The King Power Stadium is a football stadium which hosts home matches of English football club Leicester City. The all-seater stadium, inaugurated in July 2002, holds 32,500 and has the 19th largest stadium capacity in England. The stadium is named after King Power, a company owned by club owner Vichai Raksriaksorn. Prior to this it was known as the Walkers Stadium, through a sponsorship deal with Walkers Crisps.
Leicester's previous stadium was at nearby Filbert Street, which had been their home since 1891. It was gradually upgraded during the 20th century and with the advent of the Taylor Report in January 1990 requiring all clubs in the top two divisions to have all-seater stadiums by August 1994, Leicester City's directors began to investigate the possibility of building a new stadium during the early 1990s, but initially decided to take the redevelopment option by building a new stand on one side of Filbert Street and fitting seats into the remaining standing areas, giving the stadium a 21,500 all-seated capacity by the 1994–95 season.
The King Power International Co., Ltd. is a Thai travel retail company based in Bangkok. Its current chairman and CEO is Vichai Raksriaksorn.
The company is the leading travel retail in the country, with its own Duty Free shopping mall covering over 10,000 square metres and at Suvarnabhumi Airport and other places. 2010 it employed over 3,000 persons.
It received the royal warrant from the King of Thailand in December 2009. The garuda statue in front of headquarters symbolizes that privilege.
In August 2010, following agreement on a three-year shirt sponsorship deal with King Power, Milan Mandarić sold the English football club Leicester City F.C. to a Thai-led consortia named Asian Football Investments (AFI) that will be fronted by King Power Group's Vichai Raksriaksorn.
In 2007 the Airports Authority of Thailand (AOT) ordered King Power out of Suvarnabhumi Airport as it found that they had colluded with politicians, AOT board members and AOT officials to open at the airport without permission from the government. It was found that the contracts were void because they were designed to avoid the Public-Private Joint Venture Act that requires a lengthy selection process for any investment worth one billion baht or more by the private sector in a state project. King Power filed lawsuits against AOT in the civil courts for nullifying their contracts. To date, King Power remain at the airport and have recently applied for additional retail space.

Born in Huyton, Merseyside, Nugent was a member of the Liverpool youth academy but left in 2001, aged 15, without being offered a professional contract. It was only once he changed his position that he then became a professional with Bury, joining the club's successful Youth and Centre of Excellence department. After making his debut as a substitute against Port Vale in March 2002 at the age of just 16, Nugent initially struggled to live up to his early potential, but an explosive start to the 2004–05 Football League Two campaign saw several larger clubs take an interest.
Although a target for rivals Burnley, Nugent opted to join Preston North End rather than Northampton Town from Bury in January 2005 for a fee of £100,000 and proved himself more than worthy at Championship level.
