This film is a combination of several visits. The film was invariably captured on cold and windy days (even in summer). There is a well know spot on the Moray Firth where the dolphins appear just meters away from the beach, as the beach shelves really steeply. It was estimated that the number in the Firth on one of those days of filming was about 50-70, it's difficult to be sure. You can get a sense of the numbers in some of the opening shots as you can see pods swimming both close by and away in the distance. There are many many youngsters with the adult dolphins, see if you can spot them. The film is in three sections. First the approach, then a feeding frenzy. I have tried to put this feeding activity into slow motion first. In fact, I did not realise what I had filmed until I got it onto the computer and saw the images frame by frame. It is a challenge to see, but large salmon are leaping out the way in a desperate attempt to avoid the predators. You could call it a salmon leap. One salmon even gets thrown out of the way by a blow from a fin. It's all quite desperate and you can begin to feel sorry for the salmon. And finally, these are social animals, so we see them rolling around, leaping, playing and caressing each other as they go on their way again. Look out for the extra characters at the end. Do YOU fly or want to fly a remote controlled aircraft in the UK?
To avoid injuring or killing people first and foremost, but also therefore becoming the person who causes a huge shake up in who can and cannot legally operate Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, (RPAS) make sure you know UK CAA airspace regulations with regard to RC aircraft under 20Kg.
Here's a basic summary of the ones to keep in mind:
• The maximum permitted altitude is 400 feet (120 metres) above ground level
• The maximum distance RPAS can be flown from the operator is 500 metres
• The minimum visibility needs to be 5 km
• RPAS must be flown in line of sight of the operator
• An RPAS cannot be flown at night without special permission from the CAA
• Permission must be obtained from the owner of the take-off point
• An RPAS cannot be flown within 50 metres of structures, vehicles or people that are not under the control of the person in charge of the aircraft
• An RPAS cannot be flown over or within 150 metres of any built up area

The Moray Firth (/ˈmʌrifɜrθ/; Scottish Gaelic: An Cuan Moireach or Linne Mhoireibh) is a roughly triangular inlet (or firth) of the North Sea, north and east of Inverness, which is in the Highland council area of north of Scotland. It is the largest firth in Scotland, stretching from Duncansby Head (near John o' Groats) in the north, in the Highland council area, and Fraserburgh in the east, in the Aberdeenshire council area, to Inverness and the Beauly Firth in the west. Therefore three council areas have Moray Firth coastline: Highland to the west and north of the Moray Firth and Highland, Moray and Aberdeenshire to the south. The firth has more than 800 kilometres (about 500 miles) of coastline, much of which is cliff.
A number of rivers flow into the Moray Firth, including the River Ness, the River Findhorn and the River Spey. Various smaller firths and bays are inlets of the firth, including the Cromarty Firth and the Dornoch Firth. The Pentland Firth has its eastern mouth at the Moray Firth's northern boundary.

Moray (pronounced Murray, Scottish Gaelic Moireibh or Moireabh, Latin Moravia) is one of the 32 council areas of Scotland. It lies in the north-east of the country, with coastline on the Moray Firth, and borders the council areas of Aberdeenshire and Highland.
The Moray council area was established in 1975; see History of the subdivisions of Scotland and History of local government in Scotland.
The Moray council area was created in 1996, under the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994, with the boundaries of the former Moray district of the two-tier Grampian region.
Local government districts had their own directly elected councils. Therefore, they were said to be part of a two-tier system of local government. This was abolished by the 1994 legislation, in favour of unitary council areas. The districts, and the regions, had been formed in 1975, under the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973.
The Moray district had been formed by combining the local government county of Moray, except Grantown-on-Spey and Cromdale areas, with Aberlour, Buckie, Cullen, Dufftown, Findochty, Keith and Portknockie areas of the county of Banff. The Grantown-on-Spey and Cromdale areas had been combined with Kingussie and Badenoch areas of the county of Inverness to form the Badenoch and Strathspey district of the Highland region.

A great day off work with glorious sunshine. Before breakfast we watched a mother and her newly born calf gently swimming by the harbour mouth, then from our "back garden" we watched a pod leaping in the sun. Later we spent the afternoon to early evening on our friends boat. We were escorted by the pod who were returning east, still leaping and enjoying the sun!! What a gift...Music "Gate Gate" Deva Premal.

WHILE their Highland neighbours continue to get accustomed to having a major honour around, Inverness Caledonian Thistle have relinquished their grip on the Scottish Cup. But their hands had to be prised from the old trophy ... He was eventually replaced by Otso Virtanen ... Inverness' hopes went up in a puff of Stokes after the Irish striker emerged from the icy haar that drifted in from the Moray Firth to clinch victory for the visitors....
