[from trailer]::General Aladeen: Is there any way you could lend me some money? Maybe... 20 million dollars?
General Aladeen: Why are you guys so anti-dictators? Imagine if America was a dictatorship. You could let 1% of the people have all the nation's wealth. You could help your rich friends get richer by cutting their taxes. And bailing them out when they gamble and lose. You could ignore the needs of the poor for health care and education. Your media would appear free, but would secretly be controlled by one person and his family. You could wiretap phones. You could torture foreign prisoners. You could have rigged elections. You could lie about why you go to war. You could fill your prisons with one particular racial group, and no one would complain. You could use the media to scare the people into supporting policies that are against their interests.
Doctor: [Aladeen rewrote the language so his name means both "positive" and "negative"] Do you want the Aladeen news or the Aladeen news?::Patient: The Aladeen news?::Doctor: You're HIV-Aladeen.
General Aladeen: [to his pregnant wife] Are you having a boy or an abortion?
Pregnant Woman: You two make a cute couple. But could you do this later? When you're not *elbow deep in my PUSSY!*
Nadal: I am a mac genius.::General Aladeen: So what do you do?::Nadal: Mostly I clean semen out of laptops.
General Aladeen: Oh it's a girl. I'm so sorry. Where's the trashcan?
General Aladeen: Sub Saharan, can you have 150 child warriors here by 5:00pm?
Nadal: When the thought of someones decapitated head upsets you, that is love.
General Aladeen: You seem educated.::Zoey: Yes, I went to Amherst.::General Aladeen: I love it when women go to school. It's like seeing a monkey on rollerskates. It means nothing to them, but it's so adorable for us.

Tobin Keller: Tell me about the Interpreter.
Silvia Broome: Vengeance is a lazy form of grief.
Silvia Broome: Any leads?::Tobin Keller: Maybe one. Come on down to Mexico. [hands her a picture of a rally, her face can be seen among the crowd] Is that you? Can you tell me what somebody like you, who uses the word "diplomacy", like she's chastising me, is doing at a rebel rally?::Silvia Broome: A peace rally.::Tobin Keller: I don't want to do this again!::Silvia Broome: That's exactly what it is. What I am doing is listening.::Tobin Keller: After that, after you listen.::Silvia Broome: You're asking the wrong question.::Tobin Keller: I'm asking you the question you don't want to answer.::Silvia Broome: Why would somebody take a picture and type the names of everyone in it on the back. This is a death list. The question you should be asking is "who gave me this?" and "why?"
Silvia Broome: Listen, I'm scared, and my protector is some one who doesn't believe me.::Tobin Keller: You don't look scared...::Silvia Broome: People handle fear in different ways, Mr. Keller. It turns some people into stand up comedians. You don't know me at all. Maybe I should talk to someone else about assigning someone to look after me who's better suited to the job.::Tobin Keller: My job is not to look after you, it's to look after the man who's been threatened, if there was a threat. My job, as it concerns you, is to investigate you.::Silvia Broome: So you're not here to offer me any protection whatsoever?::Tobin Keller: No, Ma'am.::Silvia Broome: [handing him back his card] And we were getting along so well.
Silvia Broome: Do you think I'm making it up? Why would I report a threat I didn't hear?::Tobin Keller: People do.::Silvia Broome: I don't.::Tobin Keller: Some people like attention.::Silvia Broome: I don't!::Tobin Keller: Maybe you don't want Zuwanie at the U.N.::Silvia Broome: I didn't make it up.::Tobin Keller: How do you feel about him?::Silvia Broome: I don't care for him.::Tobin Keller: Wouldn't mind if he were dead?::Silvia Broome: I wouldn't mind if he were gone.::Tobin Keller: Same thing.::Silvia Broome: No, it isn't. If I interpreted gone as dead I'd be out of a job, if dead and gone were the same thing there'd be no UN.::Tobin Keller: Your profession is playing with words Ms. Broome.::Silvia Broome: I don't play with words.::Tobin Keller: You're doing it right now.::Silvia Broome: No, you are. If I wanted him dead, I wouldn't have reported it. I would sit back and let it happen. That's not what I want, that's not why I'm here.
Tobin Keller: You think that not getting caught in a lie is the same thing as telling the truth.

EFF WILL MEET ZUMA ON THE 12 OF FEBRUARY
The European dream of peace, prosperity and tolerance has been shaken up in recent years by the financial crisis, regional conflicts and populism. And while dialogue remains one of Europe’s core values, few groups seem to be interested in it, both domestically and abroad. How can we ensure that peaceful means of conflict resolution prevail in an environment increasingly taken to violence? And how much value is there in dialogue if your opponents are unwilling to talk? Oksana is joined by Walter Schwimmer, former secretary-general of the Council of Europe and co-chairman of the World Public Forum - Dialogue of Civilizations, to resolve these issues. *** Recorded at the "European Choice: globalization or re-sovereignization" forum, Geneva Press Club, March 6 *** Follow Worlds Apart on Twitter http://twitter.com/WorldsApart_RT Like Worlds Apart on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/WorldsApart.RT +1 Worlds Apart on Google+ https://www.google.com/+WorldsApartRT Listen to us on SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/rttv/sets/worlds-apart Like RT on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/RTnews Follow RT on Twitter http://twitter.com/RT_com Follow RT on Google+ http://plus.google.com/+RT RT (Russia Today) is a global news network broadcasting from Moscow and Washington studios.
Joint press point with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the Prime Minister of Finland, Alexander Stubb, 5 March 2015, Helsinki, Finland.
Equal parts diplomat and advocate, civil servant and CEO, the Secretary-General is a symbol of United Nations ideals and a spokesman for the interests of the world's peoples, in particular the poor and vulnerable among them. Mr. Ban took office in January 2007. In June 2011, he was unanimously re-elected by the General Assembly and will continue to serve as the leader of the United Nations until the end of 2016. Mr. Ban's priorities have been to mobilize world leaders around a set of new global challenges, from climate change and economic upheaval to pandemics and increasing pressures involving food, energy, and water. We talk with him about the civil war in Syria, climate change, and food security.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg delivered a speech at the German Marshall Fund on Tuesday (28 October 2014) setting out three priorities to ensure the Alliance is able to address current and future security challenges: keeping NATO strong, working with partners to bring more stability to NATO’s neighbourhood, and keeping the bond between Europe and North America “rock solid” with Allies on both sides of the Atlantic playing their full part.
On 6 February 2015 the NATO Secretary General gave a speech at the Munich Security Conference. He addressed the conference question: Is the international order on the brink of collapse? He responded, “No, not as long as the guardians of the international order remain ready to act.” He then covered three key points: keeping NATO strong, building stability with our neighbors and charting a course for relations with Russia.

The NATO Secretary General participated in a working meeting with Foreign Minister Lavrov during the Munich Security Conference. During the meeting the Secretary General repeated NATO’s strong support for a sovereign and independent Ukraine and underscored Russia’s responsibility for the critical situation. The Secretary General explained NATO’s reassurance measures, which are proportionate, defensive and fully in line with our international commitments. He underlined the importance of finding a political solution to the conflict in Ukraine, the importance of support for the talks and the dialogue now taking place, which was initiated by Chancellor Merkel and President Hollande. He added that it is important that any agreement is implemented and respected.

Pre-ministerial press conference by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg - Questions and Answers, 1 December 2014.
On October 28, the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), in partnership with NATO, hosted Jens Stoltenberg, newly appointed NATO secretary general, to deliver his first policy address on the future of the Alliance. Dr. Karen Donfried, president of GMF, moderated the event. Echoing the decisions made at the Wales Summit in September, Stoltenberg emphasized the necessity of keeping NATO strong. The complex strategic landscapes at NATO’s Eastern and Southern borders have made it extremely important to uphold NATO’s identity as an impactful political and military organization. Along those lines, preserving and strengthening collective defense by preventing further cuts to the national defense budgets of NATO allies and enacting the recently agreed upon Readiness Action Plan will remain a priority within the NATO agenda. Stoltenberg concluded that the following decade will be a critical time for NATO and its partners. The Alliance will be faced with a number of challenges developing beyond its borders, ranging from conflict and instability fueled by extremism in North Africa and the Middle East, to the threat of Russian expansionism in the East, to emerging challenges such as cyber-attacks and energy security. To effectively address these issues, NATO leadership will need to focus on further solidifying cooperation amongst its allies and build upon its partnerships with international, regional and local organizations that operate within targeted conflict regions. Stoltenberg also firmly affirmed his resolve to work closely with North American and European Union leadership in ensuring that transatlantic bonds remain solid and able to address the challenges that lie ahead.

NATO: Strong Together in an Unpredictable World. Opening remarks by NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen at the Bundespressekonferenz in Berlin, 2 July 2014. (Source: ZDF) I have just had an excellent series of meetings with Chancellor Merkel and with ministers Steinmeier and von der Leyen. I thanked each of them for their personal commitment and leadership in our Alliance. We discussed the wide range of security challenges we face, and our plans for the NATO Summit in September. Our summit takes place at a critical time. For 65 years, the NATO Alliance has helped bring peace and prosperity to the free countries of Europe. Today, more than at any time since the end of the Cold War, that is being put to the test. From Eastern Europe to North Africa and the Middle East. So we must remain ready to keep our nations safe. To respond to any threat. To reinforce our network of partners around the world. To help keep the world stable and secure. And all allies must take their share of responsibility in keeping our transatlantic alliance strong. I thank Germany for your leading role in Afghanistan. Your troops have done a remarkable job in the north of the country, as I saw for myself when I visited Mazar-e-Sharif. Across the country, security has created the conditions for a better Afghanistan and given the Afghan people the opportunity to develop their country and to decide their own future. At the end of the year, we will end our combat mission and turn a new page in Afghanistan. Germany has again taken a leading role in offering to be framework nation in the new non-combat mission we are planning after 2014. Taking the lead in training, advising and assisting Afghan forces. Building on the many gains we have made. Germany also plays a key role in keeping our collective defence strong. Both to our south, with a Patriot battery in Turkey, and to the east in the Baltic region. In Szczecin in Poland, Germany is working closely with Poland and Denmark to enhance the readiness of NATO's Multinational Corps Headquarters. Contributing additional troops and turning it into a high readiness headquarters. This is a significant contribution to the strengthening our collective defence. Germany's commitment to international peace and security is clear. And this level of commitment is particularly important now. With her actions in Ukraine, Russia has violated international law and torn up the rule book that has served Europe so well since the end of the Cold War. Such behaviour cannot be allowed to return to Europe. No one wants to turn away from our cooperation with Russia. But no one can ignore that Russia has violated the very principles upon which our NATO-Russia cooperation is built. And to which Russia herself was committed. Germany has played a crucial role in the international response to Russia's actions. When Europe and the world needed you, you were there. It is vital for Europe and the world that Germany remains strong. To provide not only political and economical pressure, but military presence as well. So that no country can be in any doubt: If the rules are broken, if our freedom, our people and our borders are threatened, we will respond. Of course, Germany's defence priorities are for Germany to decide. But I would urge you, as I urge every Ally to give increased priority to your defence. As European economies recover from the economic crisis, so too should our investment in defence. Today, our world is more dangerous and more unstable than at any time since the end of the Cold War. By facing up to this reality, by investing in our own defence, and by standing together as one through the NATO Alliance, we will ensure our peace and security for another 65 years and beyond.

A top official of Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) has claimed that the government has prepared a bill to build underground tunnels for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s residences in Istanbul and Ankara. CHP Secretary General Gürsel Tekin pointed to an article of the omnibus bill that was debated at Turkey’s parliament in his statement to daily Sözcü on March 19. According to Tekin, the article, which stipulates that citizens will no longer be paid compensation if the administration builds a tunnel passing under their property, has an ulterior motive. “We have received information suggesting that the construction of a tunnel between Erdoğan’s residence in Istanbul and the nearby Çamlıca Mosque has already started. It will be a 3 km tunnel,” Tekin was quoted as saying. He also said initial studies are being made for the construction of a tunnel between the new presidential palace in Ankara and the Etimesgut Military Airport, which is 15 km away. “What routes will be chosen for these tunnels, for which they are trying to avoid paying expropriation? I warn citizens that their houses could be demolished,” Tekin said, claiming that his party’s headquarters could also be included in the route of the tunnel in Ankara.

Russia's new treaty with Georgia's breakaway South Ossetia region breaks international law and hampers efforts to strengthen regional security, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Wednesday. Stoltenberg said the agreement "violates Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and blatantly contradicts the principles of international law, OSCE principles and Russia's international commitments. "This so-called treaty is yet another move by the Russian Federation that hampers ongoing efforts by the international community to strengthen security and stability in the region," Stoltenberg said in a statement, adding that NATO did not recognize the treaty. ►Circle us on Google + http://goo.gl/TXeBfX ►Subscribe Channel http://goo.gl/mqt0wI ►Don't forget to Like * Comment * Share this video. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stay tuned, Stay connected

The Syrian uprising is an ongoing, violent internal conflict in Syria. It is part of the wider Arab Spring, a wave of upheaval throughout the Arab world. Public demonstrations across Syria began on 26 January 2011 and developed into a nationwide uprising. Protesters demanded the resignation of President Bashar al-Assad, the overthrow of his government, and an end to nearly five decades of Ba’ath Party rule.
Since spring 2011, the Syrian government has deployed the Syrian Army to quell the uprising. Several cities have been besieged, but nevertheless the unrest continues. According to witnesses, soldiers who refused to open fire on civilians were summarily executed by the Syrian Army. The Syrian government denied reports of defections, and blamed "armed gangs" for causing trouble. Since early autumn 2011, civilians and army defectors began forming fighting units, which began an insurgency campaign against the Syrian Army. The insurgents unified under the banner of the Free Syrian Army and fought in an increasingly organized fashion; however, the civilian component of the armed opposition lacks an organized leadership.
