Police Lt. Scott Wahl identified the suspect in the shooting as Mike Montana, 54. Police released a photo of Montana, and said he was last seen driving a white minivan with "Superior Painting" in multicolored letters on the outside. The shooting was reported to police shortly after 3 p.m., with the caller saying someone had been shot and the shooter drove away north on Angelique Street. The caller said several shots had been fired, police Officer Humberto Hernandez said. Wahl said when officers arrived, neighbors were rendering aid. A neighbor told CBS News 8 that Kraska was found face-down on the street, and that about eight shots were initially heard, followed by a second round of gunfire. The station reported that Kraska was shot in the leg and the stomach, and was conscious and talking when paramedics arrived. He was undergoing surgery at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Although the station reported that Kraska's condition was not life-threatening, that information was not confirmed by police. It also was not disclosed by police how many times Kraska was shot. Montana was described by police as white, about 6 feet 3 inches tall and 190 pounds. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call police.
