www.fillmorepedal.com I built a clone of the legendary MXR Phase 45 phase shifter of the mid 1970's. In the opinion of many including yours truly the "script version" Phase 45 is the best sounding phase shifter ever created by the hand of man. This classic known as the "one knob wonder" has a beautiful smooth, clean sound that responds to the guitarist's playing. This is not your nauseating, swooshy mess that makes many guitar players dislike phase shifters. MXR has never re-issued the Phase 45, which was used by David Gilmour, Jimmy Page and many other great guitarists back in the day. If you want one you have scour eBay and hope you find one in good working condition, or else build one yourself like I did. I play this though the 1967 Gibson SG Custom through a 1994 Crate Vintage Club 20 tube amplifier. Both the lead and rhythm guitar parts are played through the Phase 45 direct into the VC20. I start with the phase shift speed on slow then turn it up in 7 stages during the demo. Listen to the rhythm guitar parts to hear the speeds of phase. Mine is a bit cleaner sounding than the original stock MXR Phase 45 because I used high quality parts and made a few select circuit mods, and carefully tuned it. I changed the IC's to the NJM 2068D which is used in high-end Denon stereo equipment. One of the mods I made is that you can turn the knob past the slowest phase shift setting and "lock" the pedal into one part of the phase shift sweep. By using the knob in this range you <b>...</b>
