[Wahhabism is] sort of an extreme orthodoxy that historically has not been shared by a majority of Muslims, particularly nobody outside of the Arabian Peninsula.Wahhabism has been Saudi Arabia's dominant faith. It is an austere form of Islam that insists on a literal interpretation of the Koran. Strict Wahhabis believe that all those who don't practice their form of Islam are heathens and enemies. Critics say that Wahhabism's rigidity has led it to misinterpret and distort Islam, pointing to extremists such as Osama bin Laden and the Taliban. Wahhabism's explosive growth began in the 1970s when Saudi charities started funding Wahhabi schools (madrassas) and mosques from Islamabad to Culver City, California. The religious curriculum in Saudi Arabia teaches you that people are basically two sides: Salafis [Wahhabis], who are the winners, the chosen ones, who will go to heaven, and the rest. The rest are Muslims and Christians and Jews and others. They are either kafirs, who are deniers of God, or mushrak, putting gods next to God, or enervators, that's the lightest one. The enervators of religion who are they call the Sunni Muslims who ... for instance, celebrate Prophet Mohammed's birthday, and do some stuff that is not accepted by Salafis. And all of these people are not accepted by Salafi as Muslims. As I said, "claimant to Islam." And all of these people are supposed to be hated, to be persecuted, even killed. And we have several clergy -- not one Salafi clergy -- who have said that against the Shi'a and against the other Muslims. And they have done it in Algeria, in Afghanistan. This is the same ideology. They just have the same opportunity. They did it in Algeria and Afghanistan, and now New York. ...Wahhabis don't believe in tombstones, don't believe in images being acceptable, don't believe in statues. They believe all of these are forms of polytheism. A majority of Muslims don't share that degree of literal reading of religious texts or banning of these kinds of reflections. The overall trend in recent years shows most countries moving away from Capital Punishment. Not so in the Middle East where an increasingly isolated group of entrenched executioners is fuelling the latest spike in global figures. Is the chance of serious debate on the matter plausible in the Middle East? Will the abolition of Capital Punishment in the area ever be a reality or is the mere suggestion laughable? On this episode of Forbidden Talk these are just some of the questions we'll be discussing with a host of experts.

Fox News 2015-03-24Wahhabism (Arabic: وهابية) is an ultra-conservative branch of Sunni Islam. It is a form of Salafism, and a religious movement within Sunni Islam Wahhabism was developed by an eighteenth century Muslim theologian, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1703–1792) from Najd, Saudi Arabia. Ibn Abd Al-Wahhab advocated purging Islam of what he considered to be impurities and innovations. His has become the dominant form of Islam in Saudi Arabia. Its adherents prefer to be referred to as Salafis.
The movement claims to adhere to the correct understanding of the general Islamic doctrine of Tawhid, on the "uniqueness" and "unity" of God, shared by the majority of Islamic sects, but uniquely interpreted by Ibn Abd Al-Wahhab. Ibn Abd-al-Wahhab was influenced by the writings of Ibn Taymiyya and questioned classical interpretations of Islam, claiming to rely on the Qur'an and the Hadith. He attacked a "perceived moral decline and political weakness" in the Arabian Peninsula and condemned what he perceived as idolatry, the popular cult of saints, and shrine and tomb visitation.
Men with both roots and wings
they tie us down and ask us to leave
they are teachings unheard, they are bodies on smoke
Men with both roots and wings
at a singular voice we moan
our teachings mislead, our teachings like smoke
we sleep between the storm that was
and the storm which has to come
We've learnt to learn everywhere
and the very own nature has taught us to wait
difference does sound like sin, equality reliefs
and that fame rhymes with hate yet everything is fair
on the intervals of your death
misguided demons or forthcoming heroes
each one with an important name
nothing else than an important name.
Men with both roots and wings
at a certain time we are one
our little tricks, our innocence stubborn
Men with just little wings, men with just little minds
Men with just little eyes, men with just little deeds
sleeping between the storm that was
and the wind which fails to come (and finally)
Need to ask a question
Calling out my name
Nothing seems to bother
Wish I had a clue
C'mon abuse me more I like it
Well I don't think you like me
Well I hate you as well
No one seems to like you
Wish I couldn't tell
C'mon abuse me more I like it
C'mon keep talking 'cause it's true
miro
colgada en el vacío
que lejos han quedado mis fuerzas
y el destino .
salgo
en busca de un buen trago
ni así puedo olvidarte
me abandonó el coraje .
no es cuestión de orgullo
ni de pena
ni nostalgia
ni agonía en mí
ahora que no tengo nada mío
me queda el abismo .
habla
pero un momento sólo
tu lengua es la navaja
que raja mis entrañas .
calla
no sabes lo que hablas
me están entrando ganas
de acariciar mi cama .
yo no necesito ver tu cuerpo
escupiendo la agonía en mí .
ahora que no tengo nada mío
A noite me leva pra rua
Promete o que eu quero
E toma o que eu tenho
Promessas fazem o meu sangue ferver
E o asfalto queimar
Mas atravesso com os olhos fechados
Só a luz da rua como testemunha
É tão calmo por aqui
Quando eu me rendo às suas promessas
Esqueço tudo que tem gosto amargo
O tempo não passa
Quando falo sozinho
Ninguém sabe onde estou
Nem pra onde eu vou
Mas se tudo der errado
Eu quero estar do seu lado
Dançando à beira do precipício
Abyssum
I am changing by time
Like everything that grows
Seed to flower, sometimes I get scared
Sometimes I get scared
Cause the changes are unknown
But my belief in faith
Make the unknown known for me,
For me...
Sailing on the open sea
Crystal clear as your eyes
Why, why are they closed?
I'm blind in the dark
Blind in the dark...
As the wind turns on my way to freedom!
Who's gonna take away all of my pain?
Who's gonna save me from drowning?
Wake me now
Open my eyes
Let me see the daylight
Sailing on the open sea
Crystal clear as your eyes
Why, why are they closed?
I'm blind in the dark
Blind in the dark...
Wake me now
Open my eyes
Dejame, pedirte un deseo
te quedes un momento estoy perdiendote
es asi, somos como un desierto
sin agua, sin aliento, para sobrevivir
tu amor me hace entrar
en medio del abismo
tu amor me hace entrar
sabes bien que es asi
lo supe desde siempre
dejame, pedirte otro deseo
te quedes un momento, estas perdiendome
sale el sol, pero no amanece
no hay agua bajo el puente
tampoco en mi alma
tu amor me hace entrar
en medio del abismo
tu amor me hace entrar
sabes bien, que es asi
lo supe desde siempre
espero tu voz cada minuto
por siempre, por siempre
tu amor me hace entrar
en medio del abismo
tu amor me hace entrar
sabes bien, que es asi
Bem daqui onde estou
Já não dá pra voltar
Nas alturas do amor
Onde você chegar
Lá eu vou
E o que mais a fazer
A não ser me entregar?
A não ser não temer
O abismo em seu olhar
Ou é mar?
Ah, ah, ah...
No seu olhar...
Não há precipícios
Na vertigem do amor
Só descobre isso
Quem se jogou
Não sou eu que me faço voar
O amor é que me voa
E atravessa o vazio entre nós
Pra te dar a mão
Não sou eu que me faço voar
O alto é que me voa
Meu amor é um passo de fé
No abismo em seu olhar
Ah, ah, ah...
No seu olhar
Ah, ah, ah...
Me vejo andar no ar
Lá no abismo lindo
No seu olhar
Não há precipícios
Na vertigem do amor
Só descobre isso
Quem se jogou
Ah, ah, ah...
No seu olhar
Ah, ah, ah...
Me vejo andar no ar
Lá no abismo lindo
No seu olhar
Ah, ah, ah...
No seu olhar
Ah, ah, ah...
Me vejo andar no ar
Lá no abismo lindo
I am afraid of turnin' to the dark side of my life
living a life consumed by slow decay
I am afraid of looking inside
search for a love that I can't find
I am afraid, afraid to live forever
Use me, abuse me
Esse amor faz sofrer
E maltrata o coração
Difícil conter
Se é bem mais forte a tentação
Se querer por querer
Não alivia e eu desabafo
Me rendo, me entrego, me castro
Quem me dera o prazer
Percorresse o abismo e o sol
Aquecesse as emoções
E fizesse de abrigo um sonho
Nos braços da felicidade
Nada mais restou, para construir
Quem dera tudo acontecesse assim
Never thought that you would find another man and you would slip away
Cause I always thought that it was just another stupid fucking game you
play
Cause you could be my one and only
We could find a place to get away
My veins
Please me, use me, abuse me
Please me, use me, abuse me
Never thought that you would find another man and you would slip away
Cause I always thought that it was just another stupid fucking game you
play
Cause you could be my one and only
We could find a place to get away
My veins
And when you are right here, I feel fine
And maybe if you heard this song I wrote you
Maybe if you played along we'd be okay
You see I'm not okay
Please me, use me, abuse me
Please me, use me, abuse me
You could be my one and only
Please me, use me, abuse me
En el oscuro purgatorio
Torturaba su tristeza
Buscando en el silencio
Su vida con anhelo.
Lamentaba sus angustias
Con efímera voz implacable
Gritaba
Destrozando el silencio,
En el fondo de sus cimientos.
Odiándose
De no encontrar la salida
Apuñalaba
Sus gritos con amargura.
Dándole fin a su tormento, tormento
Su brillo se engrumeció en
Sangre
Y cayó en el abismo, en el abismo de la noche.
Y es hoy un vestigio perdido
El cual lleva su nombre.
