I did my Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage in April/May 2004. To be authentic, I walked the whole French Way; 34 days, 18 kg of gear, 764 km on foot. I lost 8 kg in weight!
I had read a lot about the Camino being a spiritual experience, and I wanted to try and capture on film my own reactions as I walked the way.
I find watching the film a little difficult, I feel a little embarrassed at just how earnest and honest I was trying to be. But the reaction from viewers has been amazing. Still, all these years later, people contact me thanking me for documenting my journey.
I have a little facebook page for the film. https://www.facebook.com/pages

Surrounded by National Park, Cape Trib. is a truly beautiful location. But for the locals, life can tough, no grid power, the threat of cyclones, the mad heat and the relentless rain. Only a select few make it their home.
I have organised an interview with a couple, Digby and Alison Gotts, who have been living in the rainforest for the last 12 years. They use solar panels for electricity and share there house with a multitude of forest creatures such as frogs, bats and snakes. They are virtually self sufficient with a fantastic exotic tropical fruit orchid and huge vegie patch.

In Kuching , Sarawak, Borneo I visited a Taoist Temple where they perform a ceremony whereby someone is possessed by the Master of Hell and can answer questions people have.
I got the chance to ask some questions, and to test the validity tried to trick the Devil! My trick question didn't prove anything either way but as you will see in the video, the act of the spirit entering the participant, Mr Lee, was quite theatrical.

Travel Videos - Australia : Byron Bay (pop. 6130)
It seems every backpacker must make the pilgrimage to Byron Bay. Once the centre for peace, love and alternative lifestyles, now home of a growing number of baby boomer 'seachangers' from capital cities down south. With this new mix, Byron is evolving, (and the real estate prices are going through the roof).
Arrived in Byron Sunday night. Byron attracts creative types and also has a huge collection of practitioners of alternative health therapies. To try and capture this I am interviewing John Dahlsen an artist. John makes a daily trip to the beach where he collects plastic waste washed

I have a little facebook page for the film. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Camino-de-Santiago-The-Way-Film/104389669617097?ref=hl Despite not really doing anything with this page, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger, reaching close to 1,000 people.
So I've decided to release the whole film, in it's entirety on youtube. I will have ads running in the video and encourage you to explore these ads, any income for a independent filmmaker is handy, and will help me continue my current journey of trying to film the whole world.
Feel free to share, comment and like the video. I'm always happy to hear how my little film helped encourage people to do the Camino themselves. It is an amazing journey, a one of a kind experience.
Hice mi Camino de Santiago en abril / mayo de 2004. Ser auténtico , caminé todo el Camino Francés , 34 días , 18 kg de artes de pesca, 764 kilometros a pie. He perdido 8 kg de peso !

Meet a Local Travel Series – Vietnam
Explore unique Vietnam from the top to the bottom, meeting locals at top tourist destinations.
Stories include:
*Heritage listed Ha Long Bay is a major tourist attraction in Vietnam, and rightly so.The bay is home to over a thousand jungle clad limestone pillars, several of which are hollow and contain enormous caves.
*I next visit Cat Ba Island, the largest island in the bay. Half of Cat ba is National Park.I interview Tuan, a local cafe owner. He takes me for a tour of the island and we also visit a floating village, where people farm fish in small enclosures.
*Homestay with a Hill Tribe family. There are 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.?Most are located in the remote highlands. The village of Ban Luc, where we stayed, was made up of an ethnic group called White Thai. It was a great experience to stay with a family in their traditional stilt house, with bamboo slate floor and palm leaf roof. To see how they cook, to wander the idyllic village and get a glimpse of rural life. We got to try local specialities like bamboo rice and a home made alcoholic beverage drank through bamboo straws. The community put on a song and dance show featuring traditional dance and instruments.
*Hanoi has a 1000 year history as a city. It has been invaded by the Chinese, French and Japanese. The French Colonial period in particular has had a noticeable influence on the aesthetics of the City. I visit a Bia Hoi Bar where I find relief from the constant rush and din. Lan, a student in International Relations, gives me a half day tour of Hanoi. We visit the flower market, watch people exercise around Hoan Kiem Lake, and visit Lan’s favorite restaurant, Hai Vuong Quan.
*Hue was the ancient imperial city of the Nguyen Dynasty. I visit the Citadel which once contained the forbidden city, and take a dragon boat tour along the Perfume River to view the Thien Mu Pagoda and the Tombs of the Emperors. I meet up with Nhi, a commerce student who takes me to Thanh Toan Bridge where we meet a fortune teller. Nhi discusses superstition in Vietnam and we both get our palms read.
*Hoi An was the most important trading port in South East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century. It traded items like silk, ceramics and spices with China, Japan, Europe, India, and even Arabia. Then due to certain changes, it sat dormant for 200 years, remaining unchanged, until recently discovered by tourists.I interviewed Eric Kappeler, a Swiss-born sculptor living in Hoi An.I also get to see a display of Cham dancing, and visit Marble Mountain, where sculptors have made a vision of hell in the subterranean caves.
*In Nha Trang I do a story on the positive impact tourists can have on local people. Mai Loc was a cyclo driver, a chance meeting with a Norwegian couple and their gift to Loc, of a small camera, lead to him changing careers and realising his talent as a photographer. Self taught, Loc’s photos have been exhibited around the world. I also visit Monkey Island where monkeys have been taught to ride bikes.
*The hill village of Dalat is a temperate tourist escape from the tropical heat of the rest of Vietnam. The most common tourist activity in Dalat is to take an Easy Rider guided motorcycle of the surrounding countryside. I take a tour and visit a silk worm farm, a waterfall, watch traditional weaving, and visit a rural blacksmith who offers me a homemade alcoholic brew made of rice and reptile animal parts! For lunch we visit a local diner where we learn how Pho, beef noodle soup, is prepared.
*I think the first thing that you notice about Ho Chi Minh City is the traffic, elbow to elbow, a constant drone of motorcycle motors and horns. In Saigon, I interviewed video artist, Tran Dan, asking him where he finds inspiration in such a bustling city.

The Gotts have lived at Cape Tribulation for the last 12 years. In that time they have lived through 3 cyclones.

Tranz Scenic Overlander, Tranz Coastal & Tranz Alpine TV Adverts From 2005 & 2006
A number of variants on the Overlander TV adverts including Steam Engine Saturdays, The Saving of the Overerlander train, the then Tranz Coastal variants as well as finally the Tranz Alpine, and Tranz Alpine Steam Saturdays!
It's a case of "Spot The Difference" in pricing on some but if you can make it to the end - the last few adverts are worth it!

John makes a daily trip to the beach where he collects plastic waste washed up the night before. From this waste he creates art pieces. I found his art to be like a double edged sword, I was both astounded by the beauty of his art, and repelled by the thought it was all collected from our beaches.

I meet up with a Javanese Shaman of Muslim background, who speaks with spirits. People visit her to ask questions about their life. On special occasions the shaman also levitates.
I ask the Shaman why I feel unmotivated in my business and she suggests this feeling is only because my personal life is causing me stress. I inferred this to relate to a recent failed 'holiday romance' that has left me unfocused. But it was me who added this snippet of information to the conversation. So was the shaman just answering with generalised answers that I added to?

Complete Half Hour Program - Meet the locals as the Overlander travels around Tasmania
Travel Tasmania seeing it's top destinations through the eyes of the locals. Stories include:
Rob Pennicott and his artist wife Michaye live an idyllic family life on Bruny Island. Surrounded by nature and a bountiful sea, Bruny appears to be paradise, but as Rob suggests, may not be for everyone. I also discuss the sad history of Truganini, the last full blooded Tasmanian Aborigine.
In Hobart I interview Sudanese musician Ajak Kwai about her experience living in Tasmania.
Formation of the Australian Greens Political Party. I take a flight to the South West Wilderness area of Tasmania, learning about Critchley Parker Junior, an ill fated explorer who hoped to form a new Jewish State in the region. I also interview Senator Bob Brown, leader of the world's first Greens Political Party.
This action packed video is three stories packed into one. First I feature archival footage from the seminal Franklin River campaign, then I investigate the Facial Tumor Disease effecting the wild Tasmanian Devil Population, and finally I do a story on Port Arthur, an historic convict colony where I interview guide Laura Leeworthy, do their ghost tour and film a Ghost!!
Fishing for Trout in Tasmania offers anglers some of the most remote Lake Fishing in the world. I interview Janice Spencer about the Land of 3,000 Lakes. Janice was the first female angler ever accepted for an Australian competition Fly Fishing Team.
Tasmania has some of the biggest cold water surf breaks in the world. I visit Marrawah on the north west corner, a location renowned for it's year round surf. I interview 16 yr old local Zak Grey.
Cruising the winding roads of Tasmania on a Harley Davidson with Simon Richardson. Simon owns the Launceston Harley Davidson Dealership and believes Tasmania offers bikers great touring opportunities, with mountainous roads and free camping. I also visit Stanley, Tasmania's Best Town. Simon rides a 1980 Shovelhead Harley Trike.
For my last Tasmania story I visited Campbelltown's sombre convict brick display and then interviewed an Irish Woman in the Town of National Park, near the Mt Field National Park. Trish Rawlins believes Tasmania is like Ireland before it lost all it's trees.

I recently traveled the States for four months doing documentary stories at 13 different locations. This is a project I may not be uploading in it's entirety on youtube, but I'd like to share some of the interviews I did with local entrepreneurs.
I speak with Scott Colosimo from Cleveland Cyclewerks. A design student who has brought design and industry back to the rust belt city of Cleveland. Scott talks about the trials and tribulations of setting up a business from scratch and the new global economy.

Spain Travel Video Guide - Meet a Local Travel Series
Travel Spain and appreciate it's amazing diversity by meeting the locals.
(English/Spanish Language)
Stories include:
*In Sevilla I interview two flamenco dancers, Asa Danielson from Sweden, and Elena Moro Roman, an Australian of Spanish Background. Both have moved to Sevilla to practice flamenco. I also try to define the flamenco term 'Duende', with interpretative dance and poetry.
*Cuenca, a Unesco World Heritage site, has a rich and varied history. Best known for it's Hanging Houses, Cuenca was founded as a Moorish fort, became a centre for religious orders, and more recently, became home for many artists. I interview Alberto Cuesta Senior about the joys of maintaining a garden and spoke with Antonio Perez about his Contemporary Art Museum.
*Benimaclet was a farming village on the outskirts of Valencia. As Valencia grows, one history replaces another. Alberto Cuesta, a scientist discusses the changes occurring in his Benimaclet neighborhood.
*Cave Dwellers (cuevas) of San Miguel Alto. In Granada I visit the Alhambra, a fine example of Moorish Architecture, which uses the aesthetically pleasing golden ratio in its dimensions. I then learn about cave living, interviewing such characters as Dr, Sun, who uses a solar cooking machine to prepare meals.
*What I like about Vigo is that it is not a tourist town. It is just a town where Spanish life carries on as it has for generations. I was a guest of the Ramallo family, and interviewed Fernando Ramallo, a linguistics professor, about the various languages spoken in Spain.
*The Basque people and their language may well be the oldest in europe, pre dating the Celts and the Romans. I investigate whether they know of the fountain of youth. Rebecca Ezquerro helps me on my search
*It is always interesting to hear what people have to say about their city. In Barcelona I interviewed Nick Musgrave, and englishman who moved from London to pursuit photography, and Pilar de la Pena Sanchez, who believes the streets of Barcelona act out like a movie.
*The theme for my Madrid video is follow your dream. I interview Marta Escauriaza about living her dream of running a restaurant, and Javier Icazuriaga about his recently established music recording business.

Anyone interested in translating both Malay and English from this interview please send me an email via youtube.

Sneak Peek of new travel film:
Two strangers travel through Italy searching for la dolce vita. Do they find that Italians have the answer to how a life should be lived?
I play a Australian wineblogger who has written one successful novel and lost passion for writing and Michele plays a librarian who wants to write a book about what represents la Dolce Vita ( the good life) and together 'Scott' and 'Charlotte' travel Italy searching for the answers.
English is Michele's 4th language and this is both our first time at 'acting'!

Havana Cuba, What to Expect
Havana Cuba, What to Expect
Havana Cuba, What to Expect
In this short video I explain some of the unique aspects of visiting Cuba from getting around to getting a room.
The dual currency/economy makes even the simple task of changing money an interesting experience!
Due to food shortages Cuba isn't exactly a great culinary destination. Compared to the rest of Central America it can be quite pricey for tourists. Be aware local wages can be as low as $15 USD a month and as tourism provides such a great influx of cash, there are many tourist touts and rampant prostitution.
In the same way that tourists visit Detroit to photograph the 'ruin porn' Havana is quite visually stunning.

The Great Beijing Noodle Scam, Tourists Beware!
The Great Beijing Noodle Scam, Tourists Beware!
The Great Beijing Noodle Scam, Tourists Beware!
While in Beijing I found myself victim to one of the worst Tourist Scams going around - The Beijing Noodle Scam!
Basically locals see Tourists enter a noodle shop and encourage them to eat noodles in the wrong way! They encourage slurping, standing and making a hell of a racket and mess!
This scam has ruined many a shirt, and secret cameras film the tourists and feature it on China's most popular comedy series, 'Tourist's Eating Badly' 游客吃不好
The Chinese Government frown on the practise and any local caught fooling a Tourist face hefty prison sentences.
Luckily for me, the Tourist Police had been watching the notorious Aiping for quite a

Number Two on her list was a visit to the Mayan Ruins of Oxtankah, about 16 km's north of Chetumal. Oxtankah appears to have been built in the early classic period (200-600AD) and is unique in that it features pyramids that also double as tombs.
I've visited a lot of Mayan Ruins and what was unique about Oxtankah is that I had the whole site completely to myself! After the crazy crowds of Tulum, and the fences restricting access, it was refreshing to v

In Chengdu I visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Pandas a quite fascinating in that 99% of their diet is Bamboo. This is despite the fact they have the digestive system of a carnivore. This means they must eat up to 14 kg of Bamboo a day as they receive very little energy or protein from it. This also means they tend to have very little energy to do anything else other than eat and poop. In fact a Panda poops up to 40 times a day!
So essentially, when you see Pandas, they will either be eating, pooping or sleeping!
I visited the Pandas with Chengdu Jenny, a Panda Whisper

South Boston has traditionally been the part of Boston where Irish Immigrants settled. It is now going through quite a gentrification process as new condominiums are forcing up prices in what in the past has been a rough part of town.
Irish gangsters such as James "Whitey" Bulger, who was on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list, use to call 'Southie' home and Irish influence can still be found in some of the local bars.
The best bar I found was Croke Park/Whitey's where everyone is welcome, drinks are cheap, pool is free and the jukebox plays some kicking tunes. https://www.facebook.com/crokeparkpu

When I visited Vang Vieng in August 2012, it was the hottest ticket on the South East Asian backpacker trail. Little did I know, that same month, it would change forever, being shutdown due to government pressure following numerous backpacker deaths.
The sleepy riverside rice growing village became popular about 10 years ago due to the practise of visiting volunteers on an organic farm, riding tractor tire tubes down the Nam Song River. Tubing became the town’s point of difference and from that humble begin

A real outback boozer, The Grove Hill Hotel, 16 km's off the main road. Every month the publicans Stan and Mary put on a free bbq.
Had a great night, met some interesting locals, enjoyed the pre 1970's music Stan was playing...and even had a dance.

Darwin, capital of the Northern Territory is a great base from which to explore the Top End's many attractions. While in Darwin make sure you visit museum and it's fascinating Cyclone Tracey exhibition (Darwin was demolished by a cyclone in 1974), catch a movie at the open air deck chair cinema, feed the fish at aquascene, have a feed at the wharf precinct and check out one of the many fantastic markets.
Darwin has a unique population mix with 75% of people aged under 25 years. It is also very multicultural, having over fifty different nationalities living harmoniously together. To capture the

Most of the cars are big and bold American made pre-1960 models and the architecture features a stunning array of styles from colonial to neo-classic, art deco to art nouveau.
Unfortunately for the residents, many of the buildings are in dangerous states of disrepair. It is not uncommon to see people living in a house next to another house that has crumbled into rubble!
Cuba has been one of my favourite destinations, apart from being a photographers dream, I really liked the people. They were friendly and proud, honest and humorous.
I would suggest if people have been thinking of visiting Cuba, do it immediately. When American's start visiting in huge numbers, it will change forever!

Luckily for me, the Tourist Police had been watching the notorious Aiping for quite a while, and arrested her on leaving the noodle shop.
Last I heard she was serving a 15 year sentence. Apparently my appearance on 'Tourists Eating Badly' was very popular. The host commented that I had a natural comedic flair, so in the end I suppose it wasn't such a bad experience!

In Chetumal I was lucky to couch surf with Maria and her family. Maria took me for a day tour taking in her FOUR TOP THINGS TO DO IN CHETAMAL.
After the crazy crowds of Tulum, and the fences restricting access, it was refreshing to visit a site where I could explore unhindered.

I visited the Pandas with Chengdu Jenny, a Panda Whisperer. Jenny understands Panda language and has provided us with the translations of what the Pandas were saying while we were filming. As you will see, Pandas are very forgetful.
Luckily the Panda is cute, because from an evolution point of view, it really is like a living fossil. Because they only eat Bamboo, their habitat is restricted to a few mountain ranges in central China. They are also restricted in their reproduction in that they don't reach sexual maturity until they are four to eight years old and only have one cub at two year intervals.
In captivity they seem to lose interest in breeding and thus artificial insemination is used. To tempt breeding, scientists have also used such methods as showing Pandas 'Panda Porn videos', showing footage of other Pandas mating, and given the males Viagra!
I also filmed a Red Panda, which also eats a hell of a lot Bamboo, but is actually not a bear, but a member of the raccoon/weasal/skunk family. Their diet is made up of two-thirds bamboo. Like the Giant Panda, they cannot digest cellulose, so they must eat a heap of bamboo to survive. They supplement their diet with small mammals, birds, flowers, berries and eggs.

The best bar I found was Croke Park/Whitey's where everyone is welcome, drinks are cheap, pool is free and the jukebox plays some kicking tunes. https://www.facebook.com/crokeparkpub?ref=br_tf
Named for its former owner Whitey McGrail, who was gunned down in the pub in 1985.
After visiting many dive bars all round the USA ( and believe me I had a list) from Key's West to Chicago, I crown Croke Park/Whitey's the BEST DIVE BAR in the USA. And as an Aussie, my decision is infallible!
So what makes a good Dive Bar:
No Pretension! - Open to anyone regardless of colour, creed, sex or fashion!
Normal Drink Prices - None of this fancy ass ridiculous prices for a drink.
Not a Tourist Bar - A good dive bar is a neighbourhood hub, not a photo opportunity for some tourist!
No Pokies - I'm sure Hell sounds like a pokie pub!

"If teenagers ruled the world, it might resemble Vang Vieng in Northern Laos"
NZ Herald
When I visited Vang Vieng in August 2012, it was the hottest ticket on the South East Asian backpacker trail. Little did I know, that same month, it would change forever, being shutdown due to government pressure following numerous backpacker deaths.
The sleepy riverside rice growing village became popular about 10 years ago due to the practise of visiting volunteers on an organic farm, riding tractor tire tubes down the Nam Song River. Tubing became the town’s point of difference and from that humble beginning begot riverside bars, nightly parties and tv bars serving endless repeats of family guy and friends, made palatable with servings of ‘happy’ pizzas, topped with magic mushrooms. The drink of the Nam Song is a Whisky Bucket - copious local whiskey, red bull and soft drink served up in a bucket for only $3.50.
“Laos is the most heavily bombed country on earth, hit by an average of one B-52 bomb every 8 minutes, 24 hrs a day, between '64 and '73 by U.S. forces"
It was a backpacker’s dream location - cheap prices, beautiful scenery and lawlessness. Days spent riding the river and nights spent partying, with an revolving array of young hedonists from around the globe to share the fun with. At one of the riverside bars, the barmen kept a record of the most ‘shag’s' in a day and the double digit figures attest to what a wild party town Vang Vieng was.
27 tourists died on the river in 2011, most drowning in the fast flowing waters of the Nam Song. Figures for 2012 were 7 tourists dead, including two Aussies, by August. Outside pressure on the government lead to the riverside bars being closed down late August and the scene changing forever.
I found Vang Vieng an interesting sociological experiment. Market forces work on supply and demand. Rice farming is one of the most labour intensive industries in the world. When locals see an opportunity to fulfil a need by setting up riverside bars, who is to blame for tourists over-indulging? Do we as humans really need to be controlled and regulated against ourselves?
Vang Vieng in the day was wild and crazy and a hell of a lot of fun…for a few days! To capture the madness I went with a track from The Stooges: ‘TV EYE’, from their 1970 funhouse album. And of course to match such frenetic raw music I needed to edit this baby like a epileptic's nightmare!
In my video I didn’t want to pontificate about who was right or wrong over the deaths, I just wanted to show you what it was like. I hope you enjoy what some would call tourism gone wrong and other’s, who survived the bedlam, one crazy ride!

Bourbon Street, New Orleans - Audio-visual exploration
youtube travel videos http://www.overlander.tv
There is really no other place in America like New Orleans and Bourbon Street is it's open air party street.
I tried to capture Bourbon Street in it's entirety, the huge crowds, the drinking on the streets, the strippers, the spruikers, the bars, the costumes, the drunks. A sensual, sleazy visceral barrage on the senses.

Between Darwin and Kakadu National Park is the Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge.
They put on a great Aboriginal Culture Show of a night, around the camp fire, and of a morning introduce guests to bush tucker and natural medicines on a walking tour of the surrounding bushland.
They also do a boat tour of the Mary River where you are almost guaranteed the chance to see crocodiles.
To film in Kakadu National Park, one must pay for a permit.
The management lob all commercial filming in the same basket.
I don't think this is terribly fair, or supportive of independent Aussie filmmakers.
For self funded filmmakers, hoping to make commercially viable projects, surely National Parks could defer payment, or reduce fees, to encourage independent productions that promote Australia!
The slick million dollar taxpayer funded tourism ad campaigns are not the only way to promote our wonderful country. With the advent of online video, Australian citizens should be allowed to film in their National Parks and feature their work online, without fear of fines or imprisonment. As long as they are respectful to Aboriginal cultural sites.

One hundred kilometres east of Katherine, Manyallaluk is an Aboriginal owned and operated tourism business. Visitors can do tours where they learn various aspects of Aboriginal Culture. The emphasis is on having fun and getting involved in the activities.
The first thing that I noticed about Manyallaluk is how happy everyone is who is lives out there. The guides love their work and really enjoy passing on their bush knowledge to the 'white fellas'.
A true cultural experience and one I advise every visitor to Australia, and every Aussie, should experience. A beautiful gem of a place
I interviewed Peter Bolgi, a local guide, about what visitors can expect on one of his tours.

To capture the face of Darwin, I interviewed Bow Chooiam a 17 year old first generation Thai girl who I met working at her parents stall at the Parap markets.

Camino de Santiago Documentary Film - The Way
Camino de Santiago Documentary Film - The Way
I did my Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage in April/May 2004.
I have a little facebook page for the film. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Camino-de-Santiago-The-Way-Film/104389669617097?ref=hl Despite not really doing anything with this page, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger, reaching close to 1,000 people.

Outback Australia - Down the Guts' travel program
Litchfield National Park is actually a more popular National Park with territorian locals than Kakadu - why? You can visit all it's sites in one day, you can swim without fear of crocodiles, and you don't have to pay fees to get in. of particular note are it's swimming holes and waterfalls.
The Grove Hill Hotel is a real outback boozer 16 km's off the main road. Every month the publicans Stan and Mary put on a free bbq.
Had a great night, met some interesting locals, enjoyed the pre 1970's music Stan was playing...and even had a dance.
Katherine's major tourist attraction is the Katherine Gorge which consists of 13 natural gorges carved through sandstone by the Katherine River.
We interviewed a French Helicopter Pilot, William Massart, who takes joy flights over the gorge.
Wycliffe Well Roadhouse is known as Australia's premier U.F.O. sightings location. Numerous people have reported seeing strange lights in the sky while staying a Wycliffe.
I interviewed Lew Farkas, owner of the roadhouse about the U.F.O. sightings.
In Alice Springs we enjoyed trying crocodile, kangaroo, camel and emu at Overlander Steakhouse and let our hair down at Bojangles Saloon
Situated 117 km's West of Alice Springs. Wallace Rock Hole is an Aranda Aboriginal community which runs Aboriginal Culture Rockart tours which cover such things as bush medicine, bush tucker, the history of the Aranda people and visits to ancient rock art sites
We interviewed Benjamin, a local guide about his community.
In Coober Pedy we interviewed Jenny Gough from the Old Timers Mine
Jenny is a long term resident of Coober Pedy and in the video talks about how a stoke of good luck resulted in finding and funding the Old Timers Mine.
In Adelaide we interviewed Anna Pak Poy from nomads world - Australia's finest chain of backpacking hostels
Anna helped organise our accommodation for the trip. She was born and bred in Adelaide and has such a passion for the place, we couldn't go past interviewing her.

Javanese Shaman, Kuching, Borneo
I meet up with a Javanese Shaman of Muslim background, who speaks with spirits. People visit her to ask questions about their life. On special occasions the shaman also levitates.
I ask the Shaman why I feel unmotivated in my business and she suggests this feeling is only because my personal life is causing me stress. I inferred this to relate to a recent failed 'holiday romance' that has left me unfocused. But it was me who added this snippet of information to the conversation. So was the shaman just answering with generalised answers that I added to?
Anyone interested in translating both Malay and English from this interview please send me an email via youtube.

English is Michele's 4th language and this is both our first time at 'acting'!

Havana Cuba, What to Expect
Havana Cuba, What to Expect

After the crazy crowds of Tulum, and the fences restricting access, it was refreshing to visit a site where I could explore unhindered.

The Cutest Pandas Ever! Chengdu, China
The Cutest Pandas Ever! Chengdu, China
youtube travel videos http://www.overlander.tv
In Chengdu I visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Pandas a quite fascinating in that 99% of their diet is Bamboo. This is despite the fact they have the digestive system of a carnivore. This means they must eat up to 14 kg of Bamboo a day as they receive very little energy or protein from it. This also means they tend to have very little energy to do anything else other than eat and poop. In fact a Panda poops up to 40 times a day!
So essentially, when you see Pandas, they will either be eating, pooping or sleeping!

America's Best Dive Bar, South Boston
America's Best Dive Bar, South Boston
youtube travel videos http://www.overlander.tv
South Boston has traditionally been the part of Boston where Irish Immigrants settled. It is now going through quite a gentrification process as new condominiums are forcing up prices in what in the past has been a rough part of town.
Irish gangsters such as James "Whitey" Bulger, who was on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list, use to call 'Southie' home and Irish influence can still be found in some of the local bars.
The best bar I found was Croke Park/Whitey's where everyone is welcome, drinks are cheap, pool is free and the jukebox plays some kicking tunes. https://www.facebook.com/crokeparkpub?ref=br_tf

When Vang Vieng was crazy, 2012
