Part Human part animal genetic hybrids A parahuman is a human-animal Genetic engineering hybrid or chimera hybrid. For Years Scientists have done extensive research into the mixing of genes or cells from different species, e.g. adding human (and other animal) genes to bacteria and farm animals to mass-produce insulin and spider silk proteins, and introducing human cells into mouse embryos. Para humans have been referred to as "human-animal hybrids" in a vernacular sense that also encompasses human-animal chimeras. The term parahuman is not used in scientific publications. The term is sometimes used to sensationalize research that involves mixing biological materials from humans and other species. According to Daily Mail, as of 2011, more than 150 human-animal hybrid embryos were created in British laboratories since the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008. With respect to animal-human mixing, no evidence of any entities being born has ever been recorded but new developments in crossing the species barrier may no longer limit animal-human mixtures to the domain of mythology. Indeed, procedures have recently been developed by scientists which mix human and animal biological elements to such an extent that it questions the very concept of being entirely human. For example, concern for animal-human mixtures was raised in 2001 by the UK Animal Procedures Committee which indicated in its Report on Biotechnology that though questions may exist as to the likely fate of such animal-human mixtures, there may be a deeper repugnance at the thought of their very existence. Indeed, The Regulation of New Biotechnologies and published in 2004, that the crossing of the animal-human boundary was, in some respects, quite complex and subtle but that the mixing of human and animal tissues and materials was not by itself objectionable. In other words, in the context of therapy and preventive medicine, the President's Council accepted that the transplantation of animal parts to replace defective human ones could be considered as ethical. Moreover, the Council had no overriding objection to the insertion of animal-derived genes or cells into a human body - or even into human fetuses.
Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News The high walls, electric fences, and private security guards surrounding South Africa's residences and businesses are as inherent to the country's landscape as Table Mountain is to Cape Town. And with good reason — South Africa's 2012-2013 crime statistics were the worst in a decade, with increases in murder, attempted murder, violent armed robbery, and carjackings. Fear of crime has led to a boom in South Africa's private security industry since apartheid ended 20 years ago. The field's quick expansion is largely a result of continued social and economic inequality, increased violence, and inept police forces. But high unemployment and rising commodity prices are a growing problem for the country's people. Study in Ghana, West Africa with ThisWorldMusic (www.thisworldmusic.com) and experience the best in traditional African music, arts and culture! People come from around the globe for the educational opportunity to study in Ghana, which is also known to many academics as the 'Gateway to Africa.' They come for the good food, friendly people, lively culture and historical sites like Kakum Park, Cape Coast Castle and Kejetia Market in Kumasi. Many university study abroad students also enjoy studying in Ghana because English is the official language and because the country is very safe for foreigners. In the capital city Accra, musicians and dancers can learn about Ghanaian highlife music, kpanlogo (sometimes spelled panlogo) African drumming, hip-life music, and other forms of music, art and drumming of Africa. People enjoy eating indigenous African food such as fufu, banku and tilapia fish with jollof rice. Other people who travel to Ghana go to Kumasi, the former seat of the Ashanti Kingdom, where there is still an active African chief. Ghana was formerly called the 'Gold Coast' and to this day there is active gold mining that takes place. In addition, they recently discovered oil, which may change the nation someday from a developing country into an industrialized country. Oil companies have recently started offshore oil drilling near the Ghanaian city of Takoradi, which is the capital of the Western Region. The potential for economic growth is quite astounding, and greater than at any other time in Ghana's history. Those on summer study abroad programs and others who study in Ghana know about this growth phenomenon from studying Nigeria, which is also in West Africa though not right on the Gulf of Guinea. Since Ghana is on the Atlantic coast, it borders Togo on one side and Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) on the other. During the 1940s, South African doctors Sidney and Emily Kark, pioneered a progressive social and community-oriented Primary Health Care (PHC) approach. This became the basis for the development of a network of PHC centres across South Africa in the 1940s and 1950s, before this initiative was quashed by the apartheid government. Dr. Noble's presentation examines the attempts to train medical students in PHC. When these institutional efforts failed, the quest for PHC became largely associated with anti-apartheid "struggle" activists who worked to provide more equitable and accessible health care services for South Africa. Joseph Kutzin discusses the issue from the WHO perspective. Part of the World Health Organization Global Health Histories Seminar series. Presented in association with the University of York's Department of History and supported by the Wellcome Trust. Please visit the World Health Organisation's website for more information on the Global Health Histories seminar series. Archives of past presentations, including audio files of many seminars, are available via the WHO's and Centre for Global Health Histories' websites. Cape Town South Africa - Video Tour: http://www.cape-town-hotel-accommodation.com We provide Cape Town Accommodation, Cheap Flights to Cape Town, Cape Town Car Hire, Cape Town Attractions, Things to do in Cape Town and Cape Town Tours. Cape Town is the second-most populated city in South Africa after Johannesburg, and the provincial capital and primate city of the Western Cape. As the seat of the National Parliament, it is also the legislative capital of the country. It forms part of the City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality. The city is famous for its harbour as well as its natural setting in the Cape floral kingdom, including such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. Cape Town is also Africa's most popular tourist destination. Cape Town is not only the most popular international tourist destination in South Africa, but Africa as a whole. This is due to its good climate, natural setting, and well- developed infrastructure. The city has several well-known natural features that attract tourists, most notably Table Mountain, which forms a large part of the Table Mountain National Park and is the back end of the City Bowl. Reaching the top of the mountain can be achieved either by hiking up, or by taking the Table Mountain Cableway. Cape Point is recognised as the dramatic headland at the end of the Cape Peninsula. Many tourists also drive along Chapman's Peak Drive, a narrow road that links Noordhoek with Hout Bay, for the views of the Atlantic Ocean and nearby mountains. It is possible to either drive or hike up Signal Hill for closer views of the City Bowl and Table Mountain. Cape Town South Africa - Video Tour: http://www.cape-town-hotel-accommodation.com Many tourists also visit Cape Town's beaches, which are popular with local residents.Due to the city's unique geography, it is possible to visit several different beaches in the same day, each with a different setting and atmosphere. Though the Cape's water ranges from cold to mild, the difference between the two sides of the city is dramatic. While the Atlantic Seaboard averages annual water temperatures barely above that of coastal California around 13 °C (55 °F), the False Bay coast is very much warmer, averaging between 16 and 17 °C (61 and 63 °F) annually. This is similar to water temperatures in much of the Northern Mediterranean (for example Nice). In summer, False Bay water averages slightly over 20 °C (68 °F), with 22 °C (72 °F) a common high. Beaches located on the Atlantic Coast tend to have very cold water due to the Benguela current which originates from the Southern Ocean, whilst the water at False Bay beaches may be warmer by up to 10 °C (18 °F) at the same moment due to the influence of the warm Agulhas current, and the surface warming effects of the South Easter wind. Both coasts are equally popular, although the beaches in affluent Clifton and elsewhere on the Atlantic Coast are better developed with restaurants and cafés, with a particularly vibrant strip of restaurants and bars accessible to the beach at Camps Bay. Boulders Beach near Simon's Town is known for its colony of African Penguins.Surfing is popular and the city hosts the Red Bull Big Wave Africa surfing competition every year. Travel video about destination South-Africa. Johannesburg is the commercial centre of South Africa. Since gold was first discovered there, everything has revolved around money and from the 50th floor of Africa’s tallest building, The Carlton Towers, there is an all-engulfing view of the city’s narrow streets and jungle of concrete and glass. The African Museum is a contemporary building and one of South Africa’s most exquisite landmarks, it contains a large variety of geological exhibits and detailed accounts of the city’s past surface mining that gave rise to the country’s massive gold rush. The resistance to apartheid is also illustrated, as well as the history of Africa’s native inhabitants who journeyed from present day Botswana to the south of the country. In contrast to Johannesburg, Pretoria grew at a calmer pace and has developed from a Boer farming municipality into South Africa’s administrative capital. Located on a hill is the Vortrekker Monument that is a reminder of the Boers’ Great Trek and, in 1830, the crucial battle in which they defeated the Zulus. Sun City is a magnificent fantasy world full of African ambience and the Sun City Hotel is the casino that made Sol Kerzner the richest man in South Africa, whereas the futuristic Cascades Hotel derived its name from its wonderful setting of waterfalls, pools and lush plant life. The route travels northeast over the misty and one time heavily defended Drakens Mountains in the direction of the Kruger Park that extends along the border with Mosambique. From Kruger, the journey continues across Swaziland and Kwazulu Natal to Port Elizabeth on the Indian Ocean’s south coast. Along the rocky coastline a road leads to the southernmost tip of Africa, the Cape Of Good Hope. For those lucky enough to experience it, the drive on the spectacular mountain road around the Cape is an amazing adventure. One of the many natural wonders of this unique land that unites European influence with African pride.

Its proximity to all these SADC countries makes Limpopo the perfect springboard for exploring the riches of this exciting part of the African continent. They call it the Great North. Travel video about destination Johannesburg in South Africa. Johannesburg is the commercial centre of South Africa. Since gold was first discovered, everything has revolved around money and from the 50th floor of Africa's tallest building, The Carlton Towers, there is an all-engulfing view of the city's narrow streets and jungle of concrete and glass. The African Museum is a contemporary building and one of South Africa's most exquisite landmarks. It contains a large variety of geological exhibits and detailed accounts of the citys' past surface mining that gave rise to the country's massive gold rush. The resistance to apartheid is also illustrated, as well as that of the history of Africa's native inhabitants who journeyed from present day Botswana to the south of the country. Gold Reef City is a large historical theme park that features the Johannesburg of pioneering times and focuses on the clothing, houses and entertainments of the country's golden years. On display are some of the old mining wagons that the workers used to transport the precious rock from the unforgiving mines and there's also a chance to see liquid gold, as it is turned into bullion and processed as gold coins. In contrast to Johannesburg, Pretoria grew at a calmer pace and has developed from a Boer farming municipality into South Africa's administrative capital. Located on a hill is the Voortrekker Monument that is a reminder of the Boers' Great Trek and in 1830, the crucial battle in which they defeated the Zulus. Johannesburg and this whole region of South Africa is the sunshiny place to be!

Visit Sun City in South Africa The site we mustn't miss in South Africa is the resort and experience complex consisting of Sun City and lost city. It's a little bit like a theme reservation, a little bit park with slides, a little bit hotel and a little bit Disneyland which guaranties a wonderful vacation and causes homesickness. Anyone who has seen it only in pictures or film would like to see it in its reality and anyone who has been there would like to return. Sol Kesner the young bookkeeper working in the catering industry opened his first hotel in 1964. His business empire became bigger and bigger by selling and buying shares, he was able to make his dream come true by 1980 which has become a dream of ours as well. The exotic world of Sun City has tropical forest and among the trees, orchids bloom. The scent is intoxicating, the colors are damped by the light coming through the leaves among the branches, monkeys and parrots with colorful feathers squeal. In the lakes flamingo's can be seen and water lilies bloom. A flight of exotic birds enjoy the jungle. On the grass of parks delicate peacocks sweep. Realistic statues of the animals of Africa ornament the streets, bridges, corridors and terraces. Friendly zebras, elephants, funny monkeys and more lions watch us everywhere. In the sheltered sea bay with its white sand, you can get a real bath in the waves. It's a world of tales where everything got to be found in unspoiled nature but without its dangers. In this jungle there are no pythons or tigers leveling at us. In the rivers there are no crocodiles and even mosquitoes are exterminated regularly. The charm of Sun City resides in a fact that we get concentrated African experiences well not only our safety and comfort are taking cared off but also our entertainment. Here, it's impossible to be bored. In the building of a five star hotel cascades, there's a casino and a theatre hall for thousands of people which also cater for our entertaining. World Tube https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Travel Guide South Africa http://bit.ly/12NxxNm Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of Pretoria in South Africa, which was named after Andries Pretorius, a Boer strategies who beat the Zulu. Visit Pretoria in South Africa Pretoria was named after Andries Pretorius, a Boer strategies who beat the Zulu. The first war between the English and Boer to get independence ended with the defeat of the English. But 18 years later, they had a decisive victory and they ruled all over the South African republic. It's interesting that the later prime minister, the young Churchan took part as a correspondent in the second Boer war. The sites of Pretoria remind us of the two wars even today. Paul Kruger was the respected President of the country between the two wars. In Church Wit, we can find the simple house where he lived for seven years. The entrance is guarded by two marble lions. The furniture looks as if the President had just stood from his desk. In one of the rooms, the copy of the room in which he died during his exile in Switzerland has been furnished. Behind the house, a locomotive has been displayed that he traveled around the country in during his seven active years. In the street named after Kruger, we can find the red bricked church and the town hall with the Pretoria statues in its yard. The brown statue of President Kruger has been placed in the main square called church square. Statues made in Italy stood in a store houses a secret for a long time. It was stood up only after the second Boer war. The square has always been a heart of the town. In the middle of the square, there's a small church around which markets and auctions where held for long time. In the square, we can find the palace of justice and the building of the old parliament with the clock tower. The peace agreement closing the English Boer war was signed into the Victorian building of Melrose house in May 1902. Boer Trekker monument is six kilometers from the town center. The imposing work was made in memory of the battle of Blood River where the Boer beat the Zulu at last. Further way above forty kilometers from Pretoria, we can see premiere diamond mine which is famous because the biggest diamond of the world was found here. It took cutters from Amsterdam two years to make the diamonds called the star of Africa and the smaller star of Africa from the 3,106 karat precious stone which belongs to the British royal crown. The crown can be admired in the treasury of the towel of London. In the main square full of life hawkers offer fast food for example boiled or roasted corn. Cape Town, South Africa Tourism (HD) - South Africa Vacation Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube Cape Town is the second largest city in South Africa and is the capital of the Western Cape Province, as well as being the legislative capital of South Africa (the Houses of Parliament are here). It is located in the south-west corner of the country near the Cape of Good Hope, and is the most southern city in Africa. It is a stone's throw from South Africa's world-famous Cape Winelands around Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. Cape Town is the second-most populous city in South Africa, after Johannesburg, and the provincial capital and primate city of the Western Cape. As the seat of the National Parliament, it is also the legislative capital of the country. It forms part of the City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality. The city is famous for its harbour, for its natural setting in the Cape floral kingdom, as well as for such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. Located on the shore of Table Bay, Cape Town was first developed by the Dutch East India Company as a victualling (supply) station for Dutch ships sailing to East Africa, India, and the Far East. Jan van Riebeeck's arrival on 6 April 1652 established the first permanent European settlement in South Africa. Cape Town quickly outgrew its original purpose as the first European outpost at the Castle of Good Hope, becoming the economic and cultural hub of the Cape Colony. Until the Witwatersrand Gold Rush and the development of Johannesburg, Cape Town was the largest city in South Africa. Today it is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, reflecting its role as a major destination for immigrants and expatriates[4] to South Africa. In 2011 the metropolitan region had an estimated population of 3.74 million. The city was named the World Design Capital for 2014 by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design. In 2014 Cape Town was named the best place in the world to visit by The New York Times.

World Tube https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Travel Guide South Africa http://bit.ly/12NxxNm Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of Cape Peninsula in South Africa, which was once an island, but about sixty million years ago it was joined to the mainland by the emergence from the sea of the sandy area now known as the Cape Flats. On the motorway leaving the beaches and bays of Cape Town, we go past the mountain range called The 12 Apostles. The Governor, Sir Rufane Donkin named the sandstone peaks. At the bottom of the mountain lies the most beautiful Villa Cora of Cape Town. Several foreigners have bought a house here among the palm trees facing the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. The rocky bays favor the various water sports of surfing and kiting. The cape's bay has a popular region of resorts with places for a picnic and restaurants which offers local, mainly marine specialties. The nearby sandy bay is the local nudist haven. We get to Hawke Bay accompanied by colorful flowers. It's the center of tourism. It's a popular place for yachts coming from various parts of the world. At the fish market, fresh goods are sold. The restaurant furnished like a ship, we can even try the fish specialties which often served with edible flowers, it's worth the burger and shark steak. Better for us to eat them than vice versa, and tasty crab dishes. In the small shops and marketplace of mariners' waterfront, we can choose from original African souvenirs. There are colorful text files, petite silk, jewels made of shells and pearls, ornaments and carvings. Duiker, the seal island is the peculiarity of the island. We started towards it on a small motored ship on the water of the ocean. The water under us seems surprisingly clean. We could see about five to six meters deep. After we got out of the protection of the bay into the open ocean, the waves hit more and more strongly on the bow of our ship. The wind picked up. Our ship paused on the top of the waves and we glided down like on a roller coaster. On the rocks of remote mountainous passages, waves with foam went to pieces. The wind brought cold air. We were approaching the seals. In the middle of summer in January, the sound of almost 4000 seals is brought by the wind. Lots of seals lie in the sand on the stone island. One or two of them swam to our ship to welcome us. They rotated, jumped out of the water and swam along our ship lifting their tails. They're kind faces looked as if they always smiled. The surprisingly massive 1,500-meter stone island is a small picket of the Atlantic Ocean. We tried to coast closer but the seals didn't mind at all. On the rocks, two huge males were fighting for the better area. The engine of our ship was turned off. We floated on the water in silence for minutes with the company of seals. The stream of the sea drifted our ship close to the rocks so the sailors restarted the engine and we swept around the island. In the drift, as the wind is coming from the open ocean, the waves became bigger and bigger. Our ship gets some huge warnings while we were sailing back to the protection of the bay. I can see the huge stones of the jagged passage from beneath. The waves continuously hit the broken mountainside. The waves became calmer, the water was again semi transparent. We arrived at the harbor. Another group was waiting for the ship to return so they could go on a cruise to see the seals. Writer Vivian living in South Africa, she has written several articles and books about this wonderful country. 600 meters above Hawke Bay, the crooked scenic road takes us to the Cape of Good Hope. It was named after the British seaman John Shevlin who was the discoverer of the Bay. The Dutch planted in 1915 and had illegal workers build it in 7 years. From the parking area, we can see Seal Island and the rocky bays. The harbors are the places of people of various descent, color, language and culture everywhere. It's the same here. Let's enjoy the colorful odes and performances of street musicians. The famous Cape of Good Hope is the south end of Africa. The small peninsulas bordered by the Indian Ocean with its warm friendly water on the east and the Atlantic Ocean which is cooler unfriendly water on the west. Tourists flock here from afar to see the point where the two might oceans meet. We can send word to our friends from the end of the world. The stamps bought here stamped with the Cape of Good Hope's stamp. A nature reserve established here is about 8000 hectares. The huge savannah burst into blossom during the autumn months giving an unforgettable spectacle to those who visit the area that time. The Area of Clanwilliam which is located on the north from here is also famous for its flowers. On the Peninsula, 1,200 kinds of plants and several kinds of animals live, 160 of them are birds. We can see antelopes, ostriches and baboons. Their special because they're the only monkeys who eat seafood such as fish, shell and algae.
World Tube https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Travel Guide South Africa http://bit.ly/12NxxNm Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of the Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa, which is the third largest game reservation of the country which was opened in 1979. Visiting Pilanesberg in South Africa The Pilanesberg national park is the third largest game reservation of the country which was opened in 1979 all together 8,000 specimens of several species of animals lived here among them, the five big games, lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinoceroses. Besides them we can see giraffes, zebras, antelopes and monkeys of course. Safari is done open buses around the park so there's a good opportunity to take photographs. Of course it's not allowed to get off the buses. It serves the safety of visitors as well as the visited animals. The motion mostly watching rhino charged us at the noise of Rocco running away. As sighted its head quickly but after the noise of my shot, my rhinoceros didn't collapse but turned around suddenly and run away. But I had time to shoot another sighting its shoulder. It happened in a moment and the rhino disappeared in a moment. Paulo was in the bad mood because he liked only to shoot the game. I beckon Paulo to move. Getting out of the shrubbery, we followed the path of the shot game. Only a rhino shot in the shoulder has such a big blood print. As if the night's fresh blood were watered by a can. My African tanning light shoes became bloody walking in the pools of blood. Our rhino lay about 80 or a hundred steps from the sight of shooting. He was lying, collapsed and turning towards us. The kirangosian and Rocco told me to shoot him because they thought it was still alive. Its horn was prominent and strong, so I was afraid that my prey was a white rhino. I leaned my gun against the rhinos back and I tried to lift his head lying in the blood to see its lips. The upper lips of black rhinoceros are pointed like a trunk but white rhinoceroses have a straight lip, I was trying to lift the heavy head using every effort and Paulo was also coming to help me. Suddenly the head became light when my rhino lifted his head and looked at me. It can imagine the look on my face as I trying to back away from the dangerous animal seemly to come to life again by jumping back. I must have set the jumping record from the year of 1929. Paulo and my people all shouted and scattered, "shoot him", it was easy to say but hard to do because my gun was leaned against the back of the rhinoceros. The rhino dropped his head back into the pool of flood. The panic was totally unnecessary. The sudden lift of the head was the last reflex of life. Now we look at the shots. The first shot intended to its forehead had hit his horn which stopped the bullet. At the same time, it stopped the rhino from running towards us. The second shot went to his shoulder going through his lung. The horn was prominently strong. It was almost 20 inches long and weighed almost 12 pounds dried up. Kalman Kittenberger wrote that one of his hunts. Ambitious tourists if not with the gun but torches in their hands can watch the game at night with local leaders. We can pay not only for a Safari at dawn, in the afternoon or at night but also a panorama flight in a balloon with champagne where we can watch the animals from a safe distance. It's an unforgettable trip above the Pilanesberg Mountains. Beside the national park, we can find some of accommodations of various equipment, size and price. There are African bungalows with reed roof and public bathrooms with cold water and luxurious apartments with a swimming pool and self service dinning. From the terrace of some hotels, we can watch wild animals in the day and hear the cries of wild life lying in our beds at night. The city, often shortened to PE and nicknamed "The Friendly City" or "The Windy City", stretches for 16 km along Algoa Bay, and is one of the major seaports in South Africa. Port Elizabeth was founded as a town in 1820 to house British settlers as a way of strengthening the border region between the Cape Colony and the Xhosa. It now forms part of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality which has a population of over 1.3 million. Tourism Port Elizabeth, South Africa ======== Located at the end of the picturesque Garden Route along the Cape coast, the city is one of South Africa's major destinations for tourists, many of whom come simply to enjoy the many fine beaches in and near the city. The area surrounding the CBD has a number of historic attractions, many of which are linked by the Donkin Heritage Trail. The wider area surrounding PE also features a number of game viewing opportunities, including the famous Addo Elephant Park, 72 kilometres (45 mi) to the north near the Zuurberg mountain range and National Park. Port Elizabeth is known commonly as the watersports capital of South Africa and home of Ironman Africa. Algoa bay is home to scuba diving, game fishing charters, surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding to name but a few. There are many cruises offered from the harbour from sunset cruises to view dolphins to whale watching tours. Port Elizabeth is also a great destination for whale watching with humpback whales sighted between June and August, and again between November and January, Southern right whales sighted between July and November, and Bryde's whales sighted all year round. Boat-based whale watching trips are run out of the Port Elizabeth harbour where guests are allowed close encounters with these majestic creatures, among other marine animals.

According to interviews by apprehended suspects these attacks are a way for black people to express their anger for the many years they were opressed by the whites.[1] The majority of the attackers have been young blacks, and the majority of the victims have been Afrikaner farmers, with claims of death tolls of more than 4,000 cited in the national and international media.] While the government describes the attacks as simply part of the bigger picture of crime in South Africa, white people point to brutal attacks and incidents involving self-declared anti-white motivations as evidence of a campaign to drive them off their land.
Dec 1998 Child prostitution is rife in South Africa. It's a means of survival for impoverished township kids. Standing at the side of the road two young girls pass time playing like children, until their pimp tells them to shut-up. Their friend 14 year-old Lindy, lifts her top to let a potential client inspect her wares. "They like to suck them because I'm young" she says. Following a girl on a job we confront her white client. His flies undone, he denies he knew how old she was and demands his money back. A passer-by comes to help him out. "He was just following a call of nature," he says. Nobody knows how many children are working the streets. They stay here because of poverty, because there is no home to go back to and prostitution is all they can do to survive. Local police have given-up chasing the clients; "If you catch these people they won't give evidence [against clients] because tomorrow they will be back on the street." Instead social workers try to take the children into homes. The numbers they can help though is small, and most turn back to prostitution.

Pakistan, defending 232, produced a dominating display with the ball and defeated South Africa by 29 runs despite a stunning innings from AB de Villiers! A late collapse saw Pakistan bowled out for 222 in its rain-affected World Cup Pool B match against South Africa at Eden Park on Saturday. South Africa will need to score 232 runs in 47 overs to win – a total devised under the Duckworth-Lewis system. Two rain delays suspended play for about 75 minutes in total, reducing the match to 47 overs per side, although Pakistan was bowled out with two deliveries to spare. Dale Steyn took 3-30, bowling three maiden overs. Pakistan was sent in to bat, and a number of batsmen got off to promising starts but didn’t follow through with big scores. Captain Misbah ul-Haq led the way with a solid knock of 56, while opener Sarfaz Ahmed scored a run-a-ball 49. Pakistan got off to its best start of the tournament, putting on 30 runs for the first wicket, after it had managed a top score off just 11 in its previous four games. It took a spectacular catch by Steyn to make the first breakthrough. He ran to his right at mid-on and dived full length to take the ball just above the ground, dismissing Ahmed Shehzad for 18. Pakistan’s decision to replace struggling opener Nasir Jamshed with Sarfaz Ahmed paid off. After a cautious opening, Ahmed began to dominate, smashing three sixes in one over off J.P. Duminy. But his innings came to an end when he was run out by David Miller for 49. Shahid Afridi led a late charge, scoring 22 runs off 15 balls. But he was the only batsman to score better than a run a ball, and Pakistan lost its last five wickets, including Afridi, for just 10 runs. The total will not intimidate the in-form South Africa, which has scored more than 400 runs in its past two matches.

South Africa Documentary - Living in Johannesburg Raising kids in Johannesburg comes with its challenges. On the one hand, the city’s reputation for crime concerns both expatriate and local parents who naturally fear for their children’s safety. On the other, Joburg has earned a reputation in some quarters for there not being much to do outside of its sprawling malls and the playgrounds of its mega nurseries. This couldn’t be further from the truth. There is a wealth of activities for expat children to take part in and which can help them adjust to their new surroundings. While safety is justifiably a concern for expat parents, with the necessary precautions and lifestyle adjustments, their children are likely to happy and secure in their new lives. he adult literacy rate in 2007 was 88.7%. South Africa has a 3 tier system of education starting with primary school, followed by high school and tertiary education in the form of (academic) universities and universities of technology. Learners have twelve years of formal schooling, from grade 1 to 12. Grade R is a pre-primary foundation year. Primary schools span the first seven years of schooling. High School education spans a further five years. The Senior Certificate examination takes place at the end of grade 12 and is necessary for tertiary studies at a South African university. Public universities in South Africa are divided into three types: traditional universities, which offer theoretically oriented university degrees; universities of technology ("Technikons"), which offer vocational oriented diplomas and degrees; and comprehensive universities, which offer both types of qualification. There are 23 public universities in South Africa: 11 traditional universities, 6 universities of technology and 6 comprehensive universities. Under apartheid, schools for blacks were subject to discrimination through inadequate funding and a separate syllabus called Bantu Education which was only designed to give them sufficient skills to work as labourers. In 2004 South Africa started reforming its higher education system, merging and incorporating small universities into larger institutions, and renaming all higher education institutions "university" to redress these imbalances. Between state power, tribe(s), ancestral figures, Johannesburg is a great city to live in. Call of africa. Public expenditure on education was at 5.4% of the 2002–05 GDP. The political system of Apartheid, a brutal form of racial segregation in South Africa enforced by the white Dutch Afrikaner minority, took away the basic rights of the majority black inhabitants. Even though that political system officially came to an end in 1994, to what extent does racism and racial segregation still exist in South Africa?

South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa, is a country located at the southern tip of Africa. It is divided into nine provinces and has 2,798 kilometres (1,739 mi) of coastline. To the north of the country lie the neighbouring territories of Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe; to the east are Mozambique and Swaziland; while Lesotho is an enclave surrounded by South African territory.
South Africa is multi-ethnic and has diverse cultures and languages. Eleven official languages are recognised in the constitution. Two of these languages are of European origin: South African English and Afrikaans, a language which originated mainly from Dutch that is spoken by the majority of white and Coloured South Africans. Though English is commonly used in public and commercial life, it is only the fifth most-spoken home language. All ethnic and language groups have political representation in the country's constitutional democracy comprising a parliamentary republic; unlike most parliamentary republics, the positions of head of state and head of government are merged in a parliament-dependent President.
Once I was anothers lover
Now I am my own
Trying to call myself a brother
Living here alone
Maybe if you came to see me
Wishing I wasn't so blind
Sitting here thinking to be free
Maybe we'd all change our mind
She is kind and beautiful
I am young and strong
We have never met each other
But it can't be long
Oft' I have slept by her window
Often I whisper her name
And wonder that words in the wind blow
