What We Do

UNDP advocates for change and connects countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in 166 countries, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. As they develop local capacity, they draw on the people of UNDP and our partners.

UNDP Yemen will  support the new government to implement the Peace and National Partnership Agreement (PNPA) and the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC). UNDP will work together with the wider UN system, World Bank Group and our development partners and focus on decentralization and local governance, elections, public administration reform, rule of law, youth and women employment, resilience building in rural and conflict-affected communities.  Empowering the people of Yemen - young and old, men and women, rural and urban, poor and marginalized – with knowledge, jobs, voice and dignity is the only way to build the foundations of a peaceful, democratic and prosperous federal state in Yemen, as enshrined in the NDC Outcomes.  This is UNDP’s vision.
