London is a leading global city, with strengths in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transport all contributing to its prominence. It is the world's leading financial centre alongside New York City and has the fifth-largest city GDP in the world (and the largest in Europe). London has been described as a world cultural capital. It was the world's most visited city during 2011 and London Heathrow is the world's busiest airport by number of international passengers. London's 43 universities form the largest concentration of higher education in Europe. In 2012 London will become the first city to host the modern Summer Olympic Games three times.
Robin Hood was a heroicoutlaw in English folklore. A highly skilled archer and swordsman, he is known for "robbing from the rich and giving to the poor", assisted by a group of fellow outlaws known as his "Merry Men". Traditionally, Robin Hood and his men are depicted wearing Lincoln green clothes. The origin of the legend is claimed by some to have stemmed from actual outlaws, or from ballads or tales of outlaws.
Robin Hood became a popular folk figure in the medieval period continuing through to modern literature, films and television. In the earliest sources, Robin Hood is a yeoman, but he was often later portrayed as an aristocrat wrongfully dispossessed of his lands and made into an outlaw by an unscrupulous sheriff.
In popular culture, Robin Hood and his band of "merry men" are usually portrayed as living in Sherwood Forest, in Nottinghamshire, where much of the action in the early ballads takes place. So does the very first recorded Robin Hood rhyme, four lines from the early 15th century, beginning: "Robyn hode in scherewode stod." However, the overall picture from the surviving early ballads and other early references suggest that Robin Hood may have been based in the Barnsdale area of what is now South Yorkshire (which borders Nottinghamshire).

Robin Hood Gardens: Requiem For A Dream
After decades of controversy, Alison and Peter Smithson’s monumental housing estate in Poplar, East London, is finally being emptied of tenants in preparation for its demolition. The blocks will eventually be replaced by a quiver of anodyne towers designed by AEDAS. The AR’s History Editor Tom Wilkinson takes a final look at this landmark of Brutalism, tracing the context of its creation, the vagaries of its reputation, and exploring the unloved, but not unlovely spaces around it, concluding that Robin Hood Gardens is a reminder of architecture’s potential in an age of austerity.

You’ll also want to see the Tower of London, the Palace of Westminster, and Westminster Abbey for exquisite examples of the city’s famous architectural landmarks. The sleepy residential suburb is conveniently located in South London and thanks to it's excellent transport links, it only takes 15 minutes to get here.
Clapham high street is a great place to buy some gifts, there's a wide range of varied and exciting shops to check out. I also visited the 24 hour market on Venn Street. It's a great place to pick up some locally grown vegetables and freshly baked goods.
Many travel to Clapham for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and if peace and quiet is what you're after then Clapham Common is the place for you. Anglo Saxons first settled on the common in 1887, now-a-days it's used purel

Culture, language, transport, money, food, etc. But most travel shows are an hour-long, US-centric, full of bad information, and almost exclusively aimed at tourists. So I wanted to create something different. Something aimed at the frequent traveller, something portable and short-form. Something...useful.

A trip to London might as well be a trip through history. This city has long been a hub for finance, education, and culture, and is full of modern construction mixed with ancient buildings.
Your London tour must include St. Paul’s Cathedral, one of its most well-known churches. You’ll also want to see the Tower of London, the Palace of Westminster, and Westminster Abbey for exquisite examples of the city’s famous architectural landmarks. Walk or jog through numerous green spaces, among them Hyde Park and Green Park, in the center of London.
Continue your London sightseeing in the West End, where you’ll find ancient buildings converted into modern shops, restaurants, bars, and shows. You’ll find one of the largest theatre districts in the world here, and can take in a different play almost every night of the week.
For a real treat, climb aboard the London Eye, a giant, rotating Ferris wheel, and see the old and new parts of the city all at once.

Travel video about destination London in England.
London is an exciting and pulsating metropolis of the new millennium, a melting pot of both people and culture and a fascinating city of diverse contrasts.
The City Of London contains the Tower, an historic landmark with a remarkable history. A mighty medieval fortress with 13 towers that throughout its 900 years, has served many functions and from the Middle Ages, it was a heavily fortified prison.
After the medieval St. Paul's Cathedral was destroyed by a devastating fire in 1666, Christopher Wren was ordered to re-build it with a dome. During the 36 years of its construction, its design was frequently altered until finally a wonderful masterpiece of church architecture was created.
The Monument is the city's tallest freestanding stone column and a reminder of the Great Fire of London that destroyed 80 percent of the city. In four days, more than 13,000 buildings were destroyed and the Monument was built on the site of the bakery in which the fire began.
Since the reign of Queen Victoria, Buckingham Palace has served as London's royal residence. A garden of mulberry trees once grew on the site of today's palace and the Duke of Buckingham subsequently added a simple brick built residence. Around 60 years later, George II purchased the site for his wife and George IV eventually began to design an extensive palace complex.
The highlight of any holiday in London must be the largest Ferris wheel in the world, the London Eye. Situated on the banks of the Thames, it rises high into the sky, opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
The former centre of the largest empire in the world, London is still a city of superlatives that attracts millions of visitors each year. Exciting both day and night, London is a modern city with age old traditions and a long and colorful history.

Anglo Saxons first settled on the common in 1887, now-a-days it's used purely for recreation and hosts many music festival.
Whether you're into football or dogging, there's something for everyone on the common.
Well I had a lovely day in Clapham and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

Here it is, our pilot episode!
Why am I doing this? I travel a lot. Too much. And recently I find myself rocking up in a city that I've never been to before and know very little about. On any level. Culture, language, transport, money, food, etc. But most travel shows are an hour-long, US-centric, full of bad information, and almost exclusively aimed at tourists. So I wanted to create something different. Something aimed at the frequent traveller, something portable and short-form. Something...useful.
In our pilot episode we get you in, out, and around the wonderful city of London, England. We tell you the best way to get from the airport into the city, the best way to get around, how much things cost, and why you should ALWAYS stand on the right.
In follow up episodes we'll be adding a food and drink segment, as well as tips on how to avoid those awkward social and business faux pas.
I really appreciate you taking the time to watch this and welcome any thoughts, feedback, ideas, and suggestions for future episodes. Travel is my passion and I'm excited to share it with you.
Oh and don't forget to subscribe for new episodes in a city near you!

Overview Of Call The Midwife :
The plot follows newly qualified midwife Jenny Lee and the work of midwives and the nuns of Nonnatus House, a nursing convent, part of an Anglican religious order, coping with the medical problems in the deprived Poplar district of London's desperately poor East End in the 1950s. The Sisters and midwives carry out many nursing duties across the community. However, with between 80 and 100 babies being born each month in Poplar alone, the primary work is to help bring safe childbirth to women in the area and to look after their countless newborns.

KATE surprised 23rd Poplar Beaver Scout Colony, London to help children earn a badge
Kate, The Duchess of Cambridge exchanged high end fashion for a hoodie as she helped out a Beaver Scout colony.
Kate, who is five months pregnant, wore a black UK Scouting hooded top with black skinny J Brand jeans and boots as she helped eager youngsters to ice a cake blindfold.
Kate worked as a volunteer for the Scout Association when she and Prince William lived in Anglesey, North Wales, and looked delighted to be helping children at the 23rd Poplar Beaver Scout Colony earn a new badge.

Alongside the CS3 the Will Crooks Estate has had some Pro-Palestine flags and signage up for quite a while. A new flag has appeared, some claim it is Jihadist, some claim it is a flag of ISIS. Personally I've no idea, I don't recognise it but the guardian seem to think that it is something bad...

Leaflet Distribution Poplar London E14 Flyer Delivery

michael@leaflets.tv
www.leaflets.tv
100% RELIABLE LEAFLET DELIVERY
Leaflet Distribution (tm) has local leafleters in Poplar, London
E14. We specialise in leaflet and flyer distribution in Poplar and
are a very experienced business in this sector, having been operating
since 2004. We also run a cleaning company and one of our own leaflets
goes out with each drop, so we have a vested interest in ensuring it is
done properly. This also enables us to monitor how many calls we receive
from potential cleaning clients and potential cleaners. Very few other
leaflet distribution companies have this advantage. In addition, to
maximise the response rate we only deliver a maximum of 3 leaflets
through each letterbox. We want the highest possible number of calls for
you (and us!) Most competitors just stack 5 or 6 leaflets together and
all of them end up grabbed in one hand en route to the bin! They simply
do not have a vested interest in the outcome of the flyer drop.
Beware of leaflet distribution firms whose only method of tracking is
GPS, as I have heard stories of leafleters walking the streets, but not
actually delivering anything! With us, that is not possible, as we would
immediately notice the absence of cleaning calls. Our staff know this,
so rogue leafleters would avoid working for us and instead apply for
jobs with our competitors!
We are extremely careful who we hire. We operate a profiling system
based on experience to eliminate unsuitable and unreliable potential
staff, but I cannot disclose details on here due to possibly being
accused of discrimination!
A cheap printer can be recommended. 5,000 leaflets for £28. Full colour
on both sides printed on quality, heavyweight card. Ask for details.
www.leaflets.tv has more information or you can phone *Michael* on
*07443 644 983*. If there is an answerphone, please leave a message with
your phone number and he will ring you back asap the same day.
You can email us at michael@leaflets.tv , but if you have many questions,
speaking on the phone is much faster than email.
GUARANTEE. Since we have been in existence since 2004 and only use
meticulously chosen leafleters, we can guarantee your distribution in
Poplar will be carried out properly. All our leafleters are
experienced and have done many drops for us previously, so there is no
risk for you.
So, if you manage a business and would like more clients, do not
hesitate to contact us to clarify any questions and to get started.

London Travel Video Guide

London Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations
Everyone knows London. The red double-deckers, the black taxis, the red phone booths, the red brick buildings, the guards with the bearskin fur caps are well known by even those, who have never been to the English capital. There are the legendary buildings: the clock-tower of the Parliament, the Big Ben, the Saint Paul Cathedral, the residence of the Queen, the Buckingham Palace, the Westminster, the Tower and the famous bridge, the Tower, the Waterloo and the London bridge are all known from the pages of history books and literary pieces. There are incredibly lots of things to see, there is the British Museum, the National Gallery, the Trafalgar Square, the Piccadilly Circus, the famous parks, the St. James and the Hyde, the rebuilt Globe Theatre, the Madame Tussaud’s, the Sherlock Holmes Museum, and the new pride of the city, the London Eye… Not to mention the busy cultural life, the theatres, the restaurants of the Soho and Covent Garden, and the uncountable number of pubs, where in the old days Shakespeare, Dickens or Churchill had their beers.

Possibly Controversial flag appears on Poplar Highstreet
Alongside the CS3 the Will Crooks Estate has had some Pro-Palestine flags and signage up for quite a while. A new flag has appeared, some claim it is Jihadist, some claim it is a flag of ISIS. Personally I've no idea, I don't recognise it but the guardian seem to think that it is something bad...
