It was easy to purchase and staff at Australia Post Leongatha very helpful when I asked some questions. Booklet that came with it was easy to read and the card was easy to store compared to other ones that give you heaps of paperwork. Went on a cruise and someone had to be airlifted off at a great expense. Was not specifically listed but came home to find out that this was covered and for only $5 per day. Covered all the things that we thought we may need.

Free, no annual fee Credit and Savings Account; and protected against fraud, never pay interest as I pay off balance, hence it's a very convenient way to track my spending and not have worries about cash and lost records or receipts. I would recommend to friends if they want a no annual fee card and keep the balance low, then it's all you need in a card.

Switching from NAB to ING Direct was a great decision. It is not every day that you are happy with a decision- securing a loan with ING Direct about eight months ago was undoubtedly one of those. I had heard great things about ING Direct from friends but was not entirely convinced until I looked into it further. Perhaps, I was a bit conservative having always previously banked with one of the 'big four'. AS a NAB customer I had negotiated hard to try and get the best possible rate once when my previous fixed loan period ended. While providing me with an additional customer discount on a NAB choices loan, it was still not good enough to compete with ING even after factoring in switching costs. In summary, I had been looking for a split 3-4 year fixed term and variable loan. I wanted maintain a mortgage offset account and capacity for redraw. This was all possible with ING Direct with an additional leveraged discount if you had 20% equity in your property. The application process was fine, although getting some of the documents certified was a pain as the person certifying the documents had to write in a bit more information than normal. Apart from this minor quibble the process was fine. Everything was approved in a timely way and we were set. As we were on a $400 NAB choices package we had a rewards credit card included valued at $199- we also had an additional card with this to try and earn additional points. On average though over the 5 years with NAB we probably accrued about $200 worth of value per year so there was no real net gain. As indicated the NAB choices discount loan prices, even with a small additional customer discount, were higher than what I received from NAB. As ING does not offer credit cards, I found an alternative HSBC Platinum card with rewards for zero fees which I use for bills, obtaining $100 in rewards over 8 months. Apart from rates, key benefits of ING include free ATM access- I had underestimated this as a benefit but it is really convenient, none of of this having to find a NAB ATM which was then out of operation. Also, surprisingly the 2% rebate on pay wave does start to add up over time which is a pleasant change to it going the other way. With no bank outlets, I had some doubt as to how customer service would work out. However, this has proved to be an unfounded concern- this customer service has been smooth and helpful. Previously trying to negotiate with NAB was a case of being referred all over the place and taking weeks to get a reply from the local branch when I was trying to negotiate a better rate. Given the reliance on internet banking with ING, their internet banking works a treat and their Ipad app is great to use. After having loans of different descriptions with the Commonwealth, ANZ and NAB, I am more than happy to recommend ING Direct without reservation.
I felt they thought of my personal safety

Have been with this credit union since its original set up as the "Glenroy Credit Union" back in 1974. Since that date the take-overs have been numerous. With each occasion the fees have been a cost to the consumer and benefits have removed,eg have always used a cheque acc, 12 months ago queried why there was a charge of $1.50 for writing a cheque, was informed that it always the case, I disagreed and asked when did the charge come into effect and was told again it was always a charge. Yeah how would a customer service emp REALLY know what was in place prior to the current CUA. I am seriously considering moving away from the CUA and now using a Bank. Yes there are fees attached but their services are more efficient.

They're not like a soul-less corporation - they're always on campus giving out freebies and chatting with students! They understand the struggles of being a poor student (any bank that gives out free migoreng is alright in my book!), and they have great customer service.

Due to supporting my spouse for the last 2 years on a below average income, I had accrued a moderate amount of debt with different institutions. We have made mistakes and now that my spouse is working we decided it was to to get back on track. After speaking to Commonwealth Bank about our finances they convinced us we could save money on a Personal loan and depending on our application could save money consolidating. What a mistake, without providing an upfront rate until we were about to sign the paper work. Now we are paying 17.40% where we were previously paying a total of about 12% and the total repayments have increased by $100 per month. Speak to independent financial councillor before consolidating debt, it doesn't always work out cheaper. Overall the product is poor but the services and customer service is great (and their sales staff are very persuasive). No hard feelings, just beware.

My past experience with personal banking included exuberant fees, time consuming and far from hassle free access to my funds. National Australia Bank can only be described as a breath of fresh air. I am able to transfer funds freely, access my money without concern that my account will be depleted with transaction fees, and most importantly convenient access. The customer service is always prompt, extremely friendly and helpful. I was recently withdrawing funds for a new car and was offered, with no pressure for assistance in setting up insurance for my new car. I can only recommend them at this time!

They made it easy to break the deposit when we needed to access these funds in an emergency & didn't make us feel like it was a bad thing to access our money like other providers have. They're always happy to help & made you feel like they appreciate that the service they offered was there for your benefit, not for them to make money off us. Really really appreciated this.

The St George car loans taken out through car dealers are woeful. Even the car salesman said 'if you want to check your loan balance - go through us, it easier'. Hardly a ringing endorsement. You are given no log in for an online account, sent no paperwork by the bank and generally kept in the dark. Here's the best bit...if you don't pay out the loan before a certain date you are liable for an exorbitant pay out fee. And when you do pay it out you have to demand a pay out acknowledgement! Like St George himself, this loan belongs in the Dark Ages. Avoid like the plague.

Reviewed 3 days ago 2015-03-20T16:13:40+11:00After the 2014 hail storms, they have not been overly supportive of our claims. My partner's car was later written off via a T-bone accident and her excess was charged twice covering each claim separately. They also lacked follow through and took days of chasing to action the claim and get the car assessed.
