Chapter 2 A descendant of the Sabaeans “It was both encompassed by the Nile quite round, and the other rivers, Astapus and Astaboras," (Josephus, Jewish-Roman historian.) Still sitting in the den, Dan seemed lost in thought. He looked at the Sovereign Imperial and Royal Appointment in his hand and decided to ask, “I have heard of the Queen but I have never heard of the King of Sheba. Is he another one of my ancestors?” “Perhaps you should read the Royal Appointment more carefully, Dan,” Damianos suggested. “If I recall correctly, the man was a descendant of the ‘Kings’ of Sheba, which means a descendant of those who reigned over the Sabaean Kingdom.” “Okay, and what do we know about these people apart from the fact that one of their queens was the subject of King Solomon’s poems in the bible.” Damianos had to laugh. “I’m sorry, Dan, but the Sabaeans have left us a lot more than a few poems addressed to the Queen of Saba. The kingdom of Saba was a Semitic civilization located in Southern Arabia, in today’s Yemen actually…” “Hold on a moment,” Dan said, “So, you’re saying the Kingdom of Saba is the same as the Kingdom of Sheba? Why the different appellation?” “The two names Sheba (spelled in Hebrew with shin) and Seba (spelled with samekh) are mentioned several times in the bible with different genealogy. For instance, in the Table of Nations, Seba, along with Dedan, is listed as a descendant of Noah's son Ham (as sons of Raamah, son of Cush). Later on in Genesis, Sheba and Dedan are listed as names of sons of Jokshan, son of Abraham. Another Sheba is listed in the Table of Nations as a son of Joktan. Another descendant of Noah's son Shem...” Dan waved a hand in front of his face. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked,” he said, grinning. “Go ahead with the story.” He reclined in his seat, the grin on his face not disappearing. “As I was saying,” Damianos went on, “the Semitic civilization of Saba lived in what is known today as Yemen from 1200 BC until its downfall in 275 AD. The kingdom fell at the hands of Yemenite dynasties at the issue of several civil wars, which gave rise to the kingdom of Himyarite.” “Interesting, isn’t it?” Dan heard from over his shoulder. He spun around in his seat to look up at a face he had come to know for a while – Gustavo. “What…? What on earth are you doing here?” Gustavo, a big, burly sort of a man, plopped down in the chair beside Dan’s. “I heard that you were going to travel into your past and decided that I might as well join you. And here I am.” “But you can’t be!” Dan yelled. “You can’t be here…, you’re not…, I mean you’re not…” “Dead? Is that what you’re trying to say?” Gustavo chuckled. “Perhaps not, but as you recall, I made a commitment to you which entailed my accompanying you in your travels. And since I have not changed my mind, and my destiny hasn’t offered me a life worth pursuing, I decided to have a glance at what you were doing.” Dan turned to Damianos. “Are you to blame for this?” “Partly, Dan, yes. You see, Gustavo ought to have returned to Key West upon your departure and although he did and even returned to working for the transport company where he worked shortly after the two of you met; he also returned to drinking and had an awful accident. At present, Gustavo is in a coma. He will remain so until his body heals and until you, Dan, have completed your travels through your ancestral lineage.” Dan looked dumfounded. He shook his head and then fixed his gaze on his friend. “Why did you go back to drinking? Wasn’t the first time costly enough for you?” Gustavo broke into another loud chuckle. “Wasn’t your first dare-devil accident enough for you?” “Alright, alright, I hear you,” Dan said, bowing his head as he put his elbows on his knees. He looked up at Damianos. “Anyone else joining us on this trip?” “No, Dan. The three of us will make the journey – no one else.” “What about Solange and Damian?” Gustavo asked. “Or even Nicolas?” Damianos shook his head. “No, Gustavo, no one will join us or should appear during our travels. You see, this is quite a different situation from the one you’ve experienced previously. This trip is not destined to take you down to Dan’s past, but rather for him to relive his past lives.” “You mean like past-life regression?” “Yes, Gustavo, exactly like that,” Damianos answered. “And I’m glad you’ve heard of it. Not everyone has, or even believes in the possibility of one re-living the life they had years or centuries ago.” “Well then,” Dan said, reclining once again to the back of his seat, “shall we get started?” “Alright,” Damianos said, “let’s go back to where your existence, Dan, seemed to have originated. The Assyrian scrolls and ancient documents have told us that the

Pre-Islamic Arabia refers to the Arabian Peninsula prior to the rise of Islam in the 630s. Some of the settled communities developed into distinctive civilizations. Sources for these civilizations are not extensive, and are limited to archaeological evidence, accounts written outside of Arabia and Arab oral traditions later recorded by Islamic scholars. Among the most prominent civilizations were the Thamud which arose around 3000 BCE and lasted to about 300 CE and Dilmun which arose around the end of the fourth millennium and lasted to about 600 CE. Additionally, from the beginning of the first millennium BCE, Southern Arabia was the home to a number of kingdoms such as the Sabaeans and the coastal areas of Eastern Arabia were controlled by the Iranian Parthians and Sassanians from 300 BCE. CAUTION : THIS VIDEO IS VERY OLD, THESES PLACES HAVE NOW CHANGED OR DISAPPEARED (Recent travelers have said to me that they don't recognize this place and that my video is outdated. It's true, it was Yemen when I was young ... decades ago... It's a window to the past for people interested by old footages, certainly not indication for present day travelers!) Souk of Sanaa (Yemen) Sanaa sometimes spelled Sanaa or Sana'a) is the capital of Yemen and the centre of San'a' Governorate. San'a' is located at 15.354722° N 44.20667° E and has a population of 1,747,627 (2004 census). San'a' lies in the heart of Yemeni highlands on a plateau at an altitude of 2200m surrounded by several mountains, notably Jabal Nuqum and Aiban. The city is around 320 km north of Aden. San'a' is one of the ancient Yemeni cities dating back to the Sabaean dynasty of the 6th Century BC. The oldest written reference to its existence is found in inscriptions which date back to the 1st Century AD. It is suggested that San'a' was the capital of the Himyarite kingdom at the onset of the 6th Century AD. When King Yousef Athar (or Dhu Nuwas), the last of the Himyarite kings, was in power, San'a' was also the capital of the Ethiopian viceroys, then after 570 of the Persians. As of the dawn of Islam until the detachment of independent sub-states in many parts of Yemen Islamic Caliphate, San'a' persisted as the governing seat, who himself is Caliph's deputy in running the affairs of one of Yemen's Three Makhalifs: Mikhlaf San'a', Mikhlaf al-Janad and Mikhlaf Hadhramawt. The city of San'a' recurrently assumed an important status and all Yemenite States competed to control it. The Mamelukes arrived in Yemen in AD 1517. Following the collapse of the Mamelukes in Egypt at the hands of the Ottoman Turks, Yemen fell under the Ottoman Rule and during the first Ottoman rule of Yemen between 1538-1635, San'a' became the capital of the Ottoman Vilayet and also during the Ottoman second rule 1872-1918. In 1918, San'a' was the capital of Imam Yahya, who ruled North Yemen. At the onset of the 1962 revolution which deposed the imamate rule, it became the capital of the Arab Republic of Yemen. It was then the capital of unified Yemen in 1990 where it is dubbed as the historical capital of Yemen. The old, fortified city has been inhabited for more than 2500 years and contains a wealth of intact architectural gems. It was declared a World Heritage City by the United Nations in 1984. Efforts are underway to preserve some of the oldest buildings, some of which are over 400 years old. Surrounded by ancient clay walls which stand six to nine metres (20-30ft) high, the old city boasts over 100 mosques, 12 hammams (baths) and 6500 houses. Many of the houses look rather like ancient skyscrapers -- reaching several storeys high and topped with flat roofs, they are decorated with elaborate friezes and intricately carved windows. One of the most popular attractions is Suq al-Milh (Salt Market), where it is possible to buy not only salt but also bread, spices, raisins, cotton, copper, pottery, silverware, antiques, and a host of other goods. The majestic seventh century al-Jami'a l-Kabir (The Great Mosque) is one of the oldest in the Muslim world. BÄb al-Yaman "Yemen Gate" is an iconized entry point through the city walls and is over 700 years old. (wikipedia) VALPARD FILMS http://valpardfilms.free.fr

Dekemhare Music : First Day,Huma-Huma; YouTube Audio Library Eritrea , officially the State of Eritrea, is a country in the Horn of Africa. With its capital at Asmara, it is bordered by Sudan to the west, Ethiopia in the south, and Djibouti in the southeast. The northeastern and eastern parts of Eritrea have an extensive coastline along the Red Sea, across from Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The nation has a total area of approximately 117,600 km2 (45,406 sq mi), and includes the Dahlak Archipelago and several of the Hanish Islands. Its name Eritrea is based on the Ancient Greek name for the Red Sea (Ἐρυθρὰ Θάλασσα Eruthra Thalassa), which was first adopted for Italian Eritrea in 1890. Eritrea is a multi-ethnic country, with nine recognized ethnic groups. It has a population of around six million inhabitants. Most residents speak Afro-Asiatic languages, either of the Semitic or Cushitic branches. Among these communities, the Tigray-Tigrinya people make up about 55% of the population, with the Tigre people constituting around 30% of inhabitants. In addition, there are a number of Nilo-Saharan-speaking Nilotic ethnic minorities. Most people in the territory adhere to Christianity or Islam. The Kingdom of Aksum, covering much of modern-day Eritrea and northern Ethiopia, rose somewhere around the first or second centuries and adopted Christianity around the time Islam had spread through Egypt and the Levant. In medieval times much of Eritrea fell under the Medri Bahri Kingdom, with a smaller region being part of the Hamasien Republic. The creation of modern day Eritrea is a result of the incorporation of independent Kingdoms and various vassal states of the Ethiopian empire and the Ottoman Empire, eventually resulting in the formation of Italian Eritrea. In 1947 Eritrea became part of a federation with Ethiopia, the Federation of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Subsequent annexation into Ethiopia led to the Eritrean War of Independence, ending with Eritrean independence following a referendum in April 1993. Hostilities between Eritrea and Ethiopia persisted, leading to the Eritrean–Ethiopian War of 1998–2000 and further skirmishes with both Djibouti and Ethiopia. Eritrea is a member of the African Union, the United Nations and IGAD, and is an observer in the Arab League. The Red Sea coast of Eritrea was occupied by early anatomically modern humans during the last interglacial period. According to linguists, the first Afro-Asiatic-speaking populations arrived in the region during the ensuing Neolithic era from the family's proposed urheimat ("original homeland") in the Nile Valley, or the Near East. Other scholars propose that the Afro-Asiatic family developed in situ in the Horn, with its speakers subsequently dispersing from there. Together with Djibouti, Ethiopia, northern Somalia, and the Red Sea coast of Sudan, Eritrea is considered the most likely location of the land known to the Ancient Egyptians as Punt, whose first mention dates to the 25th century BC. By 2000 BC, Agaw peoples speaking a proto-Ethiopic language ancestral to Ge'ez are believed to have migrated from southeastern Eritrea. Along with other local groups, they had already established linguistic and cultural identities by the time Sabaean influences were introduced from Southern Arabia. Excavations at Sembel found evidence of an ancient pre-Aksumite civilization in greater Asmara. This Ona urban culture is believed to have been among the earliest pastoral and agricultural communities in the Horn region. Artefacts at the site have been dated to between 800 BC and 400 BC, contemporaneous with other pre-Aksumite settlements in the Eritrean and Ethiopian highlands during the mid-first millennium BC. Qohaito was another ancient pre-Aksumite city in southern Eritrea. It is often identified as the town Koloe described in the Periplus of the Erythraean Sea, a Greco-Roman document dated to the end of the first century AD. D'mt was a kingdom located in southern Eritrea and northern Ethiopia that existed during the 8th and 7th centuries BC. With its capital at Yeha, the realm developed irrigation schemes, used plows, grew millet, and made iron tools and weapons. After the fall of Dʿmt in the 5th century BC, the plateau came to be dominated by smaller successor kingdoms until the rise of one of these polities during the first century, the Kingdom of Aksum, which was able to reunite the area. Mandaeism or Mandaeanism (Modern Mandaic: Mandaʻiūtā (מנדעיותא); Arabic: مندائية Mandāʼīyah/Mandāʾiyyah) is a gnostic religion (Aramaic manda means "knowledge," as does Greek gnosis) with a strongly dualistic worldview. Its adherents, the Mandaeans, revere Adam, Abel, Seth, Enosh, Noah, Shem, Aram and especially John the Baptist, but reject Abraham, Moses and Jesus of Nazareth. According to most scholars, Mandaeans migrated from the Southern Levant to Mesopotamia in the first centuries CE, and are of pre-Arab and pre-Islamic origin. They are Semites and speak a dialect of Eastern Aramaic known as Mandaic. They may well be related to the "Nabateans of Iraq" who were pagan, Aramaic-speaking indigenous pre-Arab and pre-Islamic inhabitants of southern Iraq. This video is targeted to blind users. noodls 2014-10-02The Sabaeans or Sabeans (Arabic: السبأيون as-Saba’iyūn) were an ancient people speaking an Old South Arabian language who lived in what is today Yemen, in the south west of the Arabian Peninsula.
Some scholars suggest a link between the Sabaeans and the Biblical land of Sheba, and would dismiss any link or confusion with the Sabians.
The ancient Sabaean Kingdom established power in the early 1st millennium BC. In the 1st century BC it was conquered by the Himyarites, but after the disintegration of the first Himyarite empire of the Kings of Saba' and Dhu-Raydan, the Middle Sabaean Kingdom reappeared in the early 2nd century. It was finally conquered by the Himyarites in the late 3rd century. Its capital was Ma'rib. The kingdom was located along the strip of desert called Sayhad by medieval Arab geographers, which is now named Ramlat al-Sab`atayn.
The Sabaean people were South Arabian people. Each of these had regional kingdoms in ancient Yemen, with the Minaeans in the north in Wadi al-Jawf, the Sabeans on the south western tip, stretching from the highlands to the sea, the Qatabanians to the east of them and the Hadramites east of them.
The Queen of Sheba (Hebrew: מלכת שבא, Malkaṯ Šəḇâ in Biblical Hebrew; Malkat Sh'va in Modern Hebrew; Ge'ez: ንግሥተ ሳባ, Nigiste Saba (Nəgəstä Saba); Arabic: ملكة سبأ, Malikat Sabaʾ) was a monarch of the ancient kingdom of Sheba and is referred to in Ethiopian history, the Bible, the Qur'an, Yoruba customary tradition, and Josephus. She is widely assumed to have been a queen regnant, although there is no historical proof of this; in fact, she may have been a queen consort. The location of her kingdom is believed to have been in Ethiopia and Yemen.
The queen of Sheba has been called a variety of names by different peoples in different times. To King Solomon of Israel she was the Queen of Sheba. In Islamic tradition she was called Bilqis or Balqis by the Arabs, who say she came from the city of Sheba, also called Mareb, in Yemen or Arabia Felix. The Roman historian Josephus calls her Nicaule. The Ethiopian people claim her as Makeda or Maqueda. She is thought to have been born sometime in the 10th century BC. Her lineage was part of the Ethiopian dynasty established in 1370 BCE by Za Besi Angabo, which lasted 350 years; Makeda's grandfather and father were the last two rulers of this dynasty. Makeda's mother was known as Queen Ismenie. In 1005 BCE, Makeda's father appointed her as his successor from his deathbed.
This is the 'lectric
Lounge
No one's afraid to laugh
So c'mon, man,
Let me break your back
Talk 'bout the Metalin
And what's on tap,
What else you come here
What else could this be
about?
For me it's just
Waiting for the kid to come
Waiting for the kid to come
And I'm finding out what this
is about, yeah
Waiting for the kid to come
Let it be
Seventeen years
And the tradition, your dash
lost track
Everything comes back out (but you
can't hold back)
And this is like being alive (but
Falls right out of your mouth, yeah
(but you can't hold back)
Here at the 'lectric
Lounge
(outside between the
bands)
No one's afraid to laugh
And you get just what you come
to expect
You can stick a lot up your ass
cause for me it's just
Waiting for the kid to come
Waiting for the kid to come
And I'm finding out what this
is about
And I'm waiting for the kid to
come out
I'm tired of life
I am tired of this
life
When I lay down in my bed
With a gun pressed to my
head
This damn nation
This frustration
This damn nation
All alone
I am all alone
I try to not stay all
alone
This damn nation
This frustration

(this is way too distorted to
decipher, but here's the gist of it)
Awwwwww....
We don't give a damn, we just
wanna party down
Partyup, whoo
Out on your back, and stepping
on a crack
Partyup
Partyup, partyup
Everybody dancing
Playing rock and roll
yeah yeah yeah yeah
whoooo, etc.
I'm Prince, and I rock the
mic,
Anybody gotta quarter?
(okay, so that last line isn't
Mountain to sound
Mountain to sound
Mountain to sound
Mountain to sound
And time's so slow, it's
barely a buzzing
Barely there, so loud
We've been at the airport so
long now
We go back to sound
It'll come back to you
It'll come back to you
soon
Come right back to you
It'll come back to you
And night, it comes, I'm losing
this hollow
That's okay
All the noise, you're playing
after hours
Sounds like hot shit to
Oh set, right, go
All the noise, you're playing
after hours
You could turn it down
I've been at the airport so
long now
I'd give all and all I've
On my mind is making up brand
new chords
Then Fred Hampton comes on
Takes it all back
It brings me back to
Earth
She'll know my, she'll know my,
she'll know my
Everything I knew
And loved about you
She'll know my, she'll know my,
she'll know my
So I could get through
I'll put them all away
Loss leaders yeah
It's just that
Sounds that you make
Go right inside of me
Makes us seem more
All I've got
Can't live but can love
Takes all that I can
find
She'll know my, she'll know my,
she'll know my
Everything I knew
And loved about you
She'll know my, she'll know my,
she'll know my
So I could get through
I'll put them all away
She'll know my, she'll know my,
she'll know my
Tears fell down
Inside
Now he tried to change their
ways
Till he got the
bulletholes
Now he lives in outer
space
Now he tried to change their
ways
Now he lives in outer
space
Now he tried to change their
ways

If you say so
Nothing's wrong with you
I haven't been so
Down since that time that I
did too
If you say so (say so)
We're all out as one
Until I go home, so hard
That heart has just
begun
Want to get in so deep, oh
I should like to be
through
Do you want to, want to
Do you want to, want to
Do you want to
If you say so
Kemp is Antichrist
I haven't been so, I haven't
been so
I haven't been so, I haven't
been so
If you say so (say so)
We're all out as one
Until I go home, so hard
That heart is just....
Wanna get in so deep, oh
I would like to be through (I would
like to be through)
Do you want to, want to
Do you want to, want to
I could see your words hang
in the air
But they did not spill
outward
I thought that I heard
And I could see the dude in
your next room
By himself
So I took one look around,
walked back out
Now the snot has caked into
my pants
It's a good bet that it
will soon
Turn to crystal form
Yeah so take it off and take
it off again
As the crackers watch you take
I've
Been waiting here for
someone
And I'm
On the cut with everyone
And I'm fit for
And I'm ready
Again
Yeah I'm fit for
Again and again
So you
Understand just what I
mean
Kids will go to such
extremes
Here's the answer
What's the question
Again
Oh c'mon now
I can do it, should it take
all night
Fill up the tank cause
If it takes all day
We'll get out the

I still got my money
I still got my money
I still got my money
Fuck with me, shit, that's a must
Fuck with me, I got that money
Fuck with me, get your head bust
So fuck with me, get your head up
Fuck with me and spend all our trust
Fuck with me, in Spenzo we trust
Fuck with me, in Spenzo they trust
Fuck with me
Spenzo just landed back home, youngling
Support at the airport, welcome back home, y'all get it
Shit, the whole city my home, you know what I mean
Fear it ain't, rich crew at your home, youngling
Stress free zone, fresh gray zone
Looking like I own three homes, still stay up in my old G home
Tryina get rich as rich has 'em
Get cheese, americano cheddar, bragging I'm the man
Light leather, just cut the letter, man, with the leather
And I pulled up in that, what the fuck
Hoped out, who the fuck is he, like I don't wanna be bothered
Can't nobody fuck with me
Won't you crack the cars, get back the doves
Gonna smack the car, get back the guap
Ride around so I stay grade up
All hella team, bitch praise up
Putting that, work like fur, city nigga got thoughts in a purse
All these motherfuckers just talk about what they heard
And what's going on with me and her, her, her, her
I'm the best shot of newcomers, I ain't gotta lie, check the numbers
Motherfuckers dropping this summer but it spends who we trust
First day gettin' out on my own
Look straight, jail is not my home
Sick and tired of all this crap
I got 45 months even though I didn't even do it.
Everybody's peakin' through the window
Nobody sneakin' through my back door
Set aside all this crap
I got 45 months and I didn't even really do it
Hey, who knows what I'd say, who cares what I'd say
If they knew would they stare, I don't care
They got nothin' on me
Who knows what I'd say, I wouldn't tell you anyways
If they knew would they stare, I don't care
They got nothin' on me
You got nothing, 'cause I got somethen'
Second day, number's not my name
I changed, they all stayed the same
Can't even enjoy my ride
I got a ticket going 45 in a 50 zone lane
Paulie called this mornin', givin' me no warnin'
As the cops drove by, you said with a smile
