Rape City (2013): Examining the terrible rape problem that afflicts the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) At least 200,000 people have been raped in DRC since 1996. With devastating frankness National Army soldiers confess to raping women and children in the towns they were supposed to be protecting from rebels. For downloads and more information visit: http://journey.webbler.co.uk/?lid=65206 "Raping gave us a lot of pleasure. When we rape we feel free", confesses a Congolese National Army soldier. He admits to raping 53 women and children, some as young as 5 years old. In this endemic cycle of violence, children born of rape are getting raped. According to Ida Sawyer from Human Rights Watch, the army commanders responsible for these horrific abuses are not brought to justice; instead they are often "rewarded and given positions of power and wealth". Efforts are being made to address this state of impunity; those in charge "must be pursued on a criminal level for these serious crimes", says the Military Prosecutor of North Kivu. But with the judicial system mostly fractured and forgotten, the only ones bearing the consequences are the victims. Their faith in the country has plummeted; as one victim says, "our army has looted and raped their own people. Our life in Congo has no meaning". Aloha folks! Welcome back to Democracy 3: Clones & Drones, the latest DLC for Democracy 3, a political decision making game that puts your abilities as a leader to the test. This time we are going to be taking the Social Democratic party in the United Kingdom for a spin around a very messy country in a terrible world recession. For official information on the game, read below. I am also very thankful to Positech Games who handed me down this copy of the DLC. ----------------- The population of earth is predicted to hit 9 billion in 2040, up from 7 billion today. Climate change threatens the food supply on which those 9 billion will depend. Meanwhile Technological growth threatens to put tens or even hundreds of millions out of work, and an over-use of antibiotics means we may soon see widespread resistance to them and a resurgence of once forgotten diseases. Combine this with a stock market now increasingly controlled by computers, wars increasingly waged by machine and the future looks more uncertain than ever. Into this chaos steps YOU. As newly elected president, you have these problems in your inbox on day one. Positech Games announce the release of Democracy 3: Clones & Drones, the expansion for their hit strategy game for the PC. Adding new policies, situations, dilemmas and events to the game to simulate the challenges of the immediate future. Players now need to keep an eye on global food prices, as well as worry about the impacts (good and bad) of industrial automation. Conservatives may have issues with human cloning, Liberals may have an issue with the use of Drone strikes... Ultimately it's up to you to keep the country in one piece, and your re-election chances intact. Features: New Policies: Human Cloning Research Grants Drone Strike Act Electric Cars Initiative Climate Change Adaption Fund One Child Policy Mars Program Antibiotics Ban Mandatory Microchip Implant Home Fabrication Grants Rare Earth Metal Mining Driverless Car Laws Synthetic Meat Research Grants Internet Currency Taxation Anti-Gravity Research Grants Vertical Farm Subsidies Electronic Direct Democracy Green Electronics Initiative International Fusion Research Project Farmland Acquisition Program Limit Automated Trading Automation Tax New Situations Cyclones Food crisis Drone Protests Rare earth crisis Real estate bubble Luddite Riots Antibiotics-Resistant Bacteria Water shortage Weather Prediction Technology Virtual Reality Market Leader Plus new dilemmas, new events and some new simulation data... PDP publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh spoke to Channels TV on the outburst of their party agent Elder Godsday Orubebe at the collation center this morning. What he told Chanels TV below "In a democratic process, we must follow democratic channels. Yesterday we questioned the opposition party about certain things they had done to challenge states. We expect our members to follow the same process as well. This party has a tradition of decency and will follow democratic channels to lay complaints. Ours is to protest and make our voices heard through recognized channels and wait for democratic process to be followed. We directed our members that everyone should conduct himself within democratic norms and principles. That is all we have to say about that." he said

The Columbus Dispatch 2015-04-06Democracy (grecian Δημοκρατία, from δῆμος [dēmos], „Masses“, and κρατία [kratía], „Rule“, literal: Rules of the Masses) is an egalitarian form of government in which all the citizens of a nation together determine public policy, the laws and the actions of their state, requiring that all citizens (meeting certain qualifications) have an equal opportunity to express their opinion. In practice, "democracy" is the extent to which a given system approximates this ideal, and a given political system is referred to as "a democracy" if it allows a certain approximation to ideal democracy. Although no country has ever granted all its citizens (i.e. including minors) the vote, most countries today hold regular elections based on egalitarian principles, at least in theory.
The most common system that is deemed "democratic" in the modern world is parliamentary democracy in which the voting public takes part in elections and chooses politicians to represent them in a Legislative Assembly. The members of the assembly then make decisions with a majority vote. A purer form is direct democracy in which the voting public makes direct decisions or participates directly in the political process. Elements of direct democracy exist on a local level and on exceptions on national level in many countries, though these systems coexist with representative assemblies.
Keith Theodore Olbermann ( /ˈoʊlbərmən/; born January 27, 1959) is an American political commentator and writer. Most recently, he was the chief news officer of the Current TV network and the host of the Current TV weeknight political commentary program, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, until March 30, 2012, a program he hosted with the same title and a similar format on MSNBC from March 2003 to January 2011.
During his time at MSNBC, Olbermann established a niche in cable news commentary, gaining note for his pointed criticism of mainly right-leaning politicians and public figures such as Fox News Channel commentator Bill O'Reilly,President George W. Bush and 2008 Republican presidential nominee, John McCain. Though he has been described as a "liberal", he has resisted being labelled politically, stating "I'm not a liberal. I'm an American".
Olbermann spent the first twenty years of his career in sports journalism. He was a sports correspondent for CNN and for local TV and radio stations in the 1980s, winning the Best Sportscaster award from the California Associated Press three times. He co-hosted ESPN's SportsCenter from 1992 to 1997. From 1998 to 2001, he was a producer and anchor for Fox Sports Net and a host of Major League Baseball on Fox.
William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III; August 19, 1946) is an American politician who served as the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. Inaugurated at age 46, he was the third-youngest president. He took office at the end of the Cold War, and was the first president of the baby boomer generation. Clinton has been described as a New Democrat. Many of his policies have been attributed to a centrist Third Way philosophy of governance.
Born and raised in Arkansas, Clinton became both a student leader and a skilled musician. He is an alumnus of Georgetown University where he was Phi Beta Kappa and earned a Rhodes Scholarship to attend the University of Oxford. He is married to Hillary Rodham Clinton, who has served as the United States Secretary of State since 2009 and was a Senator from New York from 2001 to 2009. Both Clintons received law degrees from Yale Law School, where they met and began dating. As Governor of Arkansas, Clinton overhauled the state's education system, and served as Chair of the National Governors Association.
