Badgers are short-legged omnivores in the weasel family, Mustelidae. The nine species of badger, in three subfamilies include the Melinae (badgers of Europe and Asia), Mellivorinae (the ratel or honey badger), and Taxideinae (the American badger). The Asiatic stink badgers of the genus Mydaus were formerly included in the Melinae and Mustelidae, but recent genetic evidence indicates these are actually members of the skunk family, placing them in the taxonomic family Mephitidae.
Badgers include the species in the genera Meles, Arctonyx, Taxidea and Mellivora. Their lower jaws are articulated to the upper by means of transverse condyles firmly locked into long cavities of the cranium, so dislocation of the jaw is all but impossible. This enables the badgers to maintain their hold with the utmost tenacity, but limits jaw movement to hinging open and shut, or sliding from side to side without the twisting movement possible for the jaws of most mammals.
Badgers have rather short, fat bodies, with short legs built for digging. Their ears are small, and they have elongated weasel-like heads, their tails vary in length depending on species, the stink badger has a very short tail, while the ferret badger's tail can be 18 to 20 inches (46 to 51 cm) long, depending on age. They have black faces with distinctive white markings, their bodies are gray with a light-colored stripe from their head to their tail, they have dark legs with light colored stomachs. They grow to around 35 inches (89 cm) in length including tail. The European badger is one of the largest; the American badger, the hog badger and the honey badger are similar in size and weight, though generally a little smaller and lighter. The stink badgers are smaller still, and the ferret badgers are the smallest of all. They weigh around 20–24 pounds (9.1–11 kg) on average, with some Eurasian badgers weighing in at around 40 pounds (18 kg).

Frankie! He's a sensation...slugging and singing his way through a great dramatic story!
I took you down to the station
And I bought your ticket
Lord, I hate to see you go
And as you walk away
Please don't turn around, 'cause
I know you'd hate to see me cry
But I put you on that bus
And as it pulls away
You know I'd really rather be...
Oh, anywhere but here
Nowhere else but here
Anywhere but here
I wish I could take you there, now
Sit around the hotel room
We're playing cards for nickels
It should always be this way
But I'm just a man
And you're a bit too crazy
And being together's always hard
So I put you on that bus
But as it pulls away
You know I'd really rather be...
Oh, anywhere but here
Nowhere else but here
Anywhere but here
I wish I could take you there, now
'Cause I sure as hell don't wanna be here
Oh, now that you're gone
Oh, now that you're gone
Oh, now that you're gone
So now you're gone
And it's my fault
And now that you're gone
I just had this thought
That I can hardly wait to see you
I can hardly wait to be...
Oh, anywhere but here
But I'm just a man
And you're a bit too crazy
And being together is always hard
Lord knows I'd rather be...
Oh, anywhere but here
Nowhere else but here
Anywhere but here
I wish I could take you there, now
'Cause I sure as hell don't wanna be here
Oh, now that you're gone
Oh, now that you're gone
Oh, now that you're gone
I can hardly wait to see you
Badger
He wakes up and reaches for
The whiskey by his side
His heart is filled with shame
But he can't turn the tide, oh no
Still he spreads the word of God
It's all he's got to keep from goin' insane
No one hears him in pray
But should listen well
To the story that he tells
As he's standing in the rain
Listen to the Preacher
Listen to what he say, alright
Listen to the Preacher
You've gotta stay a while
You got the time to pray
They know that he's a drunkard
But he's seen the light of day
He's just another man
With dues still left to pay
It's a bottle every day
It's a bottle every day
Yes, it's a bottle every day
Been around a long, long time
And started drinking young
He says it doesn't matter now
His life is almost done
He has spent his life in vain
Always trying to ease the pain
In the heart of his fellow man
Oh and now it's come this
Is it me, in a mess?
But no one understands
Listen to the Preacher
Listen to what he say, alright
Listen to the Preacher
Why don't you stay a while
You got time to pray
They know that he's a drunkard
But he's seen the light of day
He's just another man
With dues still left to pay
It's a bottle every day
It's a bottle every day
Yes, it's a bottle every day
I read your call sign; Butterfly.
Thoughts of wings open wide, cast in sunlight.
In my hand your bones are brittle and you burst in to
flame.
Untie me and let me leave.
So what if I should forget to breathe?
Will white light rescue me and secure my salvation?
I can all but hope.
That time will tell that this was real enough for me.
Blessed with hindsight, it was clear to me.
Your reckless advancements came with no guarantees.
My mind’s made up.
we were never in love.
So what’s lefts absolution for the weight of our sin.
so if there’s no sign of the morrow our souls remain
