Namo Tassa Bhagavato Arahato Samma Sambuddhassa (repeat three times)
- Homage to the Blessed One, the Worthy One, the Perfectly Self-awakened One
*** Recollection of the Buddha (9 Attributes of the Buddha)
Itipiso bhagava - He is the Blessed One,
1.araham - a Worthy One, a person whose mind is free from all defilements,
2.samma-sambuddho - the Perfectly Self-awakened One,
3.Vijja-carana-sampanno - impeccable in knowledge and conduct, accomplished in the conduct leading to awareness or cognitive skill,
4.Sugato - well-being, going (or gone) to a good destination, the Accomplished One,
5.Lokavidu - the Knower of the Worlds,
6.Anuttaro purisa-damma-sarathi – the Supreme Trainer of those wishing to be trained,
7.sattha deva-manussanam - the Teacher of divine and human beings,
8.Buddho - the Awakened One, Enlightened and Holy,
9.Bhagavati – the Blessed One.

1.Svakkhato bhagavata dhammo - Dhamma is well expounded by the Blessed One,
2.Sanditthiko - self-evident, immediately apparent, immanent here and now,
3.akaliko – timeless, unconditioned by time or season,
4.Ehipassiko - inviting everybody to come and see to experience results of the Teachings,
5.Opanayiko - leading inwards, peace within mind, to Nippana
6.paccattam veditabbo vinnuhiti - can be attained individually by the wise.

1.Supatipanno bhagavato savaka-sangho,
- The Sangha, the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced well,
2.Uju-patipanno bhagavato savaka-sangho,
- The Sangha, the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced straight,
3.Naya-patipanno bhagavato savaka-sangho,
- The Sangha, the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced insightfully,
4.Samici-patipanno bhagavato savaka-sangho,
- The Sangha, the Blessed One's disciples who have practiced with integrity,
Yadidam - That is
cattari purisa-yugani attha purisa-puggala :
- The four pairs, the eight kinds of noble beings;
1.sotapanna (stream-enterer) - (1) the path to stream-entry; (2) the fruition of stream-entry
2.sakadakami (once-returner) - (3) the path to once-returning ; (4) the fruition of once-returning
3.anagami (non-returner) - (5) the path to non-returning ; (6) the fruition of non-returning
4.arahant (worthy one) - (7) the path to arahantship ; (8) the fruition of arahantship
Esa bhagavato savaka-sangho — these are the Blessed One's disciples, the Sangha,
5.Ahuneyyo - worthy of gifts,
6.Pahuneyyo - worthy of hospitality,
7.Dakkhineyyo - worthy of offerings,
8.Anjali-karaniyo - worthy of respect,
9.Anuttaram punnakkhettam lokassati. - the supreme field of merit for the world.
