Cork City, April 13th, 2014. UAVs have huge potential but the safety of other aircraft and people on the ground is absolutely paramount. The proliferation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) presents new challenges but with education and co-operation, we can strive to keep our airspace safe for everyone. Always fly safely and follow these simple rules: https://www.iaa.ie/news.jsp?i=507 Enjoy the video :) #LoveCork #LoveIreland Twitter: https://twitter.com/RaymondFogarty

This video for Cork City Vacation Travel Guide is one of our older productions, but we wanted to share it with you to get some feedback on how these older clips compare to the more recent travel guides we’ve shot. Below are some links to those recent videos. Feel free to compare with this clip and comment below to let us know which ones you prefer, and what else you’d love to see from Expedia on YouTube! St. Petersburg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3ISUUO0CSo Kyoto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd1wzlwtKJ0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to Cork City, Ireland. Cork City has a long and varied past. The Irish variant of the name, “Corcaigh,” is derived from the word for “marsh,” though it hasn’t been a marshy area for quite some time. The city is built atop the River Lee, rich splits into two channels around the central area. Cork City has been important avenue for Irish trade since the early 900s, when Vikings used the port as a base of operations. A deep sense of history pervades the area; today, when you stroll down the streets of Cork City, you’re very likely treading over ancient waterways. When you tour Cork City, consider stopping at the Cork City Gaol. Originally opened in 1824, this gaol was described as “the finest in three kingdoms,” and it has housed both petty criminals and terrifying murderers. After closing in 1923, the gaol found use as a radio station and opened as a museum in 1994. Squeeze in some additional history in your Cork City sightseeing with a stop at Blackrock Castle Observatory. This 16th-century castle sits on the banks of the River Lee, and within its ancient stone walls are a science center, a restaurant, and an informational section about the city. We currently don't have a Health Industry in Cork or Ireland, we only have an sickness and disease industry which makes money from low health standards. Its time we actually started bringing all the great health conscious minds and hearts of Corks health and wellness community together to learn from each other and plan to evolve the future direction and evolution of Corks health Industry for the benefit of everyone.. Cork is only now for the first time in its history starting to create a Health Industry, just like we need a holistic approach to health, we also need a holistic approach to creating a whole new Health Industry in Cork which is sustainable and which supports and helps everyone.. Our collective unhealthy lifestyles have created a social epidemic of "diabesity,", and healthy community-driven solutions are the path of our future.. Cork is a big community about to unite to show the world the health solutions for the future by leading by example.. Its time to bring all the great minds and hearts of Corks health and wellness industry together on a like-minded community levels so we can all have an input, learn from each other and share our views and opinions equally to evolve the future direction and evolution of the health of both Cork and Ireland as a whole.. Gerard explaining how Cork is the health capital of the future and how for the first time in Irish history we are on the brink of moving away from our current sickness and disease industry by creating a whole new Health Industry and whole new way forward for health, lifestyle, business and a directional change on a community level right across Cork, which is going to not only save lives but create a whole new lifestyle change and system of distributing health information to people right across Cork to promote healthy lifestyle choices and the prevention of sickness on a level never seen before.. Cork is currently the Food capital of Ireland with major food development plans, health food shops, restaurants, smart food cafe's popping up in a way that was never seen before. Most gyms and health clubs in Cork are currently expanding, with access to health and nutritional knowledge available on levels never seen before. With advances in medical research, and a balance of the abundance of knowledge now also available from both eastern and western medical science its time to evolve together in unity with a balanced mind for the health benefit of all the people of Cork. Just like we need to have a holistic approach to living health, we also need to have a holistic approach to business right across Cork, where we work together as a unit for the health, growth and development of everyone.. PLEASE VISIT THE LINKS: http://www.corkfolkfestival.com/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/198664140176287/?fref=ts = About The Cork Folk Festival 2nd-5th October is an annual music event that takes place in Ireland’s southern capitol, Cork. The 35 year old festival is emerging as one of the most important folk & traditional music events in Ireland and has a growing reputation in Europe. Performances take place in concert halls, music venues, in 30 bars and on the Streets. It features concerts with international, cutting edge and established artists plus lectures, workshops, children’s events, and traditional set dancing. The event has a strong focus on local Cork City, Sliabh Luachra and Cuil Aodha music and song so prepare for plenty of polkas, slides and harrier ballads. History The opening night, of the long running Festival was on Thursday September 13th 1979 at Douglas GAA Club; (there was no Festival in 1988) Put together from year to year purely on a voluntary basis by a dedicated group of enthusiasts, aided by major sponsorship, and a combination of various sponsors and supporters, including those who over the years contribute financially to the cost of staging the festival, Cork City Council, the Arts Council, Fáilte Ireland, Carling, Beamish Irish Stout and CIT, and the Evening Echo etc. It's endurance is a tribute to the energy and labour of it's workers. It is appropriate to acknowledge the voluntary organising committee, and also the many volunteer workers who take charge of doors, organise artist accommodation, look after publicity, liaise with artists, and numerous other things involved in making such an event possible year on year. Particular recognition for Jim Walsh, Chairman and someone who has been a vital cog in Festival organisation since that very first year, long-serving Festival Director William "Hammy" Hammond, and also Timmy "the Brit" McCarthy, the inspirational figure behind the Festival's inception, as well as it's original Director/Secretary. = THIS IS AMATEUR HANDHELDS FOOTAGE AND DOES NOT FULLY REFLECT THE CONCERT SOUND OR PERFORMANCE AND IS HERE FOR NO FINANCIAL GAIN BY ME. HOPE KINDRED SPIRITS ENJOY VIEWING THIS, and internet connection and equipment permitting may be viewed in HD. The Irish Times 2015-03-29Cork (Irish: Corcaigh, pronounced [ˈkorkɪɟ], from corcach, meaning "marsh") is the second largest city in Ireland and the island of Ireland's third most populous city. It is the principal city and administrative centre of County Cork and the largest city in the province of Munster. Cork had a population of 119,418 in 2011, while the addition of the suburban areas contained in the county brings the total of the urban area to 198,582.Metropolitan Cork has a population of 399,216, while the Greater Cork area is about 518,128.
County Cork has earned the nickname of "the Rebel County", while Corkonians often refer to the city as the "real capital of Ireland", and themselves as the "Rebels". The city is built on the River Lee which divides into two channels at the western end of the city. The city centre is located on the island created by the channels. At the eastern end of the city centre they converge; and the Lee flows around Lough Mahon to Cork Harbour, one of the world's largest natural harbours. The city is a major Irish seaport; there are quays and docks along the banks of the Lee on the city's east side.
