Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News VICE News and The New York Review of Books have teamed up to create Talking Heads, a series about the big issues of the day as seen by The Review’s most renowned contributors. In the first episode of Talking Heads, Orville Schell discusses his New York Review of Books essay, "China Strikes Back." Schell recently joined Jimmy Carter on a visit to China, where the former president received a less-than-warm welcome by the country's leaders. Schell argues that this reflects a dramatic shift in US-China relations. In his years of public service, Jimmy Carter is arguably best known for his work in establishing diplomatic relations with China. But 35 years after the creation of these ties, how close are the US and China? VICE News sat down with Schell to discuss the significance of the diplomatic slight against Carter, and how the US might benefit from better understanding the "China Dream." *Breaking News* China EMP Attack Japanese Spy Satellite Chinese media and internet claims, that the space intelligence section of Japan Self-defence Forces revealed in its newest intelligence that China has destroyed the control chip of a Japanese spy satellite with a secret weapon. The attack reportedly happened when the satellite was tracking a Chinese J-20 stealth fighter jet in northwestern China. The satellite is the third Japanese spy satellite launched from Kagoshima, Japan. There are also claims by China that analysis by US military, like the previous incident of Chinese military blinding a US spy satellite with laser, is that this was China’s move to display its military strength in space. Chinese media goes on to claim that US analysts believe that China used the electromagnetic pulse weapon Poacher One in the attack. That is China’s top secret military research and development project. The PLA’s electromagnetic weapon Poacher One is able to transmit an electromagnetic pulse of several megawatt continuously for one minute to destroy all military and civil electronic information and communications systems operating within a few kilometres. It can also destroy an enemy’s internal chips. The report claims further that US military previously revealed that the PLA had sent a satellite near a US spy satellite and blinded it with spray of coating on its camera. PLA has lots of means to attack and interfere with satellites. US military is concerned that neutralization of US satellites by PLA’s space force will be its nightmare in war. However, the development of anti-satellite technology does not stop there. It may be the basis for the technology to intercept an ICBM. That will be a much greater worry for the US military. * Subscribe for more Educative & Truth Videos * Like & Share * go to our website http://www.advexon.com * Share your ideas and comment * WakeUp Channel --- https://www.youtube.com/user/truebiographyhd/ * Documentary HD Channel --- https://www.youtube.com/user/truedocumentaryhd/

As its military and economy have grown, so too have China's dreams of dominating an island chain centered on Taiwan and including Japan's Senkakus. China's increased belligerence in the region is part of its plan to control the Yellow Sea, the South China Sea and the larger East China Sea. Its military doctrine refers to dominance over the "first island chain," which encompasses the East China Sea. The next step is dominance over what Beijing calls the second island chain extending from Japan to Indonesia. Some analysts have even speculated about plans for a third island chain strategy extending as far as Hawaii. China military will take "defensive emergency measures" if aircraft enter the area without reporting flight plans or identifying themselves. China's defense ministry warned in a statement that all aircraft that fail to comply with its new rules for transit through the zone could be shot down. Media reports say that the ministry issued a map showing the new East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone, including what the Chinese call the Diaoyu Islands. The map of the new defense zone, pulled off a Chinese website, shows that it overlaps Japan's defense zone over the Senkakus, a group of uninhabited islands located south of Okinawa and north of Taiwan that sit atop significant oil deposits. Tensions escalated in February when Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe denounced what he said was China's use of fire-control radar in January twice on Japanese targets in the East China Sea. Japan's Defense Ministry said that it sent jets up 306 times in the 12 months ended in March 2013 and 149 times in the April-September period in response to Chinese incursions. The U.S. is obligated to defend the islands under the 1960 U.S.- Japan Security Treaty, which covers all territories under Japanese administration, including the Senkakus http://news.investors.com/112513-680586-beijing-east-china-sea-maritime-grab.htm?ven=fox_businesscp&src;=aurlaeu

Read more: http://asiasociety.org/blog/asia/video-five-biggest-challenges-doing-business-china Kent Kedl, greater China and north Asia managing director for global risk consultancy Control Risks, stopped by Asia Society Studios in New York recently to discuss common problems related to doing business in China. "As business people, our goal is to reduce complexity," Kedl said. "We want to reduce risk by understanding the complexity and then packaging it up so we can identify it. China resists that at every turn." In the video embedded above, Kedl breaks down the five biggest challenges he sees businesses struggle with in China: 1. Understanding why you're doing business in China in the first place. 2. Learning how to deal with a lack of information. 3. Figuring out the "story behind the story." 4. Being aware of the role of the government. 5. Avoiding generalizations and acknowledging China's regional complexities. Getting a handle on these issues is crucial for businesses, Kedl said, because "China is for the long haul." "It's not a nine-month mini project," he continued. "You're going to be there for a long time. It's going to go up and down, and you've got to have the staying power to really succeed there."
China -- a superpower emerging at breakneck speed. It's the Holy Grail for risk-taking entrepreneurs. Every day, hundreds of British businessmen arrive full of hope and expectation. It's the land of opportunity. It's a place where dreams can come true. But Chinese entrepreneurs, unleashed after 50 years of communism, are taking no prisoners in their own relentless quest for wealth. In the wild east, only the toughest will survive. These British businessmen are risking everything as they venture into the real dragon's den. Who will make their fortune and who will return home penniless? Tony Caldera's cushion business has been ruined by cheap Chinese imports. Today, his Liverpool factory stands deserted. There were hundreds of people working there. They all had jobs for life. They were the number-one cushion maker probably in Europe. Everything was made in England, and life was great, and they were all happy. All of a sudden, China has come along, and they just can't compete anymore. In a last-ditch attempt to salvage his business, Tony is taking a huge gamble. He's borrowed two million pounds to build a factory in a paddy field in China. Thirty-six-year-old Tony has bought a one-way ticket to Linping, a city in the heart of China's vast textile industry. If everything goes according to plan, Tony can rebuild his business and regain his crown as the king of cushions. On his first trip to China, Tony had a chance encounter with a woman called Miss Di. She convinced him that for a 30% share of the company, she'd make an excellent business partner. If you're going to do some business in China, you need a good Chinese business partner and he's got one. Miss Di has been supervising the construction of the factory and has now invited Tony to see the completed two-million-pound building. But when he arrives, things aren't quite as okay as he expected.

CQ Global Business Videos: China vs. India: Who Will Win -- (2011: 20 minutes) -- India and China are among the world's fastest growing economies which jointly contribute nearly 30% to global economic growth as the balance of economic power continues to shift from West to East. Both China and India are not emerging economies, they are actually "re-emerging." China and India have particular strengths and competitive advantages that have allowed each of them to weather the global financial crisis better than most countries and to gain ground in the "catching-up game" with the developed world. This video covers the strengths and weaknesses of each country and reviews the current status of their "economic race". Produced by Atma Global, Inc. The New York City's Department of Records co-hosts an evening celebrating the city's cultural heritage. A group based right here in New York is taking the lime light--Shen Yun Performing Arts. The dance and music company specializes in promoting and reviving traditional Chinese culture. The link between this ancient culture and New York's Department of Records may be stronger than you would think. Deputy Commissioner Eileen Flannely explains. [Eileen Flannelly, Deputy Commissioner, NYC Dept. of Records]: "There in our collections there is material from everywhere. And as you can imagine, the Chinese have had a huge influence in this city, with the culture, with their trainings, teachings. So when Shen Yun sent me a letter saying would you like to do a tea ceremony, we got together and we started to chat and we said, you know there is so much more than just a tea ceremony that you can do here." Wednesday's event was complete with a fashion show showcasing award-winning pieces of clothing from NTD's Han Couture Design Competition and a presentation about Shen Yun Performing Arts and how they are reviving China's ancient traditions. [Jean Mitchell, VP Media Relations, Shen Yun Promotions International]: "Tonight they are highlighting their records in New York city, of the Chinese ethnic people here. So this gave us a great opportunity -as you know the Chinese New Year is February 10th- to promote Shen Yun Performing Arts, which is rooted in traditional Chinese culture." [Randall Berman, COO, Continental Food and Beverage, Inc]: "I think It's been an excellent presentation here this evening, the tea ceremony was done extremely well, so I very much enjoyed that." After the presentation about Shen Yun, Randall Berman says he is not going to miss their show in New York this year. [Randall Berman, COO, Continental Food and Beverage, Inc]: "I plan on going online early. Because I know that it does sell out, so I want to get my tickets early." The New York Department of Records is now displaying the Chinese components of their collection at their building on Chambers Street in Manhattan. Shen Yun will be playing 11 shows in at New York City's Lincoln Center from April 20th through the 28th.
Sitting down to eat a traditional Chinese meal with friends is one of the best parts about living in China and one of the best ways to experience Chinese culture. Every so often, my colleagues invite me to join them for such a meal, and this time, I'm bringing you along with me. Chinese are communal eaters, so every dish on the table is shared. One of the signature features of a traditional Chinese meal is a circular table with a rotating platform holding all the dishes. There's no need to pass food around when the table does all the work itself. Nobody likes to drink alone, especially in Chinese culture. It's considered impolite to drink your beer or wine unless a toast has been made and others join you. A toast to others is a characteristic of Chinese dining, starting with the host first, then moving around the table over the corse of the meal. This is particularly common during business dinners, where it's not uncommon to experience pressure from your 老板 to finish your glass every time you drink. We devoured steamed sea bass, stir-fried squid tentacles, pork ribs, grilled shrimp, cabbage salad and baked bread. Then we had the privilege of concluding our dinner with delicious pork dumplings. Near the end of the meal, a starchy dish such as noodles or dumplings is served to ensure that everybody leaves the table feeling satisfied. You might be wondering why I'm eating on two different tables. That's because our party was too big for one table, so we had to split it up into two rooms. I hope you had fun joining me and my friends today as we enjoyed this delicious traditional Chinese meal. http://thefilmarchive.org/ July 11, 2012 Since the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, there have been numerous actions in federal courts to challenge the constitutionality of the legislation.[1][2] This article deals with the challenges by states against the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, reactions from legal experts with respect to the PPACA's constitutionality, several federal court rulings on the PPACA's constitutionality and the final ruling on the constitutionality of the legislation by the U.S. Supreme Court in National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius. Almost immediately after the passage of the Affordable Care Act, the Virginia state legislature passed a law that purported to nullify the individual mandate provision of the federal Act.[26] Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli then sued Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Cuccinelli's lawsuit was separate from the states participating in Florida's lawsuit. The case was heard by Judge Henry E. Hudson, who was appointed to the bench by George W. Bush. On May 24, 2010, the Obama administration filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that states cannot escape federal law simply by passing state laws that contravene federal ones.[27] Cuccinelli filed a counter-motion on June 7, rebutting federal claims and asserting that health insurance was not commerce as intended by the Constitution, and, thus, was not subject to regulation by Congress.[28] A hearing was held on July 2, where similar arguments were put forth by both sides.[29] On December 13, 2010, Hudson ruled that the individual mandate portion of the health care bill was unconstitutional. However, Hudson did not block implementation of the law while the case continued working its through the court system.[30][31] The Obama administration appealed the case to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, which granted a request from both parties for an expedited process. On February 3, 2011, Cuccinelli announced that he intended to file an appeal directly with the Supreme Court, bypassing the Court of Appeals; this request was denied by the Supreme Court on April 25.[32] Hearings were held on May 10, 2011, and May 13, 2011, in Richmond.[33] In September 8, 2011, the appellate court reversed Hudson's decision, in a decision issued by Judge Diana Gribbon Motz. The Fourth Circuit panel ruled that Virginia lacked subject-matter jurisdiction. The state law that was the basis of Cuccinelli's lawsuit was deemed invalid because Virginia lacks the authority to supersede or override federal law. Simply creating a law to use as a smokescreen for the guise of challenging a federal law did not constitute standing.[34] On September 30, 2011, Virginia requested that the Supreme Court issue certiorari to hear the case. The petition was denied on June 29, 2012.[35] On November 14, 2011, the Supreme Court of the United States issued a writ of certiorari to the United States Appeals Court for the Eleventh Circuit to consider appeals to its rulings in National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius and Florida v. United States Department of Health and Human Services. The Court heard oral arguments March 26-28, 2012 and decided the consolidated case on June 28, 2012. The Supreme Court upheld the individual mandate, but limited the expansion of Medicaid initially proposed under the PPACA. All provisions of the PPACA will continue to be in effect, with some limits on the Medicaid expansion.[47] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitutional_challenges_to_the_Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act

Thai celebrity rants about Chinese tour group pushing and cutting the lines at Korean airport Thai celebrity pushed around by queue-cutting Chinese tourists at Jeju airport, goes on epic rant A two minute rant by Thai celebrity Duangjai Phichitamphon about the unruly behavior of Chinese tourists at a Korean airport has gone viral, sparking furious online debate and condemnation by the media in Thailand. Although we are not quite sure why she is famous, at present she has close to 130,000 followers on Facebook. After being uploaded to the social media platform, it was not long before the video reached a large audience. According to Liberty Times Net, the story made it into several newspapers in Thailand yesterday, featuring headlines such as "Chinese Tourists Again Bring Shame on Chinese People." In the video, the angry Duangjai is seen being pushed around by a throng of Chinese scrambling for a tax refund booth, claiming that everyone was queuing in an orderly fashion before a Chinese tour group turned up. Touching on what is becoming a somewhat awkward topic these days, she goes on to complain about the state of the toilets at the airport, implying the Chinese were responsible for dirtying them. The video has since been subtitled with English and Chinese by another Facebook user named Pehree Mo. Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has returned to the top of the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list for this year, becoming the only show business personality to have ranked first in consecutive years. Fan, who was No. 1 last year, pushed Hong Kong's Andy Lau and Taiwan's Jay Chou to second and third places on the list based on income, media exposure and influence, and covering celebrities in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Basketball star Yao Ming was previously the only celebrity to have ranked on top consecutively - he was No. 1 for six consecutive years in the 10 years of the establishment of the list by Forbes China magazine. Fan's busy year has been packed with filming for her role in X-Men: Days Of Future Days and as Empress Wu Zetian in a mainland TV serial. She also had numerous advertisement deals and film festival appearances. http://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/movies/story/chinese-star-fan-bingbing-regains-top-spot-forbes-china-celebrity-100-list-20 http://www.wochit.com

Travel video about destination China. China’s Imperial City is located in the centre of its ancient Middle Kingdom, a gigantic and inscrutable empire beyond the Great Wall. The Imperial City is entered through the Gates of Heavenly Peace. After seven years of construction, Ming Emperor Zhu Di moved into his newly-established palace complex in which over eight thousand people lived in almost a thousand rooms. The palace served as both a residential and governmental seat to the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. A stone’s throw away from the old Summer Palace is the Garden of Harmonious Unity that was the favourite garden of the Emperor’s household who retreated to its cool lakeside shores during the humid months of summer. Close to Badaling the Great Wall Of China extends majestically across misty mountains. It is the largest Man-made structure in the world and was erected to protect the country from invasion from the North. The gigantic wall represented the division of two very different cultures. On one side the Central Asian Nomads and on the other the highly developed civilisation of the emerging Chinese Empire. Shanghai is a Gigantic City and a meeting point of both east and west. The shoreline is without a doubt the city’s main focal point and is a combination of past, present and future and contains the historic monuments and eye catching buildings of a great city. Famous explorer Marco Polo referred to Suzhou as the ‘Venice of the East’, a city that is particularly famous for its gardens. Many of its extremely elegant buildings are remnants of a glorious past. Yunnan´s most famous site is the unique Stone Forest Of Shi Lin, a forest of rock that extends for 27,000 hectares. Hong Kong is a city of the superlative with glimmering skyscrapers that seem to take root in the sky and one elegant building after another with shining glass and hi-tech facades. China is a world within a world!
Top Things to do in China! I know that this is long overdue and that I haven't posted a video in a while, but seriously China!! Anyways, this list is less about the top attractions in China and more about the best ones. Moreover, it features the off the beaten path destinations in China as well. So what are the most incredible things to do in China. Here's my take: 10) Changsha and the Mao Zedong Staute (长沙和毛泽东雕像) This is crazy, in the capital of Hunan Province there's a giant statue of Mao Zedong that looks like something out of Mount Rushmore. Definitely a top thing to see in China. 9) Bifengxia Panda Base (碧峰峡大熊猫保护区) The Panda Center in Chengdu is a bit over-touristed. That's why it's a great option to head to Bifengxia on the edge of the village of Ya'an, and up to this amazing place to visit in China. 8) Dunhuang Oasis (敦煌绿洲) Up in Gansu Province there are a lot of amazing places to see! The Dunhuang Desert Oasis is an extension of the Gobi and is unreal! 7) The Westernmost Section of the Great Wall of China in Jiayuguan (对中国的嘉峪关长城的最西端科) Sure, most people travel China specifically to see the Great Wall. Most head to Beijing. If you want an off-the-beaten-path option than Jiayuguan is perfect. 6) Yangshuo (阳朔) In Guanxi Province Yangshuo is awesome. Limestone karst landscapes and beautiful river scenes make this an easy addition to the top things to see in China. 5) Mati Si and the Cliff Temples (马蒂思崖寺) Mati Si is really cool. It's famous for the Buddhist Cliff temples, and they are very cool. Full of grottos and caves, this is a must see in China. 4) Zhangye Rainbow Mountains (张掖彩虹山) This was probably the #1 thing I was looking forward to in China. However, most people don't even know about it. The Zhangye Rainbow Mountains are unreal, and a worthy addition to a travel itinerary in China that is full of amazing attractions. 3) Shangrila and the Songzanlin Monastery (香格里拉和松赞林寺) Up on the border of Tibet in Yunan Province, the town of Shangrila is a really interesting visit. Lots of colourful people, interesting architecture, and the amazing Songzanlin Monastery. 2) Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces (龙的骨干梯田) Near Guilin, the Drangon's Backbone Rice Terraces are a must-see in China. They were close to ending up as the number one thing to see in China on this list, but even the amazing landscapes of this place couldn't beat out... 1) Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and the Avatar Mountains (张家界国家森林公园和阿凡达山) Actually, this was fairly easily my #1 Thing to see in China. The avatar mountains in Zhangjiajie National Forest park are crazy cool. The incredible mountains were the inspiration for the movie avatar. You need to see this place with your own eyes! That's it for my list. What's on your top attractions list for China? 看到中国最好的东西 中国旅游景点 中国旅游 For more from this video including photos, check out my blog http://www.brendansadventures.com

Things to do in China Travel Guide: Guangxi Province (Guilin, Yangshuo, Li River, Rice Terraces) playlist: 1) A tour of Yangshuo night life including visiting a night market and eating Chinese street food (阳朔夜市和街头食品) China 2) Red Yao Hill Tribe Long Hair Performance at Lonji Longsheng Rice Terrace in Guilin, China (瑤族 - 瑶族) (龙胜梯田 - 龍勝梯田) 3) Li River Bamboo Boat Cruise down the Li River from Guilin to Yangshuo, China (Lijiang: 从桂林到阳朔漓江竹游船) 4) Hiking up Longsheng Rice Terraces (Longji Dragon's Backbone) in Guilin, China (龙胜梯田 - 龙脊梯田) 5) Bicycle ride around scenic rural and countryside areas just outside of Yangshuo, China (骑自行车在阳朔乡间) 6) A tour around Guilin, China at night including night markets, street food, pagodas and lakes 晚上桂林 7) Taking the train in China from Hong Kong to Guangzho en route to Guilin travel video So tonight is our very last night in Yangshuo, a charming little town in Southwestern China, so we're going to show you around the main strip. So our first stop is going to be the street food market. I haven't eaten in maybe two hours, so it's time to get a snack. If I had to choose between Guilin and Yangshuo the two most popular cities in this region it's definitely Yangshuo. It's a more historic town. It's a lot more pedestrian friendly and there are great As we were wandering around the night market tonight we had lots of people come up to us and ask to take photos beside us. At least probably four or five times and we finally filmed the last one. It was really cool. We were like celebrities in China. Yeah, almost famous. So, this market had some pretty cool souvenirs. We saw fake Chinese passports if you want to take one of those home. They also had combs carved out of ox bone. They had these stamps where you can get your Chinese name carved on them and then you can just sign documents that way which is pretty cool. Today we are visiting a local hill tribe that just lives a few hours outside of Guilin and we've come here because this community is known for the women's long hair. They grow it out and it's almost a meter and a half long and we're actually going to be watching a performance where they spin their hair and wrap it up and show us how they wear it. Today we're in between Guilin and Yangshuo and we're doing a special river cruise down the Li River. So this tour is going to be an hour and a half long and we're going to get to enjoy some pretty stunning landscapes, so I'm pretty excited about it. When I came here two years ago it was hazy and foggy. Now it's a gorgeous glorious day. Here we are at the Longji Rice Fields which are located just outside of Guilin. We've had such good luck. Check out the weather and the views behind. So we are hiking up to one of the viewing platforms. This is going to be tough because it's like forty degrees outside and we're been told it'll take 30 minutes to one hour depending on our pace. So I'm trying to stay hydrated. Audrey is going to have to workout We've rented a couple of bikes and we've decided to spend our last morning exploring around the countryside areas of Yangshuo. They were pretty cheap. Just under two dollars for each bike. So we finally made it to Guilin. So this is the Guilin main square. It gets really busy here at night. Lots of shops, restaurants, eateries. You can do it all here. Chinese singing. So we are now at the lake and the main attraction are the these two pagodas that light up at night. Background music playing. Oh, that mapo tofu looks so good. Really generous sized portion. Well, it's hard to believe but our time in Hong Kong has already expired. Today we're taking a train ride. Where are we going? We're crossing over into China. We are in Guangzho. Apparently there are two train stations. We arrived at the one that is on the East End of the City and we had to get across town to the other and it was difficult but we need to keep going. So right now we are in Guangzho station waiting for our train to Guilin. And we happen to be waiting in the VIP room. There is no tea in this tea room. We're going to Guilin. Uh, we're looking for number ten. So we're in the dining cart now getting ready to have dinner. Let's see what is on the menu if we can even read it. We barely got a seat here. Decision time. So we did manage to find an English menu which makes things a lot easier. Fish one. Tofu with pork. One. Okay. Rice. One Rice? Okay. Beer. One. Okay. Ah, green tea - one. okay. So this is the friend fish with a sweet and sour sauce. Good morning. We are almost in Guilin. Our train has been delayed about an hour and a half. World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube China Travel Guide http://bit.ly/12jcBNf Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of Xian, which was the first capital and the 10 biggest cities of China. Xian was the first capital of China. The heart of the enormous empire once throbbed here. Rows of imperial dynasties ruled from here over 11 centuries. This was the starting point of the famous Silk Road and the city with its 1 million residents was considered a huge metropolis at that time. Although the city lost its rank and influence after the revolution of Huang Chao in 875, it still belongs to the 10 biggest cities of China. The Asian countries have always been famous for their handicrafts and China is no exception to this. The making, coloring and processing of silk looks back on such ancient traditions as paper cutting, paper folding or the making of --. Chinese calligraphy and wooden engravings are also famous together with porcelain painting. In Xian, almost all fields of handicrafts are practiced, however the most well known are the carvings made of semiprecious stones. From light green jade and deep green nephrite, mostly little sculptures and ornaments are carved. The decorations and patterns of which imitate ancient statues. There are many dragon representations but of course Buddha sculptures are also made in large numbers. China joined the monument and landscape protection program of the UNESCO in 1985. From 1987 until these days, more than 10000 buildings have been declared monuments, 63 settlements have received cityscape protection and 27 treasures have been recorded in the world heritage list. The long list includes the imperial palace of Beijing, the summer palace, the temple of heaven, the Ming tombs, the sections of the Great Wall around the capital and of course the terracotta army. This spectacle can be found 1.5km east of the burial hill of Qin Shi Huang Di. The tomb of the strict ruler unifying China is 221 BC has not been excavated yet although there have been excavations in this 8 square kilometer area for decades. A farmer named Yang Gi Fa drilled a well from which water always escaped so he went down to the well to check the reason. Do there, he found himself face to face with a frightful figure. However this figure was not a monster or a ghost or even a skeleton or mummy but a clay statue which looked very real. In communist China in 1974, people had to be very careful about what they should report to the authorities and what not. After long pondering the farmer reported his finding to the museum of Xian and he got 30 yuan as a reward. Archeologists found one of the most significant artifacts of the world here, under the agricultural land. In several cultures, for instance in Egypt or South America, it was a custom to bury the dead lord together with all his people so that they could serve him even in the afterlife. From this custom, came the -- in Egypt which is a little sculpture who works in place of his lord in the afterlife. Probably it was a similar reason why this huge clay army followed their master to the grave. During the first excavations, some three enormous chambers were found deep into the ground. The biggest of them is more than 14000 square meters. Inside this, the 6000 armed men stood ordered in military formation. The man sized figures bore real weapons and accessories. Their makers didn't choose the easy way. They didn't just pour clay into forms. They formed them individually by hand which is evident by the fact that the face of all the figures have individual features. Maybe they really represented the actual people of the army of that time. The billions of dollars worth of renovations that resulted from being awarded the 2008 Olympics Games have transformed what some felt was dowdy backwater of a city into a modern metropolis any country would be proud of. Beijing is now blessed with top-quality hotels and restaurants, a world-class subway system - set to become the world's biggest by 2015 - and some of the most eye-catching and modern architecture on the planet. Yet beyond the modernity, this ancient city can still offer an incredible number of historic attractions, including its remarkable network of hutong alleyways, which provide a unique village-within-a-city atmosphere of slow-paced living and timeless charms. Beijing is also the country's most convenient launch pad for trips to China's most famous sight of all; the Great Wall. ========================= China, Beijing, Beijing Vacation, Beijing Tourism, Beijing travel guide, Beijing Nightlife, Beijing Restaurants, Beijing Shopping

Traveling to China is a culture shock so I want to give you a few tips to prepare you. Most people in China do not speak English, in the mornings I would make a list of what I wanted to do, the hotel would make me cards in Chinese and I would hand the one needed to the taxi driver. In the big cities, Beijing and Shanghai, it's not as bad as the smaller villages, but make sure you have them just in case. The people in China are very loud. It seems that they are always mad and always fighting, but that is just their culture. What I call the Chinese cough, disgusting, without tissues even during dinner. I went thru several bottles of germ x, but still I returned sick with the Chinese cough, and pretty much gave to everyone else...sorry :( Lines do not exist, and if you try to be polite then you will get nowhere. One instance, I was waiting for a taxi, it stopped and before I could get in a little old lady shoved me out of the way. Now it was pouring at this time and if she would have asked we would have gladly given it to her. The next taxi I was prepared, but before I could get in someone jumped in on the other side. 45 minutes of this, I had had enough, the next taxi that came; I was prepared for the little old lady and almost knocked her right in the mud. I'm not proud of this, but it had to be done. Another instance is when I was waiting in line at the airport, a little old lady ran into me with her bag cart. OUCH, I looked at her and gave her a smile as if to say it was ok, I understand your mistake. But guess what happened next? She ran in to me again, I looked back with a look of confusion and she pushed her cart into me again. She was trying to get me to move, to let her pass. I tried to show her I could not move due to a long line in front of me and she hit me again. Well, I already had a large bruise and I didn't think I could handle many more of those hits so I let her pass. Let me just tell you this, the guy in front of me was not as patient. Don't let these tips dissuade you from going because China and its history is so amazing. They just don't cater much to the tourist, so be prepared and have a great trip!

The Great Wall of China is a must-see and we saw it from Badaling. However - no one tells you that there is something YOU SHOULDN"T WEAR on your visit! Plus, it's easy to get some great pictures despite the crowds.... IF you follow my tips. Why was I frustrated travel to the Great Wall at Badaling? Because it took a long time for us to (1) Walk to the subway station (2) Transfer and get to our destination subway station where we then had to (3) get slightly lost trying to find the bus station before (4) finally finding the station and getting in line for what we hoped was the right bus and then (5) riding the bus to the Badaling Great Wall area after a girl beside us vomited because of motion sickness and then (6) walking for 15 minutes to get to the actual village/town at the base of the Wall and (7) finally finding the cable car to ride up to the wall so we didn't exhaust ourselves before ever getting to a good view point. However, it was still worth it! www.LaurenInAsia.com www.LaurenBercarich.com Lauren Bercarich

Shanghai - China Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Shanghai - China Travel Guide http://goo.gl/Cl0qNG Shanghai is the future all other Chinese cities aspire to reach. Forget creaking temples and dusty old palaces (there are plenty of them elsewhere); Shanghai is where people come to see modern China at its glimmering best. This fast-paced city of towering skyscrapers is, in fact, not without its own significant history. Its glory days of the 1930s helped build Shanghai's reputation as a City of Sin. But to pause for too long at the city's past would be missing the point: Shanghai is all about the future face of the world's future super power, and coming here is to witness what makes the business end of China tick. Perhaps best visited at the end of your trip to China, Shanghai offers history-tired tourists the chance to dine at glitzy restaurants, wine at funky cocktail bars and shop inside dazzling malls before resting up in the country's most impressive hotels. ========================================= Shanghai Museums, Shanghai Transport, Shanghai Tours, Shanghai Introduction, Shanghai Attractions, Shanghai Hotels, Shanghai Restaurants, Shanghai Shopping, Shanghai Nightlife, world travel video, Shanghai video, Shanghai, Shanghai Travel guide, Shanghai Tourism, Shanghai Vacation, China, China travel guide, China tourism, China vacation === Shanghai - China Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation, Travel Tips, Attractions
Music: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/keepers-of-stories-untold/id591031416# Shanghai (Chinese: 上海; Shanghainese: Zånhae; Mandarin pinyin: Shànghǎi) is the largest city by population of the People's Republic of China (PRC) [6][7] and the largest city proper by population in the world.[8] It is one of the four province-level municipalities of the PRC, with a total population of over 23 million as of 2010.[4] It is a global city, with influence in commerce, culture, finance, media, fashion, technology, and transport. It is a major financial center[9] and the busiest container port in the world.[10] Located in the Yangtze River Delta in eastern China, Shanghai sits at the mouth of the Yangtze River in the middle portion of the Chinese coast. The municipality borders Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces to the west, and is bounded to the east by the East China Sea.[11] Once a fishing and textiles town, Shanghai grew in importance in the 19th century due to its favorable port location and was one of the cities opened to foreign trade by the 1842 Treaty of Nanking which allowed the establishment of the Shanghai International Settlement. The city then flourished as a center of commerce between east and west, and became the undisputed financial hub of the Asia Pacific in the 1930s.[12] However, with the Communist Party takeover of the mainland in 1949, the city's international influence declined. In the 1990s, the economic reforms introduced by Deng Xiaoping resulted in an intense re-development of the city, aiding the return of finance and foreign investment to the city.[13] Shanghai is a popular tourist destination renowned for its historical landmarks such as The Bund, City God Temple and Yuyuan Garden, as well as the extensive and growing Pudong skyline. It has been described as the "showpiece" of the booming economy of mainland China.[14][15]

http://www.youtube.com/AllNews2013 آخر أخبار العالم جميع 2013 After centuries of Western dominance, the world's centre of economic and political weight is shifting eastward. In just 30 years, China has risen from long-standing poverty to being the second largest economy in the world -- faster than any other country in history. From angry farmers to weary migrant workers, powerful politicians and everyone in between, what China says and does, has become of undeniable importance to the entire world.
China’s economic growth rate fell to 7.4% in 2014, and many believe the official figure is actually more generous than the reality. Most forecasts expect growth to come in well under 7.0% in 2015. What are we to make of these trends? Are we at the beginning of a hard landing where the long history of structural inefficiencies are finally and inescapably being revealed and the possibilities of a financial crisis more ever looming? Or are we in a gradual shift toward a “new normal” of healthier and still relatively robust growth as a result of foresighted policy adjustments? Or is something else going on altogether? Beautiful Documentary from China. Unspoilt and pure marriage customs from a place untouched. 今古婚俗奇觀 香港 - 1987
Not much is known about this first Chinese dynasty -- in fact, until fairly recently, most historians thought that the Xia dynasty was a myth. But the archeological record has proven them wrong, for the most part. The Xia dynasty is thought to have been founded by Yu the Great, who was born in 2059 BC and considered a descendant of the Yellow Emperor. His capital was at Yang City. Yu is a semi-mythical figure who spent 13 years stopping the great flood and brought irrigation to the Yellow River Valley. Yu was the ideal hero and ruler ascribed a mythical dragon birth. He became god of the soil. China The Beginning (China's Origins) China is the only civilization that continues to hold sway throughout its entire territory as defined by its ancient borders. This three-part series documentary retraces almost 2,000 years of Chinese ancient history – a period that holds vital clues to understanding how this powerful nation was built. Many people forget that during the heyday of the Christian era, China was already a highly developed country. In this fascinating program we will focus on the heart of one of the most mysterious countries in the world. Witness the evolution of civilization and visit the places where the dignitaries are buried, also visit the mausoleum of China's first emperor Qin Shi Huang Di.

From books, to confetti, to origami, our lives wouldn't be the same without paper. Modern day paper making began in ancient China. Ancient Chinese Treasure Fleet: CHINA DISCOVERED THE WORLD (AMAZING HISTORY DOCUMENTARY) Did you know that 85 years before Columbus discovered America, Chinese ships longer than a football field sailed thousands of miles through unknown oceans and visited more than 30 nations? It's true! Adventures of the Treasure Fleet: China Discovers that World is the amazing story of these seven epic voyages and their larger-than-life commander, Admiral Zheng He. Beginning in 1405, Admiral Zheng He led more than 300 gigantic, brightly-painted ships across the South China Sea to the Indian Ocean and all the way to the distant coast of Africa. The admiral and his crew battled pirates and raging storms, and were amazed by the people and ways of life in distant lands. At each port, Chinese goods were traded for pearls, precious stones, herbs and medicines which were given as tribute to China's powerful emperor when the ships' returned home. Filled with historical facts, Adventures of the Treasure Fleet brings a fantastic piece of history to life. Gracefully told and beautifully filmed.
From the steamy kitchens of Canton to the arid moonscape of the north, food is the very heart and soul of China. But increasing development and dwindling water supplies threaten the nation's ability to feed itself. Meet the men and women who celebrate the glory of authentic Chinese cuisine - while working to preserve a healthy food supply for future generations. China Rises is a four-hour documentary series that combines the talents of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and New York Times Television to chronicle how the monumental changes unfolding in the planet's most populous nation could reshape our world.

After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1990, the US became the world's superpower. The US, then tried to contain its future rivals, that is Russia and China. With this aim, the US proposed the project of "the greater middle-east". The US occupation of Afghanistan, Iraq and its presence in the middle-east was not for fighting terrorism or establishing democracy but for controlling the the region as the main source of energy. This way, the US wanted to control the world and its rivals in particular. In recent decades, Russia and China have become more and more powerful in the international arena politically, economically and militarily. Now they veto the US just to show that the country is no longer the superpower. And the US knows well that with China and Russia, it will not be able to execute its plan to control the world as easily as it could three decades ago. PRESS TV Documentaries

Zeenews 2015-04-10China (i/ˈtʃaɪnə/; Chinese: 中国; pinyin: Zhōngguó; see also Names of China), officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is the world's most-populous country, with a population of over 1.3 billion. Covering approximately 9.6 million square kilometres, the East Asian state is the world's second-largest country by land area, and the third- or fourth-largest in total area, depending on the definition of total area.
The People's Republic of China is a single-party state governed by the Communist Party of China. It exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four directly controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), and two mostly self-governing special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau). Its capital city is Beijing. The PRC also claims Taiwan—which is controlled by the Republic of China (ROC), a separate political entity—as its 23rd province, a claim controversial due to the complex political status of Taiwan and the unresolved Chinese Civil War. The PRC government denies the legitimacy of the ROC.
Always on my own
I've been spending too much time all alone
I just can't go on, no
Nights go flying by
End this walk and empty talk
Turn the world into wine
You can't be here
Losing track of time
You are always on my mind
I've been too long without you
When the moment's drawing near
When you'll never disappear
I'm going to love you
I'm going to love you forever
Since you came along
You're locked inside me
Nothing can't go wrong when you're beside me
When I feel you next to me
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You take me out of the cold
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You held the darkness and fold yeah
Feeling sacred in your arms
I'm protected from all harm
You'll always surround me
Cos the moment's finally here
When you'll never disappear
I'm going to love you
I'm going to love you forever
Since you came along
You're locked inside me
Nothing can go wrong when youre beside me
When I feel you next to me
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You take me out of the cold
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You held the darkness and fold
We make love at first light
I know it's love and I know that it's real
I know it's love, we both know what we feel
I know it's for you, and I know it's for me
I'm going to love you for the rest of my life
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You take me out of the cold
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You held the darkness and fold
We make love at first light
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You take me out of the cold
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You held the darkness and fold
We make love at first light
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You take me out of the cold
In the middle of the night
In the middle of a lonely night
You held the darkness and fold
We make love at first light
Floatin' on a sea of mystery
A driftaround came unknown
But that China wind keeps callin' me
It knows where I wanna go
Chorus:
Oh China, I can hear you call
China, I can hear you call
You see, I really don't have the choices
My life is torn between lovin you and them
So I pretend to chart my courses
But I listen to that China wind
[Chorus]
Oh, China, ooh China, yeah China my friend
You're a little wrapped up inside a mystery
Yea, you are, China come again
And long, long ago I once had the power
To levitate the world with just my will
Yea, but I must gone wrong
That feelin's long gone
I belong to the China wind
[Chorus]
Oh, China, ooh China, yeah China my friend
You're a little wrapped up inside a mystery
Yea, you are, China come again
Oh yeah!
Everywhere you go they grab your hand and don't let go
Try to make you stay
They embrace you, give you everything you need
But they don't understand
One more day in your world, you keep on trying to avoid
Listening to what they say
All caught up in yourself, can't stop dwelling on the past
Just another wasted day
No, you don't care about what they tell you
They just make you feel insane
And you won't talk about what you've been through
You just live with the pain
They can't see through your eyes, you stand aside and analyze
Every move that they make
But if you take a good look around, it won't be long until you find
They care for you and everything they do is for your own good
No, you don't care about what they tell you
They just make you feel insane
And you won't talk about what you've been through
You just live with the pain
Why don't you give up the fight?
They might not always be right
But there's another way to fix this
Just let them into your world
Let everything unfold
Don't be afraid to let go of your loneliness
No, you don't care about what they tell you
They just make you feel insane
And you won't talk about what you've been through

Baby still looks like you're on your way to china
China, chi-nay, far away
Baby said how long you gonna stay in china
China, chi-nay, far away
I said I'll be back as soon as I can from china
China, chi-nay, far away
I said babe I hope you understand about china
China, chi-nay, far away
I'm walkin' with my baby but man I'm in china
China, chi-nay, far away
I'm talkin' with my baby but mmm I'm in china
China, chi-nay, far away
I come in on the run from china
China, chi-nay, far away
I tried to hug my baby some, she's in china
China, chi-nay, far away
O maybe somewhere down the line O china
China, chi-nay, far away
We'll get back the same time from china
China, chi-nay, far away
Baby said looks like you're on your way to china
China, chi-nay, far away
Baby said how long you gonna stay in china
I take a bottle of wine and I go drink it
Among the flowers, we are always three
Counting my shadow and my friend
The shimmering moon
Happily the moon knows nothing of drinking
And my shadow is never thirsty, when I sing
The moon listens to me in silence
When I dance, my shadow dances too
After all festivities the guests must depart
This sadness I do not know
When I go home, the moon goes with me
And my shadow follows me
China, saw your sister on the Nile/online
When I asked her, he admitted they all love
Come on down, we're gonna take you deeper
You're gonna be fine, you're gonna be asleep
And when the day comes
Come on down, we're swimming in the black now
Can't go forward, can't go back
When the end comes
China, heard you singing with your friends
I'll be back tomorrow when my body mends
I've traveled far
Over the oceans
Seen other worlds
Only one girl
Has my devotion
China my love
I dream about you
And I guess I've learned
There's no return
To life without you
Open your heart
I know that you can
You'll never find true love till you do
China it's true
China I know
You've been conditioned
But on this night
Maybe you might
Forget your traditions
There must be love
Somewhere inside you
And you must confess
Your happiness
Has been denied you
Ten thousand miles
Can't keep us apart
I swear I will come back to you
China I do
China your eyes
Say you're believing
All I want to do
Is make love to you
And not be dreaming
I´m adrift on a sea of mystery
I´m sailin´ round the Cape Unknown
But that China girl is waitin´ there
So I know where I got to go
Oh China, I can hear you call
You see I really don´t have the choices
I´m a prisoner of those oriental eyes
So I pretend to chart my courses
But I´m dreamin´ of those China nights
Oh China, I can hear you call
Oh China, Oh China, Oh China, oh yeah
Those oriental eyes are such a mystery
Yeah they are
China calls again
You see now long, long ago
I once had the power to levitate the world
With just my will
Well I thought that it was gone
How could I be so wrong
I belong to China now
In the month of May, in the glory of the day
Came the descendants of a hundred flowers
And their fight it did begin with the aging Mandarin
And they fought with an extraordinary power
Everyone was smiling, their hearts were one
In Tiananmen Square
But it seems that the Spring this year in Beijing
Came just before the Fall
There was no summer at all
In Tiananmen Square
China... China
There's peace in the emerald fields, there's mist upon the lakes
But something is afoot in the People's Hall
The spirit of Chu Ping is alive in young Chai Ling
And the Emperor has his back against the wall
Black sun rising over Tiananmen Square
Over Tiananmen Square
But it seems that the Spring this year in Beijing
Came just before the Fall
There was no summer at all
In Tiananmen Square
China... China
In the month of June, in the darkness of the moon
Went the descendants of a hundred flowers
And time may never tell how many of them fell
Like the petals of a rose in some satanic shower
Everyone was weeping in all of China
And Tiananmen Square
But it seems that the Spring this year in Beijing
Came just before the Fall
There was no summer at all
In Tiananmen Square
China... China
And even the moon on the fourth day of June
Hid her face and did not see
Black sun rising over Tiananmen Square
And Wang Wei Lin, you remember him
All alone he stood before the tanks
A shadow of forgotten ancestors in Tiananmen Square
And my blue-eyed son, you had no one
You could call a hero of your age
You have the rainbow warriors of Tiananmen Square, singing
China Shall Be Free
China Shall Be Free
China – Your eyes say something wild tonight
China – Do you know what I feel inside?
China – Silver skies are like your smile
China – Evenin' tide says stay awhile
Wait for the light of the mornin' star
The world is turnin' and here we are
Soon you'll see what the stars are for
They shine above they light the way to love
China – Nothin' in the city means as much to me
China – Than singin' here beside you beneath the trees
China – I look at you can this be true
China – I'm standing in a dream
Sleep like a child when the nights are warm
Deep in the darkness your dreams are born
When you awaken your dreams take form
They shine above, they light the way to love
China – Floating on the sea like a crystal ball
China – First you're here and then you're gone
China – You're everything and you're nothin' at all
China – The evening tide says stay a while, stay a while
Take it all in
instead of writing it down
trying to find a way
to get out of this town
seacrhing for contact
waiting on the last act
binding my time
because I'll never be back
hoping to find
that I'm one of a kind
willing to settle
for some piece of mind
I'm going to sail to china
or move to carolina
find my self some peace
and take myself some time to fall
and I'll fall and I'll fall
for the first pretty girl
and I'll give her my heart
and I'll make her my world
and we'll dance and dance and dance
we live and all we are
and all lives we're all unsure
all we do and all we see
and all we want and we need
all we feel and all we know
and all we hide and all we show
all take we take and all we give
She'll suck on anything you give her
Stare at anything that's shiny bright
Her voice cuts through the sea even when its stormy
But she's only two feet high - she'll get higher
I hope she sees some things that will make her time happy
It all comes in so fast it all comes in
She sleeps through almost any sound
Even when its screaming loud and clear
But she wakes up and smiles at a friendly voice
If it whispers softly in her ear
I see in her new face, a clear beginning
It all comes in so fast it all comes in
She knows who she is without looking
She says it out happy when the feeling is there
She's an all new person who says just what she feels
She's a fat faced goddess of nowhere
I hope she sees some things that will make her time happy

China, china, on the sea shore
China, china, on the dance floor
China, china, I must have seen your face before
I've been to cairo and I've been to khartoum
I've seen them places from my rented room
I've been to paris and I've been to marseille
But that was nothing till I got to cathay
I've been to new york and I've been to l.a.
I've been to delhi and I've been to bombay
I've been to venice and I've been to rome
But now it's peking that I think of as home
China, china, on the sea shore
China, china, on the dance floor
China, china, there's no finer place on earth
Ah Miss G Mary won't you C please G come home from D(7) China.

Ah Miss Mary won't you please come home cause I miss ya.
Your old spinster sister don't always give good advice.
Look at her she's in love with that drunken bandy-legged sheriff.
He'll unzip her pantsuit, but never leave his fat wife
CHORUS:
Ah Miss Em Mary won't you B please come home from C China.
A Come home from G China.
D Come home from C China Am6.
REPEAT CHORUS
Now that fake old beatnik poet the volunteer fireman.
He don't care if you come, he don't like I do.
He's in love with his dog and all his volunteer fireman.
And he is afraid to let the end of his versus rhyme.
REPEAT CHORUS x2
All the way to New York
I can feel the distance getting close
You're right next to me
But I need an airplane
I can feel the distance as you breathe
Sometimes I think you want me to touch you
How can I when you build the great wall around you
In your eyes I saw the future
Together you just look away in the distance
China decorates our table
Funny how the cracks don't seem to show
Pour the wine dear
You say we'll take a holiday
But we never can agree on where to go
Sometimes I think you want me to touch you
How can I when you build the great wall around you
In your eyes I saw the future
Together you just look away in the distance
China all the way to New York
Maybe you got lost in Mexico
You're right next to me
I think that you can hear me
Funny how the distance
Learns to grow
Sometimes I think you want me to touch you
How can I when you build the great wall around you
In your eyes I saw the future
Together you just look away in the distance
I can feel the distance
I can feel the distance
A billion hearts are beating
Far across the water
China
And when the sun is shining
Their land is cloaked in darkness
China
Silent eyes watching the western world
Guarded hearts hidden like precious pearls
Who can reach you, China
All the ancient wisdom
Passed down through the ages
China
Still has left you thirsting
For something that can heal you
China
Laboring under the crimson hand
Countless wheels turning at each command
Praying for you, China
Some recall the story
Told by distant strangers
China
Whispered like a rumor
The King of Hearts is coming
China
Hands of love knock at your mighty wall
All your tears Jesus has felt them fall
He's calling to you, China
Praying for you, China

China, china, the evening's moving in
See you, soon now, the boat moves with the wind
China, china, I can see the harbour lights
Light your, fire, we'll be warm tonight
China, china, the thoughts drift from the sea
I'm dreaming, of you, wear your dress for me
China, china, the oceans on the wheel(? )
The seagulls flying lower now
China I can feel you by my side
Across the bay, across the tyne
Can you hear me say
China, china, wear your hair down low
Lady, lady, you're frozen to the bone
China, china, the catch was good today
The oilskins clinging to my back
And the lantern gently sways
Oh don't you cry, the kids to bed
Didn't mean the things I said
China, china, the years go rolling by
Laughter, sorrow, I will not make you cry
China, china, think before you speak
Always remember the ocean hauls as deep
And if I'm tired of feeling low
Don't let me sleep, you know
China, china, the men are on the quay
Drinking, smoking, talking quietly
The water's calmer now
All my work is done
