Eddie Dean: [Whistling Sam Wade has ambushed and killed Tennessee. At Tennessee's graveside funeral, Eddie Dean delivers this eulogy] Oh Heavenly Father, our beloved Tennessee has gone to join the great roundup in Heaven. He left us here on earth his will. Not the kind of will that most men leave of gold and riches, but a will of truth and beauty, something money cannot buy. He left us the rolling hills of the West which he loved so dearly, the glorious sunrise and magnificent sunset of each new day. He left us the memory of a courageous spirit undaunted by trials and hardships. He left us his love to enjoy and share with our fellow man. Humbly we ask understanding and appreciation of all of these things. Amen

Thank you for watching & please subscribe us! On Wednesday, while speaking to the National Association of Attorneys General, FBI Director James Comey said there are so-called homegrown extremists in every state. “We have investigations of people in various stages of radicalizing in all 50 states,” Comey said. The comment comes in the wake of three New York men arrested for trying to join ISIS. Former Homeland Security Chief Tom Ridge, who served in the post from 2003 to 2005, spoke at a conference in Franklin on Thursday. He echoed Comey’s comments. “I think we should say that just about every state there are people that are sympathetic [to terrorism], if not supportive,” Ridge said. Two months ago in Memphis, the FBI received a tip that ISIS had ordered one of its members living in Memphis to blow-up the Memphis-Arkansas Bridge. The FBI investigated the tip but later said the threat was unfounded. The FBI says that ISIS’ online propaganda paints a picture of a better life for those who are considering joining the terrorist group. Both the FBI and the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security declined to comment on any current investigations in Tennessee. The Tennessee Office of Homeland Security released a statement to News 2 saying, in part, “The Tennessee Office of Homeland Security works closely with our federal, state, and local partners to stop all forms of homegrown violent extremism, including those that may involve individuals interested in ISIS.” Ridge said one key to combating homegrown terrorists was for the federal government to do a better job of involving state and local law enforcement in investigations. “[The federal government] can’t secure the country from inside the beltway. I don’t care how many thousands of employees you have; you still need the state and local [governments]. They’re the ones in the crosshairs,” Ridge said.

A cribbed dear, all of four weeks old, is bottle fed by her human carer in a video recently circulated online. And it's adorable. The fawn, named Liddy Bug by her owners in Bedford County, Tennessee, is a real cutie. The squeaky thing is fond of a treat called Banana Puffs for babies. This will be one delicious deer when she grows up. But for now, Liddy Bug enjoys the benevolence of her human captors. One wrote these gushing words online: "She makes a squeaky toy noise when she is 'talking' to us. Muntjac deer have scent glands close under their eyes, and I have noticed hers open the most when she smells her bottle coming. She is very curious and slowly checks everything out. 11/11/14 - NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty and Nashville Mayor Karl Dean along with Bridgestone Americas, Inc. officials announced today the company’s plans to relocate its headquarters to downtown Nashville in a newly constructed facility slated for completion in mid-to-late 2017. The headquarters will house employees currently based in Nashville, as well as those from three out-of-state business units that are being relocated to the city. Bridgestone Americas’ investment in the planned 514,000 square foot, 30-story headquarters is valued at $232.6 million and will create 607 new jobs in Davidson County. “We are grateful for Bridgestone’s ongoing commitment to Tennessee,” Haslam said. “This is one of our state’s best known brands and a company that would be more than welcome anywhere in the world. “It says a lot for our state that Bridgestone Americas is building a new headquarters and creating more than 600 new jobs here. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with the company in the years to come.” “Tennessee consistently ranks as the top state in automotive manufacturing strength, and when a thriving company like Bridgestone Americas chooses to broaden its home base in Tennessee, it further solidifies our position as the epicenter of the new Southern Automotive Corridor,” Hagerty said. “As a state, we strive to show Tennessee companies that we are a brand that supports their brand. I could not be more pleased with Bridgestone Americas’ decision to relocate its new headquarters to downtown Nashville, and I applaud the company for providing these jobs to our state’s superior workforce.” Bridgestone Americas is scheduled to break ground in early 2015 with planned occupancy in the third quarter of 2017. The new headquarters, located at 4th Ave. S. and Demonbreun St., is expected to be home base for more than 1,700 employees. “Uniting teammates from our core business units in one location is fundamental to continuing to build a bright, sustainable future for our company,” Gary Garfield, CEO and president of Bridgestone Americas, said. “Under one roof, we will increase collaboration, innovation and growth across our lines of business. Current and future teammates will benefit by being part of an exciting and motivating workplace culture intensely focused on meeting the needs of those who buy our products and services. “We received world-class receptions and very competitive offers from several major cities. At the end of the day, Nashville prevailed. The city offers a great quality of life and low business costs, with a reasonable cost of living for our teammates. Downtown Nashville is vibrant and growing. Locating here makes perfect sense, given Bridgestone’s existing strong presence in and deep ties to Nashville and Middle Tennessee,” Garfield added. “Bridgestone Americas has been one of our signature companies for many years, and Nashville is proud to be their partner as they invest even more in our community by building a new headquarters and bringing 600 new jobs here,” Mayor Dean said. “Bridgestone was ready to join its businesses under one roof, either here or in some other city. So this means 1,700 employees who might have worked elsewhere will be contributing to our economy instead by working, living, eating and shopping here. This is huge for Nashville.” “TVA and NES congratulate Bridgestone on its latest announced plans to expand and create hundreds of new jobs in Nashville,” TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley said. “We are proud to be partners with the state of Tennessee, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce to assist growing employers like Bridgestone.” Bridgestone has outgrown its current leased headquarters facility on Marriott Drive near Nashville International Airport. With its lease expiring in late 2017, the company launched an extensive search for a new headquarters location to support future growth. The new headquarters will be home to Bridgestone Americas corporate staff and supporting functions, as well as Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC; Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC; Firestone Building Products Company, LLC; and Firestone Industrial Products Company, LLC.

Maverick entrepreneur Mark Cuban described his picture of an ideal world to attendees of the Inc. GrowCo conference in Nashville, Tenn. http://www.inc.com/amy-whyte/if-mark-cuban-ruled-the-world.html Mark Cuban made headlines this week with the unflinchingly honest remarks he made at Inc.'s 17th annual GrowCo conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The outspoken entrepreneur gave his opinion on everything from whether Donald Sterling should be banned from the NBA to how to fix the economy. On stage before a packed audience of entrepreneurs, Inc. President and Editor-in-Chief Eric Schurenberg asked Cuban the instantly intoxicating question: What would you change if you were in charge? Naturally, Cuban jumped on the question. (He's obviously been thinking about this!) From abolishing patents to reforming the NBA, here's how the world would look if Cuban was King: Eliminate software patents. "Patent law right now holds us back in every which way shape and form," said Cuban, who added that he was once sued over a film distribution technique his company developed after someone else decided to file a patent for the technique. "In software, there's no place for it." Change the culture of professional sports. When Cuban purchased the Dallas Mavericks in 2000, he immediately instituted a new rule: "If you mention our win or loss record, you're fired." Cuban made it clear that even though he owned a NBA team, he wasn't in the business of basketball--he was in the business of entertainment. "The one thing you can't control in sports is which games you're going to win and which games you're going to lose," he said. "What I could control was the experience fans have." Put a $10,000 cap on student loans. The current student debt crisis, Cuban argued, is hurting the economy more than anything else. It's taking away the spending power of college graduates and decreasing overall consumption. He blamed skyrocketing college tuition costs on the availability of student loans. "It's easy to get that loan because the government guarantees it," he said. "And because it's easy for you to take out a loan, it's easy for the colleges to ask for more, because then the potential students just take out bigger loans." The move might put some schools out of business, Cuban admitted, but the universities that survived would come back smarter and more efficient. "Until you fix the student loan bubble and the tuition bubble, we don't have a chance," he said. Encourage organizational resilience. When discussing the upcoming vote to ban Sterling from the NBA for making racist remarks, Cuban stopped short of indicating how he'd vote. But, overall, he described the ban as a "slippery slope" and admitted that he himself is bigoted in some ways. After he asserted that everyone is prejudiced in some way or another, he argued that it was impossible to keep "stupid" out of an organization, as there was no law against it. "People are going to be stupid and make mistakes," said Cuban. Ok, so this point isn't totally in keeping with the "how Cuban would change the world" rubric, but overhauling people's perceptions would surely be a top priority.
Lost wages, business sales, and tax revenue- those are just three of the ways taxpayers are affected by weather-related shutdowns. The American Highway Users Alliance says both business and government entities are impacted by one day of a major storm shutdown. "A state like Tennessee and Georgia is going to take a lot less snow and ice to make an economic impact than a state like New York or Massachusetts," Bruce Hamilton. While the cost of this weather system is unclear, Bruce Hamilton says his team has calculated an estimate. "The 300 to 700 million dollars is the cost per day for the closures. Those costs are direct and indirect. That's money that's actually being spent to deal with the closure that is also money lost by people that can't get to work." But, closings affect more than just the city, they also affect school districts. The National Association of Secondary School Principals says the day-to-day school attendance won't typically affect a school's finances, but it can lead to cuts if test scores sink or if schools can't fulfill a grant obligation based on instructional time. Still, Chattanoogans like Charles Denney believe there's no cost too great for saving lives. "For the kids safety, they shouldn't have been out here today," says Charles Denney. by Mikaya Thurmond
Robert Allen Stanford (born March 24, 1950) is a former prominent financier and sponsor of professional sports who is serving a 110-year prison sentence, having been convicted of charges that his investment company was a massive Ponzi scheme and fraud. Stanford was the chairman of the now defunct Stanford Financial Group of Companies. A fifth-generation Texan who once resided in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, he holds dual citizenship, being a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda and the United States. He contributed millions of dollars to politicians in both Antigua and the United States amongst other countries. In early 2009, Stanford became the subject of several fraud investigations, and on February 17, 2009, was charged by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with fraud and multiple violations of U.S. securities laws for alleged "massive ongoing fraud" involving $7 billion in certificates of deposits.[4][5] The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided Stanford's offices in Houston, Texas; Memphis, Tennessee; and Tupelo, Mississippi.[7] On February 27, 2009, the SEC amended its complaint to describe the alleged fraud as a "massive Ponzi scheme".[8] He "voluntarily surrendered" to authorities on June 18, 2009.[9][10] On March 6, 2012, Stanford was convicted on all charges except a single count of wire fraud.[11] He is serving his 110-year sentence at United States Penitentiary, Coleman in Coleman, Florida.[12] As of September 2014, he is appealing his conviction. Reports surfaced in early February 2009 that the SEC, the FBI, the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), a major U.S. private-sector oversight body, were investigating Stanford's company Stanford Financial Group,[22] questioning the consistently higher-than-market returns which Stanford International Bank claimed to make for its depositors.[23] A former executive told SEC officials that Stanford presented hypothetical investment results as actual historical data in sales pitches to clients.[24] Stanford claimed his CDs were as safe as, or safer than, U.S. government-insured accounts.[25] A leaked cable message from the U.S. Embassy in the Bahamas reported as early as 2006 that companies under Stanford's control were "rumored to engage in bribery, money laundering, and political manipulation". The U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas at the time was reported to have "managed to stay out of any one-on-one photos with Stanford" during a charity breakfast event.[26] Federal agents raided the offices of Stanford Financial on February 17, 2009,[27] and treated it as "a kind of crime scene — cautioning people not to leave fingerprints".[28] The SEC charged Allen Stanford with "massive ongoing fraud" centered on an eight-billion-dollar investment scheme.[4][29] Stanford's assets, along with those of his companies, were frozen and placed into receivership by a U.S. federal judge,[30] who also ordered Stanford to surrender his passport.[31] CNBC later reported that Stanford tried to flee the country on the same day as the raids on his headquarters: he contacted a private jet owner and attempted to pay for a flight to Antigua with a credit card, but was refused because the company would accept only a wire transfer.[32] FBI agents, acting at the request of the SEC, on February 19 located Stanford at his girlfriend's house near Fredericksburg, Virginia, and served him with civil legal papers filed by the SEC.[33] Stanford was not arrested until June 18, 2009.[34] Stanford surrendered his passport to federal prosecutors, and hired criminal defense lawyer Brendan Sullivan, known for having represented Oliver North.[35] The SEC often files civil charges before criminal charges are filed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Stanford

http://thefilmarchive.org/ November 13, 1993 The South witnessed two major events in the lives of 20th century African Americans: the Great Migration and the American Civil Rights Movement. The Great Migration began during World War I, hitting its high point during World War II. During this migration, blacks left the South to find work in Northern factories and other sectors of the economy. The migration also empowered the growing Civil Rights Movement. While the movement existed in all parts of the United States, its focus was against disfranchisement and the Jim Crow laws in the South. Most of the major events in the movement occurred in the South, including the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Mississippi Freedom Summer, the March on Selma, Alabama, and the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.. In addition, some of the most important writings to come out of the movement were written in the South, such as King's "Letter from Birmingham Jail". Most of the civil rights landmarks can be found around the South. The Martin Luther King, Jr., National Historic Site in Atlanta includes a museum that chronicles the American Civil Rights Movement as well as Martin Luther King, Jr.'s boyhood home on Auburn Avenue. Additionally, Ebenezer Baptist Church is located in the Sweet Auburn district as is the King Center, location of Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King's gravesites. As a result of the Civil Rights Movement, Jim Crow laws across the South were dropped. A second migration appears to be underway, with African Americans from the North moving to the South in record numbers. While race relations are still a contentious issue in the South, the region surpasses the rest of the country in many areas of integration and racial equality. According to 2003 report by researchers at the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee, Virginia Beach, Charlotte, Nashville-Davidson, and Jacksonville were the four most integrated of the nation's fifty largest cities, with Memphis at number six. Southern states tend to have a low disparity in incarceration rates between blacks and whites relative to the rest of the country. The northern Democrats' support of civil rights issues culminated when Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson signed into law the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 which ended legal segregation and provided federal enforcement of voting rights for blacks. In the presidential election of 1964, Barry Goldwater's only electoral victories outside his home state of Arizona were in the states of the Deep South where few blacks could vote before the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Pockets of resistance to integration in public places broke out in violence during the 1960s by the shadowy Ku Klux Klan, which caused a backlash among moderates. Major resistance to school busing extending into the 1970s. National Republicans such as Richard Nixon began to develop their Southern strategy to attract conservative white Southerners, especially the middle class and suburban voters, in addition to traditional GOP pockets (such as Appalachia) and migrants from the North. The transition to a Republican stronghold in the South took decades. First, the states started voting Republican in presidential elections, except for native sons Jimmy Carter in 1976, Bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996. Then the states began electing Republican senators and finally governors. Georgia was the last state to do so, with Sonny Perdue taking the governorship in 2002. In addition to its middle class and business base, Republicans cultivated the religious right and attracted strong majorities from the evangelical or Fundamentalist vote, mostly Southern Baptists, which had not been a distinct political force prior to 1980. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_United_States

Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Presley moved to Memphis, Tennessee, with his family at the age of 13. He began his career there in 1954 when Sun Records owner Sam Phillips, eager to bring the sound of African American music to a wider audience, saw in Presley the means to realize his ambition. Accompanied by guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black, Presley was one of the originators of rockabilly, an uptempo, backbeat-driven fusion of country and rhythm and blues. RCA Victor acquired his contract in a deal arranged by Colonel Tom Parker, who would manage the singer for over two decades. Presley's first RCA single, "Heartbreak Hotel", released in January 1956, was a number one hit. He became the leading figure of the newly popular sound of rock and roll with a series of network television appearances and chart-topping records. His energized interpretations of songs, many from African American sources, and his uninhibited performance style made him enormously popular—and controversial. In November 1956, he made his film debut in Love Me Tender. Conscripted into military service in 1958, Presley relaunched his recording career two years later with some of his most commercially successful work. He staged few concerts, however, and, guided by Parker, proceeded to devote much of the 1960s to making Hollywood movies and soundtrack albums, most of them critically derided. In 1968, after seven years away from the stage, he returned to live performance in a celebrated comeback television special that led to an extended Las Vegas concert residency and a string of profitable tours. In 1973, Presley staged the first concert broadcast globally via satellite, Aloha from Hawaii, seen by approximately 1.5 billion viewers. Prescription drug abuse severely compromised his health, and he died suddenly in 1977 at the age of 42. Presley is regarded as one of the most important figures of 20th-century popular culture. He had a versatile voice and unusually wide success encompassing many genres, including country, pop ballads, gospel, and blues. He is the best-selling solo artist in the history of popular music.[1][2][3][4] Nominated for 14 competitive Grammys, he won three, and received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at age 36. He has been inducted into four music halls of fame.

As part of the U.S. Embassy’s Vietnam “people to people” outreach efforts, seven (7) of the nine (9) shows are FREE to the public. Peiser said, As Co-Founder and Executive Producer of the Center for Southern Folklore for over 40 years I’ve learned from, presented and celebrated the music and culture of people from across Memphis Tennessee and the Delta Region of the United States. I believe music and dance bring people and communities together and look forward to showcasing Memphis’ talented performers on this international stage. The tour is more than just great entertainment. It is all about connecting people. There will be dance instruction, harmonica playing, song writing, arts and crafts demonstrations and more. I believe the tour performances and creative sessions will provide a vehicle for artists and audiences to learn more about one another, as we share our music and culture one person at a time. Vietnam has one of the youngest populations in all of Asia with most people less than 35 years old. They are immensely curious about America. Our Memphis Music & Culture Tour gives us the opportunity to create great relationships with the people of Vietnam. The tour’s IndieGoGo Global Crowd Funding Initiative is focused to raise money to reach more people in Vietnam and allow us to: 1. Produce signage and flyers in Vietnamese to enhance and promote FREE SHOWS and OUT REACH PROGRAMS. 2. Host events for Memphis artists to meet Vietnamese artists. 3. Provide pop up performances at parks in Hanoi and the provincial cities we visit. 4. Extend our Memphis Music Student Programs to reach more colleges and universities. 5. Pay for street teams to promote THE FREE SHOWS in Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong and Ha Long Bay. NASHVILLE (AP) -- Gov. Bill Haslam's proposal to extend health coverage to 280,000 low-income Tennesseans has failed during a special legislative session. The Senate Health Committee defeated the Republican governor's Insure Tennessee plan Wednesday on a 7-4 vote. Haslam spent 21 months negotiating a special deal for Tennessee that included market-based elements like vouchers to buy private insurance, co-pays and assurances that the state could pull out of the deal if it ended up being more expensive than expected. Hospitals pledged to cover the $74 million state share, meaning taxpayers wouldn't be on the hook for for extra health insurance costs. However, opponents of the Insure Tennessee proposal objected to adding to the federal debt by having the state draw down $2.8 billion in federal money under President Barack Obama's health care law. Republican Sen. Kerry Roberts of Springfield said one of the reasons he voted against the measure is because he wanted to see more details about consequences the state would face if it pulled out of the plan. "This was a very agonizing decision for everyone on that committee," he said.

As a Qualified Health Plan issuer in the insurance exchanges, which go live tomorrow, BlueCross says it will offer up to 54 plans in all 95 Tennessee counties. BlueCross is the only insurance company to offer plans across the entire state. "We are focused on helping individuals access affordable, quality health insurance coverage through the Marketplace," said Henry Smith, chief marketing officer for BlueCross, in a statement. "We've positioned our rates to be very competitive, and we feel that, between our affordable pricing and high-value physician networks, that we are the best choice for Tennesseans looking for insurance." For example, a 40-year-old person living in the Memphis area, making 150 percent of the poverty level (about $17,200 annually), would pay $50 a month for coverage with a middle-tier "Silver" plan, according to the insurer. Residents of Memphis and neighboring communities in West Tennessee will have more insurance choices than most of their fellow Tennessee citizens under Obamacare. Consumers in Shelby and four other counties in West Tennessee will be able to choose from BlueCross, Cigna, Humana and a state-developed Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (co-op) called the Community Health Alliance. The Health Insurance Marketplace, a central part of the Affordable Care Act, is supposed to provide a simplified way for consumers to compare individual market health insurance plans. Tomorrow -- government shutdown or not — Americans will be able to use the Marketplace to shop for and purchase health insurance coverage, which will begin Jan. 1, 2014. http://youtu.be/4fxF-u5v4x0 http://youtu.be/_rxeQgdcoZ8 http://youtu.be/QV45BFWenEk http://youtu.be/-6pDeZaoPyA The Marketplace will offer several kinds of assistance to help you apply for coverage and choose a plan that meets your needs.

This was my senior project I did in high school. I went around town and shot popular tourism spots. It was very interesting, but also very difficult because some of the places I went to, I had only one chance to shoot what I needed. But when I exported the video, some of the shots got jacked up. I ended up getting 100 as my senior project grade, but I wish I did more stuff with it. Maybe one day I'll re do it or do something slightly different. www.harrisoatesmedia.com

Looking at the numbers and the laws in the state of Tennessee, you'll find clear evidence of a government addicted to drugs. Instead of treating addiction like any addiction as a medical problem that it is, instead Tennessee has chosen the vindictive approach to criminalization. Tennessee claims to be in the Bible Belt yet they insist on destroying people's lives with laws that are worse than the drugs. A college student that goes out and picks up some marijuana for his friends and himself, if caught loses any chance of ever holding a professional job. In Genesis chapter 1 verse 29 God clearly stated that all seed bearing herbs were put here for us. In the New Testament Paul even had the vision that people in the Bible Belt quote all the time about making pork clean to eat would also equate to any plant life. I really wish these people in the Bible Belt would actually read what's written in the book especially the New Testament. Here is a link that shows exactly how draconian the Tennessee marijuana law is with up to 60 years in prison . ( http://norml.org/laws/item/tennessee-penalties-2 ). If you look to see who is lobbying to keep drug prohibition going all you have to do is follow the money. One correction workers union, 2 fraternal order of police, three big pharmaceutical companies, last but not least the drug cartels that would be put out of business if drugs were treated like alcohol. Since the beginning of time throughout all of human history prohibition has never ever worked. Once again look at the Bible. In the beginning there was Adam and Eve only two people on the whole earth, and only one tree they were prohibited from eating. Now do I really need to tell you the rest of the story? Making the same mistake over and over again is the definition of insanity. It is time to end prohibition of everything that is not endangering or infringing on someone else's freedoms. 10 Shocking Reasons to End the Drug War (And Consider Legalization and Regulation ( http://www.buzzfeed.com/copssaylegalizedrugs/10-shocking-reasons-to-end-the-drug-war-and-consi-yvr7 ) EVEN law enforcement officers and Judges are beginning to realize the insanity ( http://www.leap.cc/ ) Tested Prepper supplys http://astore.amazon.com/dsarti1-20 ... Knox News 2015-03-27Tennessee (i/tɛnɨˈsiː/) (Cherokee: ᏔᎾᏏ) is a U.S. state located in the Southeastern United States. Tennessee is the 36th most extensive and the 17th most populous of the 50 United States. Tennessee is bordered by Kentucky and Virginia to the north, North Carolina to the east, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi to the south, and Arkansas and Missouri to the west. The Appalachian Mountains dominate the eastern part of the state, and the Mississippi River forms the state's western border. Tennessee's capital and second largest city is Nashville, which has a population of 626,144.Memphis is the state's largest city, with a population of 670,902.
The state of Tennessee is rooted in the Watauga Association, a 1772 frontier pact generally regarded as the first constitutional government west of the Appalachians. What is now Tennessee was initially part of North Carolina, and later part of the Southwest Territory. Tennessee was admitted to the Union as the 16th state on June 1, 1796. Tennessee was the last state to leave the Union and join the Confederacy at the outbreak of the U.S. Civil War in 1861, and the first state to be readmitted to the Union at the end of the war.
It ain't often I take time to answer calls on the request line
But this one says that we're his best last chance
So all you people in radio land, turn it up loud, loud as you can
Help to carry these words of a desperate man
[Chorus]
Do you believe in love and that we were meant to be?
Two words can free us, so repeat them after me
"I do." from a boy in love to a girl called Tennessee
It's always scary when you find true love
Hits like lightning from high above
You might only get one chance to say
[Repeat Chorus]
He got scared and let her slip away
Now he knows he's not afraid
I'll put him on the air in case she's listening somewhere
Take it to heart, keep in mind
Try to reach out through the telephone line
Caller you're on the air, say it so she hears
I was comin back from Tennessee
Longest road I ever seen
Part of me wanted to stay
Part of me just had to leave
Comin back from Tennessee
Six feet up from the grave
Who did you expect to see?
Not the person that I became.
It's ok, I can see
You're afraid, I can leave.
You could stay
But now I gotta be on my way.
[Chorus:]
All I ever wanted to do
I follow this dream til I made it come true
All I ever wanted to be
Was more than a lie that you still believed
And I leave Tennessee
And I leave Tennessee
Baby did you know I'm alive?
It ain't the resurrection of Christ
You know I tried to swallow my pain.
A lesson that I never survived.
It's ok, I can see
You can stay
Just get out of my fuckin' way
[Chorus:]
All I ever wanted to do
I follow this dream til I made it come true
All I ever wanted to be
Was more than a lie that you still believed
[Birdman:] (I see you Kevin)
And I leave Tennessee
(Birdman)
Yeah, Yeah
In the back of a Bentley, rockin Fendi's
She love me like I love my money
Tennessee colors, all black Hummer
Police know that we been bumpin'
Smoke in da air, no fear
Cash Money billionaires
Two mill a pair,
What we wear, stop and stare
10-a -key, Parrin Fleece
Suede seats, trunk speaks, O.G.
Title 40 got me leavin' Tennessee (believe dat)
[Chorus:]
All I ever wanted to do
I follow this dream til I made it come true
All I ever wanted to be
Was more than a lie that you still believed
I see rocky mountains and great lakes
Stood beneath a redwood tree
But wherever I go my heart aches
For a place called Tennessee
Oh come with me
Where the Whiskey flows like whine
And the meth labs are divine
Oh I wanna be
Where the sweet tobacco grows
And is picked by porny groves
In Tennessee
Oh it's a place where dueling banjos play
And the mountain folk run free
Where all the children can spell kay kay kay
But cannot spell Tennessee
Oh come with me
Where every cheek is filled with chew
And everyone's never seen a jew
Oh I wanna be
Where the hotdogs are deep friend
That's the reason Elvis died
In Tennessee
Oh come with me
Where the backstreet preachers shout
That if your gay you best get out
Oh I wanna be
Where hospitality is a thing
Just ask Martin Luther King
Shoot in Tennessee
The birth place of Aretha queen of soul
The BB king in Al Gore
I'm not saying it's a shit hole
But they don't live there anymore
Oh I wanna see
Mountain dew in every cup
And all the dentists just gave up
Oh come with me
On my fat bed pickup truck
That's were the classy ladies fuck
In Tennessee
We were young, met under the sun in Tennessee,
You found me, and I found you,
You took my heart if only for a day,
Before the road took me away
But I dont wanna drive home,
(I don't wanna drive home)
I just wanna stay a while
Cause no one knows me like you do,
Oh Tennessee she kept my heart with you,
When I'm on the east coast,
I'm hoping she's close and then,
God damn I hope I see her again
I wake to find she's on my mind again,
And I can't shake it out,
With her hips and her lips and the way we kiss,
And the one last touch I won't forget,
Just say you miss me cause I miss you,
And they're all talking 'bout us,
If they only knew
Cause no one knows me like you do,
Oh Tennessee she kept my heart with you,
When I'm on the east coast,
I'm hoping she's close and then,
God damn I hope I see her again
I'm starting to find that those days in Nashville changed my life,
And I'm gonna drive a million miles just to make you mine tonight
So I packed up,
Hit the road,
I said goodbye its time to go,
Darling I'll see you in the morning light
Cause no one knows me like you do,
Oh Tennessee she kept my heart with you,
When I'm on the east coast,
I'm hoping she's close and then,
Your dream can never earn enough
Ultimate nihilistic love
Tennessee nights just zip-code love
Always believe the comfort of strangers
Tennessee eyes graffiti once blue
Media sells a trace of hate
Media sells a trace of hate
Our epitaph reads like your sin
Subvert, destroy, beat derelict
Tennessee nights just zip-code love
Commanche becomes as maggot
Tennessee eyes orange once blue
Media sells a trace of hate
Media sells a trace of hate
His pain forgets her agony
His heart P-M-R-C
His heart P-M-R-C
The white man is disease
His heart P-M-R-C
Your dream can never earn enough
I saw the river playing in the valley
Rushin' 'round the bend and skippin' stones
I saw the meadow wobble in the moonlight
I've come to get my girl and take her home
Her doorbell plays a bar of Stephen Foster
Her sister never left and look what it cost her
We're gonna live in Nashville and I'll make a career
out of writing sad songs and gettin' paid by the tear
Marry me and leave Kentucky, come to Tennessee
Cause you're the only ten I see
You're the only ten I see
I've looked through offices and honky tonks for a man man enough to be
Mr. and Mrs. Tennessee
Mr. and Mrs. Tennessee
Punk rock died when the first kid said
"Punk's not dead, punk's not dead"
You know Louisville is death
We've got to up and move
because the dead do not improve
Goodbye users & suckers & steady badluckers
We're off to the land of club soda unbridled
We're off to the land of hot middle-aged women
Off to the land whose blood runneth orange
Marry me and leave Kentucky, come to Tennessee
Cause you're the only ten I see
You're the only ten I see
I've looked through offices and honky tonks for a man man enough to be
Mr. and Mrs. Tennessee
I got a cool head doin' alright
But I been up here so long I was starving
For some hot spells, summer lights
Shinin' on your back roads
Tennessee
Somebody hit me hard
Right in my own backyard
Somebody put a hope lock on my heart
Runnin' down your back roads
Tennessee
Oh, you got the banjos
Playin' real slow
Not to me, not to me
I never heard such rock and roll
As on your back roads
Tennessee
Now I know you're not to blame
But you know that you should have told me
That I would never be the same
There aren't any back roads
Tennessee
Somebody held me tight
Somebody tried to fight
Somebody raced out in the night
Runnin' down your back roads
Tennessee
Oh, you kissed the soul of a rebel
In a Yankee girl
Oh, you got to me
I heard you callin' 'round the world
From your back roads
Tennessee
I saw somebody standin'
In a field with a crutch
Behind his rich southern daddy
With a Midas touch
They said be outta here by sundown
They said good luck
You might say I was the stranger
Who knew too much
Somebody took a hope lock from my heart
And threw it down your back roads
Tennessee
Oh, you feel the north wind blow
That's only me
I want to hear some rock and roll
On your back roads
Tennessee
I'm not the bad city girl
Come down to rape you
I'm not the hometown queen
Who wants to save you
I heard you callin' to my soul
From your back roads
She said she was going home
I said I'll be fine by myself
I thought that she wanted me
But she was thinking something else
Now the sun was coming up
Still I couldn't see exactly how she felt
I thought that she wanted me
But she was thinking something else
It don't take much to see inside my heart
I was never any good at telling lies
And it don't take too much to see there ain't too much of me
Here behind these eyes
I miss you when you're gone
Please don't stay gone too long
You Have Heard And Read About The State Of Tennessee
down In The Southern States Is Where I Want To Be
where The Valleys Are So Green And The Mountains Are So
Tall
you Will Know Just What I Mean When You Hear Them Say
"y'all"
tennessee (Tennessee)
i Hear You Calling Me (I Hear You Calling Me)
the Home Of Davey Crockett In The Hills Of Tennessee.
when I Was A Little Boy Around The Folks Back Home
my Mother Always Said To Me Jimmy, Please Don't Roam
now That I Have Gone Away My Heart Is Full Of Woe
when I Think Of Mom And Dad That's Where I Want To Go
if Ever I Get Back To That State Of Tennessee
i Tell You There'll Be No More Roaming For Me
there Lives A Sweetheart Who Said She'd Marry Me
I never had all the answers
I never had enough time
But I sure had all the reasons
Why you weren't what I wanted to find
I never laid all my cards out
You just wanted to play
The king he waited on my doorsteps
While the joker and me went on our way
[Chorus]
Maybe I was much too selfish
But baby you're still on my mind
Now I'm grown and all alone
And wishing I was with you tonight
'Cause I can guarantee
Things are sweeter in Tennessee
These days everything is all business
Never in one place for too long
But there's no lack of arms around me
But I still wonder if somewhere I went wrong
[Chorus]
In Tennessee
And I'd wish on every star in the
Southern sky
For that man and our life
If I did not think that
[Chorus]
Yes, I guarantee
Things are sweeter in Tenneesee
I never had all the answers
I never had enough time
But I sure had all the reasons
Why you weren't what I wanted to find
I never laid all my cards out
You just wanted to play
The king he waited on my doorstep
While the joker and me went on our way
Maybe I was much too selfish
But baby you're still on my mind
Now I'm grown and all alone
And wishing I was with you tonight
'Cause I can guarantee

These days everything is all business
Never in a place for too long
And there's no lack of arms around me
But I still wonder if somewhere I went wrong
And I'd wish on every star in the
Southern sky
For that man and our life
If I did not think that
Yes, I guarantee
Howdy
I’m gonna tell you a story
Most of it is true
It goes back to my early memory
And maybe it will show you
Why I do the things I do
I was born in New York City
But my mom’s from Tennessee
Tennessee…
A little town called Newport
Where the folks don’t grow too tall
And they don’t grow too short
It’s a place of moderation, common sense, and decency
Well it’s nothing like the way I am
But it’s how I’m gonna be
Oh, but on a serious note
I believe I left my cell phone in my coat
They are riding in a taxi down to 7th Street and D
And that’s a long way from Newport, Tennessee
Howdy again
To continue my story
On my educational road to glory
I was kicked out of a school, or two, or maybe it was
three
I got mostly incompletes, but in math I bought a C
I bought a C…
And then I rambled around
Drove my car from Slumberville to Lonesome Town
Joined a band, but it didn’t go
So I booked some time on Nashville’s Music Row
Hush now
Everybody get low down
I don’t want no electric guitars in the background
I’m trying to concentrate on how you find serenity
When you’re born in New York City,
But your mom’s from Tennessee
And I got issues
Hell, I got pain
There’s a lot I can’t remember
Even more I can’t explain
No it don’t make much sense to me
Still I’m proud my mama comes from Tennessee
Wild city living
In takes my breathe away
But I'm not living
The way I ought to be
Check it out, there's surely
Something missing
Got to move, on, before I kiss the ground
I hear you calling
I see your beauty in my mind
A piece of heaven
A place where living in crazy
Check it out, I still recall the feeling
Got to find me a way
Somehow, got to make it back ... to Tennessee
Chasing the rainbow - shooting for the moon
Aiming much too high - getting so confused
I'm all out of luck
I'm all out of love
Guess I... I just had enough
Now my western tears
Remin me of my home
And my western heart reminds me I'm alone
But my heart is sure that love will guide the way
Tennesee oh what I'd give to be back there once again with all the old friends
Who were so kind to me oh Tennessee I was happy as could be
Never got too much done but livin' sure was fun in Tennessee
This big city just depresses me though everybody's as kind as can be
A homesick feeling possesses me I won't be the same till I'm back there again
Tennessee guess the country boy in me
Won't ever be at ease till I feel that southern breeze in Tennessee
I barely remember the first time I met you
You didn't remember my name
The alcohol might have clouded your vision
To me its been doing the same
But I haven't forgotten the first time I saw you
At most on your way out of town
Everyone warned me don't get worked up over nothing
But nothing is all I've got now
You close your eyes and you don't hear me speaking
That's probably how it should be
Now I realize you were close to perfection
But I went and chose Tennessee
I tried in vain but I can't rediscover
The mirror that shows who I am
Reflecting on you in a warm night in summer
And all the things I couldn't have planned
You close your eyes and you don't hear me speaking
That's probably how it should be
Now I realize you were close to perfection
But I went and chose Tennessee
Lord I've really been real stressed
Down and out, losin ground
Although I am black and proud
Problems got me pessimistic
Brothers and sisters keep messin up
Why does it have to be so dman tuff?
I don't know where I can go
To let these ghosts out of my skull
My grandmas past, my brothers gone
I never at once felt so alone
I know you're supposed to be my steering wheel
Not just my spare tire (home)
But lord I ask you (home)
To be my guiding force and truth (home)
For some strange reason it had to be (home)
He guided me to Tennessee (home)
Take me to another place
Take me to another land
Make me forget all that hurts me
Let me understand your plan
Lord it's obvious we got a relationship
Talkin to each other every night and day
Although you're superior over me
We talk to each other in a friendship way
Then outta nowhere you tell me to break
Outta the country and into more country
Past Dyesburg into Ripley
Where the ghost of childhood haunts me
Wlak the roads my forefathers walked
Climbed the trees my forefathers hung from
Ask those trees for all their wisdom
They tell me my ears are so young (home)
Go back to from whence you came (home)
My family tree my family name (home)
For some strange reason it ahd to be (home)
He guided me to Tennessee (home)
Take me to another place
Take me to another land
Make me forget all that hurts me
Let me understand your plan
Now I see the importance of history
Why people be in the mess that they be
Many journeys to freedom made in vain
By brothers on the corner playin ghetto games
I ask you lord why you enlightened me
Without the enlightment of all my folks
He said cuz I set myself on a quest for truth
And he was there to quench my thirst
But I am still thirsty
The lord allowed me to drink some more
He said what I am searchin for are
The answers to all which are in front of me
The ultimate truth started to get blurry
For some strange reason it had to be
It was all a dream about Tennessee
Take me to another place
Take me to another land
Make me forget all that hurts me
Tennessee
You've been good to me
Yes, I've come to believe
You're where I want to be
You may not be what everybody needs
But Tennessee you're good enough for me
I can see
Stars shining in your night
Your daytime scenes like Cash and Patsy Cline
They may not be what everybody needs
But they touched my soul
And that's good enough for me
It's been ten years now and I'm rooted in your soil
I am rooted in your soil
Give me ten more years
I'll be rooted in your soil
Right here in your soil
You may not be what I will always need
But I call you home
If I can call you home
1. You have heard and read about the state of Tennessee.
Down in the southern states is where I want to be.
Where the valleys are so green and mountains are so tall.
You will know just what I mean when you hear them say "you all".
cho: Tennessee (Tennessee) I hear you calling me (I hear you calling me).
The home of Davy Crockett in the hills of Tennessee.
2. When I was a little boy around the folks back home.
My mother always said to me: Jimmy, please don't roam.
Now that I have gone away my heart is full of woe.
When I think of Mom and Dad, that's where I want to go.
cho....
3. If ever I get back to that state of Tennessee.
I tell you there'll be no more roaming for me.
There lives a sweetheart who said she'd marry me.
As soon as I get back to that state of Tennessee.
I kissed you cause i’ve never been and angel
I learned to say hosannas on my knees
But they threw me out of Sunday school when i was nine
And the sisters said i did just as i pleased
Now even so i tried to be a good girl
its only what i want that makes me weep
i had no desire to be a child of sin
but then you went and pressed your whiskers to my cheek
Fie le lie lie
fie le lie lee
Now let me go my honey-o back to Tennessee
It’s beefsteak when i’m workin
Whiskey when i’m dry
Sweet heaven when i die
Now i tried drinking rye and gambling
Dancing with damnation is a ball
But of all the little ways i found to hurt myself
Well you might be my favorite one of all
Why can’t i go and live the life awryly
Why can’t i go back home to apple pie
There’s no affront a-to my virtue
Was a touch too much
But you left a little twinkle in my eye
Now some’ll come confessing of transgressions
Some they come confessing of their love
You were there strumming on your gay guitar
Sweeter than the birds that go in the trees
That's what she meant to me
Sweeter than the wine and she looked so fine
When she met me in Tennessee
I felt so grand when she took my hand
And said, 'Come, go with me'
Held me tight on a moonlit night
Someplace in Tennessee
Sweeter than the birds that go in the trees
That's what she meant to me
Sweeter than the wine and she looked so fine
When I met her in Tennessee
I felt so grand when she took my hand
And said, 'Come, go with me'
Held me tight on a moonlit night
I left the West coast watched the palm trees wave goodbye
It was a hard drive had to say goodbye to you
I stopped for some Coca-Cola and some corn nuts too
I thought about turnin' back I already missed you
If you need me burn it up bend the rules leave right away
If you need me take a four lane headed my way
Take a bus, take a plane , take a car, take a train
Take a bike, hitch a ride you decide
If you need me you know where I'll be in Tennessee
Goin' through my boxes found a photograph
Where you're sittin' on a mule in Mexico
Picture perfect point of view
An then a postcard dropped from a book you gave me on my birthday
An it hit me, baby
If you need me burn it up bend the rules leave right away
If you need me take a four lane headed my way
Take a bus, take a plane, take a car, take a train
Take a bike, hitch a ride you decide
If you need me leave L.A. we'll take it day by day
All alone, here I am by the phone
Understand it's not too late what are you waiting' for?
If you need me you know where I'll be, yeah in Tennessee
Well, it's a Sunday mornin' I awake it's just another lonely day
I lie in bed and wonder how long is this gonna take
Then I think to myself will I ever get a break?
Did I make a big mistake?
Well, I light the fire, I draw the bubble bath
Hey, you do the math
It's just me an I'm without you
What else could I do
If you need me burn it up bend the rules leave right away
If you need me take a four lane headed my way
Take a bus, take plane, take a car, take a train
Take a bike, hitch a ride you decide
