Cross: You've been shot at before.::Boone: Not sitting on a load of dynamite.::Cross: How about tied to a post?
Boone: One time in Denver, I ate in this restaurant. It had a big sign on the wall: "Watch your hat and coat". While I was watching them someone stole my steak...
Germany: Cross and Boone? Sounds like a dog-act...
Indio: I have something very important to tell you. I have just learned that the federales have put a price on my head. Ten pesos! Yes, that's right! Ten stinking pesos! I don't know about you, but this makes me very angry. There is a bandit from Durango who has not robbed and killed near as many innocent people as I have... and the price on his head is 10,000 pesos!
Boone: If the Confederacy hadn't run out of medals, I bet we would have got one then.::Cross: If they made a hero out of you, you wouldn't be worth a damn, Boone.::Boone: Yeah, I guess so... I guess so. I seen it happen to a lot of soldiers.
Germany: We're not afraid of a good fight.::Cross: There's no such thing as a good fight if you could wind up dead.
Jones: Do you know why it is that a man can always beat a dog at poker.::Young Fargo Man: No, sir.::Jones: A dog gets a good hand, he always wags his tail.
Boone: A lot of thanks I get, working to keeping you alive.::Cross: Having you work for me is like losing two good men.
Lieutenant: What does it mean?::Cross: Apache.::Boone: Is that all?::Cross: That's enough! Let's get out of here!
Cross: He said that firing squad couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a banjo!

Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News Demonstrations held by the far-right group Hooligans against Salafists — also known as HoGeSa — have recently gained momentum in Germany, as they organize marches in cities across the country. While the group claims to be protesting against Islamist extremism, the movement is widely accused of harnessing Islamophobia as a means of spreading racism. VICE News followed the Hooligans against Salafists movement from its first full-blown demonstration-turned-riot in Cologne, which was attended by 4,800 people. We also met with Islamic campaigner Sven Lau, who recently rose to infamy by starting a “Sharia Police,” and has consequently been used as a prominent example of the “Islamic invasion” of Germany by the HoGeSa movement. Spain’s deputy prime minister said 45 passengers were believed to be Spanish nationals. A spokesman for France’s interior ministry said the passenger manifest was being verified. airplane aircraft germanwings flight flying "french alps" alpine apls "southern france" france "breaking news" news terrain danger snow winter "mountain terrain" "flight simulator" sim simulator pilot "cabin crew" vacation holiday a320 aviation fleet airlines entertainment trendy trending hotel booking tracking "gps tracking" safe safety work airport 2015 2016 expert germany "ski resort" skiing media knowledge surveillance "elite nwo agenda" survival end game end times flight tracker remote alex jones infowars gerald celente anonymous life autopilot demcad jsnip4 george soros bilderberg 2015 rothschild illuminati false flag attack evidence proof exposed Flight 4U9525 disappeared off the radar at around 11.20am, Le Figaro reported. The plane dropped from 11,500 metres to 2,100 metres (38,000ft to 7,000ft) in nine minutes between 10.31am and 10.40am, air radar services said. Initial reports said a distress call was made by the pilots at 10.47am but French authorities later said this was not the case. Sebastien Giroux, one of the first eyewitnesses, said he saw the aircraft flying very low. “There was no smoke or particular sound or sign of anything wrong, but at the altitude it was flying it was clearly not going to make it over the mountains,” he told BFM-TV. “I didn’t see anthing wrong with the plane, but it was too low.” The plane crashed at 2,700 metres altitude in the Alps, in the commune of Méolans-Revel, an isolated area of small villages and hamlets that are difficult to reach. Debris is scattered over an area of 2 sq km, according to French search and rescue. Flight 4U 9525 vanished from radar screens at about 10.47 am local time, 46 minutes after take-off from Barcelona. French officials said that debris had been found on the 2,961 metre-high Estrop massif near the small town of Barcelonette in the Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence. French aviation officials denied earlier reports that the stricken aircraft had sent out a “mayday” signal. They said that it was French air traffic control which issued the distress signal when the plane disappeared from radar screens. It has been over a week since Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 disappeared without a trace, and the world is nowhere closer to finding either where the airplane and its 239 passengers and crew are to be found, nor what actually happened. Instead, what initially was speculation about a midair disintegration, and subsequently suggested a potential case of airplane terrorism gone wrong, has now transformed into a theory that the pilot and/or crew may have been engaged in “foul play”, especially since it appears that based on tracking data, that the plane flew for nearly seven hours after someone “skilled” purposefully shut down its communications and tracking beacon: possibly indicative of a stealthy midair hijacking. However, the same satellite data gave no precise location, and the plane’s altered course could have taken it anywhere from central Asia to the southern Indian Ocean. The idea that Flight 370 passengers and crew may still be alive is not a bizarre theory. Even Reuters is now reporting that U.S. authorities have stated, “…it’s also possible the plane may have landed somewhere.” • Fact #4: The mobile devices of many passengers continued to stay online for days after the disappearance

Sports Editor David Bond asks whether money has ruined English football and asks whether lessons could be learned from the German model. While the English Premier League is driven by money and top clubs rely on rich owners - often foreigners with no local roots - to succeed, Bundesliga clubs have succeeded without selling their souls. Our correspondent travels to Germany and speaks to fans of Borussia Dortmund - who are on the brink of reaching the Champions' League Final, along with arch-rivals Bayern Munich - who own a share in the club and have a say in how it is run. Unlike England, German clubs' financial affairs are not entwined with the finances of single owners and ticket prices are far more affordable.

"What makes this place so interesting is that you can change", explains Peter, a satisfied customer of a luxury new 'sex supermarket ' on the outskirts of Stuttgart. "You can take at 5:00 a blonde one, and at 9:00 a black one - it doesn't get boring." And Peter is not alone. An estimated 1.5 million men visit prostitutes every day in Germany, whose permissive sex laws have earned it the title of 'Europe's Bordello'. "Prostitution has always been a social need", says Michael Beretin, marketing manager for the Paradise chain of new-age megabrothels. "We need to deal with it, and make it manageable." Legislation passed in 2002, motivated by a desire to improve conditions for sex workers by granting access to health insurance and social security, saw prostitution in Germany swell to a $21 billion-a-year industry. But concerns over trafficking are prompting some senior politicians to lobby for change. "Germany doesn't want to be the brothel of the world", declares Christian Democratic Union MP Sylvia Pantel. "We've become a great country for sex tourism and perversion." But what of the women in the windows? This report brings you the views of those at the heart of the matter. Today the 1.3 kilometer long wall stands as a memorial to freedom and it is covered in art and graffiti. Right now we're visiting Brandenburg Gate. This gate dates back to the 18th Century. We're here at Tiergarten, one of the biggest parks in the city. MauerPark is a hipster hangout. Every Sunday people flock to this park and spend the day barbecuing, listening to music, enjoying a few beers, and simply having a good time. There's a popular flea market where you can pick up old vinyls and clothes, and if you head over to the Bear Pit you can catch some karaoke and musical performances. If you want to spot some cool street art, then head over to Friedrichshain. You can't come to Berlin and not eat a Currywurst! This is the city's most popular fast food snack. The sausage is served with a ketchup and curry powder concoction. Up next we're at the Reichstag building which has a pretty cool glass dome on top. This dome is actually open to visitors and it offers 360 degree views of the city. Today we're visiting Tempelhof, a re-purposed airport here in Berlin for leisure activities and sports. If you enjoy museums and art galleries you'll want to visit Berlin's Museum Island. They actually have five different museums here and if you get a daily pass for 18 Euros you get access to all five. We are now visiting the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin. It is also known as the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Charlottenburg Palace is the largest palace in Berlin and the only surviving royal residence in the city. Checkpoint Charlie was one of the crossing points between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War. Located near Alexanderplatz, The Berlin TV Tower offers a great lookout over the city. Chocolate! Ritter Sport is a chocolate brand that is sold all over Germany, and while in Berlin we couldn't resist sampling a few of the different varieties. Berlin Cathedral is located on Museum Island and it's one of the most beautiful churches in the city. If Currywurst is to your liking, you'll want to check out this quirky museum devoted to Berlin's favorite sausage. Renting a bike is a great way to get around the city. Most places will rent out bikes at 10 Euros per day. For a leisurely afternoon, hop on a boat and enjoy a tour down the River Spree. Of course, you cannot come to Berlin and not eat a Wurst or a sausage. The Friedrichshain flea market takes place every Sunday and it's a great place for people watching and a little browsing. The Germans sure know how to enjoy a hearty breakfast, and we recommend you try it too. Breakfast usually offers a wide sampling of loafs and bread rolls, accompanied with various deli cuts and cheese. We couldn't resist visiting yet another cat cafe while we were in Berlin. While in Berlin we enjoyed a hearty meal of Schnitzel. This thin strip of meat is coated in flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs, before being deep-fried. You can order it with a side of mashed potatoes or German noodles known as Spaetzle. It's quite easy to get around Berlin using the U-bahn and S-bahn system. In Berlin, there is a big Turkish population and that means there is awesome Turkish street food. And that's Berlin for you! A city that has risen from the ashes of the war, which is now bursting with art, music, and life. Have you been to Berlin? We'd love to hear your favourite things about the city in the comments below. For more travel and food videos, hit subscribe! This is part of our Travel in Germany series. Things to do in Germany | Top Attractions Travel Guide Germany was a country we fell in love with. Having spent a lot of time in SE Asia, we felt the need for a change of pace and Germany was just that. From urban hubs like Berlin to hidden gems like Freiburg, Germany offers a lot for those willing to explore and dig a little deeper. We start off our top attractions travel guide to Germany by focusing on Berlin. Below are the top 25 things to consider doing in the city: 1) Berlin Wall - East Side Gallery 2) Brandenburg Gate 3) Tiergarten 4) MauerPark Flohmarkt (MauerPark Flea Market) 5) Friedrichshain 6) Currywurst 7) Reichstag building 8) Tempelhof 9) Museum Island 10) Holocaust Memorial 11) Charlottenburg Palace 12) Checkpoint Charlie 13) Alexanderplatz - Berlin TV Tower 14) Ritter Sport 15) Berlin Cathedral 16) Currywurst Museum 17) Ride a Bike 18) Spree river boat tour 19) Wurst sausage 20) Friedrichshain Flohmarkt (flea market) 21) German Breakfast 22) Cat Cafe 23) Schnitzel and Spaetzle 24) U-bahn and S-bahn 25) Turkish Food Recently we had the opportunity to visit Europa-Park, the largest theme park in Germany and second most popular theme resort in all of Europe. This was the perfect opportunity for us to rekindle our childhood passion for rides. With over eleven different roller coasters alone we quickly realized we had never been to such a big theme park. What we found cool was that the theme park was divided into different European countries. If you can't visit all of Europe going to Europa Park is like getting little slivers of it all. Accommodating up to 50,000 guests per day, we were fortunate we didn't come during peak season; however, it was still crowded. Overall, the weather was perfect, the rides were fun and it is an experience we won't forget anytime soon. This is a bit of a surprise. We have an eight hour wait for a flight in Frankfurt, so instead of just hanging around in the airport, which was our original plan, we decided to drop our bags off and come into the city. That pretty much wraps up our little visit to Frankfurt. We spent maybe three or four hours just walking around and it was really nice to just see the city without much of an agenda. I came here with quite low expectations to be perfectly honest. I had heard more or less this is just a financial hub but it ended up being quite charming here in Frankfurt and I'm definitely going to miss Germany. I've had a wonderful time traveling around the country. We aren't having much luck with the weather today. It is really rainy here in Freiburg. It is Easter weekend but we are out an exploring and we want to show you the city. Let's go have a tour. One of my first impressions of Freiburg is that it is such a great city to walk around in. That's all we've been doing so far. It's very picturesque. There are cobbled streets and it is also very historic. Thankfully, the weather has shifted dramatically for the better. Earlier we had been rained out, so we had to head back into the hotel because it was cold and windy. Now we're seeing a few patches of blue skies, so we're going to keep exploring around Freiburg. This is part of our Travel in Germany series. We're making a series of videos showcasing German culture, German arts, German foods, German religion and German people. With Congress back in session, debate over reforming the American health care system is once again in full swing. Supporters of universal health care want the U.S. system to be more like those in Europe, with the government taking an active role to guarantee coverage for everyone. Those who oppose drastic changes in the U.S. system say greater government involvement and universal coverage guarantees will push the U.S. toward socialism. Germans have the oldest universal health care system in Europe - its origins go back more than a century - and they are generally pleased with the care they receive. Is there a lesson there for America? VOA's Sonja Pace reports from the German capital, Berlin.

Video ID: 20141019-013 W/S Speakers arriving at World Health Summit 2014 in Berlin M/S Speakers at panel SOT, Hans Dieter Klenk, Ebola expert from Institute for Virology at Philipps University Marburg, Germany (English): "Now in the light of five hundred or several hundreds of health care workers and doctors who became victims of the outbreak in these countries, I think in the light of this it is very embarrassing to know that most of these lives or many of these lives could have been saved if these vaccines would have been developed earlier." M/S Cutaway of panel speakers SOT, Hans Dieter Klenk, Ebola expert from Institute for Virology at Philipps University Marburg, Germany (English): "I don't think there is a threat that we have an epidemic like we have it in West Africa, in Europe or in the United States. I mean there have been these very regrettable accidents in Spain and in the US that people, that health care workers who were taking care of patients who were infected, got infected themselves. And I think this may also happen in Germany, but even when this happens, I think we will be able to confine the dices in these countries here." C/U Poster reading World Health Summit Berlin, Germany, October 19-22, 2014 Federal Foreign Office, Berlin SOT, Walter Lindner, Special Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Germany for Ebola (German): "These states, if we look at all three states Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, were weakened beforehand. two of them were civil war countries ten years ago with child soldiers and all that we know. In these states is already a total fragility. Today we have to watch out that these states don't collapse." W/S Press conference finishing SCRIPT Several Ebola experts held a press conference in Berlin, Sunday, to discuss the virus' outbreak in West Africa ahead of their participation in the 2014 World Health Summit in the German capital. Virologist and Ebola expert Hans Dieter Klenk stated that it was "embarrassing" to know that many of the lives lost from the spread of the disease could have been stopped if vaccines had been developed earlier. He went on to express doubts over the potential spread of an Ebola outbreak in Europe or the United States, saying that the risk level was far lower than in West Africa. Walter Lindner, the German government's Special Commissioner for Ebola, said that Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea, the three countries affected most by the Ebola outbreak, had been weakened before the spread of the virus. He added that it was the international community's responsibility to stop these states from complete collapse. The World Health Summit will host an unscheduled meeting on the Ebola outbreak on Monday morning, October 20. The summit runs from October 19-22. Doctors at the hospital in Leipzig said the man, 56, originally from Sudan, died despite receiving experimental drugs to treat the virus. More than 4,400 people have died from the outbreak, mainly in West Africa. The rate of new cases at some of the "epicentre" areas has slowed down, the World Health Organization says, but the number of cases in the capitals of the worst-affected countries is rising. Senior WHO official Bruce Aylward told reporters on Monday that the outbreak was also continuing to spread geographically to new districts in the capitals of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea. Temperature checks The man who died in Leipzig had been working as a UN medical official in Liberia - one of the worst affected countries - when he caught Ebola. He arrived in Germany last Thursday for treatment and was put into a hermetically sealed ward, accessed through airlock systems. Discover how the beautiful game of football brought World War 1 to a standstill on Christmas Day 1914. A British soldier kicked a football onto the battlefield to begin a day, and a match, unique in the world's history. The World Cup has came to a climatic finish, a finish that was fitting as it was class that won the tournament. Mario Goetze's extra time goal ended Germany's 24 year wait for a world cup title, and what a goal it was to win it. The first 90 remained goalless as Argentina continued to be assertive at the back as they have done most of the tournament. They were an example of how to defend, and they had a couple of chances to win it, Palacios attempt to lob Neuer came close. But it took an inspired substitution and a beautiful pass from Schurlle who has had an immense tournament, to set up the man of the moment, Mario Goetze, who chested the ball in his path and first time volleyed home. There were tears of joy as the just winners lifted the trophy, and ended the drought. Our turk goes to Goetze, to come in at that stage and take that goal as beautifully as he did, that merits a TURK any day. Lionel Messi and Thomas Mueller are looking to secure a win for their nation, and pending the winning team, each player is vying for the Player of the Tournament. Not exactly a World Championship match, mind. This is a test/demonstration of playing Wii Sports online, using real Wii consoles, via our in-progress mod that attempts to add online multiplayer onto games that do not feature it. As well as being a good test of if the game would run, it was also a good opportunity to see how well the mod works when tested across different countries (in this case, England and Germany); and the answer is quite well (it worked better than most of our English testers, honestly :P) The matches were played between me (MrBean35000vr) and Block (BlauCube on YouTube), with Chadderz sitting around and commentating. It's also fair to say that Block was playing with a reasonable amount of input lag, which may have affected his gameplay. Many thanks to Block (and the other testers) for the help! If you watched our previous video regarding the New Super Mario Bros. Wii online mod, needless to say, this is the same software. We've got Wiimote accelerometer sync working now, hence we could try out Wii Sports, but we can still only do two players for now. If you HAVEN'T seen the previous video, then this might all be a tad mysterious, but the upshot is, we put online multiplayer into Wii Sports and used it to play the games you see here. Needless to say, it's not perfect at this early stage. It currently only supports Wii Sports version 2 due to the different way they handle controller inputs, we have to mash the HOME menu lots of times to make sure the game loads at the same time, and only bowling works. The other games all desync due to RNG or other odd factors that we're not handling yet. Of course, all this can and probably will be changed in time! For the curious, the source code of the project is all available here: https://github.com/MrBean35000vr/netslug-wii and it can be tested if you compile it. If you do decide to do some tests, please feel free to report problems with games, etc, in the issue tracker! And no, the source code isn't particularly user-friendly. We plan to do stable releases in due course, but this is probably best confined to the tech-savvy for now (or the persistent). We will be uploading more footage of NSMBWii with the mod before too long, I'd imagine. And no, we haven't forgotten any of the other projects we've started, either, which means that any comments about those will go ignored! Well then, please enjoy the video, and see you all again next time!

Wade Barrett makes an appearance on Germany Sky Sports "Samstag Live!" - March 12, 2011 (interview w/German translator speaking) Thanks to twitter.com/xWonderfulAnnie for the review: "Wade Barrett was live on "Sky Sport Bundeliga" on a show called "Samstag LIVE!". First we could saw him with the moderator on his shoulder. After 1 hour left, he got his finally appearance. We could see him play "high striker" against a german football-player. Then they have to shoot down tin cans from a wooden box with a football. He wins the first one and the second was a draw. At the beginning of the show he wore black shoes, black jeans & a suit. Then the same just with the 'The Corre' shirt. Later he wore a suit again. The moderators ask him few question about his work in the WWE. Wade talks about wanna be the first english World Champion, his heel character on tv and the entertainment part of wrestling. Between that, they showed a video-clip of the best 5 wrestling-moves. At the end there was a WWE fan who could ask Wade a question."

http://bookinghunter.com Berlin is the capital city of Germany and one of the 16 states of Germany. Berlin is situated in northeastern Germany. The most important places to visit in Berlin are: Checkpoint Charlie (its name was given for the Berlin Wall crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War), Berlin city hall (built in Italian Renaissance style, its construction lasted from 1861 to 1869. Along with the State Government of Berlin it is also the office of the city's Governing Mayor), The Potsdam Castle (located about 15 miles outside of Berlin, the castle is a gorgeous masterpiece nestled amidst vineyards. This lovely structure is so exquisite that it is often regarded as the German equivalent of The Palace of Versailles), Reichstag (the seat of German Parliament. Built in 1894, it housed the Parliament of the German Empire and the Weimar Republic. In 1933, a suspicious fire in the Reichstag propelled the Nazi regime to power), The Holocaust Memorial (is a tribute to the millions of Jews killed by the Nazi government. It consists of 2007 stone slabs spread over an area the size of three soccer fields), Museum Island (located in the center of Berlin on the river Spree, it has many world-renowned museums. Due to the art and history that is preserved here, the island is a UNESCO Heritage Site), Brandenburg gate (completed in 1791, this gate is a symbol of Germany. After World War II, the gate was one of the 8 checkpoints between East and West Berlin), Berlin Cathedral (centuries old, this historic landmark has been treasured by all of Germany. Several grand domes adorn the top of the cathedral. Its striking beauty makes the trip worthwhile), Charlottenburg Palace (Berlin's largest royal summer palace. Constructed in the late 17th century. this large, ornate landmark houses a 200-year-old mausoleum that served as a royal burial ground) and many more. This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money, the most important Berlin travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. Travel video about destination Berlin in Germany. Berlin is Germany's modern capital city, a fascinating European metropolis with a dramatic history in which contemporary architecture merges with the imposing character of a centuries-old city. The Nokolai Quarter was built by the DDR government as a sort of old town, a European Disneyland for the city's 750th anniversary, a popular area with 'new' medieval buildings that display various guilds and stone statues that surround the city's oldest church. We travel to nearby Potsdam, a city of castles and gardens and with an old town that features a lively market atmosphere. When the monarchy settled there, so did their armies and with them came craftsmen, merchants and artists from many countries. The castle-like Nauener Tor leads to the Russian colony of Alexandrowka and then to Belvedere on the Pfingstberg. Returning to Berlin we embark on a trip at the Eastern Train Station on the Panorama S-Bahn whose carriages are equipped with large panoramic windows and marvelous views turn the journey into a wonderful adventure. The Olympia Stadium is still a gigantic and remarkable sight and for the 11th Olympic Games in 1936, the Third Reich spared no expense. A new city has emerged from its historic past, Berlin, a young metropolis of the third millennium that is increasingly becoming the centre of Europe. This metropolis with a heart is always worth a visit!

Arriving at Frankfurt International Airport we faced a bit of dilemma. With close to eight hours to kill before our flight from Frankfurt to Brisbane via Abu Dhabi and Singapore, we had to decide between hanging out at the airport and getting online work done or going into the city to for some quick one day whirlwind tour of the city. It wasn't long before we made the decision to head into town. Frankfurt, known locally as Frankfurt am Main, is the business and financial centre of Germany; however, I hadn't heard of many people visiting this city as opposed to using it as a mere transportation hub to get to more popular tourists destinations such as Berlin, Heidelberg or Hamburg. With very few preconceived exceptions we immediately started to be won over by the charm of the city center as we ventured past the futuristic avant-garde skyscrapers to Römer square. We couldn't help but notice the contrast of wealthy businessmen scurrying about in relation to relaxed hipster hangouts along the River Main. Getting outside of the financial hub of the city allowed us to experience a quieter pace of life where many well maintained older buildings displaced futuristic modern ones. One of our favorite experiences was visiting many of the green escapes where the hustle and bustle gave way to ponds, nature trails and geese. Some of the top highlights of our afternoon stroll included visiting Römer square, various museums, the River Main, Römerberg, Alte Nikolaikirche, Saint Bartholomeus' Cathedral, Römerplatz and Hauptwache. Overall, it was the perfect way to spend the afternoon as opposed to being cooped up in the airport waiting hours on end for our flight. This is part of our Travel in Germany series. We're making a series of videos showcasing German culture, German arts, German foods, German religion and German people. World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Bavaria Travel Guide http://bit.ly/122uYVH Shepherd Entertainment gives you the history of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which is a mountain resort town in Bavaria, Germany. Garmisch was a small alpine dwelling inhabited by shepherds but the neighboring, Partenkirchen already existed in Roman times and was called Parthenon. The residents of the two villages probably didn't like each other much. They even built their churches with their backs to each other lest they should meet by chance. All this changed in 1935 when the two villages were united in order to have better chances at the tender to organize the winter Olympics. This is when they built their ice skating stadium that was once the biggest in Europe. The three run ski jump stadium at the foot of the -- and the bobsled track surrounded by mountain lakes. The city is still developing and it's become one of the most well known vacation and ski resorts of Germany. However, it's not only a paradise for winter sports. One of Europe's biggest swimming complexes and the first wellness center Auschwitz was built in the 1970s. It has a water surface of 2000 square meters, a wave pool and an open beach. In summer, people can also swim in Riessersee, -- and Eibsee. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a real holiday resort with a well kept holiday park, theater, confectioneries and restaurants. Richard Strauss bought a villa here from the royalties who received for his opera Salome and lived here until his death. We can find villas similar to Strauss' in both parts of the city mixing with farm houses built in alpine style. There are some Franconia and Swabian, wooden beam structured houses called Fachberg houses but there are more Bavarian ones. The latter are shorter, stubbier. Earlier these frescoes also called luftmalerei used to portray religious scenes but today, they'd rather tell the story of the house itself or the family who owns the house. On the walls of hotels and shops, they're a form of advertisement. The wall of Garmisch's oldest in inn, the Huszar is decorated with the picture of a dragon looking out the window. The well kept gardens are full of flowers of an incredibly wide variety and naturally geraniums adorn all windowsills and railings. The new joint city hall was built in 1935 before the winter Olympics. The most remarkable event in the city surroundings is the passion play in Oberammergau. The inhabitants of the small mountain village have been performing the story of the passion of Christ every 10 years for 380 years now. Their ancestors took a vow to do this at the time of the great plague. The passion is performed for six month from morning until evening and is now a widely known event that draws hundreds of thousands of spectators. A real technical relic, one of the old locomotives of the Zugspitzbahn is exhibited in front of the --house. New motor engines have taken its place in transportation which may not be prettier but are certainly more modern. Every winter, skiers, snow boarders and extreme sports lovers invade the mountains around Garmisch. The lower station of the Zugspitzbahn is near the stadium. There're several ways to go up the mountain including the cograils, cable cars, funiculars and ski lifts. But we can only get near the 2966m high summit with the Zugspitzbahn. Experienced hikers and mountain climbers can also reach the summit on foot in nine hours. The first person to reach the Zugspitz in this way was a Bavarian soldier in 1920. The tracks wind between the houses on the western part of Garmisch then make their way up the steep hillside. Through the pine forests, we can see spectacular mountain lakes sparkling. The last stretch of the journey takes us through a long tunnel. Emerging from the tunnel, we are greeted by a beautiful small lake and after a couple of minutes, we reach the top station. On the summing, we'll find a ski lift and a resthouse with two coats of arms on its railings to show where Bavaria ends and where the Austrian province Tyrol begins. From the huge terrace, we can see the surrounding mountains of Vank, --. There's a small chapel on the snow speckled summit where victims of the mountains are commemorated. The restaurant of the rest house offers tourists, mountaineers and skiers real Bavarian specialties and hot drinks. For our way down, we can also choose the cable car, the Seilbahn that takes us to the small lake of Eibsee instead of Garmisch. Eibsee is a crystal clear emerald colored mountain lake. Campgrounds and hotels have been built here and many people come here in summer to swim and row boats. tips,Garmisch-Partenkirchen,Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, germany travel tips, shepherd entertainment,Garmish Partenkirchen in Bavaria Germany, shepherdfilm, world travel

Cruising the Rhine River, we dodge riverboat traffic and the legendary Lorelei. After climbing castles and descending into dungeons, we relax with Rhine wine. We tour Burg Eltz — a lived-in castle where the noble lady still puts out fresh flowers. Then we enter the walled town of Rothenburg for Germany's best wood carving, a vivid dose of medieval punishment, and a tour with the night watchman of the town's lamp-lit ramparts. © 2002 Rick Steves' Europe

The Los Angeles Times 2015-04-12Germany (i/ˈdʒɜrməni/), officially the Federal Republic of Germany (German: Bundesrepublik Deutschland, pronounced [ˈbʊndəsʁepuˌbliːk ˈdɔʏtʃlant] ( listen)), is a federal parliamentary republic in Europe. The country consists of 16 states while the capital and largest city is Berlin. Germany covers an area of 357,021 km2 and has a largely temperate seasonal climate. With 81.8 million inhabitants, it is the most populous member state and the largest economy in the European Union. It is one of the major political powers of the European continent and a technological leader in many fields.
A region named Germania, inhabited by several Germanic peoples, was documented before AD 100. During the Migration Period, the Germanic tribes expanded southward, and established successor kingdoms throughout much of Europe. Beginning in the 10th century, German territories formed a central part of the Holy Roman Empire. During the 16th century, northern German regions became the centre of the Protestant Reformation while southern and western parts remained dominated by Roman Catholic denominations, with the two factions clashing in the Thirty Years' War, marking the beginning of the Catholic–Protestant divide that has characterized German society ever since. Occupied during the Napoleonic Wars, the rise of Pan-Germanism inside the German Confederation resulted in the unification of most of the German states into the German Empire in 1871 which was Prussian dominated. After the German Revolution of 1918–1919 and the subsequent military surrender in World War I, the Empire was replaced by the Weimar Republic in 1918, and partitioned in the Treaty of Versailles. Amidst the Great Depression, the Third Reich was proclaimed in 1933. The latter period was marked by Fascism and World War II. After 1945, Germany was divided by allied occupation, and evolved into two states, East Germany and West Germany. In 1990 Germany was reunified.
Well I thought...
That I meant something to you
But now I see that it's untrue
I guess you must have slept
With every guy you ever met
But I'm gonna get you back
If its the last thing I ever do
The stains on your mattress cannot hide
The fruits of your labor stuffed inside
But, while your in la-la land
Whispering the name of another man
I'm gonna turn my back
And leave your cheating ass behind
I'm gonna run away with your money
And buy a ticket to Germany
I'm gonna sleep with every single slut on the River Bohn
And I'll be surfing down the River Rhine (Whoo--oo--ooo)
And you'll be standing in the Welfare line
You're money and you're honey
Are long gone!
It's nothing personal
You saw to that
You're just a person
Who does her best work on her back
But if you're 'wakend
By an obscene call
I sprayed your number on the Berlin wall
I've seen the soldiers as they pass it all around
Imagine all the dick that you once missed
Because you couldn't find the Communists
East or West
Your still the best deal in town
I'm gonna run away with your money
And buy a ticket to Germany
I'm gonna sleep with every single slut on the River Bohn
And I'll be surfing down the River Rhine (Whoo--oo--ooo)
And you'll be standing in the Welfare line
You're money and you're honey
Are long gone!
You're money and you're honey
Are long gone!
You're money and you're honey
standing in the middle of a crisis
you see me
i can't see you
it's so dark
if we save ourselves
we allow the others to fall
still so dark
and would you die for them
unsatisfied believer
you believe in what you hate
you can't see
we're supposed to trust each other
survival is so one-sided
i saw the example of someone
who gave their life to save my life
when i thought i had it all figured out
in this world
i'm no different
Torn by East and West, divided by the wall,
ohoh Germany, Germany
(They) wanted our best, that's not the view of all,
ohoh Germany, Germany
Young people here, teenagers there,
May we can find a new way?
Music we love is not allowed
On the other side of the wall
Germany, Germany, living side by side,
East and West through the wall
Germany, Germany, imagine this new life,
Harmony between us all
Let's make up our minds, come closer day by day,
it's our Germany, Germany
The music will set signs, and help to find a way,
for our Germany, Germany
Young people here, teenagers there,
May we can find a new way?
Music will join our hearts and souls
even the wall will ever stay
There was a wall constructed inside of my ripping through
my heart
And brick by brick I'll slave to tear it all down
Say goodbye to loneliness the past is finally dead
There is no allegiance the past is finally dead
I felt so trapped a stranger frozen to these streets
With broken bones wounds I swore would never heal
I always hoped for something true but
My emotions were always conflicted, so conflicted
Next stop the Berlin Bridge
I once gave my heart for black hair pale skin and broken
English
My life was always so confined
Like being chained against the flow of the gutter
I had no worth only a hunger for excess to fill the gaps
There was no depth to this abyss
So conflicted
From this day forward
I'll wear my heart on my sleeve
It's ten below outside but it's pale in comparison
To how frozen my judgment used to be
There is no regrets the past is finally dead
The past is finally dead
I have no regrets
Some days are just a copy
Of a day you had before
You flash yourself thinking
You can't take it anymore
Never feels more alone
When you're in a crowded room
And bang your head to a wall
You feel nothing at all
Just want to feel the same
Some things will never change
Always knew you'd be a star
Now I know that's what you are
And we cry
To a new beginning
We deny
A new beginning
So let me introduce to you
This favourite play of mine
A comedy called Germany
You may not understand
The funny thing it's about someone
Who's never been alone
Just trying to be a friend
Back in WWII the bombs kept dropping,
This old city was smashed to the ground.
And the orders were given to destroy everything,
Even to bring that beautiful cathedral down.
But the best bomber pilots, well,
They all tried it and their aim was never true.
As if the work of God or divine protection,
Or that they just could not do what they were ordered to do.
Today it still stands like a giant tombstone,
A monument to a time long gone.
To the old lady beggars with their faces to the ground,
It's tall arch doorways are right where they belong.
You know Hitler he would have been pissed I guess,
But I'm glad that the good guys missed.
No matter what you believe or how you feel about churches,
Let me tell you, you really wanna see this.
You'll be thankful those bombs didn't hit.
We went south down the river to where the Rhine and the Basel meet.
Stood on that small triangular ground
Where this country was founded on our own two feet.
On the way we learned castles are smaller
In real life then they are in the fairy tales.
But that realization didn't stop our fascination
As we explored the secret tunnels behind the safety rails.
As we hopped over those safety rails...
We headed East and we crossed the border,
The border that was no longer there.
And although the fences and walls are long gone,
The weight of their ghosts hung heavy in the air.
The buildings all had different looks on their faces,
They were standing strong and stout.
Going 80 on the Audabon will really take you places,
If you wanna learn history get out of your house.
And all of the statues of Dresden looked mean and cold and angry.
They've all got black faces that say, "You can never kill me!"
And our bus drove by Slaughterhouse 5 on the way to our campground.
We ended up sleeping in a farmer's field cause two years ago the place was shut down.
We went to the forest and we camped a few nights and then we said goodbye
To all the bakeries and the nice young bees that would always give us rides.
