Re-enrolment steps

Current Victoria University (VU) students are required to re-enrol for the following year.

You can do so by:

  • personally attending a scheduled re-enrolment session, or
  • re-enrolling online if your course is enabled to do so.

Re-enrol as soon as possible to secure your place in the course.

Check your course delivery plan for information about your course structure in 2015, including whether or not your course is available for online enrolment.

Before you enrol: Get academic advice

Before you enrol, you need to be sure of what units to enrol in, and what is offered in 2015.

  • Check your College course delivery plan to help you enrol in the correct unit sequence.
  • Check the 2015 Timetable to see what is offered in 2015.
  • If online enrolment is available for your course, MYVU Portal is open for re-enrolment (view our online enrolment help for more information). If your course is not online and you need further assistance with re-enrolling, you can attend an enrolment hub or contact us for more information.

It is your responsibility to:

  • choose units that fit your course structure (both core units and electives)
  • check whether there are any pre-requisite and co-requisite units you need to satisfy
  • re-enrol for both semesters.

If you are enrolled in a double degree you should seek academic advice from Course Coordinators from each discipline.

Enrol

Most higher education courses are available for online enrolment. Check whether or not your course is available for online enrolment.

Course available for online enrolment

After your re-enrolment session finishes, you can go to an enrolment hub on campus to enrol with support from staff on the day. Download the enrolment hub schedule to find out where the hubs are.

If you prefer, you can also return home to enrol online. You can refer to the online enrolment help and instructions for support.

Course not available for online enrolment

After your re-enrolment session finishes, you can go to an enrolment hub on campus to complete a paper enrolment form, with support from staff on the day. Download the enrolment hub schedule to find out where the hubs are.

Vocational & Further Education (TAFE) students

Unique Student Identifier

From 2015, all Vocational & Further Education (VE/FE or TAFE) students are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) as part of enrolment in nationally recognised training in Australia.

Apply for a USI.

You will need to bring this number with you when you re-enrol for 2015 at VU.

Fee concession

Eligible VET students re-enrolling into a Certificate I - IV will need to bring your current concession card if you wish to claim a concession rate on your fees.

Amending your units

You may amend your enrolment at any time prior to the end of the third week of each semester.

Friday of week 3 of semester (1 and 2 only) is commonly known as administrative census date for timely amendments (last day to add units).

Students who enrolled online will be able to add units until 11:59pm (23:59) on Friday. After this time, the system will close for additions.

A unit of study amendment form will need to be completed if you require an amendment to your enrolment, and must be approved by your Course Coordinator.

You will still be able to withdraw from your units or course until census. Any withdrawal made after the census date will attract a fail result and financial penalties.

Please note: If you re-enrol before results are released for the previous semester, we recommend checking your enrolment again once you receive your results. If you have failed a unit, you need to find out how this affects your enrolment and progression in your course. Attend your re-enrolment session and seek advice from your Course Coordinator.

Transferring into a new course

If you transfer into a new course, you are required to complete enrolment into the new course by the relevant deadline. You will also need to discontinue from your originally enrolled course.

If you are deferring payment of your fees for the new course, you will also need to complete a new HECS-HELP/FEE-HELP/VET FEE-HELP request form and submit it with your enrolment form.

Have you recently completed one of our Diploma or Advanced Diploma courses? Consider adding to your skills by enrolling into a degree through one of our study pathways.
