Meet Boardwalk, a flexible, versatile, and responsive theme designed to show off your content in an unconventional — yet elegant and creative — way.
Menus
Boardwalk allows you to have two Custom Menus: one in the theme’s slide-out sidebar (Primary Menu) and one in the footer (Social Menu). To set up your menus, go to Appearance → Menus.
Primary Menu
If you’d like to add descriptions underneath your menu items, visit the Menus page in your dashboard and open the Screen Options tab. Under “Show advanced menu properties,” select “Description” to start editing menu descriptions.
Now, when editing or adding any menu item, you’ll see a field allowing you to add a description.
Social Menu
Boardwalk also allows you to display links to your social media profiles with crisp, perfectly-sized icons. Learn how to set them up with our social links documentation. Linking to any of the following sites will automatically display its icon in your menu:
- CodePen
- Digg
- Dribbble
- Dropbox

Only use featured images on blog index: If your post doesn’t have a featured image but does include images, Boardwalk will display the first image attached to the post. If you prefer only featured images to be displayed, check the box.
Custom colors
Boardwalk is designed to work seamlessly with Custom Colors and the Custom Design upgrade. Are the current colors not your style? Try one of the included color palettes to inspire you, or choose your own.
