Andrew Lang (March 31, 1844 – July 20 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. James has been to over 400 megalithic tombs dotted across Europe, in addition to stone circles and henges in search of commonalities and design. James utilizes his engineering background as a systems analyst as a utility to reduce the complexity of ancient megalithic sites. He returns to discuss the Irish and Scottish origins of Halloween. He’ll talk about the Irish/Scottish ‘Samhain’ festival originating in the British Isles about 1300 years ago. He’ll tell about Celtic pagan rituals that relate to the megalithic calendar and solar wheel. James says pagans inherited their solar worship from the megalith builders. He also talks about how the church aimed to Christianize the Celtic pagans and how the shift from Hallows day became Hallows Eve or Halloween. In the second hour, we’ll hear about the mythology of spirits and inter-dimension beings at Halloween. He’ll talk about the Aos Si, banshees, witches, fairies and supernatural women of Ireland. We also hear about the Tuatha De Danann, a race of supernaturally-gifted people in Irish mythology. Later, we discuss other deities and festivals of pre-Christian Gaelic Ireland and variant branches of paganism. http://www.jamesswagger.com/

Tour Scotland December video of Methven Castle on ancestry visit West of Perth, Perthshire. The lands of Methven were owned by the Mowbray family from the 12th century. The Mowbrays supported the claim of John Balliol against Robert the Bruce, and on the latter's victory, Methven was confiscated by the crown, and given to Walter Stewart, the Bruce's son-in-law. His descendant, Walter Stewart, Earl of Atholl, was deprived of the lands following his involvement in a plot to kill King James I. The castle sustained a siege in 1444, and was visited by King James II in 1450. King James IV visited several times in the 1490s. The castle was the home of Margaret Tudor, born 1489, died 154), queen of James IV, King of Scots, and daughter of Henry VII of England, after her third marriage to Henry Stewart, 1st Lord Methven in 1528. Margaret Tudor died here on 18 October 1541. After the third Lord Methven died without heir in 1584, King James VI gave Methven to his favourite, the Duke of Lennox. In 1664 the estate was purchased by Patrick Smythe of Braco. The present building is dated 1664, and was designed and built by the mason architect John Mylne

Scotland, is a country I've wanted to visit for years, and I finally was able to turn that into reality last year when I visited for the first time to take in the New Year's celebrations of Hogmanay in Edinburgh. As one of the most negotiable cities on foot that I've ever visited, Audrey and pounded the pavement marveling at the architecture, impressive castles and winter carnival events in the downtown area. When we need to warm up we popped into pubs to gormandize on Haggis, Neeps and Tatties while washing it down with a Hot Toddy. When we were in the mood for something a bit sweeter we decided to try a deep-fried Mars bar – a Scottish specialty. Although disgustingly unhealthy (essentially this a chocolate bar covered in batter and deep-fried) it tasted delicious and it ten times better than having a chocolate bar on its own. When we weren't trying Scottish Cuisine or wandering aimlessly down narrow streets, we decided to take a few day trips to check out other events and attractions. Our favorite being Loony Dook where a group of mad men, women and children wearing Halloween type costumes ran full steam ahead into the freezing cold Firth of Forth. The true highlight of our time in Scotland was having the opportunity to explore the Scottish Highlands (including the Isle of Skye) with Haggis Adventure Tours. This road trip allowed highlighted some of the most scenic areas of the entire country where we couldn't put down our cameras. When we weren't traveling we spent our time sampling as much Scottish food as we possibly could including a taste test of Irn Bru, Ginger Beer, Tablet, Haggis flavored chips, Scottish chocolate and Scottish Whiskey and more. The following is a top attractions travel guide offering a snapshot of the best things to do in Scotland during your next vacation to one of my favorite countries in all of Europe. Whoever travels to Scotland, meets a beautiful and rich country, rich in beauty and history. The majestic castles greet the visitor in every corner of the country. Witnesses of time ago which remind one rather of plays and dramas, such as Shakespeare or Macbeth which are the most famous example of it. Some parts of Scotland rank among the most thinly settled areas of Europe and offer the possibility of experiencing nearly undisturbed landscapes. Whether lonely lighthouses or postcard picture church ruins, Scotland should be traveled in peace and with time, in order to absorb the un-comparable impressions, of nature and architect, it has to offer.

World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Glasgow -Scotland Travel Guide, Tourism http://bit.ly/1ax8K87 Glasgow - Scotland Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation, Attractions Glasgow has seen more changes in the past three decades than almost any other British city. From a declining industrial centre with widespread pessimism about its future, Scotland's biggest city has been transformed into a vibrant, dynamic city hailed as one of the hippest spots in Europe. A large student population has given the city a youthful, progressive character and, with thumping nightlife, one of the strongest live music scenes in the UK, plus first-rate shopping. Glasgow continues to assert itself as one of Britain's most appealing destinations. With several outstanding art galleries, including the high-profile Burrell Collection, and several excellent museums as a starting point, Glasgow was chosen as a European City of Culture in 1990. You can see Glasgow's tradition of great design in the classical architecture of Alexander 'Greek' Thomson and the organic, art nouveau style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Today, Glasgow's School of Art continues to produce world-class talent. Glasgow has a proud history - the long list of inventors, engineers, writers and architects of the 19th and 20th centuries were part of the driving force of industrialisation, tamed by socially progressive values in the 'second city' of the British Empire. Around 1900, Glasgow was one of the wealthiest cities in the world, which led to a number of lavish Victorian public buildings springing up to symbolise its riches. The city also became an important shipbuilding centre -- it was here that Cunard's QE2 was built - and was well known for its Clydeside engineering works. Despite the subsequent decline of these industries in the 20th century, the devastation wrought by WWll and the profound impact of post-war urban malaise on social housing, jobs, crime and inner city deprivation, Glasgow has bounced back with a definite spring in its step. Since the 1980s, the last 30 years has been seen the city transform, thanks to investment from the city council and the Scottish Development Agency; the riverside area has regenerated and its arts, music and culture scenes are flourishing. Glasgow was declared a UNESCO City of Music in 2008 in recognition of its musically diverse output ranging from classical and contemporary to country and Celtic, while The Turner Prize will be presented here in 2015, the first time the accolade will be handed out in Scotland. Meanwhile, the Merchant City -- one of the city's oldest districts formerly home to monks and merchants -- has been revitalised with boutique hotels, bars, restaurants, shops and galleries now occupying previously derelict market buildings and old warehouses. In addition, Glasgow is preparing to limber up for the international spotlight when it will play host to 4,500 athletes as part of the 20th Commonwealth Games in 2014. Most events will take place in venues spread across the west, south and eastern parts of the city, while over £2 billion has been pumped into improving transport. Thanks to its geographic location, visitors to Glasgow can nip to some of the most stunning landscapes in the country, with Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park less than an hour's drive away and a mecca for adventure and outdoors-lovers. ============================= Glasgow Travel Guide, Glasgow Tourism, Glasgow Vacation, Glasgow Attractions, Scotland Travel Guide, Scotland Tourism, Scotland Vacation, Scotland Attractions, Glasgow, Scotland , Europe, Glasgow Shopping, Glasgow Hotels, Glasgow Introduction, Glasgow Museums, Glasgow Restaurants, Glasgow Transport, Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation, Attractions, United Kingdom === Glasgow - Scotland Travel Guide, Tourism, Vacation, Attractions

Edinburgh - Scotland Travel guide, Vacation, Tourism World Travel https://www.youtube.com/user/World1Tube Edinburgh - Scotland Travel Guide http://goo.gl/AeX8IX ادنبرغ has inspired poets, artists and philosophers for hundreds of years, yet it is very much a city of the 21st century too. Edinburgh has everything: high culture and haute couture, stand-up comedy and country walks, and of course Edinburgh Castle, perched on its volcanic crag overlooking the medieval buildings of the Old Town and the magnificent Georgian architecture of the New Town. Together, they make up the UNESCO-listed World Heritage site. Better still, Edinburgh's compact size means the city's main sites are easily explored on foot. Nevertheless, plans for a new tram link from the airport to the city from May 2014 will be welcomed by visitors. Beyond the New Town, the Water of Leith flows through the picturesque Dean Village and on via pretty Stockbridge, where young professionals sustain a tempting assortment of delis, quirky shops and cosy pubs. At the heart of nearby leafy Inverleith's century-old mansions is the renowned Royal Botanic Garden, an Edinburgh institution. Further east, Historic Leith, home to the Royal Yacht Britannia, has been transformed from seedy port into highly desirable residence, with flashy apartments and acclaimed restaurants. Edinburgh's cosmopolitan air and vibrancy has credited Scotland's capital city with the kind of panache and attitude that you'd expect only of London. This vibe is enshrined in Edinburgh's annual international festivals calendar. Every August, the city fills with visitors anxious to catch the rising stars of the comedy circuit; hear their favourite authors read from their books; or immerse themselves in the classical music and challenging theatre of the Edinburgh International Festival. Don't be fooled into thinking Edinburgh falls into a slumber for the rest of the year however. In early spring, legions of rugby fans descend on the city as Scotland vies to win the Six Nations trophy; you can hear the roar from Murrayfield from miles around. Over Easter, the Edinburgh International Science Festival is jam-packed with inspirational discussions and hands-on fun, while The Royal Highland Show in June showcases Scotland's finest produce. Edinburgh lights up in winter with an illuminated big wheel, bustling German Christmas market and open-air ice rink in Princes Street Gardens. Finally at Hogmanay, revellers cram into the centre to bring in the New Year with big-name bands, a rocking ceildih, gigantic street party and spectacular fireworks. Beyond its myriad festivals, Edinburgh encompasses an enormous array of experiences: discovering dinosaurs in the renovated National Museum of Scotland or following in the footsteps of Mary Queen of Scots at the Palace of Holyroodhouse; joining a spooky tour through the narrow Old Town closes or climbing craggy Arthur's Seat; sinking a pint in a 17th-century pub or sipping mojitos in a chic George Street bar; and shopping for tartan or splashing out on designer gear at Harvey Nichols. Edinburgh has given birth to a multitude of great fictional works from such luminaries as Robert Louis Stevenson and Sir Walter Scott to current bestselling novelists Ian Rankin and Alexander McCall Smith. Such a rich literary culture led to Edinburgh becoming the world's first ever UNESCO City of Literature in 2004. Endowed with such credentials, Scotland's capital is worth visiting time and time again. ======================================== Edinburgh Museums, Edinburgh Transport, Edinburgh Tours, Edinburgh Introduction, Edinburgh Attractions, Edinburgh Hotels, Edinburgh Restaurants, Edinburgh Shopping, Edinburgh Nightlife, world travel video, Edinburgh video, Edinburgh, Edinburgh Travel guide, Edinburgh Tourism, Edinburgh vacation, Europe, Scotland, Scotland Tourism, Scotland Travel guide , Scotland Vacation, United Kingdom == Edinburgh - Scotland - United Kingdom Travel guide, vacation, Tourism, Attractions

The King James Bible is not a so-called white man’s book that proclamation is adhered in ignorance, and is therefore a feeble argument Inside The Drake Jewel is a miniature of Queen Elizabeth I. Subscribe to FIGHTLAND: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Fightland Once regarded as something that happens exclusively in Guy Ritchie films and on gypsy sites, bare knuckle boxing is fast becoming a thriving scene in the UK -- the ultimate British bloodsport. When Clive Martin embeds with the bare knuckle boxing elite, what he discovers is not dissimilar to Fight Club; IT technicians, builders, lifestyle coaches and even a solicitor, all throwing their unprotected fists into each other's faces. It's a subculture of honour, pride and violence. As the UK prepares to play host to the first US vs UK bare knuckle title fight in 150 years -- the biggest event the scene has known since it went underground in the 19th Century -- Clive tries to find out if violence is a cause or effect for these angry young men. Craig Ferguson (born 17 May 1962) is a Scottish-born American television host, stand-up comedian, writer, actor, director, author, producer and voice artist. He is the host of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, an Emmy Award-nominated, Peabody Award-winning late-night talk show that airs on CBS. Additionally, Ferguson hosts the syndicated Celebrity Name Game. After starting his career in Britain with music, comedy and theatre, Ferguson moved to the United States where he found success in the role of Nigel Wick on The Drew Carey Show. He has written and starred in three films, directing one of them. Ferguson has also written two books: Between the Bridge and the River, a novel, and American on Purpose, a memoir.Early life and education[edit] Ferguson was born in Stobhill Hospital, in the Springburn district of Glasgow, Scotland, to Robert and Janet Ferguson, on 17 May 1962,[2][3] and raised in nearby Cumbernauld, growing up "chubby and bullied". He was raised Scottish Presbyterian.[4][5] When he was six months old, he and his family moved from their Springburn apartment to a council house in Cumbernauld. They lived there as Glasgow was re-housing many people following damage to the city from World War II.[5] Ferguson attended Muirfield Primary School and Cumbernauld High School.[6] At age sixteen, Ferguson dropped out of Cumbernauld High School and began an apprenticeship to be an electronics technician at a local factory of American company Burroughs Corporation.[7] His first visit to the United States was as a teenager to visit an uncle who lived on Long Island, near New York City.[8] When he moved to New York City in 1983, he worked in construction in Harlem.[9][10] Ferguson later became a bouncer at the nightclub Save the Robots. The Late Late Show[edit] Main article: The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson In December 2004, it was announced that Ferguson would be the successor to Craig Kilborn on CBS's The Late Late Show. His first show as the regular host aired on 3 January 2005. By May 2008, Ben Alba, an American television historian and an authority on U.S. talk shows, said Ferguson "has already made his mark, taking the TV monologue to new levels with an underlying story. But he is only just starting ... He is making up his own rules: It's the immigrant experience."[20] The show is unique in that it has no "human" sidekicks such as Ed McMahon on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson or Conan O'Brien's Andy Richter.[26][27] He has a remotely operated skeleton named Geoff Peterson and two silent performers in a horse costume. His monologues are conducted within a few feet of the camera versus the long distance that Johnny Carson kept from the camera and audience.[28] These props are the modern offspring of the legendary comedian Soupy Sales with his children's show being uncannily similar although not nearly as consistent as Ferguson's polished and intuitive delivery.[29] The Late Late Show averaged 2.0 million viewers in its 2007 season, compared with 2.5 million for Late Night with Conan O'Brien.[30] In April 2008, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson beat Late Night with Conan O'Brien for weekly ratings (1.88 million to 1.77 million) for the first time since the two shows went head-to-head with their respective hosts.[31] By the end of 2009, Craig Ferguson topped Jimmy Fallon in the ratings with Ferguson getting a 1.8 rating/6 share and Fallon receiving a 1.6 rating/6 share.[32] By 2014, Ferguson's ratings had faltered, trailing those of Late Night with Seth Meyers with an average of 1.35 million viewers versus 2.02 million.[33] On 28 April 2014, Ferguson announced he will leave The Late Late Show at the end of 2014.[34] His contract was set to expire in June 2014, but a six-month extension was agreed on in order to provide a more graceful exit and give CBS more time to find a replacement host.[35][36] He will reportedly receive US$5 million as part of his contract because he was not selected as the replacement for Letterman's Late Show.[37] Ferguson made the decision prior to Letterman's announcement but agreed to delay making his own decision public until the reaction to Letterman's decision had died down.[36] CBS Entertainment Chair Nina Tassler said, following the announcement, that in his decade as host Ferguson had "infused the broadcast with tremendous energy, unique comedy, insightful interviews and some of the most heartfelt monologues seen on television."[38] CBS intends to continue the franchise with James Corden as the new host
In this historic document the Scottish people mention crossing the Red Sea with Moses. So were the Scottish people descended from the Israelites? This is the time period that is featured in the movie Braveheart with Mel Gibson portraying William Wallace. The Scots were fighting for their freedom from the English Jer 31:10 - Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the ISLES afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. Rom 11:2 - God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel Zec 11:14 - Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. (Judah and Israel are not the same) Mat 15:24 - But he (Jesus) answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Jer 31:31 - Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jam 1:1 - James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. Israel is lost only to modern demon-nominational preachers
This documentary travels to France to explore the possibility that Jesus married Mary Magdalene, and they had children. He meets respected scholars, authors and historians to consider the theory the son of God's bloodline lives on today. That Jesus was married and that Jesus had heirs, because it was written as such in very many family archives, not necessarily just private but in the open domain. The published papers of Mary, Queen of Scots talk about it at length. The papers of James II of England, who was wasn't deposed until 1688, talk of it at length.

Belfast Telegraph 2015-04-08Scotland (Scottish Gaelic: Alba ([ˈalˠ̪apə] listen (help·info))) is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. Occupying the northern third of the island of Great Britain, it shares a border with England to the south and is bounded by the North Sea to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, and the North Channel and Irish Sea to the southwest. In addition to the mainland, Scotland constitutes over 790 islands including the Northern Isles and the Hebrides.
Edinburgh, the country's capital and second largest city, is one of Europe's largest financial centres. Edinburgh was the hub of the Scottish Enlightenment of the 18th century, which transformed Scotland into one of the commercial, intellectual and industrial powerhouses of Europe. Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, was once one of the world's leading industrial cities and now lies at the centre of the Greater Glasgow conurbation. Scottish waters consist of a large sector of the North Atlantic and the North Sea, containing the largest oil reserves in the European Union. This has given Aberdeen, the third largest city in Scotland, the title of Europe's oil capital.
James II & VII (14 October 1633O.S. – 16 September 1701) was King of England and King of Ireland as James II and King of Scotland as James VII, from 6 February 1685. He was the last Roman Catholic monarch to reign over the Kingdoms of England, Scotland, and Ireland. Members of Britain's political and religious elite increasingly opposed him for being pro-French and pro-Catholic, and for his designs on becoming an absolute monarch. When he produced a Catholic heir, the tension exploded, and leading nobles called on William III of Orange (his son-in-law and nephew) to land an invasion army from the Netherlands, which he did. James fled England (and thus was held to have abdicated) in the Glorious Revolution of 1688. He was replaced by William of Orange who became king as William III, ruling jointly with his wife (James's daughter) Mary II. Thus William and Mary, both Protestants, became joint rulers in 1689. James made one serious attempt to recover his crowns, when he landed in Ireland in 1689 but, after the defeat of the Jacobite forces by the Williamite forces at the Battle of the Boyne in the summer of 1690, James returned to France. He lived out the rest of his life as a pretender at a court sponsored by his cousin and ally, King Louis XIV.
