Mjölk was started in 2009 by husband and wife team John and Juli Baker. Mjölk is a shop and gallery located in the Junction neighborhood of Toronto, and represents work with an emphasis on functionality, craftsmanship, and timelessness. Their gallery has been profiled by such international publications as Dwell, Monocle, and Metropolis.

Mjölk has worked on several product collaborations, all of which explore the theme of daily ritual. Each work is designed by a prominent international designer and produced by local artisans in Toronto Canada.

This collection includes a milk and sugar set called CEREMONY designed by Swedish architect firm Claesson Koivisto Rune, which was awarded best new product during the Interior Design Show 2013. Exhibited also at the Canadian Embassy in Stockholm Sweden during the Stockholm Design Week festival.

A coffee service called Sucabaruca designed by Luca Nichetto, which was awarded the 2015 Wallpaper Design award. Exhibited Toronto, Milan and ICFF in New York.

A Tea service called Aureola also designed by Luca Nichetto, exhibited at the Italian Cultural Center in Toronto Canada and ICFF in New York. Praised as one of the best designs of 2014 by Azure Magazine.

A series of indoor gardening tools, including a watering can made of brass with a carved wooden handle, terracotta herb pots and cactus pots and a glass water saver designed by Anderssen & Voll. Currently on exhibition at Mjolk during Toronto Design Week.

As well as periodical exhibitions of artists and designers from the likes of Oji Masanori, Ryuji Mitani, Masanobu Ando and George Nakashima at Mjölk. John and Juli Baker publish a series of books about travel, design, and craft, which is sold at select book stores around the world.
