The center issued a statement on the deportees saying, "Such decision is a clear violation of human rights as it was not taken for reasons related to their violations of the rules and law of the country but rather on sectarian grounds." Dozens of Lebanese Shias that had lived in the UAE for years were also expelled from the country in 2009 for sectarian reasons.
