A second nurse who specializes in infectious diseases has been struck down by the virus, although the Director General of Primary Care in Madrid said that he had no news about a second case. • A CNN reporter returning from Liberia says she was “shocked” by the complete lack of screening at the Atlanta airport. • A teenager from West Africa who became sick while visiting Florida caused Jackson Memorial Hospital to go on high alert on Sunday amid fears that they may have the deadly Ebola virus. Officials said the patient took a taxi to Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach after he became sick with flu-like symptoms. • Little to no precautions are being implemented to avoid the spread of the Ebola virus in the apartment complex where Thomas Eric Duncan was sick for days. As one Washington Post headline reads, "No gloves, no masks: Dallas officials send a message of calm amid Ebola fears." The same thing goes for the ambulance that Thomas Eric Duncan was transported in. Also of concern is the homeless person who rode in the ambulance after Thomas Eric Duncan was transported. • Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins was expsosed to the family of Thomas Eric Duncan and also took no measures to make sure the Ebola virus was transmitted to himself, or the family that he went home to. • A Virginia family has apparently won its Internet campaign to persuade a pharmaceutical company to share its experimental, antiviral drug with them to save their 7-year-old son, who has cancer. The campaign to get the drug, called brincidofovir, to treat an adenovirus developed by Josh Hardy after a bone marrow transplant had attracted nearly 24,000 Facebook followers. The manufacturer, Chimerix of Durham, N.C., informed PEOPLE on Tuesday evening that it had worked out a deal with the FDA to initiate a new study of the effects of brincidofovir on the adenovirus – beginning Wednesday with Josh Hardy. • The Democrats need for getting re-elected is trumping the safety of the American people by not securing the Mexico/USA border while the Ebola virus outbreak scare continues on. • A Cartersville man is rightly upset after he said drug police mistook a garden full of okra for marijuana plants.
