Wiecie że mówię o was. Gdyby nie wy umarłbym z nudów ;) Enjoy! PS. Fotoobrazy/fototapety: http://maciejmargas.pl/wydruki.html // WARSAW 24H is the final effect of the timelapse project I started in November 2012. I wanted to show Warsaw as it can be seen from its highest skyscrapers - as a majestic, beautiful city - not the one we get used to every day. I wanted to show Warsaw the way I love it. During the production I was able to visit rooftops of buildings such as Cosmopolitan, Złota 44, Marriott, Millenium Plaza, Rondo 1, and the tower of the st. Augustine's Church. And also some other places. I would like to thank all the people who were willing to help me, even though in some cases I didn't manage to use what they kindly offered. I would also like to thank Sebastian Nibisz who allowed me to use his program for post-processing HDR photos - SNS HDR PRO, http://www.sns-hdr.com/. I strongly recommend his work. // edit: The movie is shown on the internet as the 'HDR timelapse' which is not true :) The fact I could use the program for my work doesn't mean i always did it... And last but not least, my gratitude goes to all those on whom I could rely on during the shooting. You were my company and contributors. If it hadn't been for you, I would have died of boredom ;)

In this program, we visit Krakow, with its bubbly Baroque and cobbled charm, which is emerging as the exciting "next Prague." Nearby, a visit to Auschwitz teaches us a timeless, soul-searching lesson. Systematically destroyed during World War II, Warsaw is a lively, thriving capital once again. © 2004 Rick Steves' Europe
This is a rare recording of Warsaw, from the self-titled album Warsaw, released in 1994. Recorded at Arrow Studios, Manchester, England, May 1978. There are few clips of the early Joy Division when they were known as Warsaw. I have uploaded all of the songs from the album with no copyright infringment intended. I make no profit from uploading these clips, and they are available purely for enjoyment and educational use. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via a Video Comment or by sending me a Profile Comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible. To hear this song in high-quality, add the following text to the end of the URL: &fmt;=18 Produced and written by Warsaw. Co-produced and engineered by Bob Auger, final mix by John Anderson.
The Warsaw Ghetto was established by the German Governor-General Hans Frank on October 16, 1940. Frank ordered Jews in Warsaw and its suburbs rounded up and herded into the Ghetto. At this time, the population in the Ghetto was estimated to be 400,000 people, about 30% of the population of Warsaw; however, the size of the Ghetto was about 2.4% of the size of Warsaw. The construction of the ghetto wall started on April 1, 1940, but the Germans closed the Warsaw Ghetto to the outside world on November 16 that year. The wall was typically 3 m (9.8 ft) high and topped with barbed wire. Escapees could be shot on sight. The borders of the ghetto changed many times through the next years. The ghetto was divided by Chłodna Street, which due to its importance (Warsaw's major street leading to the east) was excluded from it. The area south of Chłodna was known as "Small Ghetto", while the area north of this street -- "Large Ghetto". Those two parts were connected by Żelazna Street (special gate was built at its intersection with Chłodna Street). In January 1942 a wooden footbridge, which after the war became one of the symbols of the Holocaust, was built there to ease pedestrian traffic. The first commissioner of the Warsaw ghetto was his chief organizer SA-Standartenführer Waldemar Schön. He was succeeded in May 1941 by Heinz Auerswald. On January 18, 1943, after almost four months without any deportations, the Germans suddenly entered the Warsaw ghetto intent upon a further deportation. Within hours, some 600 Jews were shot and 5,000 others rounded up. The Germans expected no resistance, but preparations to resist had been going on since the previous autumn. The first instances of Jewish armed resistance began that day. The Jewish fighters had some success: the expulsion stopped after four days and the ŻOB and ŻZW resistance organizations took control of the Ghetto, building shelters and fighting posts and operating against Jewish collaborators. The final battle started on the eve of Passover of April 19, 1943, when a Nazi force consisting of several thousand troops entered the ghetto. After initial setbacks, the Germans under the field command of Jürgen Stroop systematically burned and blew up the ghetto buildings, block by block, rounding up or murdering anybody they could capture. Significant resistance ended on April 28, and the Nazi operation officially ended in mid-May, symbolically culminating with the demolition of the Great Synagogue of Warsaw on May 16. According to the official report, at least 56,065 people were killed on the spot or deported to German Nazi concentration and death camps, most of them to Treblinka.

Visit http://www.masterpage.com.pl/warsaw-poland-about for much, much more about the City Of Warsaw Poland. That page as well as the parent site cover many topics related to travel and tourism in Warsaw. It tells you about shopping, things to do, places to eat and all about getting around in the City. It is perhaps one of the most comprehensive sites about Warsaw. Having been built by someone who lives in Warsaw, you get to see the city from ground level and learn what it is like to travel and live there. But aside from the City's physical location, it enjoys a unique location within the Polish culture. Poland is a country of regions with the people varying within each of the regions. And the regions fall into two general classifications often known as Poland A and Poland B. Warsaw could be called Poland C. That is because not only is it the capital of Poland, it is also the Country's financial center and, as a matter of fact, the financial center for Eastern Europe. As such it has attracted young people from all over the country who are interested in pursuing careers that are not generally available in the outlying districts. And the heavy concentration of businesses, as well as the political activity, have resulted in the pace of life being much more rapid than in any of the cities in the Country. The population is a mix of new and old cultures. Those who live in regions such as Kabaty, at the end of the Metro Line live in modern apartment complexes and tend to be young. Those who live in older districts such as Zoliborz live in buildings that were built after the war, but during the communist times, tend to be older. The lifestyles in both these districts, as well as other regions around Warsaw, differ significantly. Warsaw arose from the rubble after the second world war. It is difficult to comprehend what the Polish people did to rebuild their city. Here is a link to a video that might help to put Warsaw and its people in perspective. History Of Warsaw There is much more on the rebuilding of Warsaw at the Museum of the Warsaw Uprising. Today, Warsaw continues to rebuild. Many of the buildings that were erected after the war but during communist times are being torn down and replaced by modern structures. Large shopping malls and shopping centers are located everywhere from the Centrum to the outlying districts. You can see videos about them in the Warsaw Poland Play list. There are expensive and modern public transportation systems. In modern-day Warsaw, one does not need a car for everyday life. At a for the tourist, there is more than enough to keep one busy. One can choose sightseeing in Warsaw's old town or spending one's time at one of the modern beer drinking holes or pubs.

The Warsaw Uprising (Polish: powstanie warszawskie) was a major World War II operation by the Polish resistance Home Army (Polish: Armia Krajowa), to liberate Warsaw from Nazi Germany, ahead of the Red Army's advance. The rebellion coincided with the retreat of German forces and the Red Army's approaching the eastern suburbs of the city. Controversially, the Soviet advance stopped short, while Polish resistance against the German forces continued for 63 days with little outside support.

Warsaw - Poland Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Warsaw - Poland Travel Guide, Tourism http://goo.gl/HmkEIN Warsaw is a large and sprawling city of more than 1.7 million people that is split into somewhat uneven halves by the Wisła (Vistula) River. Most everything of interest to visitors is on the western side of the river around the modern financial district. Its centrepiece is the landmark Palace of Culture and Science (Pałac Kultury i Nauki), a Socialist-Realist confection which can be seen from virtually anywhere in the city. The epicentre of Warsaw for visitors is the so-called Royal Route (Trakt Królewski), which runs north-south from the New and Old Towns, past the fashionable shops of Nowy Świat, the palaces that survived the war and the royal gardens of Łazienki Park, before reaching Wilanów Palace to the south of the city centre. Warsaw's striking Old Town may look like it dates back several centuries but the old gal has barely reached middle age. The painstakingly rebuilt area was awarded a listing on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1980. Unmissable attractions in and around the Old Town include the Royal Castle, St John's Cathedral and the Citadel. Farther afield, make sure you visit the Warsaw Rising Museum for the story of the courageous men and women who rose up against their occupiers in WWII as well as the Palace of Culture and Science for the views. No surprising for a city that was essentially rebuilt from the ground up after WWII, Warsaw offers an inordinate amount of green space, with leafy parks where rowing boats cruise past outdoor cafés, during the summer, and free classical concerts attract crowds in a scene far removed from the dull Communist-era images of Warsaw. And don't miss the palaces and other historical and cultural buildings in the city's splendid Łazienki and Wilanów Parks. Warsaw's nightlife is one of the best in Eastern Europe today, with a multitude of bars and clubs scattered across the city as well as a generous dose of more highbrow entertainment such as classical music concerts and opera. Whatever you do, don't leave town without sampling the tipple of choice here in these parts: wódka (vodka). It comes in a myriad of flavours and hues - from myśliwska (`hunter's vodka'), which tastes a bit like gin, and wiśniówka (flavoured with cherries) to pieprzówka (pepper) and the famous żubrówka ('bison vodka'), which is flavoured with grass and favoured by the beasties in Bialowieza National Park). Poles traditionally drank vodka neat -- never in cocktails. The dining options have improved no end in Warsaw, with international cuisine regularly featured alongside Polish standards. And Polish cuisine has also undergone some major transformations, lightening up old favourites with less fat and employing fresher ingredients. =========================================== Warsaw Museums, Warsaw Transport, Warsaw Tours, Warsaw Introduction, Warsaw Attractions, Warsaw Hotels, Warsaw Restaurants, Warsaw Shopping, Warsaw Nightlife, world travel video, Warsaw video, Warsaw, Warsaw Travel guide, Warsaw Tourism, Warsaw Vacation, Poland, Poland travel guide, Poland tourism, Poland vacation, Poland Attractions, Europe === Warsaw - Poland Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation, Attractions, Travel Tips

Warsaw is Poland's largest city and an economic, political, and cultural centre. It's a bustling metropolis harbouring an unforgettable history and today offers parkland as well as a city full of culture - you will find historic palaces and churches amongst modern architecture, while cosy cafes compete with fashionable clubs. The city's history itself is believed to have begun with the creation and development of Old Warsaw (Stara Warszawa), which was set on what is today known as the Old Town (Stare Miasto). Mazovian Prince Bolesław II brought prosperous traders to the Old Town, and his headquarters were based there. Warsaw is also known for its famous musical resident, Fryderyk Chopin, who for the first half of his 39 years, was associated with Warsaw. It was in Warsaw that he studied music, where he was formally educated, and where his heart found its final resting place. The last time Chopin played a concert in Warsaw was in October of 1830, at the National Theatre. He died on October 17, 1849 and was buried at the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris. His heart, however, came back to Warsaw -- it was his most fervent desire to have his heart buried in Warsaw -- and it now lies in the Holy Cross Church (kościół św. Krzyża) on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street. Poland Tourism http://www.poland.travel/en-gb/ When visiting Warsaw, check out the following places: Łazienki Królewskie Park-Palace Complex: The park and palace complex at Łazienki is one of the most beautiful of this type in Europe. Established in the 17th century, the landscape gardens feature many interesting architectural monuments, especially the Palace on the Island built for King Stanislaw August Poniatowski -- Poland's last monarch. It served as his summer residence and was famous for the Thursday dinners. Wilanów Park-Palace Complex: The summer residence of King Jan III Sobieski and then Augustus II as well as subsequent aristocratic families. It stands as an excellent representation of European Baroque at its height and a homage to the former greatness of the Republic. The palace is surrounded by a grandiose, two level Baroque Italian garden and a romantic park in an English style. Wilanów is the venue of important cultural events and concerts. The former stables house the Poster Museum. Palace of Culture and Science: Completed in 1955 as a 'gift from the Soviet people', the building is the embodiment of Socialist Realist architecture. It is still the tallest building in Poland and fulfils the role of a cultural centre accommodating theatres, museums, a cinema and a concert hall. The highest viewing platform in Warsaw, on the 30th foor, offers an excellent panoramic view of the city. Warsaw Rising Museum: Opened in 2004, on the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, the museum pays tribute to all those who fought and died for their country's independence. Housed in a former tramway power station, the modern museum guides visitors through interactive displays, video footage and photographs. National Museum: The museum contains a rich collection of exhibits from antiquity to modern times. The building originates from the inter-war period. During the World War II it secretly stored some of the Royal Castle treasures. It organizes numerous temporary exhibitions presenting art from all over the world. The Vistula-side building wing is the Museum of the Polish Army presenting the history of Polish military featuring an interesting outdoor exhibition. Warsaw Zoological Garden: Established in 1928, the garden is now inhabited by several thousand animals, yet the real personalities of the Warsaw Zoo are the brown bears whose area is located outside the garden, near Solidarności Avenue, and can be viewed by passers-by. University of Warsaw Library: The facade of the building, which resembles a line of open books, is one of the most interesting examples of contemporary architecture in Warsaw. The roof garden is open to the public. Places related to Fryderyk Chopin: Fryderyk Chopin is undoubtedly the best known resident of Warsaw. He spent the first 20 years of his life in the city. Here he studied music, learned the manners of society and gave his first concerts. Walking the streets of Warsaw you will pass buildings where he stayed or which he visited. There are many places which are a homage paid to his talent and Warsaw boasts the world's largest Chopin memorabilia collection. Shopping in Warsaw - Poland World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Warsaw - Poland Travel Guide, Tourism http://goo.gl/HmkEIN Hundreds of new shops have sprung up all over Warsaw since the political transformations of 1989. There are also licensed and illegal street vendors that offer wares ranging from cloth napkins, wooden sculptures, cooking pots and freshly picked mushrooms. Key areas: The main shopping streets areas lie in the maze of streets between the Palace of Culture and Science and swanky Ulica Nowy Świat. The eastern end of Aleje Jerozolimskie and the southern part of Ulica Marszałkowska are also god bets. Check out the restored Ulica Chmielna too. Markets: With the demise of one of Europe's largest flea markets, known locally as the Russian Market, Warsaw's market scene is a little bare. There are still a few spots worth visiting, however, such as Bazar na Kole (Ulica Obozowa) in the western reaches of the city, which has mountains of junk and antiques to sift through, ranging from CDs and old postcards to farm implements and WWII relics. Shopping centres: Shopping arcades, both in and outside of Warsaw, have become very popular, including Galeria Centrum, Ulica Marszalkowska 104/122, the biggest department store in the capital; Arkadia, Aleja Jana Pawla II 82; and the very central Złote Tarasy, Ulica Złota 59. These malls and stores have both national and internationally known brands including H&M;, Levi's and Zara, and often in-house cinemas and restaurants. Opening hours: Shops in Warsaw are generally open Monday to Friday 1000/1100-1800/2000 and Saturday 1000-1300/1600. Usually open seven days a week, Warsaw's shopping centres and hypermarkets are the best places to stock up on Polish staples - such as pickled herring, preserved meats and, last but not least, vodka. Souvenirs: More than any thing else, arts and crafts are the main things to shop for on a visit to Warsaw. Particularly popular items that are widely available include glass and enamelware, hand-woven rugs, silverware, jewellery made with silver, dolls in regional costumes, woodcarvings and clay and metal sculptures. Probably the best spots in Warsaw for souvenir hunting are in the Old Town, among the colourful facades and artists' stalls. But the nationwide chain Cepelia, with four branches in the capital, including one at Ulica Marszałkowska 99/101, is a good place to start - its shops stock a good range of local handicrafts. Another much-loved item available widely is amber from the Baltic Sea. This can be sold in many forms, from large lumps to exquisitely carved necklaces. For art, bric-a-brac, curios and the odd real antique check out the chain of shops called Desa Unicum; its most central outlet is at Ulica Marszałkowska 34/50. Bear in mind that the export of anything produced up until the end of WW11 in 1945 is strictly controlled (though the people at Desa Unicum are very familiar with the procedures and will help with the necessary paperwork). Tax information: Tax-free shopping in Warsaw is available to non-EU residents spending a minimum of €175 or equivalent in one transaction at participating outlets. Driving down a boulevard with an ongoing explanation of everything I was seeing, I was inspired to pull out my little camera and make a video clip to share with you the delight of having your own private tour guide. Imagine hiring a guide like Hubert with a car for $160 for 5 hours. This clip finishes as we park at Ghetto Uprising Square to see the memorial about that horrific chapter in Polish history, and a sparkling new museum celebrating Polish Jews. And with Hubert as my guide, I had the best teacher a traveler could want. More information about travel to Warsaw: https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/poland/warsaw

In the early afternoon of May 11, 2012, my guide Agnieszka and I drove to the Wilanów Palace, often referred to as the "Polish Versailles". This extensive palace complex was a second home to several Polish kings and was built in the late 1600s as the summer residence of King Jan III Sobieski. The palace also features an extensive rose garden. Agnieszka and I continued our sightseeing with a stop at Warsaw's Constitution Square south of the Old Town, a monumental square that was constructed from about 1949 to 1956. It features some outstanding examples of the imposing Socialist Realist architectural style and was intended to be the end point of the Labour Day parades. Then we continued to the historic Praga district on other side of the Vistula River. It was founded in the 1400s and remained an independent city from Warsaw until the late 1700s. St. Florian's Cathedral is an impressive Catholic church that was completed in 1904 and rebuilt between 1952 and 1972 after complete destruction in WWII. Praga is also where the Soviet army stopped in 1944 and watched the Warsaw Uprising against the Nazis on the other side of the Vistula River without coming to the help of the Polish resistance fighters. Today it is an up and coming artsy district with many gritty bars and clubs that is also often used for film shots. Our last sightseeing stop was the Chopin Museum that is dedicated to the great composer Frédéric Chopin who was born in a small village about 45 km west of Warsaw. The museum was established in 1954 and completely restructured in 2010 and now features modern interactive displays about the composer's life and work. There are many listening stations where visitors can use state-of-the-art facilities to sample Chopin's music. The museum also features original manuscripts and documents written by the composer, photographs and sculptures as well as his death mask, taken after the composer passed away in 1849 at the young age of 39 years. The Chopin Museum also hosts many special events, concerts and recitals and has become one of Warsaw's most popular attractions. I concluded the evening of my last full day in Warsaw with a stroll through the historic Old and New Town areas. It was a gorgeous warm evening and thousands of locals and visitors were out, enjoying the ambience of Warsaw's attractive city centre. The restaurants were full, Warsaw University was holding a special event for all the students, and street performers, jugglers and entertainers on stilts were amusing the crowd on Castle Square. Taking in the lively atmosphere of the city was a wonderful way of ending my sightseeing experiences in Warsaw.

May 10, 2012 was a gorgeous, warm day and my first day in Warsaw. My local expert guide Agnieszka picked me up from the hotel and we started driving towards downtown Warsaw. Our first stop was "Umschlagplatz", the reloading point where Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto were gathered for deportation to the Treblinka extermination camp. Poland has suffered tragically in history, and the history of the Jews in Warsaw is one of the saddest chapters. Then we stopped at the Monument to the Warsaw Uprising where the Polish Underground Army fought the Nazis valiantly for 63 days before being crushed in October of 1944. Our walk continued to the New Town, a 15th century neighbourhood that was completely destroyed by the Nazis and rebuilt after WWII. Moving on, we stopped at the Warsaw Barbican, originally built as a fortification in 1540 and rebuilt between 1952 and 1954. It connected us into the Old Town, Warsaw's oldest historic district that was originally established in the 13th century. Old Town Market Square is a gorgeous square that is surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops. St. John's Cathedral and the Jesuit Church are not far away. This area was also completely destroyed by the Nazis and rebuilt meticulously in the 1940s and 1950s. The entire downtown of Warsaw was rebuilt so well that it has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status. The Royal Castle was next on our visit of downtown Warsaw on May 12, 2012. The personal and administrative offices of the King of Poland were located here from the 16th century until the late 1700s when Poland was divided between the Russian Empire, the Kingdom of Prussia and Habsburg Austria. Poland essentially ceased to exist as a nation for 123 years. After the unsuccessful end of the Warsaw Uprising in October 1944, the Nazis decided to take revenge and drilled thousands of holes into the castle and blew it up so there was absolutely nothing left. After WWII, a decision was made in 1971 to rebuild the castle, but it took until 1984 until the castle opened its door to the general public again. Today the Royal Castle is one of Warsaw's architectural jewels. From the Royal Castle, Agnieszka and I walked along the Royal Route on Warsaws famous Krakowskie Przedmieście boulevard, one of Warsaw's most prestigious streets whose architecture was rebuilt after WWII. Paintings by Canaletto from the 18th century are set up on the street and provide a view of what this promenade look like more than 200 years ago. Many of the views look surprisingly similar today. For lunch we headed into a local restaurant called Pierogi Naleśniki where we got to sample some hearty Polish food.

Museums in Warsaw - Poland World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Warsaw - Poland Travel Guide, Tourism http://goo.gl/HmkEIN Muzeum Pawilon-X (Block 10 Museum) Housed in the Citadel, a solid 19th-century fortress northwest of the Old Town and overlooking the Vistula, this Warsaw museum was once used as a prison for political enemies of the Russian czars. The lucky inmates were shipped to labour camps in Siberia; the less fortunate were executed at Brama Straceń (Gate of Execution) on the prison grounds. The original cells are still standing and labelled with some of the prison's more famous residents, and paintings by Alexander Sochaczewski, a former inmate transported to Siberia with 20,000 other anti-Russian insurgents in the mid-19th century, adorn the walls. Opening Times: Wed-Sun 0900-1600. Admission Fees: Yes Disabled Access: Yes Unesco: No Address: Ulica Skazańców 25, Warsaw, Poland Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego (Warsaw Rising Museum) The Warsaw Rising Museum is a must-see for those with any interest in history and tales of bravery and self-sacrifice. In order to get a taste of what life in Warsaw must have been like for Varsovians during WWII, this thoroughly comprehensive museum shows examples of how residents resisted the German forces through film footage, photographs, recorded interviews, life-size dioramas, soundscapes and informative plaques, written in both Polish and English. Cityscape pictures pinpointing the handful of buildings that survived WWII are located on the museum's elevated viewing platform; they are a grim reminder of the destruction wrought by the Nazis on Warsaw. Opening Times: Mon, Wed and Fri 0800-1800, Thurs 0800-2000, Sat-Sun 1000-1800. Admission Fees: Yes Disabled Access: Yes Unesco: No Address: Ulica Przyokopowej 28, Warsaw, Poland Muzeum Więzienia Pawiak (Pawiak Prison Museum) This eerie old prison symbolises the oppression that has dogged Warsaw over the last two centuries. Originally built in 1839 at the order of the czar, the prison counted among its inmates many victims of the Nazi reign of terror from 1939 to1944, when it served as the largest political prison in Poland. A third of the estimated 100,000 detainees never made it out alive. The Nazis tried to dynamite the evidence of their crimes as they fled but Pawiak and its exhibits stand as a testament to Warsaw's seemingly endless ability to suffer and survive. Opening Times: Wed and Fri 0900-1700, Thurs and Sat 0900-1600, Sun 1000-1600. Admission Fees: Yes Disabled Access: Yes Unesco: No Address: Ulica Dzielna 24/26, Warsaw, Poland Muzeum Narodowe w Warszawie (National Museum in Warsaw) The National Museum's impressive collection of artworks and other items dates from ancient times to the present day and total some 800,000 pieces. Highlights include Jan Matejko's monumental Battle of Grunwald (1878), which celebrates the Polish victory over the Teutonic Knights in 1410, and the Faras Collection of early Christian and Egyptian art, which is unique in Europe. The collection of medieval art is also remarkable -- if somewhat gruesome in parts. Unusually, there are also galleries of Polish and European decorative arts. Frequent temporary exhibitions bring prized international works (from Andy Warhol to Caravaggio) to Warsaw. Opening Times: Tues-Thurs, Sat-Sun 1200-1800, Fri 1200-2000. Admission Fees: Yes (free on Tuesdays) Disabled Access: Yes Unesco: No Address: Aleje Jerozolimskie 3, Warsaw, Poland Park Łazienkowski (Łazienki Park) This splendid park contains a number of palaces as well as the Chopin Monument, where the annual Chopin Festival is held each summer, with free concert recitals in the park twice on Sunday afternoon from mid-May to September) set within extensive 18th-century gardens. Pałac na Wyspie (Palace on the Water) is best viewed from near the monument to Jan Sobiewski, on the bridge where Ulica Agrykola crosses the water. Dating from 1624, Zamek Ujazdowski (Ujazdowski Castle) now houses the Centre for Contemporary Art. The 1764 Pałac Belweder (Belvedere Palace) was of the residence of Poland's presidents until 1994. Hotels in Warsaw - Poland World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Warsaw - Poland Travel Guide, Tourism http://goo.gl/HmkEIN As Warsaw has become increasingly tourist friendly over the years, it has made allowances for various travellers by opening several budget and mid-range hotels, thereby completing the range between 5-star travel and student hostels. Please note that, with the exception of the lower budget hotels and hostels, prices for rooms are generally usually quoted in euros. The Warsaw hotels below have been grouped into three pricing categories: Luxury (over €160) Moderate (€60 to €160) Cheap (up to €60) These prices are based on the lowest standard rates for a double room, excluding taxes and excluding breakfast, unless otherwise specified. Mamaison Hotel Le Regina Warsaw Mamaison Hotel Le Regina Warsaw is a cut above the competition. Located just north of the Old Town in a quiet neighbourhood, it's housed in a gorgeous 18th-century palace and filled with period furniture. But the hotel is modern where it counts, with sparkling new bathrooms and Wi-Fi connection throughout. Rooms are bright, breezy and decorated in eye-catching chocolate and beige. Le Méridien Bristol Dating back to 1899 and just a few minutes' walk from the Old Town Square, this member of the Leading Hotels of the World retains its old-world ambience and style remarkably well. The rooms are decorated in muted tones with period-style wooden furniture and benefit from sweeping high ceilings. The lobby contains several boutiques, a cigar store and a newsagent. The Marconi Restaurant, one of the hotel's two restaurants, offers a delicious all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch, while the hotel's super café serves exquisite desserts. Radissson Blu Centrum Hotel Warsaw The rooms at this top-class hotel offer a choice of three styles of décor ranging from `Maritime' and `Scandinavian' to `Italian'. Each style differs through its colour scheme, furniture and layout. The Italian style is most whimsical. Staff are accommodating, and there's a first-rate fitness centre in the basement, featuring a pool, fitness machines plus massage and beauty services. Harenda Hotel A well-priced accommodation in the heart of Warsaw, Harenda offers simple rooms equipped with a TV and safe. The lobby is welcoming and once you've checked in, you can climb the large wide staircase to find your room. Note that some of the rooms/suites have been rented out for business purposes (eg doctors' offices) and that some singles are on the small size. The hotel entrance is off Krakowskie-Przedmiescie to the left; you're really paying for the location here. Maria Hotel Away from the city centre, but handy to the city's Jewish sights and just a few tram stops from the Old Town, Maria Hotel is a small, family-run and family-friendly hotel with modern amenities and a decent restaurant on the premises. Rooms are generally big, bright, and airy, and all are en suite. It's in a rambling old house with rooms set over three floors (no lift) with atmosphere in spades and a friendly, welcoming staff. Castle Inn Castle Inn Oki Doki has plenty going for it. It's the only hotel within the limits of Warsaw's Old Town, is stumbling distance from the Royal Castle, and is housed in a 17th-century tenement house that miraculously survived WWII. Rooms (most of which are 3-star, a handful 4) are colourful ensembles, each sporting a unique and playful theme, such as 'Alice in Wonderland' or 'Oriental Express'. `Viktor' is named after a reclusive street artist, complete with artsy graffiti. =========================================== Warsaw Museums, Warsaw Transport, Warsaw Tours, Warsaw Introduction, Warsaw Attractions, Warsaw Hotels, Warsaw Restaurants, Warsaw Shopping, Warsaw Nightlife, world travel video, Warsaw video, Warsaw, Warsaw Travel guide, Warsaw Tourism, Warsaw Vacation, Poland, Poland travel guide, Poland tourism, Poland vacation, Poland Attractions, Europe === Warsaw - Poland Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation, Attractions, Travel Tips
Transport in Warsaw - Poland World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Warsaw - Poland Travel Guide, Tourism http://goo.gl/HmkEIN Public transport: The Municipal Transport Board - ZTM operates the bus and tram network, connecting all parts of Warsaw, as well as the single metro running north-south (a second east-west line will open in 2013). Night buses converge on Ulica Emilii Plater, next to the Palace of Culture and Science. Tickets, valid for all modes of transport, are available at Ruch and Relay kiosks, post offices and some shops and hotels. It is also possible to purchase tickets on board buses, but a surcharge will apply. With every change of vehicle, a new ticket must be punched in the metal boxes inside the bus or tram, or before entering the platform on the underground. One-day passes are valid for 24 hours after you first punch the ticket. Three- and seven-day passes are also available. Students with an ISIC get a 50% discount and children under seven years of age travel free. Pickpockets operate on some routes (especially bus 175 to and from the airport). Taxis: Taxis in Warsaw are metered and can be hailed on the street, although fares are usually cheaper if the taxi is ordered by telephone. Reliable firms include MPT Radio Taxi (tel: 022 19 191), Halo Taxi (tel: 022 19 623) and Super Taxi (tel: 022 19 622). Unofficial taxis should be avoided; only use a taxi with the telephone number displayed on the top. Tipping is usually around 10% of the fare. Driving: In the past decade, traffic congestion in Warsaw has increased dramatically. Many of the city's drivers travel at high speeds and perform dangerous overtaking manoeuvres, which may trouble nervous visitors. The lack of a ring road means that traffic goes straight through the heart of the city, worsening congestion problems in the city centre. A variety of plans are underway but these are largely dependent on adequate investment. However, improvements have materialised, including the building of additional bridges. Be mindful of tramway lines when driving as the tracks are not always on a separate road area. At red lights, a small green arrow indicates that it is permissible to turn right, however, priority must be given to cross traffic. At intersections without lights, traffic must stop for pedestrians once they have begun to cross at zebra crossings. Paid street parking is in effect and there are some underground car parks in the city centre. There is a car park under the Silver Screen multiplex (also known as the Europlex building) on Ulica Pulawska 17. There is also 24-hour parking around the Palace of Culture and Science. Car hire: Drivers must be at least 21 or even 23 years old (depending on the company). There is no mandatory insurance, although collision damage waiver is advised. The major car hire providers in Warsaw are Avis Budget and Europcar. Bicycle hire: Warsaw is a flat city and has some wonderful cycling paths especially along the Vistula River, but beware that drivers are not supportive of cyclists sharing the road with them. =========================================== Warsaw Museums, Warsaw Transport, Warsaw Tours, Warsaw Introduction, Warsaw Attractions, Warsaw Hotels, Warsaw Restaurants, Warsaw Shopping, Warsaw Nightlife, world travel video, Warsaw video, Warsaw, Warsaw Travel guide, Warsaw Tourism, Warsaw Vacation, Poland, Poland travel guide, Poland tourism, Poland vacation, Poland Attractions, Europe === Warsaw - Poland Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation, Attractions, Travel Tips

noodls 2015-03-30Warsaw (Polish: Warszawa [varˈʂava] ( listen); see also other names) is the capital and largest city of Poland. It is located on the Vistula River, roughly 260 kilometres (160 mi) from the Baltic Sea and 300 kilometres (190 mi) from the Carpathian Mountains. Its population in 2010 was estimated at 1,716,855 residents with a greater metropolitan area of 2,631,902 residents, making Warsaw the 10th most populous city proper in the European Union. The area of the city covers 516.9 square kilometres (199.6 sq mi), while the city's agglomeration covers 6,100.43 square kilometres (2,355.39 sq mi).
Warsaw is an Alpha- global city, a major international tourist destination and an important economic hub in Central Europe. It is also known as the "phoenix city" because it has survived many wars throughout its history. Most notably, the city had to be painstakingly rebuilt after the extensive damage it suffered from World War II, during which 80% of its buildings were destroyed. On 9 November 1940 the city was awarded Poland's highest military decoration for heroism, the Virtuti Militari, for the Siege of Warsaw (1939).
I walked through the city limits,
Someone talked me in to do it,
Attracted by some force within it,
Had to close my eyes to get close to it,
Around a corner where a prophet lay,
Saw the place where she'd had a room to stay,
A wire fence where the children played
Saw the bed where the body lay,
And I was looking for some friends of mine.
And I had no time to waste.
Yeah, looking for some friends of mine.
The cars screeched hear the sound on dust,
Heard a noise just a car outside,
Metallic blue turned red with rust,
Pulled in close by the building's side,
In a group all forgotten youth,
Had to think, collect my senses now,
Are turned on to a knife edged view
Find some places where my friends don't know,
And I was looking for a friend of mine,
And had no time to waste.
Yeah, looking for some friends of mine.
Down the dark streets, the houses looked the same,
Getting darker now, faces look the same,
And I walked round and round.
No stomach, torn apart,
Nail me to a train.
Had to think again,
trying to find a clue, trying to find a way to get out!
So long sitting here --
Didn't here the warning
Waiting for the tape to run
We've been moving round
in different situations
Knowing that the time would come,
Just to see you torn apart --
I need it (3)
Two-way mirror in the hall
They like to watch everything you do
Transmitters hidden in the wall
So they know everything you say is true
Turn it on -- don't turn it on -- Turn it on
You've been seeing things in darkness --
running, learning
Hoping that the truth will pass
No life underground wasting,
never changing
Wishing that this thing won't last
To never see you show your age
To watch the feeling fades
Hey - you - you too [repeats in the background]
I could make the choice for you
Just sticks close to you - it's all around me
Everything I try to do
I can't even seem to find the room to move
But you think you're number one
Actors though the film has gone
Crowded in a room for one
Darkness when the lights are on
Turn me on for good - it's so exciting
Slogans on the wall don't need no advertising
I can't even seem to find the room to move
Shackled up in fantasy
Hoping for some time to breathe
Some might get your chance too easy
I just want some time to breathe
Just sticks close to you - it's all around me
Everything I do - they're always trying to crowd me
I can't even seem to find the room to move
Watching every move I make
Choice of one that's hard to take
In fact it's just a big mistake
The facts that make it feel like you
Maggots swarm [?] inside the line
Ready for the perfect crime
Say there is no right or wrong
I don't know what's right or wrong
New single from Dessa off of her new “Parts of Speech” album coming out in
June. I can't wait to see her and her live touring band play on May, 12th
At Local 506!
A wick with no candle
A wheel with no axle
I ride with no saddle
No lift, then I'm dragging the kite
A blade with no handle
A brick for your window
I'm fine but I'm single
A dime and
I'm the same on both sides
You're a stone-cold killer you say
But you're looking like a part-time criminal
Waive the charade
Man, you lay it on thick
It's a dive bar, save the game
You drink and you sit
Easy to please
But hard to impress
I'm in a mood, new shoes, and a bulletproof dress
Sugar on the rim and a shot of mescal
Man, it's murder in the morning
But it's good for morale
Can you mortar more
Looks like you're bricking with both hands
Get the spirit level
Or the skeleton won't stand
Fuck the plan, man
I'm tryna call an audible
Probable lost cause
But I got a thing for long shots
Yes, yes, naysayers got the wrong job
Best bet when you think they got the wrong odds
And I've done some living in a glass house
High note blew the motherfucking walls off
And I sleep
With both eyes open
Standing up
Alone and holding
Off the rust
And I'm still living by my maiden name
The name I came with
The name I made
And I'm bare-faced at your masquerade
Filled a flask up before I came
Because night falls
We all wanna hear that fight song
Car running like a nylon
Brights on
Time's right but the clock's wrong
Never set it, never settle in a time zone
Take what I need with me
Pray for rain but brace for whiskey
Something in the tank, money in the bank
Callin it a win we
Give a little thanks, give a little back
Busy with the grand plan
Take one last look
Left the bandwagon
For a banned book
To break out you gotta give up the chase
To make love you gotta take off the brace
And we all leave it feeling half done
Best you can do is just put a hand up
Hope grace and good works in the end add up
3,5,0,1,2,5, Go!
I was there in the backstage
When first light came around
I grew up like a changeling
To win the first time around
I can see all the weakness
I can pick all the faults
Well I concede all the faith test
Just to stick in your throats
3 1 G, 3 1 G, 3 1 G
I hung around in your soundtrack
To mirror all that you've done
To find the right side of reason
To kill the three lies for one
I can see all the cold facts
I can see through your eyes
All this talk make no contact
No matter how hard we tried
3 1 G, 3 1 G, 3 1 G
I can still hear the footsteps
I can see only walls
I slide into your man-traps
With no hearing at all
I see just contradiction
Had to give up the fight
Just to live in the past tense
To make belief you were right
3 1 G, 3 1 G, 3 1 G
They tell me that she's alright in Warsaw,
But I don't believe anything they say.
I remember some crazy nights in Warsaw,
And it only seems like yesterday.
We tried to break away.
In Warsaw, a heart is breaking,
And now there's nothing that we can do,
In Warsaw, she will be waiting,
But I can't go back again,
To Warsaw.
We knew at the start that it wouldn't be easy,
But we didn't think it would be so bad.
She gave up her heart and soul just to please me,
And I gave her everything I had.
Everything I had.
In Warsaw, a heart is breaking,
And now there's nothing that we can do,
In Warsaw, she will be waiting,
But I can't go back again,
To Warsaw.
(Instrumental break)
In Warsaw, a heart is breaking,
And now there's nothing that we can do,
In Warsaw, she will be waiting,
But I can't go back again,
To Warsaw.

guess i'm gonna miss you when you go away
dressing down the issue - everyone's okay
but who's gonna know when the right one's goin'?
guess i'm gonna miss you when you go away
so, don't go to warsaw
don't leave california
don't treat it like it's less than what it was
retreating's the wrong way (i don't have a reason)
to prove you don't need me (to keep you from leaving)
so, don't go to warsaw, just because
we were too affraid to take it seriously
thinking about yourself just comes so easily
but who's gonna know when the right one's goin'?
Why must we be put down when we try to get away ?
Why must we all grow up when we could just play and
play ?
Good things in life are free - can't buy everything,
that's true
Only one thing wrong with that - what it don't buy I
don't use
Only thing I'm thinking of is why are we all here ?
There must be more to do at nights than drinking rotten
beer
The world's a very shady place, and you can't trust a
soul
"Grin and bear it" seemed the thing, when it just gets
a hold
At a later date - it might come out a fright
At a later date - I hope that you're alright
Human beings are dangerous and they call me in the dark
But everything gets twice as cold in marching for a
lark
There's loads of things I'd like to do if I could find
the time
Working really tires me and I think I'll turn to crime
At a later date - I hope they start it soon
At a later date - before we hit the moon
I just can't be bothered to make an effort here at all
People make you feel your contributions are too small
I just can't be bothered to make an effort here at all
People make you feel your contributions are too small
At a later date - I'll be awful great
At a later date, someone somewhere blew it
When the people listen to you don't you
know it means a lot 'cos you've got to
work so hard for everything you've got
Can't rest on your laurels now
Not when you've got none
You'll find yourself in a gutter
Right back where you came from
Someone told me being in the know
is the main thing
We all need the security
that belonging brings
Can't stand on your own in these times
against all the odds
I don't want to act uncool
at all the other sods
You slap your back
and pretend you knew about all the things
that we were gonna do
What ya gonna do,
what ya gonna do when it's over?
You're all on your own now,
Don't you think that's a shame
But you're the only one
responsible that's to blame
When ya gonna grow up and act,
and be yourself 'cos pretty soon
you'll find yourself nailed to the shelf
Grab it while you can, but don't
ever relax, 'cos there's always
someone gonna stab your back
To the centre of the city where all roads meet, waiting
for you,
To the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank,
searching for you,
I was moving through the silence without motion, waiting
for you,
In a room with a window in the corner I found truth.
In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no
more,
As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on
the floor,
And with cold streel, odour on their bodies mad a move to
connect,
But I could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all
left.
I did everything, everything I wanted to,
I let them use you for their own ends,
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you.
All dressed in uniforms so fine
They drank and killed to pass the time
Wearing the shame of all their crimes
With measured steps they walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They carried pictures of their wives
And numbered tags to prove their lives
And made it through the whole machine
With dirty hearts and hands washed clean
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
Full of a glory never seen
They made it through the whole machine
To never question anymore
Hypnotic trance they never saw
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
They walked in line
Walked in line
Don't speak with shameless face
A failure of modern man
To the centre of luck he dived
Has a hold on a nose
so red
Throw up in a hollow field
Break the image of your father's son
Drawn to an inner field
He was thought of as the only one (2)
He no longer denies
All the failures of the modern man
No, no, no we can't make sides
Sees the failures of the modern man
Wise words and sympathy
Tell the story of our history
New strength gives a real touch
Sense of reason make it all too much
With a strange fatality
Broke the spirits of a lesser man
Some other race could see
In his way he was the only one (2)
He no longer denies
All the failures of the modern man
No, no, no we can't make sides
See the failures of the modern man
Now that it's right to decide
In his time he was the total man
Taken from Caesar's side
Kept in silence just to prove
us wrong
He no longer denies
All the failures of the modern man
No, no, no we can't make sides
Sees the failures of the modern man

Radio, live transmission.
Radio, live transmission.
Listen to the silence, let it ring on.
Eyes, dark grey lenses frightened of the sun.
We would have a fine time living in the night,
Left to blind destruction,
Waiting for our sight.
And we would go on as though nothing was wrong.
And hide from these days we remained all alone.
Staying in the same place, just staying out the time.
Touching from a distance,
Further all the time.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Well I could call out when the going gets tough.
The things that we've learnt are no longer enough.
No language, just sound, that's all we need know, to
synchronise
love to the beat of the show.
And we could dance.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, to the radio.
Don't talk to me girl - you know it's not nice
Don't laugh at murder - I won't pay the price
The facts are too high-powered - it's such a big thrill
I'd give that mess up 'cause it makes you so ill
Blame bad things on me, whatever you do
When I come home my world is different from you
You're such a cheap talk - you're really trussed up
Don't wanna talk to you - just left with your mum
Don't be a puppet - always rush you around
One just for your photo - try and tie me down
I won't tell him I talk like this all night
He must be worried 'cause you're sounding so trite
Respect is only normal - the way to your lives
Ever tried to sleep around with some bag for a wife
We'll never change you if you start acting that way
If we don't keep our heads alive, I'll never get a say
You know what's special - it's as black as I say
Born from some mother's womb,
Just like any other room.
Made a promise for a new life.
Made a victim out of your life.
When your time's on the door,
And it drips to the floor,
And you feel you can touch,
All the noise is too much,
And the seeds that are sown,
Are no longer your own.
Just a minor operation,
To force a final ultimatum.
Thousand words are spoken loud,
Reach the dumb to fool the crowd.
When you walk down the street,
And the sound's not so sweet,
And you wish you could hide,
Maybe go for a ride,
To some peep show arcade,
Where the future's not made.
A nightmare situation,
Infiltrate imagination,
Smacks of past Holy wars,
By the wall with broken laws.
The leaders of men,
Born out of your frustration.
The leaders of men,
Just a strange infatuation.
The leaders of men,
Made a promise for a new life.
No saviour for our sakes,
To twist the internees of hate,
Self induced manipulation,
Seen the troubles and the evils of this world
I've seen the stretches between
godliness and sin
I've had the promise and confessions
of true faith
And the hypocrisy that always lies within
And they left it for you --
all of this for you (2)
I've seen the products
and the other world of waste
I've seen the colour of corruption
deep within
I've seen them lose themselves
in dignity and taste
To see in black and white and through
to black again
And they left it all for you --
all of this for you (2)
And they left it for you --
all of this for you
And they left it for you -- everything for you
I've seen the troubles and the evils
of this world
I've seen the ones who can succeed
but always lose
I've seen what's left
of poor technology and work
And watched them dying as they
leave their ship of fools
And they left it for you --
Seen the real atrocities, buried in the sand
Stockpiled safety for a few --
we stand holding hands I --
living in the iceage (2)
Nothing will hold, nothing will fit
Into the cold, no smile on your lips
Living in the iceage (3)
Searching for another way,
see them hide behind the door
Live in holes and disused shafts
hoped a little more
I -- living in the iceage (2)
Nothing will hold, nothing will fit
Into the cold, no smile on your lips
(That is the vision of the anarchist... it is also a boy's dream)
True to Warsaw, glad we did it
Beat him down with a baseball bat
Police retreated the riot scenes in fear of a baseball bat
Working class intellectuals, disillusion you for sure
Broken dreams in warsaw, where all the dreams fall down
American baseball bat!
Demolish the discotheque!
And how many blows to his forearm and neck
'Til he lay in the schoolyard, bludgeoned to death!
December 13, '81, who remembers a loaded gun?
Who remembers the first morning of martial law?
Hey, you should bring that Louisville
Yeah man, I'll know where
Yeah man economic (? army), hardship in Warsaw
American baseball bat!
Demolish the discotheque!
And how many blows to his forearm and neck
'Til he lay in the schoolyard, bludgeoned to death!
You when you lose an
In a color of sorrow all over me
You with eyes through
Many forward I'm given and...
You you something
You mean something
Turn your... on me
Turn your... open to you
You seen me yourself
Tell em you want to be...
You only the sun
To an endless you want to be over
You is all you
You is all you
How I want to be you
I want to show you
Only hold you
... over you
How I'm to show you
Warsaw
Comes forth
Blood shed
Tides turn
Grinding
Ripping
Turning
Corpse burn
Hate lost
Hate gain
Hateful
Hate slain
Bodies
Slaughtered
Turning
Captive
It's too
Late to revert your ways
Wings with scales
Now wings of fate
Raining thorns
Pain becomes your only pleasure
All that's left
It's sharpened fury
Unholy steel
Grinding waves of flesh
Pride
Victory dance of those unknown
Fear
Spread out throughout the masses
Storm
