Pirates of the Caribbean is a dark ride at the Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Park (Paris) theme parks. This was the last attraction which Walt Disney himself participated in designing; it opened three months after his death. It is located within the New Orleans Square portion of Disneyland, its facade evoking antebellum New Orleans, topped by a 31-star United States flag (which would indicate the 1850s). An overhead sign at the boat dock names it for the famous pirate Jean Lafitte (although his name is misspelled Laffite), who fought alongside the U.S. Army at the Battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812. The second floor of the facade was originally designed to be a private Disney family apartment. Instead it later opened as an art-related retail/museum space called the Disney Gallery until late 2007 when it was replaced by the Disneyland Dream Suite. During the course of the indoor boat ride, guests float through an immersive, larger-than-life pirate adventure featuring gunshots, cannon blasts, burning buildings, and carousing and pillaging pirates, all accompanied by the rollicking theme song, "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)" written by George Bruns and Xavier Atencio.

Suicide bombers kill at least 126 and injure at least 260 in Sanaa, Yemen on Friday. A group claiming to be the Islamic State in Yemen claimed responsibility. Friday's bombing was the deadliest terror attack in Yemen in recent years. Four suicide bombers targeted two mosques frequented by Shi'ite Houthi rebels in the capital city of Sanaa. One suicide bomber detonated a bomb inside the Badr mosque, witnesses told Al Jazeera. A second bomber then targeted panicked crowds who were gathered outside the mosque. The Al Hashoosh mosque was also targeted. A suicide bomber detonated explosives inside and a car bomb was detonated outside according to two Houthi officials as reported by CNN. Sanaa hospitals were in need of blood donors to treat the massive influx of patients. Reuters is reporting 126 dead and 260 injured. The bombings occurred at the same time that unidentified warplanes attacked the presidential palace in the southern port city of Aden for the second day in a row. A third mosque the Sadaa province was also targeted but the suicide bomber only killed himself when the bomb detonated early. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks on the mosques according to Twitter accounts linked to the terrorist group. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoWorld, where we animate the biggest headlines from around the world. World’s largest asteroid impact zone found in central Australia

Every now and then, the universe rises to make clear the enormity of its size — and our relative place in it. One such moment was in February 2013, when an asteroid exploded over the Russian city of Urals, inflicting panic, broken windows and injuries upon more than 1000 people. People were stunned by what happened, but one asteroid expert named Andrew Glikson was watching from Australia, thinking it could have been much worse. If only people realised what asteroids once did to this planet. The evidence of those days, he said, is embedded beneath Australia's crust near the East Warburton Basin in the centre of the country. In those same weeks, he had found an asteroid crater at least 178 kilometres in diameter. He was amazed by its size and what it could mean. "This is a new discovery," Glikson, of the Australian National University, told Agence France-Presse at the time. "And what really was amazing was the size of the terrain that has been shocked. It's now a minimum of 200 kilometres, this makes it about the third biggest anywhere in the world." Glikson and others believe the impact was felt across the world, changing life's course and spewing a blanket of ash into the atmosphere that blanketed out the sun. "It's likely to be part of a particular cluster that was linked with a mass extinction at that time," he told the Conversation. But even then, questions lingered. Did the asteroid split before it hit the Earth? Was its impact actually wider than those 200 kilometres? Could it really have been much bigger? Now nearly two years later, he thinks he has his answer, which he has published in a fresh issue of the geology journal Tectonophysics. "They appear to be two large structures, with each of them approximately 200 kilometres" in diameter, he told the ABC. "So together, jointly they would form a 400 kilometre structure which is the biggest we know of anywhere in the world. The consequences are that it could have caused a large mass extinction event at that time, but we still don't know the age of this asteroid impact and we are still working on it." The asteroid broke apart right before impact, Glikson contended, splitting into two halves, each of which was at least six miles across. "It would have been curtains for many life species on the planet at the time," he said in a statement.

Peter Dobbie presents this BBC World breaking news story, recorded at 0600hrs SGT on 23 Mar 2015. Lee Kuan Yew, the statesman who transformed Singapore from a small port city into a wealthy global hub, has died at the age of 91. The announcement was made "with deep sorrow" by the press secretary of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Mr Lee's son. The following news article is reproduced from the BBC News online website @ http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-32012346 Another later edition of the BBC World's continuing live coverage, recorded at 0700hrs SGT on 23 Mar 2015 is available @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b5LjWRFmHY&feature;=youtu.be Mr Lee served as the city-state's prime minister for 31 years, and continued to work in government until 2011. Highly respected as the architect of Singapore's prosperity, Mr Lee was also criticised for his iron grip on power. Under him freedom of speech was tightly restricted and political opponents were targeted by the courts. "The prime minister is deeply grieved to announce the passing of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, the founding prime minister of Singapore," his office said in a statement. Mr Lee died peacefully at Singapore General Hospital at 03:18 local time on Monday (19:18 GMT on Sunday), it said. He had been in hospital for several weeks with severe pneumonia. Over the weekend, people left tributes and messages of goodwill at the hospital as his condition deteriorated. United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said he was "deeply saddened" by Mr Lee's death and offered his condolences to the people of Singapore. 'Incalculable contributions' A charismatic and unapologetic figure, Mr Lee co-founded the People's Action Party (PAP), which has governed Singapore since 1959, and was its first prime minister. The PAP said in a statement on Facebook: "While we mourn the passing of one of the greatest leaders of our party, we celebrate his incalculable contributions to Singapore and its people." Singapore's President Tony Tan has written an open letter of condolence in which he describes Mr Lee as "the architect of our modern republic". Meanwhile Goh Chok Tong, a former prime minister, said: "He was my leader, mentor, inspiration, the man I looked up to most." Mr Lee, a Cambridge-educated lawyer, led Singapore through merger with, and then separation from, Malaysia - something that he described as a "moment of anguish". Speaking at a press conference after the split in 1965, he pledged to build a meritocratic, multi-racial nation. But tiny Singapore - with no natural resources - needed a new economic model. "We knew that if we were just like our neighbours, we would die," Mr Lee told the New York Times in 2007. "Because we've got nothing to offer against what they have to offer. So we had to produce something which is different and better than what they have." Tight controls Mr Lee set about creating a highly-educated work force fluent in English, and reached out to foreign investors to turn Singapore into a manufacturing hub. The city-state grew wealthy and later developed into a major financial centre. But building a nation came with tight controls - and one of Mr Lee's legacies was a clampdown on the press. These restrictions remain today. In 2014, Singapore stood at 150 in the Reports Without Borders World Press Freedom Index, below countries like Russia, Myanmar and Zimbabwe. Dissent - and political opponents - were ruthlessly quashed. Today, Mr Lee's PAP remains firmly in control. There are currently six opposition lawmakers in parliament. Other measures, such as corporal punishment, a ban on chewing gum and the government's foray into matchmaking for Singapore's brightest - to create smarter babies - led to perceptions of excessive state interference. But Mr Lee remained unmoved. "Whoever governs Singapore must have that iron in him. Or give it up," he told a rally in 1980. "I've spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I'm in charge, nobody is going to knock it down."

Suicide bombers kill at least 126 and injure at least 260 in Sanaa, Yemen on Friday. A group claiming to be the Islamic State in Yemen claimed responsibility. Friday\'s bombing was the deadliest terror attack in Yemen in recent years.

Four suicide bombers targeted two mosques frequented by Shi\'ite Houthi rebels in the capital city of Sanaa.

The evidence of those days, he said, is embedded beneath Australia\'s crust near the East Warburton Basin in the centre of the country. In those same weeks, he had found an asteroid crater at least 178 kilometres in diameter. He was amazed by its size and what it could mean. \

A 36-year veteran of America’s Intelligence Community, William Binney resigned from his position as Director for Global Communications Intelligence (COMINT) at the National Security Agency (NSA) and blew the whistle, after discovering that his efforts to protect the privacy and security of Americans were being undermined by those above him in the chain of command.

The NSA data-monitoring program which Binney and his team had developed -- codenamed ThinThread -- was being aimed not at foreign targets as intended, but at Americans (codenamed as Stellar Wind); destroying privacy here and around the world. Binney voices his call to action for the billions of individuals whose rights are currently being violated.

William Binney speaks out in this feature-length interview with Tragedy and Hope\'s Richard Grove, focused on the topic of the ever-growing Surveillance State in America.

ISIS news: Deadly attacks in Yemen kill 126, suicide bombers target Shi'ite mosques in Sanaa
Al Jazeera 24 Mar 2015, Up until a week ago, there was a slim margin of hope that Yemen might somehow avoid civil war, and that there was a political solution to the ongoing power struggle between President Abd-Rabbou Mansour Hadi, its democratically elected leader, and the Houthi rebels. It certainly wasn't from a lack of trying, with Hadi himself, the United Nations and...
