Peninsula Hot Springs are a unique and invigorating experience in the rolling hills of the Mornington Peninsula. They source the mineral water from natural hot springs 637m below ground. This water comes out at a warm 50°C and then is cooled down to various temperatures between 37°C and 43°C so everyone can find a pool at a temperature that is comfortable for them. The thermal waters in these pools are also full of minerals and are considered to have healing qualities for the body. There are over 20 different styles of bathes and pools to choose from and you can even indulge in their private bathing area. We did that with a bottle of bubbly. They even have a Hamam, Turkish Steam Room, where you can purchase the salts from reception and do the scrub amongst friends, or organise a group and have a therapist teach you what to do. The bathes make the most of their natural surroundings so you don't feel like you are just walking in to public swimming pools, which a lot of thermal pools can feel like. They also empty the pools at the end of each day and fill them fresh each morning. The ultimate indulgence though is visiting their Spa Dreaming Centre for any one of their signature treatments. I was taken u to their Arabian marquee (incredible by the way!) and enjoyed a massage, scrub and facial. This is seriously the most amazing day spa experience I have ever had. They have so many packages to choose from and can organise a bathe and dine package and they can even organise accommodation at a close by hotel for you. http://bookinghunter.com Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia. Sydney's urban area is in a coastal basin, which is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Blue Mountains to the west, the Hawkesbury River to the north and the Royal National Park to the south. The most important places to visit in Sydney are: Sydney Opera House (among the world's most recognized landmarks. Set on the Sydney harbor, it is an unforgettable sight), Sydney Harbor Bridge (simply called "the bridge" by locals, courageous ones can even climb up the bridge), Bronte Beach (lesser known than Bondi, it is a beautiful beach, popular amongst families), Blue Mountains (an unspoiled mountain range filled with Eucalyptus trees. It is located 30 miles from Sydney, and there are plenty of hiking trails), Bondi Beach (Sydney's most famous beach, its lively promenade is as exciting as the beach) and many more. http://bookinghunter.com Cairns is a regional city in the far north of Queensland, Australia, founded 1876. The city was named after William Wellington Cairns, then-current Governor of Queensland. It was formed to serve miners heading for the Hodgkinson River goldfield, but experienced a decline when an easier route was discovered from Port Douglas. It later developed into a railhead and major port for exporting sugar cane, gold and other metals, minerals and agricultural products from surrounding coastal areas and the Atherton Tableland region. As of June 2012, the population is approximately 153,075. The most important places to visit in Cairns are: The Great Barrier Reef, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, Kuranda Scenic Railway, Daintree and Cape Tribulation, Dine and Wine at the Atherton Tablelands and many more. http://www.expedia.com/Darwin-and-vicinity.d6131317.Destination-Travel-Guides Darwin is the capital of the Northern Territory, in the “top end” of Australia. Traditionally the home of the Larrakia People, Darwin was settled by Europeans in 1869. The city’s isolation has meant that its population has always been low, which is just the way its laid-back residents like it. On Thursdays and Sundays, locals and visitors head to the Mindil Beach Markets to shop, dance and enjoy foods from all over the world. At sunset, head down to the beach as the sun dips into the Arafura Sea, then catch a movie under the stars at the Deck Chair Cinema. Learn about the city’s military history, at the Defense of Darwin Experience and the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre. At the Darwin Museum and Art Gallery, discover the region’s local cultures and unique natural environment. To experience the Northern Territory’s most fearsome residents, pay a visit to Crocodylus Park and Crocosaurus Cove, home to some of the largest captive saltwater crocodiles on the planet. There are over 20 national parks in the Darwin region, including popular Litchfield National Park. Just an hour and a half from Darwin, Litchfield is set around a sandstone plateau, crisscrossed by deep, narrow gorges filled with monsoon forests, waterfalls and croc-free swimming holes. Kakadu National Park is a three-hour drive from Darwin. Half the size of Switzerland and home to one-third of Australia’s bird species and some of the world’s oldest rock art, Kakadu is more than a national park, it’s a national treasure.

http://www.expedia.com/Adelaide-and-vicinity.d6051330.Destination-Travel-Guides Adelaide is the capital of South Australia and is situated close to the Great Southern Ocean. It is a compact beachside city that is full of churches, stone buildings and beautiful parklands. This picturesque city is unusual amongst Australian cities in that it was founded by free settlers, not convicts. Those early founders put a lot of passion into creating a better life for themselves even though they were many thousands of miles from home. Because of that history, Adelaide has a unique sense of refinement and beauty. One of the most popular places to visit is Victoria Square which is right in the heart of the city. From here, it is easy to wander along the North Terrace District and admire the graceful buildings and museums which echo with stories from the past. At the South Australian Museum, visitors can learn about the rich cultures that were in the area before the Europeans arrived. Another great place to visit is the Art Gallery of South Australia where visitors can enjoy the extensive collections of Australian and International Art. Don’t miss the legendary Adelaide Oval which many claim to be one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world. Adelaide is also well known as a gateway to the famous Barossa and Clair Valleys which are a food and wine lovers paradise. Many of the early settlers to this area were German and they brought with them grapes from their homeland. The area is now well-known for producing outstanding shiraz and reisling. While you are in the area, stop at any of the many wineries for a wine tasting or to enjoy a meal using fine local produce. Adelaide is an old world city that attracts visitors for its elegance and romance.

A modern city, Perth is the gem of Australia’s west coast and the capital of Western Australia. This friendly metropolis boasts pristine beaches, clear water, and plenty of coastline – not to mention an abundance of nature and mineral resources. Start your day of Perth sightseeing with a walk through Kings Park, which is larger than New York’s Central Park and home to the Western Australia Botanic Garden. More than 3,000 species of Western Australia’s plant life, including vibrant flowers, are on display here. Most of the park consists of bushland, which means lots of wildlife and quite a few walking trails. After a morning of reflection in the park, head over to the Swan Bell Tower to enjoy a spectacular view of the city. Don’t forget your camera! You will notice the diverse nature of Perth’s architecture from this vantage point, including the modern glass structures and London-inspired Tudor buildings. Perth tours are never complete without a ferry ride to Rottnest Island, affectionately called “Rotto” by the locals. This getaway is rife with opportunities to snorkel in the Indian Ocean, see wildlife such as seals and birds, and travel across more than 31 miles of cycle ways on a rented bicycle. Once your feet are back on mainland Western Australia, visit one of the jewels, and ultimately what draws much of the Perth tourism: Swan Valley. This region has a landscape peppered with vineyards, no surprise given that growing grapes has been a long-standing tradition in Swan Valley. Following a short (or leisurely paced) day trip to Swan Valley, return to Perth and head to Hillarys Boat Harbour for a sunset dinner. What will you do in Perth? Perth is a must visit if you're thinking of a trip over to Western Australia, the beautiful coastline and Perth attractions make it the ideal place to take family, friends or your partner. The city is easy to navigate, with everything fairly close, Hay and Murray Street is home to big name shops, cinemas and the GPO. Kings Park and Botanic Gardens are a beautiful place for a stroll and offers some great views of the city. The Botanic Gardens features over 3,000 species and the Rio Tinto Naturescape is great for the kids. The coastline is one of Perth's draws, and if the heat is getting to you head for a dip at the golden sands on Cottesloe Beach, City Beach or Scarborough. Fremantle is located at the mouth of the Swan River, boasting historical buildings, the Roundhouse and the Maritime Museum it's a popular place to visit. From Fremantle, hop on a boat over to Rottnest Island, it's a protected reserve and great for walking and cycling trails. noodls 2015-04-02Australia ( /əˈstreɪljə/), officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a country in the Southern Hemisphere comprising the mainland of the Australian continent as well as the island of Tasmania and numerous smaller islands in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It is the world's sixth-largest country by total area. Neighbouring countries include Indonesia, East Timor and Papua New Guinea to the north; the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and New Caledonia to the north-east; and New Zealand to the south-east.
For at least 40,000 years before European settlement in the late 18th century, Australia was inhabited by indigenous Australians, who belonged to one or more of roughly 250 language groups. After discovery by Dutch explorers in 1606, Australia's eastern half was claimed by Great Britain in 1770 and settled through penal transportation to the colony of New South Wales from 26 January 1788. The population grew steadily in subsequent decades; the continent was explored and an additional five self-governing Crown Colonies were established.
