from five continents addressing the motto "think at the End of the World that another world is possible". As a pedagogical project it encourages students at all levels to "think about a better world". Sea ===== In addition to being a vacation destination for local and international tourists, Ushuaia is also the key access point to the Southern Ocean, including subantarctic islands such as South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands and Antarctic islands such as the South Orkney Islands and the South Shetland Islands. Its commercial pier is the major port of departure in the world for tourist and scientific expeditions to the Antarctic Peninsula.[citation needed] Cruise ships visiting the Falkland Islands (referred to by Argentinians as Islas Malvinas) and Antarctica dock at the port, as well as Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, and Celebrity Cruises, which transit between Valparaíso, Chile, to Buenos Aires and beyond. Antarpply Expeditions, Global Maritime, Hurtigruten, Lindblad Expeditions, Orient Lines, Quark Expeditions, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and other passenger and freight lines provide regularly scheduled services between Ushuaia and all local seaports and settlements. Australis Cruises provides regular service between Ushuaia and Punta Arenas from September to April. Tourists can also visit Cape Horn (in Chilean waters) by boat or helicopter.
Argentina is one of the jewels in the Latin American crown. A vast country stretching 3,500 kilometres from the Bolivian border in the north to Ushuaia and the gateway to Antarctica in the south, it is a place that offers some of the most impressive natural wonders anywhere on earth. It has a world-class tourist infrastructure, with arguably the best cuisine on the continent, and it is safe. But its not just that that makes a trip to Argentina feel so special. The country simply has a redoubtable spirit unlike any other in the region, and nowhere is that more evident than in its lively capital, Buenos Aires. If Argentina is one of the jewels in the Latin American crown, so the cosmopolitan Buenos Aires is one of the standout cities of the continent. Many gateway cities are just that, and you’re best off getting in and getting out, but not the Argentine capital; this is a destination in its own right that ideally requires at least 3 days to truly explore. A place where the elegance of old Europe crashes against the colourful coast of Latin America, Buenos Aires is a beautiful city, with elegant and impressive architecture, relaxing parks and some great sites. Must see locations include the colourful Bocca district, famous for its brightly painted homes, San Telmo, renowned for its antique market and strange curiosity shops, Palermo, home to some of the city’s most stylish restaurants, hotel and bars, and the smart district of Recoleta, most well-known for its famous cemetery, the final resting place of among others Argentina’s most famous daughter, Eva Peron. From here heading north the first place you’ll be tempted to visit is one of the country’s many natural wonders… the famous Iguazu Falls. From here, working our way anti clockwise around the country you’ll come to Corrientes and the Iberia wetlands. Although not commonly visited by international travellers, we at Wild Frontiers love this place and run many trips to the atmospheric estancias where we have fun playing at being gauchos. From here you come to Cordoba, the country’s second largest city. This is a region known for the pretty Andean foothills into which you can ride or walk. Next up is the famous wine region of Mendoza. Anyone interested in gastronomy trips should spend at least 3 days here, where, staying at one of the locally-run boutique wineries you can enjoy some world class dining. But Mendoza isn’t only about cuisine… it is also the gateway to hikes up the America’s highest mountain, Aconcagua, and some good horse rides into the low Andes. Heading north of here is the spectacular coloured mountain desert region of Salta, and the northern routes into Chile and the Atacama Desert, or heading further east you’ll next come to San Martin de los Andes, where you’ll find some wonderful mountain scenery with a few great estancias again offering some great riding, and fishing, experiences this time into the higher Andes. Now heading south, the next location you’ll come to is one of the countries major highlights, the lake district of Bariloche. Here you can enjoy all manner of activities, from riding and cycling, to kayaking and abseiling, or just relaxing with a nice picnic on one of the regions many lakes. Heading south on highway 40, passed the fossilised remains of the world’s largest dinosaur, and the famous painted hands at Cueva de las Manos, you come to FitzRoy National Park before hitting one of the most impressive areas on the continent, El Calafate, and the regions wide open steppes and famous glaciers that here crash down into the lakes. There are many such glaciers but perhaps the most famous is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Puerto Moreno glacier. To the east of the country is Puerto Valdez, from which between October to March the Orca whales can be spotted, and in the very south is Ushuaia, and the gateway to Antarctica. At Wild Frontiers we have relationships with some of the best Antarctic explorer vessels. Argentina is a huge country and unless you are lucky enough to have a month to travel you are unlikely to see it all in one visit. The important thing is to work out what you’d like to see most, and then let us help you work out the best way to do it. Although Argentina may not have the level indigenous cultural traditions that Bolivia and Peru enjoy; although it might not have the beaches, colour and sheer razzmatazz that Brazil can boast, Argentina does have a plethora of sites and experiences with which to seduce the visitor. With its dramatic Patagonian steppes, its extraordinary glaciers, its colourful mountains and deserts, its lakes and its coast, Argentina’s landscapes are second to none. Its wildlife is impressive and varied, its cuisine is world class and in its cultured, cosmopolitan capital city, it has one of the most fun metropolises anywhere on the planet.

noodls 2015-04-09Argentina i/ˌɑrdʒənˈtiːnə/, officially the Argentine Republic (Spanish: República Argentina [reˈpuβlika aɾxenˈtina]), is a country in South America, the continent's second largest by land area, after Brazil. It is constituted as a federation of 23 provinces and an autonomous city, Buenos Aires. It is the eighth-largest country in the world by land area and the largest among Spanish-speaking nations.
Argentina's continental area is between the Andes mountain range in the west and the Atlantic Ocean in the east. It borders Paraguay and Bolivia to the north, Brazil and Uruguay to the northeast, and Chile to the west and south. Argentine claims over Antarctica, as well as overlapping claims made by Chile and the United Kingdom, are suspended by the Antarctic Treaty of 1961. Argentina also claims the Falkland Islands (Spanish: Islas Malvinas) and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, which are administered by the United Kingdom as British Overseas Territories.
A recognised middle power, Argentina is Latin America's third-largest economy, with a "very high" rating on the Human development index. Within Latin America, Argentina has the fifth highest nominal GDP per capita and the highest in purchasing power terms. Analysts have argued that the country has a "foundation for future growth due to its market size, levels of foreign direct investment, and percentage of high-tech exports as share of total manufactured goods", and it is classed by investors as middle emerging economy. Argentina is a founding member of the United Nations, Mercosur, the Union of South American Nations, the Organization of Ibero-American States, the World Bank Group and the World Trade Organization, and is one of the G-15 and G-20 major economies.
Ist es was wir denken
Oder ist es was wir sagen
Warum könnt ihr uns nicht leiden
Warum müssen wir euch ertragen
Warum könnt ihr nicht ruhig sein
Warum könnt ihr nicht schweigen
Warum müßt ihr immer wieder hetzen
Den Haß vorwärts treiben
Refrain:
zerschlug viel Porzellan
hab' immer aller Welt mißtraut
ließ keinen an mich 'ran.
