New York Blizzard juno - New York Snow storm 2015 INCREDIBLE : Airlines canceled nearly 2,000 flights for Monday by 5 a.m. as a major winter storm takes aim at the Northeast. The storm is expected to bring as much as two feet or more of snow from New Jersey to Maine. An additional 1,672 flights have been cancelled for Tuesday and that number is expected to rise. The greatest impacts from the storm, which began as a clipper system that brought snow and slick roads to the Midwest on Sunday, are expected Monday evening through Tuesday. According to White House Spokesman Josh Earnest, President Obama was briefed on the storm and White House officials have been in touch with state and local officials on the eastern seaboard. FEMA also has assets in the region ready to assist, Earnest said. New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio told residents in a press conference Sunday not to underestimate the storm. “Prepare for something worse than we have seen before. Prepare to be safe. Take every precaution,” he said. “Now is the time to get ready for this extreme weather.” Ahead of the winter storm, NYC residents race to stock up on food essentials. A law enforcement source says a man being sought in an armed robbery was taken into custody after a police chase that started in New Jersey and ended on the Brooklyn side of the Verrazano Bridge when the fleeing vehicle crashed, capping off a dramatic sequence of events Tuesday captured exclusively by Chopper 4. The law enforcement source tells NBC 4 New York the U.S. Marshals' Regional New York/New Jersey Task Force had been looking for the man in connection with the robbery, the details of which weren't immediately clear. They found him in Old Bridge, New Jersey, and he fled in what appeared to be a blue car. The man was believed to be dangerous, the source said, and U.S. Marshals gave pursuit. The high-speed pursuit led from the Middlesex County town over the Outerbridge Crossing into Staten Island, then continued over the Verrazano Bridge and into Brooklyn. Chopper 4 showed nearly half a dozen vehicles, many with sirens blaring, zipping across the span and on residential streets before the runaway vehicle crashed on the Brooklyn side shortly after 2 p.m. The runaway car wove to either side of the road as it tried to evade the police cars and managed to separate from the cruisers for a moment on the Brooklyn side of the span before police caught up. A police car hit the speeding getaway car from behind and the getaway vehicle corrected course and kept moving. Chopper 4 showed the getaway car and the law enforcement vehicles speed past other cars in the Bath Beach neighborhood, including ones stopped at a traffic light, before they crashed. Resident Danny Castillo was inside his home when he heard the chase-ending crash that wrecked his red van parked outside. "I hear 'boom, boom, boom,' he hit three cars here. I see cops and helicopters everywhere," he told NBC 4 New York. "They ran out and chase some guy." "It was unbelievable, I've never seen anything like that happen, over here, especially," said Castillo. A person in a red shirt was seen getting out of the passenger side of the vehicle and trying to run after the crash. The driver of the runaway car momentarily appeared to try to flee again, but the banged-up car couldn't go far. MTA Bridges & Tunnels officers surrounded the vehicle and took the driver into custody on 14th Avenue, the agency said. The person in the red shirt was also apprehended. It wasn't clear which person was the one being sought in the armed robbery investigation. Charges are pending against both. The NYPD said two people were in custody at the 68th Precinct station in Bay Ridge and were expected to be moved to the 121st Precinct station on Staten Island. The MTA said it was asked to close the Verrazano but didn't get a chance before the chase spilled onto the span. At least one Port Authority officer was injured during the chase; the extent of the injuries was not clear but authorities said they were not considered life-threatening.

April 2, 2015 Financial News - Business News - Stock Exchange - NYSE - Market News CLICK HERE➡ ➡ http://FinancialBuzz.com Business News - Financial News - Stock News -- New York Stock Exchange -- Market News 2015 Business News - Financial News - Stock Exchange -- Wall Street -- Market News - New York Stock Exchange 2015 U.S. stocks rallied to start the 4-day trading week. The Dow jumped 260 points on Monday and the S&P; closed 1 percent higher, thanks to encouraging talk of stimulus in Asia. Personal income in February was in-line with market consensus, posting a gain of 0.4 percent; Consumer spending picked up 0.1 percent. Pending homes sales jumped 3.1 percent, driven primarily by sales in the West and Midwest regions. But the party was over on Tuesday as the Dow dropped triple digits, with healthcare sector falling the most in the final trading day in the first quarter. Investors are realizing that the economic conditions are challenging. It's hard to see how the U.S. is going to raise interest rates in the face of global weakness. On Wednesday markets spent a second day in the red; ISM for March posted 51.5, the lowest level on this indicator since last May. Construction spending fell 0.1 percent in February, for a second straight month of decline. March ADP Employment Report came in very soft at 189,000, below forecasts. Crude oil climbed back to $50 a barrel, as negotiations over Iran's nuclear program are heading into double overtime. Negotiators missed a deadline on Iran's nuclear talks that might bring more supply to the market. Oil prices rallied for the first time in four days following a weekly U.S. inventory report that turned out to be less than some had feared. On Thursday stocks traded higher; Initial jobless claims fell very sharply, down 20,000 to 268,000. Factory orders showed an increase of 0.2 percent. The U.S. trade balance for February sharply narrowed on lower oil prices. Now some company highlights: GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY) the web hosting service best known for its outrageous TV ads, went public on Wednesday with drastically different views for the company’s prospects. But investors had to be pretty happy with how the stocks performed on the first day: it popped over 30% in its debut on the NYSE. But there are still doubters, much of the analysis talked about how GoDaddy’s IPO went to pay off some of the company’s mounting debt. UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) will spend $12 billion to buy a pharmacy benefits firm Catamaran, saying it is trying to control the rising costs of prescription drugs. UnitedHealth plans to merge Catamaran to fulfill more than one billion prescriptions. The deal will help the company increase its profits about 5% in 2016. It took eight months after first asking, but Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) finally got the go-ahead from the FAA to begin the research of their Prime Air program. But the e-commerce giant still has a long way to go before it can use the friendly skies to deliver goods, while facing concerns over public safety and privacy. The ISM manufacturing index for February dropped to 52.9, the lowest level since January of 2014. Personal income for January increased .3% and personal spending fell .2%. The People’s Bank of China cut benchmark interest rates by .25%, in an attempt to halt deteriorating economic conditions in that country. On Tuesday, motor vehicle sales for February were down, with domestic vehicle sales coming in at 13.1 million, 300,000 units lower than January, and likely due to bad winter weather. On Wednesday, the ADP employment report for February was down 38,000 to 212,000, slightly below expectations. The ISM non-manufacturing index for February was up slightly to 56.9, pointing to continued strength in the services sector. On Thursday, the European Central Bank announced they will begin asset purchases next week of 60 billion euros a month. Jobless claims for the week ending February 28 rose 7,000 to 320,000, higher than expected. On Friday, the highly awaited employment report came out for February and nonfarm payrolls were 295,000 up 56,000 and the unemployment rate down .2% to 5.5%. Market were down on the news, fearing that the Fed will hike rates sooner due to the strong job numbers. Now let’s take a look at some stocks. GoPro, Inc. shares tumbled at the start of this week, closing below $40.00 on Monday, down nearly 5%, after Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi release their Yi Action Camera, a waterproof camera designed to compete with GoPro. Xiaomi’s new camera is currently only available for sale in China and costs only $64, less than half the cost of GoPro’s cheapest camera. Lumber Liquidators Holdings, Inc. stock slid the entire week following a report on CBS’s “60 Minutes” showing Lumber Liquidators’ laminate flooring that is made in China contains formaldehyde in greater amounts than permitted by California standards. Formaldehyde, is a known carcinogen. The company claims these accusations were falsely created by short sellers and intends to fight them. Alibaba Group Holding Limited shares dropped Tuesday after the company came under scrutiny regarding the validity of its sales volume due to “fake” orders placed with the company. At the same time, the Taiwanese government accused the company of violating investment rules by registering through a Singapore-based holding company in order to hide its Chinese ownership. Alcoa Inc., saw their stock down more than 6% Wednesday after analysts at Bank of America lowered their stock rating from “buy” to “neutral” while also cutting their price target from $20 to $17. B of A stated that “worsening aluminum fundamentals” was the reason for the downgrade. March 6, 2015 Weekly Stock Market Wrap-up: GoPro Inc. (NASDAQ:GPRO) Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc. March 13, 2015 Financial News - Business News - Stock Exchange - NYSE - Market News CLICK HERE➡ ➡ http://FinancialBuzz.com Business News - Financial News - Stock News -- New York Stock Exchange -- Market News 2015 Business News - Financial News - Stock Exchange -- Wall Street -- Market News - New York Stock Exchange 2015 Monday was the 6th birthday of the bull market in U.S. stocks; the S&P; has climbed about 206% since 2009. Stocks bounced back from last week’s selloff with no major economic data releases to rock the boat. But the roller coaster ride started on Tuesday when stocks plunged 1.5%, erasing their entire gains for the year so far. Markets couldn’t shake off the pressure from a surge in the dollar and weakness in oil. On Wednesday the dollar continued its relentless rally and the euro touched a new 12-year low. On Thursday retail sales declined 0.6% in February but cheap gasoline prices are not to blame this time; it was the latest auto sales number, which dropped 2.5%. Initial jobless claims fell a very steep 36,000 in the first week of March to 289,000. Stocks rallied into the close after a shaky two days; the rebound was probably in response to many investors who think the Fed will not be raising interest rates due to the mixed economic data. The roller coaster ride continued on Friday with the market trading off the dollar; U.S. Producer Price index for February showed a decline of 0.5 percent, missing earlier estimates. Now some company highlights: First, Apple unveiled its first smartwatch and a new MacBook Air in a media event on Monday. Tim Cook said the watch is Apple’s most personal device; but it was also positioned as a fashion accessory. Apple Watch is the company’s first all-new product since iPad launched in 2010. Barnes & Noble, the bookstore dropped 10% on Tuesday as earnings came in below Wall Street’s forecasts. The bookstore had planned to spin off its college books business by August, along with its Nook tablets and e-book section. But the company had to pay 55 percent more income tax in the third quarter. Barnes & Noble said its bottom line was hurt by higher tax bills. Lumber Liquidators, which was battered by a "60 Minutes" report on the safety of its flooring products, continues to trade in volatile pattern, driven by commentaries both positive and negative, on the future of the company. Lumber Liquidators has been trying to repair its reputation over product safety issues, by saying they will now allow customers to freely test their products to ensure its safety. Warren Resources jumped 13.9 percent on Wednesday after the oil and gas company beat earnings projections. Warren Resources produced about 9.1 billion cubic feet of gas equivalent in the fourth quarter. The New York based company posted a revenue of $41 million. Industrial production for February was up a weak %.1 and the capacity utilization rate fell slightly to 78.9%. On Tuesday, housing starts for February fell an unexpectedly sharp 17% to 897,000 units. However, building permits were up 3% to a little over 1 million units. Wednesday was the big day everyone was waiting for, the Fed finished its meeting and issued a statement without the word “patient”, implying that interest rate increases were coming soon. However, the statement maintained a dovish tone stating "an increase in the target range for the federal funds rate remains unlikely at the April FOMC meeting." In a news conference, Fed Chair Yellen said they are still looking for improvement in the labor market and higher inflation before raising the federal funds rate. Markets quickly shot up on the news, however, the dollar index slumped as much as 3% in a strong selloff. On Thursday, jobless claims for the week ending March 14 were virtually unchanged, up 1,000 to 291,000. Crude futures fell more than 3% to below $44 a barrel after news from OPEC raised fears of oversupply. On Friday, stocks open sharply higher as the dollar show signs of weakness. Now let’s take a look at some stocks. Netflix, Inc. shares slumped more than 3% at the start of the trading Monday after investment bank Evercore downgraded the online video streaming company from “hold” to “sell” and also slashed the company’s price target to $380 from $450. The downgrade was due to increased competition in the industry from existing and emerging distributors. General Electric Company saw its stock steadily increase this week following an announcement last Sunday stating that the company will sell its consumer-lending business in Australia and New Zealand to a group of investors in a transaction worth approximately $6.3 billion. The investing group consists of global investment firm Varde Partners based out of Minneapolis, KKR & Co. and Deutsche Bank. Kraft Foods Group, Inc.’s stock slumped on Wednesday after the company issued a recall for more than 6.5 million boxes of their Macaroni & Cheese following reports from customers that found small metal fragments inside. Thus far, no injuries have been reported but Kraft recommended that consumers should return the product to the store where it was purchased for an exchange or refund. Herbalife, Ltd. surged more than 12% Wednesday after the nutrition company won a dismissal of a lawsuit filed by a shareholder alleging that he lost money following the accusations made by hedge-fund manager William Ackman. Ackman claims Herbalife is a pyramid scheme, however, a U.S. District Judge in Los Angeles stated that the shareholder did not present credible evidence showing that Herbalife misrepresented itself. March 20, 2015 Financial News - Business News - Stock Exchange - NYSE - Market News CLICK HERE➡ ➡ http://FinancialBuzz.com Business News - Financial News - Stock News -- New York Stock Exchange -- Market News 2015 Business News - Financial News - Stock Exchange -- Wall Street -- Market News - New York Stock Exchange 2015 On Monday U.S. stocks closed lower as investors looked ahead to a light week of economic reports and some consolidation in currency and oil prices. Existing home sales bounced 1.2 percent higher, to 4.88 million units, still slightly below forecasts. On Tuesday stocks continued to fall as investors attempted to find clarity on the timing of an interest rate hike, as inflation data came in roughly in line with projections. Consumer price index made a comeback by rising 0.2% in February but was flat year-over-year. New home sales picked up sharply to a 539,000 annual rate, following a big upward revision to January, to 500,000. These are the first two 500,000 readings going all the way back to April and May of 2008. On Wednesday U.S. stocks got crushed, closing more than 1 percent lower as Wall Street bowed to the pressure of the strong dollar and its impact on the economy. Nasdaq lost more than 2 percent; with biotechnology, one of the best performing sectors falling more than 3.5%, marking its biggest one-day plunge this year. The losing streak continued on Thursday as major indices tanked through the trading day, erasing their entire gains for the year so far, and the dollar rallied to a 12-year high against the euro. Initial jobless claims fell to a five-week low, pointing to a healthy and expanding labor market. But stocks failed to shake off the losses and investors weighed the stronger dollar and weaker global economy ahead of the earnings season. On Friday biotechnology sector attempted to break this week’s decline but investors remained cautious. The third estimate for fourth-quarter U.S. GDP came in unchanged at 2.2%. Consumer spending was revised higher to 4.4 percent. Now some company highlights: Hewlett-Packard announced a new partnership to equip its PCs, tablets, and other gadgets with audio technology from a Danish television and sound system maker. Hewlett-Packard will replace the previous partnership with Beats Audio, beginning this spring. It is still unclear to shareholders if the new partnership will have an impact on sales numbers. Kraft Foods and H.J. Heinz, two of the most iconic names in the nation’s kitchens, said on Wednesday they will merge through a $45 billion deal to create one of the world’s biggest food empires. The transaction was engineered by Warren Buffett, with help from the company that owns Heinz, a Brazilian investment firm 3G Capital. The new company, Kraft Heinz, will be home to long-lasting staples of the family meal, with Heinz’s ketchup alongside Kraft’s Jell-O, Kool-Aid, Oscar Mayer, and its namesake macaroni and cheese. Shares of Ford were down 2% on Wednesday after the automaker announced its latest major vehicle recall. The recall affects more than 221,000 recent models of the company’s ambulance, police and emergency vehicles, to fix a defect that causes their engines to spontaneously shut down and refuse to restart. Ford says so far there have been no reports of accidents or injuries due to the issues at hand. March 27, 2015 Weekly Stock Market Wrap-up: Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) Kraft Foods and Heinz Co. On Monday, crude oil fell below $50 a barrel for the first time since April 2009, prompting a big selloff over concerns that energy industry cuts in capital spending will spread to the rest of the economy. Also hurting markets was an election campaign in Greece that might lead to that country leaving the euro zone. Motor vehicle worldwide sales for December fell 1.7% to 16.9 million units and fell 2.9% to 13.6 million units for North American sales, however, the numbers still are relatively strong. On Tuesday, oil continued to fall, closing below $48 a barrel and markets also continued downward, with the S&P; 500 declining for the fifth straight day. Factory orders for November were down .7%, contracting for the fourth straight month, and the ISM non-manufacturing index fell to 56.2, down from the previous month’s unexpectedly high level of 59.3. On Wednesday, markets finally had a strong rally, helped by no surprising news. The Fed released minutes from their December meeting showing they don’t plan on raising interest rates at least through the first quarter. The ADP employment report for December was up 6.2% to 241,000 new jobs and the trade deficit for November narrowed to $39 billion, due largely to lower oil prices. On Thursday, the market rally continued, with the Dow Industrials closing up 323 points, with investors’ mood bolstered by a stabilization of crude oil prices, as well as news that that European Central Bank might start easing monetary policy as early as the end of January. Jobless claims for the week ending January 8th were down 4,000 to 294,000. On Friday nonfarm payrolls for December were 252,000, down from November’s 353,000, however, the number was well within economists’ expectations. The unemployment rate dropped to 5.6%. On Monday, oil prices declined after Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) cut their 6-month forecast for WTI to $39 a barrel. Aluminum giant Alcoa kicked off earnings season on Monday topping projections with a $6.4 billion revenue. Tuesday was a big day for the labor market; we got the job openings and labor turnover survey report, which is one of the Federal Reserve’s favorite economic indicators. According to the report, US companies had 4.97 million job openings in November, a post-crisis high. Apple (NASDAQ: APPL) was a big contributor early on to the rally, after Credit Suisse (NYSE: CS) upgraded the company to outperform. But after a wild ride on Tuesday stocks gave up early gains and finished in the red. On Wednesday U.S. stocks declined for a fourth straight session as an overnight collapse in the price of copper pushed futures lower, with stocks never able to gain momentum back during the day. December Retail sales posted 0.9 percent loss and investors are worried about global economic growth. Earnings season for big US banks kicked off with reports out of Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) and JP Morgan Chase (NYSE: JPM). Wells Fargo was able to beat Wall Street forecasts with a slightly higher net income. But JPMorgan reported a 7 percent decline in fourth-quarter earnings, which sent the company’s stock down 3.5 percent for the day. JPMorgan Chase, the biggest bank in the U.S. by assets, has been hit pretty hard by legal costs over the past year. On Thursday stocks continued its downturn for a fifth day, with the S&P; finishing below 2,000 for the first time in a month. Citigroup (NYSE: C) and Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) were the latest US banks to report earnings, both companies posted disappointing earnings per share. There was some big news coming out of Switzerland: the Swiss National Bank announced that it would give up its minimum exchange rate, which surprised a lot of central banks and investors. Jobless claims jumped sharply to 316,000, the highest level since September; manufacturing in the New York region climbed to 9.95; PPI fell 0.3 percent, inflation at the producer level continued to decline on lower energy costs. On Friday Industrial production for December slipped 0.1 percent; Consumer price inflation fell 0.4 percent; and Goldman Sachs fell after the investment bank reported a 7 percent decline in profit. On Tuesday after switching direction multiple times during the session, U.S. stocks managed to finish higher in the final hour of trading. A late rise in technology and airline shares gave the markets a lift but the price of WTI crude oil fell as much as 5%. In addition, the market is still digesting the impact of last week's currency action set off by the Swiss National Bank. The IMF cut its outlook for global economic growth for 2015 and 2016, projecting growth of 3.5 percent this year and 3.7 percent for next. The National Association of Home Builders reported solid conditions with the housing market index at 57 in January. On Wednesday stocks continued to rise on Wall Street. The biggest story on Wednesday came from Canada, where the Bank of Canada slashed the main overnight interest rate to 0.75%, a move that sent Canadian stocks higher and the Canadian dollar weaker. In the housing market, we got some good news as Housing Starts climbed 4.4%. Housing activity picked up in December and this time strength was in the single-family component. Markets staged a huge rally on Thursday after the European Central Bank announced it would start a much anticipated quantitative easing program to stave off deflation in the Eurozone. The ECB said on Thursday that starting in March it will purchase $70 billion of bonds per month until September 2016. Earnings season is kicking into high gear, companies like Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV), Delta Airlines (NYSE: DAL), United Health and Union Pacific (NYSE: UNP) all posted upbeat earnings reports, but Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ), Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS), and IBM (NYSE: IBM) were among the others that didn’t perform so well. Next week we will get one of the most watched reports on Wall Street from Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). On Friday U.S. stocks opened mostly lower as investors considered economic data, earnings and energy costs. Existing home sales for August fell 1.8% month over month and are down 5.3% from a year ago, disappointing analysts. Tuesday wasn’t any better with the government announcing a crackdown on the tax-saving mergers known as corporate inversions. In addition, the U.S. launched airstrikes against the Islamic State at various locations in Syria close to the Iraq border. Between geopolitical concerns, and a genuine concern of an overbought market, markets closed strongly down. The only bright spot was the Purchasing Managers Manufacturing Index Flash report for September, showing a continuing strong level of 57.9, with especially strong growth in new business. Finally, on Wednesday, markets rallied, due in part to a much stronger than expected New Home Sales report for August, surging 18% over July, along with the median sales price decreasing 1.6%. On Thursday, the strong market declines resumed as durable goods orders for August fell 18.2% month to month, following a 22.5% spike in July. Jobless claims for the week ending September 20th, were up 12,000 to 293,000. On Friday, the second estimate for the 2nd quarter GDP came in at 4.6%, right at about expectations, and markets rallied strongly on the news. Now let’s take a look at some stocks. Hardest hit were the so called momentum stocks, referring to high-flying popular companies like Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN), Google (NASDAQ: GOOG), Priceline (NASDAQ: PCLN), Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), and Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA). In addition biotechnology companies were affected. Analysts don't seem to think this is the end of the bull market, but rather an adjustment back to stocks with lower prices and better value. On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve released minutes of their March 19 meeting. Policy makers agreed to drop the unemployment target as a condition for raising rates. The minutes reiterated the belief that the Fed will remain very accommodating in its efforts to keep the recovery on track. On Thursday, jobless claims for the week ending April 5th was released at 300,000, a massive 32,000 drop from the prior week. This was the largest drop in more than 10 years and the lowest number since May 2007. China's March exports fell 6.6%, greater than expected, however, it's partly due to regulators removing inflated data in an attempt to make numbers more accurate. On Friday, the Producer Price Index for March rose .5%, much higher than expectations. JPMorgan (NYSE: JPM) also said its first quarter profit fell 19% and revenue fell to $5.2 billion from $6.5 billion compared to a year ago. Markets opened lower on the news. CLICK HERE➡ ➡ http://FinancialBuzz.com Business News - Financial News - Stock News -- New York Stock Exchange -- Market News 2014 Oil dominated the headlines this week, with prices continuing to fall and energy stocks suffering. On Monday, markets were down modestly after profit taking from last weeks’ record setting run-up. On Tuesday, markets initially declined sharply after bad news from both China and Greece. China tightened collateral requirements for some loans, prompting a massive stock selloff, and Greece was facing political challenges that could disrupt its bailout by the European Union. However, by Tuesday afternoon, market losses were mostly eliminated. On Wednesday, OPEC cut its worldwide forecast for crude oil demand, and oil tumbled to a five year low as OPEC made no plans to cut production. On Thursday, retail sales for November came in up .7% month to month and higher than expected. Analysts are attributing the strength in part to lower prices at the gas pump. Oil continued sliding down and dropped below $60 a barrel for the first time since 2009. Jobless claims for the week ending December 6th were 3,000 lower at 294,000, about even with expectations. Markets ended the day up modestly. On Friday, the producer price index for November showed a .2% decline, falling a little further than expectations. Industrial production for November increased 1.3% month to month, its largest increase in 9 months. Capacity utilization increased to 80.1%, the highest since 2008, and up from 79.4%. On Tuesday, the Bank of Russia raised its key interest rate from 10.5% to 17%, due to the decline of the ruble, which was caused by the plunge in oil prices. Housing starts for November fell 1.6%, while building permits also fell 5.2%. On Wednesday, stocks surged the most since 2013, after the Federal Reserve meeting ended and the Fed retained language in its statement that indicated it’s in no rush to raise interest rates. The consumer price index for November was down .3% month to month due to lower gasoline prices. On Tuesday stocks staged a huge rally; investors were able to shake off early negative news from Greece on hopes of a resolution. The latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey report showed slight improvement with over 5 million job openings on the last business day of December, the highest in more than a decade. On Wednesday stocks closed mixed following a very choppy day of trading; investors continued to watch for developments in negotiations between Greece and EU finance ministers. The U.S. budget deficit widened in January, fueled in part by higher spending on health care services for low-income Americans. On Thursday stocks and oil surged with the tech-heavy NASDAQ leading the way for stocks as oil prices bounced back after two straight losing days. A cease-fire agreement between Russia and Ukraine came in early Thursday and sent futures higher. On the economic data front, retail sales declined 0.8%; the weekly jobless claims came in higher at 304,000 last week. On Friday import prices fell 2.8 percent in January alone for year-on-year contraction of 8 percent. Deflation is a rising risk for the economic outlook based on import and export price data where contraction is at its most severe since the 2008 recession. Upbeat economic reports helped keep the rally going after a brief pause early in the week. On Monday the Institute for Supply Management's October manufacturing index rose to 59, tying the reading from last August and the highest since March of 2011. Saudi Arabia announced they will lower prices of oil exported to the United States, and stocks of energy companies like Chevron (NYSE: CVX) and Exxon Mobile (NYSE: XOM) were down on the news. On Tuesday, markets declined slightly as investors waited to see the outcome of the elections. Factory orders for September were down .6%, about in line with expectations, however, September’s trade deficit widened to $43 billion as a weakening global economy reduced demand for American exports. On Wednesday, with the elections out of the way, markets rallied on news of the unexpectedly strong ADP October employment report. It came in at 230,000, up from 225,000. Both the S&P; 500 and Dow Industrials closed at record highs. On Thursday, stocks continued up, boosted by the European Central Bank’s promise to increase stimulus efforts if necessary. Jobless claims for the week ending November 1 were 278,000, down from 287,000 and the four week average was 279,000, a new 14 year low. Once again, both the S&P; 500 and Dow Industrials closed at record highs. On Friday, the Labor Department reported nonfarm payrolls for October were at 214,000 lower than expectations and lower than 248,000 from the prior month. The unemployment rate edged down slightly to 5.8%. Markets were up slightly on the news. Now let’s take a look at some stocks. Alibaba Group Holding Limited (NYSE: BABA) released their first earnings report since debuting on the New York Stock Exchange on September 19th. Not surprising to many, since tapping into the US market, Alibaba reported a surge in revenue of 54%, year-over-year, to $2.74 billion. Alibaba’s mobile revenue increased by more than 1000%, jumping from $54 million to $606 million. Shares traded to a new 52-week high of almost $112 shortly after the report. Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE: TM) shares traded higher Wednesday after the Japanese car company raised its full year forecast due to a stronger than expected performance in their North America market. Originally, Toyota expected net earnings for the year ending March 2015 to be about $15.5 billion, but now they estimate it to be approximately $17.5 billion. Zillow, Inc. (NASDAQ: Z) shares plunged down Thursday, from almost $104 to $95, after the company announced a third quarter loss of $16 million attributed to merger and acquisition costs. Revenue, however, increased by 66% to $88.6 million which exceeded analysts’ forecasts. Tesla Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) reported a third quarter loss of almost $75 million, more than double the loss from the third quarter of the previous year, but shares traded higher due to record orders of their Model S sedan. The widened loss for the quarter was attributed to the research and development costs for Tesla’s SUV, the Model X, and their new all-wheel drive system.

On Monday, Japan surprised the world as it reported a negative GDP growth for the second quarter in a row, thus officially putting the country in a recession. Back in the U.S., industrial production for October was released, falling .1% month to month and lower than expectations of growth of .2%. The Empire State manufacturing survey for November also came in slightly below expectations at 10.16, however, improved from the previous month’s 6.17 level. On Tuesday, a strong investor confidence report from Germany, along with strong European auto sales gave U.S. markets a boost. The producer price index for October was up .2% month to month and the housing market index for November was at 58, up from the prior month’s 54. The Dow Industrials and the S&P; 500 closed at record highs. On Wednesday, the Fed released the minutes of their last meeting at the end of October. There weren’t any surprises, with the bond purchasing program ended, as well as guidance to keep interest rates low for a considerable period. Housing starts for October declined 2.8% from the prior month, but were up 7.8% year over year. On Thursday, the consumer price index for October was unchanged, after declining .1% the prior month. Jobless claims for the week ending November 15 were down slightly at 291,000. Once again the Dow Industrials and the S&P; 500 closed at record highs. CLICK HERE➡ ➡ http://FinancialBuzz.com Business News - Financial News - Stock News -- New York Stock Exchange -- Market News 2014 Hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Trading sessions were fairly quiet this week, on Monday, after wavering on either side of neutral, the Dow did rise to its highest finish and the S&P; not far behind. Small-caps and NASDAQ rallied as well. Investors were hoping that lower gasoline prices will translate into better sales as consumers start shopping for the holiday season. But the U.S. services sector reported a loss of momentum as PMI Services Flash dropped to 56.3 in November On Tuesday stocks finished little changed; the economic reports were mixed, third quarter GDP growth was revised up instead of down, showing the U.S. economy grew 3.9 percent in the third quarter. However, consumer confidence declined to 88.7 in November. On Wednesday we saw a flurry of economic data, starting with durables goods orders, which rebounded 0.4 percent in October after September's decline. Jobless claims spiked 21,000 to 313,000 for the highest level since early September, but there are no special factors to explain away the jump. Personal income grew 0.2 percent in October, an indicator that could bode well for the holiday shopping season. Finally, the National Association of Realtors reported pending home sales fell 1.1 percent in October. All markets were closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving; and on Black Friday, U.S. stocks traded mixed, weighed by lower oil prices following OPEC's announcement that it would not cut its output. Now let’s take a look at some stocks. About 76% of companies reporting results have exceeded analysts’ estimates for profits and 66% have exceeded sales projections. On Monday the pending existing home sales index for June was released, declining 1.1% to 102.7, a bit disappointing. On Tuesday, talk of increasing sanctions against Russia took a toll on the market, keeping the Dow Industrials below 17,000. Also released was the Case-Shiller home price index, actually declining by .3% for May, and welcomed by analysts who think prices need to fall lower in order to increase sales. Consumer confidence for July surged to 90.9, up over 5% from the previous month and much higher than expected. On Wednesday, the 2nd quarter GDP was released and it surprised many, showing an annual growth of 4%, up from the 1st quarter’s 2.1% decline. Inventory growth was the major reason for the strong results. The ADP employment growth report for July came in lower than expected at 218,000 jobs, compared to the previous month’s 281,000. The Federal Reserve also concluded a two day meeting, agreeing to cut their bond purchases by $10 billion to $25 billion monthly. Once again, the Fed reiterated that due to the weak job market, interested rates will remain low for quite some time. On Thursday, a report called the Employment Cost Index showed labor costs rose .7% in the 2nd quarter and it was the largest jump in over 5 years. That raised concerns of inflation. Argentina also missed a deadline to pay $539 million in interest and was declared in default. This was enough to prompt a big selloff, with the Dow Industrials falling over 300 points, or almost 2%. On Friday nonfarm payrolls for July were 209,000, slightly lower than expected and the unemployment rate rose 1/10 of a percent to 6.2%. Personal income for June rose 0.4% and consumer spending also rose 0.4%. Now let’s take a look at some stocks. August 1 , 2014 Weekly Stock Market Wrap up: Twitter, Inc. CLICK HERE➡ ➡ http://FinancialBuzz.com Business News - Financial News - Stock News -- New York Stock Exchange -- Market News 2014 This week was once again very volatile, with the VIX up over 30% compared to month ago levels. On Monday, personal income for August was up by .3% month to month and consumer spending was up .5%, about even with expectations. Pending home sales for August were down 1% month to month, disappointing analysts. On Tuesday, the Case-Shiller home price index for July was down .5% month over month, an extremely steep decline that is expected to boost sagging home sales. On Wednesday, the ADP employment report for September grew slightly more than expected to 213,000 jobs up from the previous month’s 202,000. The Institute for Supply Management released their manufacturing index for September and it fell 2.4 to 56.6, but analysts were not concerned because the recent numbers have been so strong. On Thursday, markets didn’t do much as investors waited for Friday’s payroll report. Jobless claims for the week ending September 27 were 287,000, a reduction of 8,000 compared to last week. On Friday, the much awaited nonfarm payroll report for September was released showing an unexpectedly high increase in jobs of 248,000. While the unemployment rate fell to 5.9%. On Tuesday, the Empire State manufacturing survey showed the New York region factory activity slowing sharply for February, coming in at 4.48, down from 12.5 in January, but the market didn't do much as everyone was waiting for the Fed's January minutes to be released Wednesday. Ultimately, the minutes showed a few members of the Fed anticipating the need to raise interest rates as soon as the middle of the year, along with a willingness to ignore recent poor payroll reports as a by-product of the bad weather. They also discussed changing the way the Fed keeps everyone informed, also known as forward guidance, due to the fact that the current unemployment rate of 6.6% is close to the Fed target rate of 6.5%. Also Wednesday, January housing statistics were released, and they were much lower than expected at 880,000 units, once again, due to weather. On Thursday, jobless claims ending February 15 fell 3,000 to 336,000, right at about expectations. And the Consumer Price Index for January increased .1% month to month, also at expectations. Also on Thursday, the Purchasing Manager's Index Flash report for February came in at 56.7, showing strong growth over last month's 53.7. Markets rallied enthusiastically on the news. The Food Studies program (http://www.newschool.edu/ce/foodstudies) at The New School presents The Future of Food. A mayor who understands the importance of food is critical to achieving a healthier, fairer, more sustainable, and economically stronger food system. Several of New York City's leading food systems organizations and institutions are convening a mayoral candidate forum on the future of food in New York City moderated by Marion Nestle, award-winning author and Paulette Goddard Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at New York University. 2013 New York City Mayoral Candidates: - Sal Albanese, Former NYC Council Member - John Catsimatidis, Owner and Chairman, Gristedes Foods - Bill de Blasio, NYC Public Advocate - John Liu, NYC Comptroller - Christine Quinn, Speaker, NYC Council - Anthony Weiner, Former New York Congressman The Food Studies program at The New School draws on a range of disciplines to explore the connections between food and the environment, politics, history, and culture. Food Studies at The New School | http://www.newschool.edu/ce/foodstudies New Yorkers' awareness of every aspect of the food system has never been greater and, in the past decade, significant progress has been made in improving it. But we know that much more must be done. This year is an important election year for food. Now, perhaps like never before, there is immense momentum across the city to address the most pressing food system issues. Citizens, not-for-profit organizations, local businesses, foundations, and government in recent years have worked to address hunger, improve public health, support regional agriculture, and make the food system fairer. This election is an opportunity to reflect on the progress we've made, but also to recognize what is left undone. School of Undergraduate Studies | http://www.newschool.edu/public-engagement/undergraduate-studies The forum will offer our city's and our region's food communities -- the opportunity to come together and engage mayoral candidates, learn their positions on food issues, and inspire them with a vision for a better food system. Sponsored by The Food Studies Program at The New School for Public Engagement, Brooklyn Food Coalition, City Harvest, Food Bank for New York City, Food Chain Workers Alliance, Food Systems Network NYC, Hunger Action Network NYS, Just Food, New York City Coalition Against Hunger, New York City Food Policy Center at Hunter College and NRDC Action Fund. The Harvard i-lab sponsored a faculty-led Winter Break trip to New York City for 37 students from across Harvard University. The trip focused on cultural entrepreneurship in NYC: new ventures in fashion, food, fine arts, performing arts, music, video entertainment, literary fiction, etc. Harvard students explored how new ventures in the creative arts are launched, and how proximity to NYC's rich ecosystem of established companies, investors, and supporting organizations (e.g., universities, foundations, trade press, industry associations) influences the ventures' evolution.

The New York City's Department of Records co-hosts an evening celebrating the city's cultural heritage. A group based right here in New York is taking the lime light--Shen Yun Performing Arts. The dance and music company specializes in promoting and reviving traditional Chinese culture. The link between this ancient culture and New York's Department of Records may be stronger than you would think. Deputy Commissioner Eileen Flannely explains. [Eileen Flannelly, Deputy Commissioner, NYC Dept. of Records]: "There in our collections there is material from everywhere. And as you can imagine, the Chinese have had a huge influence in this city, with the culture, with their trainings, teachings. So when Shen Yun sent me a letter saying would you like to do a tea ceremony, we got together and we started to chat and we said, you know there is so much more than just a tea ceremony that you can do here." Wednesday's event was complete with a fashion show showcasing award-winning pieces of clothing from NTD's Han Couture Design Competition and a presentation about Shen Yun Performing Arts and how they are reviving China's ancient traditions. [Jean Mitchell, VP Media Relations, Shen Yun Promotions International]: "Tonight they are highlighting their records in New York city, of the Chinese ethnic people here. So this gave us a great opportunity -as you know the Chinese New Year is February 10th- to promote Shen Yun Performing Arts, which is rooted in traditional Chinese culture." [Randall Berman, COO, Continental Food and Beverage, Inc]: "I think It's been an excellent presentation here this evening, the tea ceremony was done extremely well, so I very much enjoyed that." After the presentation about Shen Yun, Randall Berman says he is not going to miss their show in New York this year. [Randall Berman, COO, Continental Food and Beverage, Inc]: "I plan on going online early. Because I know that it does sell out, so I want to get my tickets early." The New York Department of Records is now displaying the Chinese components of their collection at their building on Chambers Street in Manhattan. Shen Yun will be playing 11 shows in at New York City's Lincoln Center from April 20th through the 28th.

Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple. We try our best to cover all of the top attractions including fine arts, entertainment, festivals, dining, architecture and museums as well as focusing on lesser known off the beaten path attractions to cover all forms of tourism. If you only have time to visit only one city in the United States it ought to be NYC, USA: http://nomadicsamuel.com/photo-essays/50-things-to-do-in-new-york-city 50 Things to do in New York City Top Attractions Travel Guide: 1 Grand Central Terminal 2 The High Line 3 Meatpacking District 4 Greenwich Village 5 Brooklyn Bridge 6 Williamsburg 7 Street Art in Williamsburg 8 Prospect Park 9 Dumbo 10 New York Style Pizza 11 Bryant Park 12 New York Public Library 13 Staten Island Ferry 14 Statue of Liberty 15 Battery Park 16 Little Italy 17 Little Korea 18 Chinatown 19 Coney Island 20 Mermaid Parade 21 The Cloisters 22 Harlem's Apollo Theatre 23 Soul Food in Harlem at Sylvia's 24 World Trade Center Memorial 25 Trinity Church 26 Wall Street 27 Lincoln Center 28 Ride a Bicycle 29 Watch a New York Yankees baseball game at Yankee Stadium 30 MET Museum (Metropolitan Museum of Art) 31 Flatiron Building 32 Washington Square Park 33 NYU (New York University) 34 National Museum of the American Indian 35 Museum of Natural History 36 Times Square 37 MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) 38 Roosevelt Island Tramway 39 Fifth Avenue Shopping 40 Rockefeller Center 41 Empire State Building 42 Carnegie Hall 43 Central Park 44 Strawberry Fields 45 Street Food 46 Catch a Broadway Theatre Performance 47 Madison Square Garden 48 African Burial Ground 49 Columbus Circle 50 Take the Subway Metro Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town. You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. You can ride roller coasters, stroll down the boardwalk, enjoy some beach time, and then head over the Nathan's Famous hot dogs. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. Strawberry Fields is a section of Central Park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon. And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. From the 2014 Velocity Conference in New York City, Mikey Dickerson's keynote: "One Year After healthcare.gov: Where Are We Now?" healthcare.gov, possibly the most closely watched government IT project of all time, launched to intense media scrutiny on October 1, 2013…and spectacularly fell on its face. The next six months would be a watershed in the federal government, as a trillion-dollar agency came to grips with the fact that there was no product to buy, and no check they could write, to deliver a working website. Yet the site did eventually become functional, helped by what Time Magazine described as “a team of unknown coders and troubleshooters who dropped what they were doing in various enterprises across the country and came together in mid-October.” As best as we can in 25 minutes, we’ll catch you up on the legacy of healthcare.gov, the current state of the art in federal government technology, what has become of those formerly-unknown engineers, and what these all have to do with each other. Mikey Dickerson (Federal Government | United States Digital Services Team): Mikey Dickerson worked in Site Reliability Engineering at Google from 2006 to 2014, modulo side trips to work on the Obama campaigns in 2008 and 2012. In 2013 he took one more leave of absence to join what became known as the “ad hoc” team that rescued healthcare.gov after its disastrous launch on October 1. He has been on a baffling through-the-looking-glass adventure ever since, including a move in August 2014 to become the Administrator of the newly created United States Digital Service. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live, full length MLB game when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. The Braves, who had won the last three games of the NLCS by a combined score of 32–1, continued their roll early in the Fall Classic. In the second inning of Game 1, rookie center fielder Andruw Jones became the youngest player, 19, in World Series history to hit a home run. He went deep to left again off Brian Boehringer during a six-run third inning for the Braves. Jones surpassed Yankee great Mickey Mantle on what would have been Mantle's 65th birthday (Mantle died in 1995). Also during Game 1, Andruw Jones became only the second player in World Series history (after Gene Tenace in 1972), and youngest ever, to hit a home run his first two times up in a Series. A Fred McGriff home run off the foul pole in the fifth left Atlanta ahead 9–0. Jones had his third hit and scored in Atlanta's three-run sixth. Braves starter John Smoltz would pitch six easy innings before turning it over to the bullpen in Atlanta's 12–1 rout, while Yankees starter Andy Pettitte did not last a full three innings

A trio of Marlins pitchers managed to keep the Yankees in check. Brad Penny, Dontrelle Willis, and Ugueth Urbina held New York to two runs. Juan Pierre scored Florida's first run and drove in the other two. The Yankees scored their runs on a single by Derek Jeter and a solo home run by Bernie Williams, the eighteenth postseason home run of his career, tying a mark shared by Reggie Jackson and Mickey Mantle. Urbina ran into immediate trouble in the ninth, walking Jason Giambi to lead off the inning and, one out later, walking pinch-hitter Rubén Sierra to put pinch-runner David Dellucci in scoring position. However, Alfonso Soriano was called out looking on a 3–2 pitch and Nick Johnson flied out to center to end the game. David Wells pitched seven solid innings for New York in a losing effort. The defeat marked the first Yankees loss of a home World Series contest since Game 2 of the 1996 World Series.
Derek Jeter gets the game winning walk off hit in his final game at Yankee Stadium as the New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles. Jeter went 2 for 5 with 3 RBI's and a run scored. Derek Jeter final game highlights.
One of the greatest WS games of all time. This was broadcast on the MLB Channel. The footage was "lost" for 50 years before someone found it among the personal archives of the legendary singer, Bing Crosby. Bing was a part owner of the Pirates and he hired someone to shoot a 'kinescope' film of this game while he was in France. He reportedly was too nervous to watch the game in person, so he had a film made of it for him to watch later. No official videotape was made of this game altho it was televised, so the public had never seen this game since it was played in 1960. It was debuted in public before a live audience in Pittsburgh in 2010. Bob Costas hosted this showing and on the 'panel' with him on stage were 3 of the players in this game: Bobby Richardson of the Yanks and Dick Groat and Bill Virdon of the champion Pirates. Among the audience were Franco Harris, Hal Smith, who hit a key 3-run HR late in the game for the Pirates, the widow of Roberto Clemente, who also of course played in this game, as well as other members of the 1960 Pirates. Bill Mazeroski also was asked to attend, but he couldnt make it (I believe he was ill), but there is recorded footage of an interview with him at the end. The broadcast was paused several times for Costas to speak with the players about what happened in the game and also with Ms. Clemente about her husband. It was a great presentation. This is the latter part of the game, beginning in the top of the 7th inning. New York has overcome an early 4-0 deficit to go ahead 5-4. Most of the scoring occurred in the last 2 innings. Besides Mazeroski's historic series-ending HR, the game features an unusual play that I've never seen before in all my years of watching baseball. In the top of the 9th, the Yankees rallied to tie the score at 9-9 after Pittsburgh had gone ahead 9-7. The game-tying play occurred with runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out and Yogi Berra at the plate. He hit a hard smash to first which was snagged by the 1Bman, Rocky Nelson, right after it hit the ground. The runner on first, Mickey Mantle, evidently thought the ball was caught on the fly and he dove back to first to avoid being doubled up. In fielding the ball, Nelson's momentum carried him right towards the bag, which he tagged to record the out on Berra. Mantle somehow avoided Nelson's attempt to tag him out getting back and he made it back to 1B safely. On the play, the runner on 3B, Gil McDougald, scored the tying run. The play is unusual because the ball was a fielder's choice ground ball where the batter was out at 1B but the runner on 1B neither was out nor advanced to 2B. Never seen anything like it. Mazeroski's HR came on came on the 2nd pitch leading off the bottom of the 9th. Final score: 10-9. Another unusual aspect of the game is that there were no strikeouts at all. This series was also very unusual in that Pittsburgh was outscored by the Yanks 55-27, yet won the series. Still another unusual aspect: Bobby Richardson was the series MVP, I believe the only time a WS MVP was selected from the losing team.

The highest rated sports franchise over the last 8 years is back with new ways to play, more realistic gameplay physics and the most authentic MLB gameplay experience ever. From the booth to the field, MLB 14 The Show captures the most exciting moments in baseball. Welcome to the Show. Key Features: Year-to-Year Saves - For the first time in franchise history, saves can be carried over from MLB 14 to future releases of The Show, meaning that gamers won't have to worry about starting their Franchise or Road to the Show seasons over in years to come. Player Lock - The new Player Lock feature (a.k.a RTTS anywhere) gives users the ability to lock-on to any single player and enter games using the Road to the Show gameplay mechanic, allowing for faster games and more focused on-field action. Quick Counts - Users will now be able to play a full nine-inning game in less than 30 minutes, half the time it takes in previous iterations of The Show. Despite the shortened game durations, realistic stats will not be compromised. Universal Profile - A new tendency-tracking system monitors and records gamers' unique playing styles. Those patterns are stored in the Universal Profile, which can be viewed by anyone looking to get a quick scouting report on the player. The Universal Profile can also be subbed in in place of a CPU opponent in Diamond Dynasty and Online Franchise, making for more realistic head-to-head matchups when schedules prevent synchronous play. Community Challenges - Players will be able to freely toy and tinker with game situations and scenarios on the fly, whether that's the inning, score, who's on base, or where the ball is hit. These custom situations can be bundled with a creative set of goals and put forth as a challenge to the community, whether it's to relive the past, change history, or dream of new possibilities. Online Franchise - Finally, Franchise mode can be shared with friends online, with most of the features from the offline version making the transition, including Scouting, the Amateur Draft, Free Agency and CPU Trades. The mode will remain highly customizable as scheduling, divisions, postseason spots and more are all commissioner options. Stubs - Playing games in MLB 14 The Show rewards players with Stubs. Stubs can be used to purchase additional in-game content - like Road to the Show training points - or used in our new mode, Community Challenges. Stubs can be earned in any mode, and they are not required to progress through a mode. You can still purchase additional in-game content through the PlayStation Store. Diamond Dynasty Extra Innings - In this mode, a player's team is always looking for opportunities to challenge other users in an offline setting, which allows the user to earn bonus rewards the next time they log in. When online, the player has the opportunity to challenge other user-created teams in an offline game where the CPU controls their team. Players can only benefit positively in this mode even if their team does not perform up to their normal standards. ► SUBSCRIBE for Uploads Daily here: http://bit.ly/1bf4i8Q ► Watch my NBA 2k14 My Career Series: http://goo.gl/P1goXv ► Watch my NBA 2k14 My GM Series: http://goo.gl/onVloA ► Watch NEXT GEN Madden 25 here: http://bit.ly/JILSXP ► Watch MLB The Show 14 Series: http://goo.gl/Ezp2fG ................................................................................................ Here are some Things to do in NYC :) This 1st of a "Things to do in NYC" is the BASICS. I will do more in depth videos on neighborhoods like Harlem, Brooklyn, Lower East Side which will include shopping, entertainment, eating, all that :) But for now I hope you find this helpful and excited about exploring NYC. I didn't "forget" to list anything. This is just the first video and trust their are a million things to do. Sorry for not including Brooklyn. I rarely go out there and didn't have footage to include in this video. But here goes! As for the things I listed check them out here: Statue of Liberty, is located on Ellis Island. It's since been reopened http://www.statuecruises.com/choose_tickets.aspx Central Park is cliche and a MUST! Check out the Boat House this summer and rent a paddle boat for $12/hr. Cash only and a $20 deposit is required http://www.thecentralparkboathouse.com Magnolia Bakery has an amazing to die for Banana Pudding that used to be so secret which is now another MUST HAVE while in town http://www.magnoliabakery.com Katz Deli is a historical landmark that happens to be famous for their sandwiches. Try the pastrami if you're into that...I'm not :/ Yes this is a tourist destination but it's a part of NYC's history hence a MUST! http://katzsdelicatessen.com Patricia Field is a NYC fashion fixture! Made famous for her costume designing in The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City: the Movie and sequel, her boutique is another MUST. I love playing dressup here and splurging on accessories! http://www.patriciafield.com Need to get around? Rent a bike! I have yet to try this but it seems fabulous! Save your feet and cover more ground. These bikes and bike spots are all over the city. A perfect way to burn calories and see more of the city faster. http://citibikenyc.com Caracas! This happens to be a fav spot of mine! It's uber small and the lines can be long but I love the food. Yes it's fried and oh so good! I've never had an Arepa until I came here and the prices are perfect for us budget minded peeps Try it! just read their yelp reviews! http://www.yelp.com/biz/caracas-arepa-bar-new-york http://www.caracasarepabar.com Summer in NYC isn't really summer until you get your butt on a rooftop. My pick was Jimmy Rooftop. Sunday's after 3pm are bomb! Amazing music courtesy of DJ Cato. I believe it is doorman discretion, which means, dress your best and don't travel with a bunch of dudes. You get an amazing view of the sun setting over the Hudson River and you get to splash around in the pool if you so choose. I chose this spot because I used to work here and loved it! http://www.jameshotels.com/new-york/eat-drink/jimmy/ Yes! Go to Church! After you party it up Saturday night or Sunday afternoon bring your sinful behind to this awesome church! You don't have to be religious to attend. This is a non-denominal church and people from all over the world come here for the amazing sermons and not to mention the interior. This Church is a converted theatre and a must see. Now go and pray! http://www.tscnyc.org My spot! We in my hood now. You MUST go to Orange Beauty Supply! I used to buy all my hair products here when I had hair and you def need to buy a wig here. I take all my gurls here and hook them up with a fabulous synthetic or human hair wig just cause! Apollo!!! You MUST go here on amateur night! It's historical! You either boo or cheer for the talent on stage. You must have an opinion! Quiet indifference is not tolerated :) A real life YouTube comment board in live action! I've been here countless times and it's a great way to get the energy up! http://www.apollotheater.org --------------------------------- WATCH THESE VIDEOS: Meet my Mom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hS-VVNWuOFE What is Fear? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XViZu61CyAw --------------------------------- Follow me: http://facebook.com/shamelessmaya http://shamelessmaya.com http://twitter.com/mayasworld instagram @mayasworld http://shamelessmaya.tumblr.com --------------------------------- Dope beats by: Jay Ellyiot http://jayellyiotmusic.com http://jayellyiot.tumblr.com https://soundcloud.com/jayellyiot https://www.facebook.com/JayEllyiot --------------------------------- Filmed and edited by your Shamelessness :) Geek Info: http://astore.amazon.com/shamelessmaya-20 camera: Canon 7D audio: H4n Zoom Mic lighting: Ring light editing: Final Cut Pro X things to do in NYC, tourism NYC, nyc spots

http://bookinghunter.com New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. The most important places to visit in New York are: Brooklyn Bridge (built in 1883, it is one of the oldest suspension bridges in America and continues to inspire the people of New York City), Wall Street (the bull here makes everyone happy. See where billions are won or lost in seconds), Central Park (one of the world's greatest urban parks. Get involved in an outdoor activity or watch New Yorkers go about their exercise routines), Empire State Building (an American icon, which was built remarkably during the Great Depression. Ride to the top for unmatched city views), Times Square (best experienced at night. First time visitors are simply in awe amidst the bright neon lights), Statue of Liberty (this is one landmark you must visit. The ultimate symbol of New York City). If you want to save time and money, the most important New York travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. Travel video about destination New York in the United States of America. New York is capital city of the American Dream, with its population drawn from each corner of the world. The Empire State Building is a symbol of the glamour and fascination of this frenetic city, yet the Chrysler building is just as imposing, its unusual tower being decorated with car motifs such as bonnets, hub caps and car wheels of the 1930‘s. Wall Street derived its name from a wall which had been erected to protect the emerging town from attack by Native American Indians and now most of the city is an open powerhouse of ceaseless activity with a constant mêlée of car horns, sirens, and screeching tyres.Greenwich Village is one of the few areas of the city that has no clearly-defined symmetry. Attractive steps grace many of its 19th century houses of red brick and brown sandstone and, until the 1960‘s, many important artists and authors lived there, such as Edgar Allen Poe and Henry James. Little Italy, Chinatown, The Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, Broadway, Times Square…each has its own colourful stories to tell amid the fantastic man-made Manhattan glass horizons: the skyscrapers which shamelessly reach up to the heavens and exclaim that New York is most assuredly the commercial capital of the universe.

http://www.expedia.com/Central-Park.d6056463.Destination-Travel-Guides New York City’s Central Park, which is made up of lakes, gardens, and meadows, spans more than 50 blocks. It was originally envisioned as a space where anyone – no matter what their station in life – could meditate and interact. These days, America’s most famous urban center hosts over 30 million visitors per year. You’ll find a multitude of things to do if you’re sightseeing in Central Park. Sit down for a picnic on the Great Lawn, or wander through the park’s bridges and pathways, looking for its many sculptures. If you know where to look, you’ll find Hans Christian Andersen and Balto the sled dog. Traveling with a loved one? Why not share a kiss at the Bethesda Fountain and Terrace? Alternatively, you can rent a boat from Loeb Boathouse and attempt to impress your sweetheart with a trip around the lake. If you’re a fan of Shakespeare’s plays, your Central Park tour must pause at the Shakespeare Garden, which features the flora and fauna mentioned in his works. Beatles fans, don’t forget to pay homage at the Strawberry Fields Memorial, a 2.5-acre section of the park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon. It’s safe to say that there’s something in Central Park for just about everyone. Whether you’re sending a remote-controlled boat across the Conservatory Waters or admiring the view from Belvedere Castle, you’ll find a number of wonderful ways to spend your day. What’s your favorite part of Central Park? If you want to taste the cultural diversity of New York, no visit is complete without a trip to Chinatown. That's why the Universal Road Trippers consisting of IFBB Pro Antoine Vaillant, Leanna Carr, Nat Paul, Universal's own Gary "G-Six" Turner, and special guest Josh Landry, take the subway to get a quick meal in. The only question is, how adventurous are they? Will they order General Tso's Chicken or pig feet soup at the Great N.Y. Noodletown (visited by Andrew Zimmern)? Afterwards, the team heads to another Vitamin Shoppe (#423) at 655 6th Avenue for a fun store demo. After mingling with the fans, the Road Trippers get a superb workout in at Mid City Gym on 42nd Street. After training, there's eating. So after a quick bite at Eva's Health Food, the guys and gal dress up in their Halloween finest for a walk through the Village in the 41st annual Halloween Parade. The parade runs along 6th Avenue from Spring to 16th streets. This is a legendary event and you won't want to miss it! You certainly won't miss the Red Man... This segment of a program, hosted by Andy Rooney, examines the bizarre love-hate relationship that residents and tourists feel towards New York City. Highlights and topics discussed include the following: the troubles people have getting on and off the island of Manhattan; why entering Manhattan via one of the bridges costs money while leaving the island costs nothing; why the city is best known for its appearance rather than its substance; how residents seem to blend into the city as time goes by, while tourists remain easily identifiable; how the beauty of the city is sometimes hidden in remote yet obvious places; the fabulous places in which you can live -- provided you have the funds; the way Central Park is an essential space in a city full of tall, ominous buildings; how the unpredictable weather does not appear to phase anybody; why times of trouble produce an unbreakable and unchallenged camaraderie among New Yorkers; how the rich and the poor cross paths everyday without expressing much envy or sympathy; how fashions and trends seem to arrive in the city before reaching the rest of the country; and why people persevere through overabundant low periods of life in the city compared to the rare high moments. ("In Praise of New York" originally aired on February 1, 1974, at 9:00 PM EST, as part of an hour-long documentary special entitled "New York, New York." The special featured the Rooney piece and a segment by Warren Wallace called "To Hell with New York." This copy of "In Praise of New York" is from a 1976 repeat telecast of "New York, New York.")

noodls 2015-04-10New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. The city is referred to as New York City or The City of New York to distinguish it from the State of New York, of which it is a part. As a global power city, New York exerts a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural capital of the world.
Located on one of the world's largest natural harbors, New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which comprises a state county. The five boroughs—The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island—were consolidated into a single city in 1898. With a Census-estimated 2011 population of 8,244,910 distributed over a land area of just 305 square miles (790 km2), New York is the most densely populated major city in the United States. As many as 800 languages are spoken in New York, making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world. The New York City Metropolitan Area's population is the United States' largest, with 18.9 million people distributed over 6,720 square miles (17,400 km2), and is also part of the most populous combined statistical area in the United States, containing 22.1 million people as of the 2010 Census.
If you've ever been to New York City,
You know what I'm talking about,
Yes you do.
Well, if you've ever been to New York City,
You know what I'm talking about,
They got such pretty little girls in that big town,
Make a man wanna jump around and shout.
I met a little girl there,
She was about five foot eight.
I said "I want you to love me."
She said "Why man, that'd be great."
I got long hair but,
She took me back,
Back to see her pad,
But the first thing I saw when I arrived there,
Was a big black shiny shotgun,
In the hands of her dad.
Alright now, this is how it was,
Oh no!
Well alright!
I finally learned my lesson,
Such a long time ago,
Next little woman that I date,
I've got to know, I've got to know her family too.
Yes indeed, I gotta know her family too.
But if you don't want to be filled full of shotgun holes,
das kostet soviel zeit
ich bin lieber zu zweit
so kommst du nicht davon
alle weit und breit
sind dazu bereit
nicht ich napoleon
i want out
i want out
alles mit angesehen
ich kann ja viel verstehen
aber nicht in diesem ton
einer von uns muss gehen
den spiess umdrehen
adieu napoleon
i want out
i want out
mmmmh mmhhh mhhh...!
New york city, you're so pretty
All your faces, going places
And i believe if you fall in love
I believe if you fall in love
You should jump right in
Always going, faster modem
Cell phone fables, candle-lit tables
I believe if you fall in love
Yes, i believe if you fall in love
You should jump right in
I wrote our initials in the sidewalk cement
Tattooed your name across my arm for all to see
I wanna sing about it, sing about it, sing about it
I've got your back from now on baby, you can count on me
Only one life, kisses all night
Kids round fountains, concrete mountains
And i believe if you fall in love
I believe if you fall in love
Can you say New York City?
Can you say L-O-X?
Can you say New York City?
L-O-X, L-O-X, L-O-X, L-O-X
Came slinging, chaining, gang banging
20 some years, nigga your name's ringing
And just look at the ratio
The lames are winning
I still get... from the same women
That real underground shit
That they ain't spinning
If he wasn't born with it?
Did you send in it?
Looks like some life fool
But it ain't dinner
And it get you light... light painted
Only time when I ain't with you
I ain't in her
You're a fucking looser
I'm a straight winner
... you could clean the money out
But the work is dirty
Big, big champagne and I'm wet
Take this party 'till you sweat
You get money you won't forget
Big, big champagne and I'm wet
Take this party 'till you sweat
You get money you won't forget
Little young nigga, golden chain
He thinks he can fly
Passengers seats, fats have the GCI
I'm trying to catch the movie at Big Plaza
... we got home good
It's real
Straight bullets pop off in the hood
... yeah, we want shiny suits
But that puts us in a new tax bracket
Now I'm looking through my Gucci glasses
Throwing dollar bills and my strippers are dancing
I love their asses
But your shoe is hanging down to the ground
The streets really know who is holding the crown, dog
Big, big champagne and I'm wet
Take this party 'till you sweat
You get money you won't forget
Big, big champagne and I'm wet
Take this party 'till you sweat
You get money you won't forget
... Always pissy, call hearts and hippies
... say you wanna smoke
Better light up the sticky
I keep the sour kiss, keep the piffie
Don't drink the liquor
We rap for the whole city
Women and lights and the cars are so pretty
You see me now holding keys
It makes so natural
Disappearing with your bitch in a Porsche Boxer
You wanna be the next Jimmie Harver
Acting like a bitch
Damn, where is the Oscar, nigga?
Big, big champagne and I'm wet
Take this party 'till you sweat
You get money you won't forget
Big, big champagne and I'm wet
Take this party 'till you sweat
You get money you won't forget
Can you say New York City?
Can you say New York City?
Can you say New York City?
Can you say L-O-X?
Can you say L-O-X?
Can you say L-O-X?
Can you say L-O-X?
On the beat
remember learning how to make a quick hundred bucks
Sleeping in the back of a pickup truck
I remember looking through the barrel of a loaded gun
Texas cops and cooking drugs
But look at us in New York City
Everybody's listening to me.
Here we are in New York City
Rock and roll in New York City
I remember begging my best friend for my life
He cut me and his wife with a pocket knife
I remember getting picked up for a petty crime
And getting locked up for holding a gun
But look at us in New York City
Everybody's listening to me.
Here we are in New York City
1st verse
Through the night I gambled
I played a real cool hand
People still remember
They say "There goes that man"
"Who always found four aces"
Lady luck was mine
'Cos I fought and won life's battles
and I made it just in time
2nd verse
"Come on make up the number"
That's all they had to say
"We'll take him for a ride"
It made me wanna stay
Well I taught them a lesson
To stop them foolin' round
The crowd, they really gathered
To see me break 'em down
Chorus
New York city, she's a friend of mine
New York city, she's a friend of mine
People think I cheat and lie
But I don't really care
'Cos in New York city now
People never stare
Well I taught them a lesson
To stop them foolin' round
The crowd, they really gathered
To see me break 'em down
(New York, New York, New York, New York)
(New York, New York, New York, New York)

Did you ever see a woman
Coming out of New York City
With a frog in her hand
Did you ever see a woman
Coming out of New York City
With a frog in her hand
I did don`t you know (x3)
Did you ever see a woman
Coming out of New York City
With a frog in her hand
Did you ever see a woman
Coming out of New York City
With a frog in her hand
I did don't you know (x3)
I saw you in the crowd
near the shopping mall
down on "learpord" boulevard
And you, you are not alone.
You were so cute and nice,
I have problems to discribe.
So i stop to think about
Where we going on from here
So I'm gonna talk to you,
you smiled year
Refrain
I got two tickets to New York City,
come with me you look so pretty.
I take you down to Abercrombie,
later we gonna have a Zombie
I got two tickets to New York City,
come with me you look so pretty.
Check out the clocks in central station,
meet Rockefeller, proof the nation.
I know it sounds obscured,
perhaps to little bit pervers,
but I'm sure you understand me now.
So you, you thought to france on me,
making up your mind,
about the street,
suggestion
So I stop to think about
Where we going on from here
So I'm gonna talk to you,

Refrain
I got two tickets to New York City,

Check out the clocks in central station,

I got two tickets to New York City,

I take you down to Abercrombie,
later we gonna have a Zombie
I got two tickets to New York City,

Check out the clocks in central station,
New York City ... here we come
New York City ... just for fun
New York City ... Broadway lights
New York City ... Oh Baby, funny nights
New York City ... here we come
New York City ... just for fun

New York City ... Mmmh Baby, funny nights
New York City ... here we come
New York City ... just for fun
New York City ... Broadway lights
When my heart is torn apart
by love I wish I had,
Well, I spend my nights in the city's lights
and things don't seem so bad.
Ya know the movement seems to soothe me,
and the temp takes control,
and I lose my blues
when the Ne w York City rhythm fill my soul
it's the New York City rhythm
runnin' thru' my life,
the pounding beat of the city streets
that keeps mydreams alive.
I'm lost, I'm found, I'm up, I'm down,
but somehow I survive.
It's got to be the New York City
rhythm in my life,
It's got to be the New York City
rhythm in my life, in my life.
When I'm out for love or sin,
Oh, it's good to be in town,
In the funky dives on the old west sid
there's always somethin' goin' down.
Oh yes , I live my life with strangers,
and the danger's always there,
but when I hit Broadway and it's time to play,
ya know that I don't care

Its the rythmn of the rain that falls
Its a cab ride at five a.m.
Manhattan goddess with your Levis and curls
New York City I'm coming home again
I sit and smile think about summer sundays and the roller skates
And their wigs and rainbow socks float past like a ballet
Peanut rosters poppin' up on every corner can't you taste that taste
Makes me long for an early morning ride on the subway
Its the rythmn of the rain that falls
Its a cab ride at five a.m.

New York City I'm coming home again
You can steal a line on a phrase and wreck a company on cheer
Sign you off make you an artist make you a millionaire
Shake your hand pat your back give you a big white smile
Then they'll say that they're your biggest fans and share the love you star

I saw a rainbow stretched across the ocean
Crashed the Big Apple
So I took a bite
Found a taste I like
But she bit me back
I jumped across the ocean
Found a Big Apple
So I took a bite
She teased me with a taste
Laid my soul to waste
Stabbed me in the back
Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ
I ain't never coming back, no
Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ
I ain't never coming back, child
Pressure never stops
Pressure never drops
Lennon got fried
Said it was a crime
Said it was a pity
No one even cried
Pressure never stops
Pressure never drops
Lennon got fried
Said it was a crime
Said it was a pity
No one even cried, cried, cried
Oh, Hell's Kitchen is a crazy place
I ain't never coming back, oh no no
Hell's Kitchen is a crazy place
I ain't never coming back
Oh, New York City
Oh, New York City, yeah, yeah
New York City, yeah
Oh, New York City, well, well
Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ
I'm never coming back, no
Disneyland, trash can baby, yeah
It'll give you a heart attack
The Times Square shuffle, Manhattan flip
Twenty four hour groove
Working up a frenzy baby
People push on through, yeah
Listen boy
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I jumped across the ocean
Found a Big Apple
So I took a bite
She teased me with a taste
Laid my soul to waste
Stabbed me in the back
Hell's Kitchen is a crazy place
I'm never coming back, no no no
Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ
I ain't never, never, yeah
Oh, New York City
Wake up, yeah, in the New York City
Well, New York City, yeah, yeah
New York City
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Shake it up, do it now
Shake it up, bells ringing
I'm shooting on the hip now
I'm shooting on the hip now, baby
I'm shooting on the hip now
Did you ever see a woman
Coming out of New York City
With a frog in her hand
Did you ever see a woman
Coming out of New York City
With a frog in her hand
I did don't you know (x3)
And don't it show
It’s whatever with whoever
Always whatever with whoever
That’s how I’m on it all day, every day
That’s how I’m on it all day, every day
We can do a whatever whenever
We can do a whatever whenever
That’s how I’m on it all day, every day
That’s how I’m on it all day, every day
[Verse 1: Uncle Murda]
I got my city feeling like it’s '95
Feeling good, like in before Biggie died
On Twitter Nas wrote I give him a Biggie vibe
I retweeted that shit like 50 times
I see rappers trying to get their buzz back
Beef with DJs like
"Damn where the love at?"
The DJ like "Homie where the hits at?"
That shit you sent me was whack
I can’t spin that
Instead of making better music
N-ggas get offended
Then jump on a south beat
Cause the south winning
Then they get mad when they don't pop, yo
Like "That shit would’ve worked if I was Rocko"
Or "That shit would’ve worked if I was 2Chainz"
It would've, but you're not Rocko or 2Chainz
You a New York n-gga homie
That’s that
Now let’s get back to that boom bap
[Hook]
New York City
This the way that we rock
Let’s get back on our shit
New York City
This the way that we rock
Let’s get back on our shit
Uh-La la la la la la la la la la
Uh-La la la la la la la la la la
New York
[Verse 2: Uncle Murda]
Ain’t no place like home
But the radio got me thinking
I’m in the A
But when I go to the A
It feel like I’m in the A
New York n-ggas don’t be getting no radio play
Somebody saying "What the f-ck did that n-gga just say?"
Only New York n-gga they play outta town is Jay
That be sounding like that real New York City
All that same old bounce shit
Be making me nauseous
New York, I don’t know when it happened
But we went from setting the trends
To copy catting
It’s like we losing our identity
I hope n-ggas is feeding off of my energy
We need a new DMX
Not a new Waka Flocka
I’m talking that shit like
When B.I.G dropped Who Shot Ya
I’m starting some shit like when B.I.G dropped Who Shot Ya
If you decide to live
Don’t tell police who shot ya
[Verse 3: Waka Flocka]
I'm from Q U E E N S
Where n-ggas chasing cheese
Cakes like eating this
My n-ggas ain’t playing games
This ain’t recess
Wet T-Shirt contest
Leave your T wet
For that Jesus piece hanging off your neck
Life ended, game over
Ain’t no reset
Youngins color blind over here
Throw up the wrong set
Drop a bomb like I’m Funk Flex
I’m connected out in Brooklyn like the Nets
Head back then got now
F-ck next
Out in the Bronx cause we souse rendezvous
Manhattan condo with the ocean view
Smoking Malibu Kush, clean Dutch
Better Kick Push when I up the 40
Back to Queens catch me in ?
On west side ? got the towers
Death to the cowards
And your bitch pussy
Ran through that whole god mileage
[Hook]
New York City
This the way that we rock
Let’s get back on our shit
New York City
This the way that we rock
Let’s get back on our shit
Uh-La la la la la la la la la la
Uh-La la la la la la la la la la
New York
[Verse 4: Vado]
A while back met some wild cat
Fly cat, you know I didn't supply that
I’m from where kids get no parenting
Gun get you 3 to 5, and they still carrying
Keep the nine same bag Dirty Harry in
Suede Belt, slim corduroys
Leather jacket them
Used to rob base, that was easy rock
Cooked it up then hand the plate to a greedy block
Back when Ma$e was the face on your TV box
Harlem World Diplomats was the team to watch
This young MC really lived this
Had EPMD, strictly business
? was doing biz then
Kept Nikes on
And a fitted gripping the biscuits
But it's whatever when whatever
New York City get busy when we're together
[Hook]
New York City
This the way that we rock
Let’s get back on our shit
New York City
This the way that we rock
Let’s get back on our shit
Uh-La la la la la la la la la la
Uh-La la la la la la la la la la
New York
Took myself outta New York City
But New York won't leave me alone
I found everything I needed there
In a Deli right down the street
It's always in my blood
The last place I felt at home
Chewing up the great Big Apple
You learn to love the smell of the streets
THERE'S ROCK 'N' ROLL IN NEW YORK CITY
AND LOTS OF THINGS TO GET ON DOWN
LIFE CAN GET HARD IN NEW YORK CITY
BUT I'LL BE BACK TO ROCK THAT TOWN
JUST STICK AROUND
Either I had nails for breakfast
Or the day just wasn't right
Face to face with sheer brutality
Concrete cold reality
Part of me just couldn't stay
Part of me just can't break away
Survivin' New York City
Is an impressive fact indeed
THERE'S ROCK 'N' ROLL IN NEW YORK CITY
AND LOTS OF THINGS TO GET ON DOWN
LIFE CAN GET HARD IN NEW YORK CITY
BUT I'LL BE BACK TO ROCK THAT TOWN
Standing on the corner, just me and yoko ono,
We was waiting for jerry to land.
Up come a man with a guitar in his hand,
Singing, "have a marijuana, if you can."
His name was david peel and we found that he was real,
He sang, "the pope smokes dope ev'ryday."
Up come a policeman, shoved us of the street,
Singing, "power to the people today."
New york city!
New york city!
New york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey! hey!
Well, down to max's, kansas city, got down the nitty gritty
With the elephant's memory band.
Laid something down as the news spread around
About the plastic ono elephant's memory band.
Well, we played some funky boogie, and laid some tutti fritti,
Singing, "long tall sally's a man."
Up come a preacher man, tryin' to be a teacher,
Singing, "god's a red herring in drag!"
New york city!
New york city!
New york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Ha! ha!
Hey! hey! hey! hey!
Hey!
Oh yeah!
Hey! new york city!
Alright, new york city!
New york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey! hey!
Well, we did the staten island ferry, making movies for the telly,
Played the fillmore and apollo for freedom.
Tried to shake our image, just a-cycling through the village,
But we found that we had left it back in london.
Well, nobody came to bug us, hustle us or shove us,
We decided to make it our home.
If the man wants to shove us out, we gonna jump and shout,
The statue of liberty said, "come!"
New york city!
New york city!
New york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey! hey!
Oh, new york!
Uh, uh, uh.
Well, new york, yeh,
Alright!
Oh, new york city!
Back in new york city!
Yeah, new york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Ass city!
Down in the village,
Yeah, what a city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Yeah, rock on!
Ow! uh!
Yeah!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey! what a bad, bad city!
Bad-ass city!
Bad-ass city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey, city! city!

Went back to kansas city, laid down the nitty gritty
With the elephant's memory band.
Laid something down as the news spread around

[Chorus x4: singer]
Are you sure you wanna go, to New York City (New York City)
[Kool Keith]
New York City's finest, the added attraction next to your man
Popular name, I'm Mark Minus
Negative, is that the best vocals you give
I pass the structure, you think it's okay, Motown needs to see me
Deliver your cassette, amateurs embarass me
Give me somethin to play, I sit in the big meetings with Damon Dash
Urinate on your shoulders, my delivery is arrogant
I expect cash, don't play anything cartoon in front of Mike Biv
Ask Hyram Hicks, I put my face in the console
My engineer's sharp, I thought you spit on hits
Oh you Spike now, wearin Allen
You sportin Houston's kicks, Central Park West
You rhyme and practice
While I hang out with the Dominican Republic
I keep the Sony Cam, between crushes
I take all Spanish chicks, international rapper
On tight bars with the Spanish mix
Hittin Spanish licks
[Chorus]
[uncredited rapper]
Statues, buildings, street killings, living could be heaven
Pimps {?} thugs, nothing given driven
The Penthouse look is dope cookers jukers
The high price, hookers gamblers pushers
Subways no way, cab some days
Town call always I all days
Honest but dishonest, regardless
I'm heartless, cause money is endless
No heart to get clipped you trip you'll get clipped
The weak will slip, hit is what they get
Heat spark avoid the jack don't talk gun spark
All money sharks in New York
Money's fast, the city ain't slow
The papes low, in all those boroughs, yo
[Chorus]
[uncredited rapper]
Yo, yo
I love the dirty blocks, my thugs at the corner movin that stuff
Controllin the spot, I like the city yo we move quickly
Where the streets talk a lot, yo (uh-huh, yo)
And if you snitch them kids'll get you at the chicken spot
And rock big leathers, and match the Timbs up
Lace the kicks up, the new fitted (new fitted)
A long chains make the chickens get real hot
Stop playin, it's the Big Apple
We take a bite out, conference calls blow ten thousand (yeah)
Bungalo six baby, on just a night out (woo!)
The Westside highway, I test my heat out
Five deep, we move fast and blow the seats out
The streets peak out, they like the Claybornes
Come through, yo we make the streets stop
I know your head bop, New York City (New York)
Where cats wild out and jacks just go out
She came to me shortly after Christmas
Said, "She hated spoilin' new year's eve"
But the truth doesn't wait to come in season
And what we had feared was now believed
She said, "She'd leave come Monday mornin'"
Catch a plane if I'd split the fair
She had friends who lived in New York City
She'd look them up and have the baby there
And now she's alone in New York City
(New York City)
Livin' like Lord, I wonder how
An angel in hell in New York City
(New York City)
But I can't think about that now
Honey, will you tell him Bible stories
And give him all the love I never could?
And never tell him too much 'bout his daddy
'Cause there's not too much to say, that's good
He'll have to learn it all from his mother
How to count and say his A B C's
But when you teach him prayers to say at bedtime
Leave off "God bless daddy," won't you please?
And now they're alone in New York City
(New York City)
Livin' like Lord, I wonder how
Two angels in hell in New York City
(New York City)
But I can't think about that now

NYC down in the village
What a bad-ass city!
I can't remember what I planned tomorrow
I can't remember when it's time to go
When I look in the mirror
Tracing lines with a pencil
I remember what came before
I wanted to think there was endless love
Until I saw the light dim in your eyes
In the dead of the night I found out
Sometimes there's love that won't survive
New York City
Such a beautiful disease
New York City
Such a beautiful,
Such a beautiful disease
Laura kept all her disappointments
Locked up in a box behind her closet door
She pulled the blinds and listened to the thunder
With no way out from the family store
We all told her things could get better
When you just say goodbye
I'll lay awake one more night
Caught in a vision I want to deny
And did I mention the note that I found
Taped to my locked front door
It talked about no regrets
As it slipped from my hand to the scuffed tile floor
I rode the train for hours on end
And watched the people pass me by
It could be that it has no end
Just an action junkie's lullaby
New York City
We were full of the stuff that every dream rested
As if floating on a lumpy pillow sky
Caught up in the whole illusion
That dreams never pass us by
Came to a tattoed conclusion
That the big one was knocking on the door
What started as a mass delusion
Would take me far from the place I adore
I got a woman and she ain't so tall
She got a mouth like texas and that ain't small
Hey Mr President get down on your knees
The USA's got a social disease
Feed my cock feed my brain
I'm tripping out in the pouring rain
I see the sky and the clouds from above
And I see the mountains but I'm not in love
Waded out, down into the waters edge, breathing in the season's sand
on our toes and hands from the shores of Liberty Island.
Now we're sick, we're tired, we're dark, we're beaten blue.
The noose is tied, the chairs kicked and no one knew.
We’re getting sick; the night life is killing us all tonight.
And I, I’m more than words than expressions of twilight;
I can feel it in my bones this time.
Yeah I can feel it in my bones this time.
I’m not afraid, I’m not gonna let this go.
If you get this right are you gonna forget about me?
This is dark; it's coated with ammunition,
cold stairs, dark hearts and empty kitchens.
As we lie awake, we need each other to just breathe.
He is the feet, the eyes, and the body.
Eternal saint and we're just nothing.
And I, I’m more than words than expressions of twilight;
I can feel it in my bones this time.
Yeah I can feel it in my bones this time.
I’m not going, I’m not going away you say, I’m not believing,
I’m not believing a word you say.
I watch the sky turn black to blush
Head still spinning from the rush
Of all the things I did the night before
And looking down from my hotel
These dawn-lit streets begin to fill
With memories of you and I
On a New York City night
I shake my head to clear the sounds
The traffic horns, the growing crowd
The sun awaking over central park
But still it creeps beneath my skin
All of these heartbeats in the din
With concrete dreams stirring to life
On a New York City night
And I take it with me when I leave
The crowded skyline, the energy
The sleepless city always leaves its mark
Just close my eyes and I'm back again
The neon flush upon our skin
Still wrapped in thoughts of love and wine
You called me last night
On the telephone
And I was glad to hear from you
'Cos I was all alone
You said it's snowing, it's snowing
God I hate this weather
Now I'd walk through blizzards
Just to get us back together
We met in the springtime
At a rock'n'roll show
It was in the Bowery
When it was time to go
We kissed on the subway
In the middle of the night
I held your hand, you held mine
It was the best night of my life
'Cos everyone's your friend
In New York City
And everything looks beautiful
When you're young and pretty
The streets are paved with diamonds
And there's just so much to see
But the best thing about New York City is
You and me
Statue of Liberty, Staten Island ferry
(.?* .), Breakfast at Tiffany's
Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge
The Empire State where King Kong lives
Coney Island and Times Square
Rockefeller Centre
Wish I was there...
You wrote me a letter
Just the other day
Said springtime is coming soon
So why don't you come to stay
I packed my stuff, I'm on the bus
I can't believe it's true
I'm three days from New York City
And I'm three days from you
And everyone's my friend
In New York City
And everything looks beautiful
When you're young and pretty
The streets are paved with diamonds
And there's just so much to see
But the best thing about New York City is
You and me...
You and me...
You and me...
New York City, a city so great
Her pride, her beauty so pure
Her birth of my soul, so honest, so strong
Her mecca - How I adore
As a child I remember her dark alleyways
Where we learned how to fight
And we learned to be brave
We played handball all day and kissed girls at night
Fought off rival gangs
How we were so alive
I grew older and watched the neighborhood change
I saw my friends perish
To ruthless violent ends
I remember just yesterday's city streetlights
Where the boys hung all night
New York City (3x)
Hey girl let me take you down to the place
play girl put a smile on your pretty face
hey girl from Chicago to London town
(from Chicago to London town)
good tight is a new stand of mine
baby let this thing of my cast just behind
this is a place to be
New York city
come on now
CHORUS:
let's come to the place where the boys are pretty
New York city (2x)
If you want the best come to
New York city (2x)
come on now
let's go to the place where the girls are pretty
New York city (2x)

New York city (2x)

New York city

CHORUS
the clock keeps turning
don't hesitate

CHORUS (2x)
Been down in the dumps for a day or two
Thinkin' baby, it was time for me to make a move
Late night skyline that's when it hit me
Well, I got to have me some of that New York City
Now, I was leaving San Diego in a Chevrolet van
I, out across the desert into no man's land
I just love the west you know, sure it's pretty
But I got to have me some of that New York City
I've been away too long and I got the itch
To do a little time in the east coast nitch
Down on Broadway and do a little diddy
Smack dab in the middle of New York City, oh yeah
I've been away too long and I got the itch
To do a little time in the east coast nitch
Down on Broadway and do a little diddy
Smack dab in the middle of New York City, oh yeah
Now, I was leaving California on a warm summer night
The ocean on my left and the mountains on my right
To leave it all behind sure seemed like a pity
She came to me shortly after Christmas,
Said she hated spoiling New Year's Eve.
But the truth doesn't wait to come in season
And what we had feared was now believed
She said she'd leave come Monday morning,
Catch a plane if I'd split the fair.
She had friends who lived in New York City.
She'd look them up and have the baby there.
And now she's alone in New York City (New York City),
Living like ... Lord, I wonder how.
An angel in hell in New York City (New York City),
But I can't think about that now.
Honey, will you tell him Bible stories
And give him all the love I never could?
And never tell him too much 'bout his daddy
'Cause there's not too much to say that's good.
He'll have to learn it all from his mother:
How to count and say his A-B-C's.
But when you teach him prayers to say at bedtime,
Leave off "God bless Daddy," won't you please?
And now they're alone in New York City (New York City),
Living like ... Lord, I wonder how.
Two angels in hell in New York City (New York City),
But I can't think about that now.
I can't think about that now.
I am lost in the world of lights
Mesmerize my nights
The sky scrapes on building sites
I'm feelin' so alive.
Whatever's clever
Whatever's clever will have to wait...
Thinking on the world at large
The city's got it all
Culture clash and sidewalk trash
Don't look down you might fall
And now we just feel like energy!
New York city will never sleep!
And now we just feel like synergy!
New York city - it's the place to be!
I'm gonna win, I'm gonna lose
I'm gonna chase it till the end
And if you're walkin' in my shoes
You're gonna make it or pretend
Whatever's clever
Whatever's clever will have to wait
And now we just feel like energy!
New York city will never sleep!
And now we just feel like synergy!
You called me last night on the telephone
And I was glad to hear from you 'cause I was all alone
You said, ";It's snowing, it's snowing! God, I hate this weather.";
Now I walk through blizzards just to get us back together
We met in the springtime at a rock-and-roll show
It was on the Bowery when it was time to go
We kissed on the subway in the middle of the night
I held your hand, you held mine, it was the best night of my life.
'Cause everyone's your friend in New York City
And everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
The streets are paved with diamonds and there's just so much to see
But the best thing about New York City is you and me
Statue of Liberty, Staten Island Ferry, Co-op City, Katz's and Tiffany's*
Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, The Empire State where Dylan lived**
Coney Island and Times Square, Rockefeller Center
Wish I was there
You wrote me a letter just the other day
Said, ";Springtime is coming soon so why don't you come to stay.";
I packed my stuff, got on the bus, I can't believe it's true
I'm three days from New York City and I'm three days from you
'Cause everyone's my friend in New York City
And everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
The streets are paved with diamonds and there's just so much to see
But the best thing about New York City is you and me
'Cause everyone's my friend in New York City
And everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
The streets are paved with diamonds and there's just so much to see
But the best thing about New York City is you and me.
It's a crazy old day in New York city.
I'm miles from home but I don't need pity,
and I miss my friends my home town.
Sunday morning shutters down.
Radio from an open window.
The smell of fried chicken and the sound of children,
and skipping ropes and kiss and tell.
I've missed my flight but what the hell.
I am a stranger here New York city's not my home
Monday morning rush is on.
Everybody's waking at the crack of dawn,
with sleepy eyes walking fast.
Rushing for the train that you got to catch.
Streets are full of navy cars.
Fogged up windows and you can't get far,
with traffic jams hooting horns.
Cups of coffee from coffee bars.
I am an stranger here and l could just disappear
New York City's not my home
Tuesday night was freezing cold.
It rained for hours so I stayed indoors,
and I counted time, one day to go
Till I packed my bags and I'm going home
JFK was packed that day.
They drove me out in a Chevrolet.
with my suitcase and my spirits high,
I'm going home, New York goodbye.
I am a stranger here and I could just disappear not my home
New York City's not my home
mmm Not my home
New York city tonight
And you know I feel all right
Even thou I'm so far away from home
Up the avenues and down the streets
Hanging out at the lower east side
I got my friends got the casualties
And tonight well I feel all right
Well I like the music I like weather
I wanna live here some day
This song goes out to all the people
In the city I love
Down the avenues and up the streets
Hanging out at Niagara's tonight
Tehirs a mural of Joe Strummer on the wall
And tonight it made me feel all right
Well I like the music I like weather
I wanna live here some day
This song goes out to all the people and the city I love
New York city tonight and you know I feel all right
Deserve to be I see you in me
Hollow waters with Catfish wings
Germs spread straight from sorrow
A space in a hole
You're selling your soul
Illusions you hold, I tell you no joke
Germs spread straight from sorrow
I'm chewing hate and spitting faith
You're oceans are drained and the fish can't mate
It's easy come, it's easy go, shouting a whisper
Sex in the head
So get back to New York City
My heavenly home
Crime can be so pretty
So get back to New York City
Would you bleed for me
'Cause I'll bleed for you
Princess charming, where's your king?
Germs spread straight from sorrow
A space in a hole
You're selling your soul
Illusions you hold, I tell you no joke
Germs spread straight from sorrow
I'm chewing hate and spitting faith
You're oceans are drained and the fish can't mate
It's easy come, it's easy go, shouting a whisper
Sex in the head
So get back to New York City
My heavenly home
Crime can be so pretty
So get back to
New York City
I'm chewing hate and spitting faith
You're oceans are drained and the fish can't mate
It's easy come, it's easy go, shouting a whisper
So get back to New York City
My heavenly home
Crime can be so pretty
So get back to New York City
(Hoffmann)
New York City takes me over
In these nights when I'm alone
Café corners, hung with strangers
Gulping down a bitter soul
Wouldn't mind the peace of going back home
And meeting a knowing smile
Where Sunday tastes of confession booth sins
And Monday comes with new denial
I am pretty good at nothing
When I think that I'm a star
Flying ego over mountains
Spacious skies of who we are
Wouldn't mind the peace of rewinding the time
Give me blank paper and pen
I'd feel ease in calling you mine
But then I'd know it's just pretend
Gotta find a better space
Where I recognize my face
I begin to cry
Emotions churning
Gotta find some peace of mind
Somewhere in between these lines
â'Cause I begin to die when my fire's burning
Ocean turning
New York City, I'm uncertain
Think I lost round Chelsea Town
Café corner, I'm a stranger
Hold me close and take me down
Standing on the corner, just me and yoko ono,
We was waiting for jerry to land.
Up come a man with a guitar in his hand,
Singing, have a marijuana, if you can.
His name was david peel and we found that he was real,
He sang, the pope smokes dope evryday.
Up come a policeman, shoved us of the street,
Singing, power to the people today.
New york city!
New york city!
New york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey! hey!
Well, down to maxs, kansas city, got down the nitty gritty
With the elephants memory band.
Laid something down as the news spread around
About the plastic ono elephants memory band.
Well, we played some funky boogie, and laid some tutti fritti,
Singing, long tall sallys a man.
Up come a preacher man, tryin to be a teacher,
Singing, gods a red herring in drag!
If the man wants to shove us out, we gonna jump and shout,
The statue of liberty said, come!
New york city!
New york city!
New york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey! hey!
Oh, new york!
Uh, uh, uh.
Well, new york, yeh,
Alright!
Oh, new york city!
Back in new york city!
Yeah, new york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Ass city!
Down in the village,
Yeah, what a city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Yeah, rock on!
Ow! uh!
Yeah!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey! what a bad, bad city!
Bad-ass city!
Bad-ass city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey, city! city!

I saw a rainbow stretched across the ocean
Crashed the Big Apple
So I took a bite
Found a taste I like
But she bit me back
I jumped across the ocean
Found a Big Apple
So I took a bite
She teased me with a taste
Laid my soul to waste
Stabbed me in the back
Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ
I ain't never coming back, no
Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ
I ain't never coming back, child
Pressure never stops
Pressure never drops
Lennon got fried
Said it was a crime
Said it was a pity
No one even cried
Pressure never stops
Pressure never drops
Lennon got fried
Said it was a crime
Said it was a pity
No one even cried, cried, cried
Oh, Hell's Kitchen is a crazy place
I ain't never coming back, oh no no
Hell's Kitchen is a crazy place
I ain't never coming back
Oh, New York City
Oh, New York City, yeah, yeah
New York City, yeah
Oh, New York City, well, wellHell's Kitchen is a DMZ
I'm never coming back, no
Disneyland, trash can baby, yeah

The Times Square shuffle, Manhattan flip
Twenty four hour groove
Working up a frenzy baby
People push on through, yeah
Listen boy
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I jumped across the ocean
Found a Big Apple
So I took a bite
She teased me with a taste
Laid my soul to waste
Stabbed me in the back
Hell's Kitchen is a crazy place
I'm never coming back, no no no
Hell's Kitchen is a DMZ
I ain't never, never, yeah
Oh, New York City
Wake up, yeah, in the New York City
Well, New York City, yeah, yeah

I see it every day
Everywhere I look they say
Another life has been taken away
It makes my stomach turn
But livin' here you gotta learn
Get used to it, it's reality
Say your prayers
Hope it won't happen to you
Mind your business
Do what you gotta do
Don't look for trouble
Sometimes trouble finds you
And what can you do
What can I do?
One on one fights don't exist
Fist fights are extinct
Nowadays people don't seem to think
They can't see
How easy it is to set a soul free
That decision is not theirs to make
Say your prayers
Hope it won't happen to you
Mind your business
Do what you gotta do
Don't look for trouble
Sometimes trouble finds you
And what can you do
What can I do?
Now you see what I mean
Protecting my family and me
What can I do?
It makes my stomach turn
Livin' here you gotta learn
You gotta fight back
I got a woman and she ain't so tall
She got a mouth like texas and that ain't small
Hey Mr President get down on your knees
The USA's got a social disease
Feed my cock feed my brain
I'm tripping out in the pouring rain
I see the sky and the clouds from above
And I see the mountains but I'm not in love
Cause I see New York City (City)
