China's consumer prices rose more than expected in February, which may ease concerns about deflation risks and take some of the pressure off policymakers to take more stimulus action. The consumer price index rose 1.4 per cent last month compared to a year earlier. That was much higher than the 0.8 per cent increase registered in January, a five-year low, and expectations of a 1 per cent rise
